This is an annoying bug that has seemed to be around for forever. Please fix it.
Hello, I don’t know if this is a known bug or not, but I’m going to report it here anyway.
This bug seems to only effect my Mesmer for some reason. As you can see in the picture, I have a staff in my inventory, but it won’t show up when I try to sell it to the vendor. This goes for any item I have in my inventory that isn’t in my first bag. I also can’t compact, deposit collectibles, or sell any item on the trading post or to a vendor unless it is in my first bag. This is quite annoying, and I’d like to see it fixed, especially if I’m not the only one with the problem.
They can’t turn outfits into armors for two reasons:
- The reason why the armor class system exists is to help differentiate the professions a bit in PvP/WvW. Outfits remove this differentiation and thus cannot exist in PvP/WvW for this reason. This reason is also why ArenaNet recently added the default appearance option for PvP(/WvW?).
- Outfits are designed in far fewer pieces than armor. Even the original town clothing didn’t have all six slots, and not all outfits used up all slots town clothing had (iirc, only the first five did: cook, pirate, Mad King, Witch, and Winter Fancy). As such, they would have to completely remake the outfits from scratch to match the same appearance but be set into six pieces – this is harder than it may sound, since as I said it’d have to be done from scratch.
If I recall correctly, the default appearance option for PvP is an option. Those who care will use that option when they are fighting other players. Why on earth should that limit outfits from being made into skins? Is it so hard to glance up to your target’s name display at the top of your screen to see what class they are?
The outfits don’t have to be made into sets of six pieces, nothing says that it needs to be six pieces.
I enjoy wearing things that aren’t in my “armour type”
That doesn’t have to change if they turned the existing outfits into armor skins, and nothing is forcing them to stick to the “niches” established by armor types when it comes to skins except for themselves. They could make one set of armor that looks the same for all types of armor (light, medium, and heavy), just instead of it being an “outfit” it will be skins. Obviously they didn’t have a problem with this when making outfits, why would it be a problem when making skins?
Outfits allow Anet to design looks that aren’t limited to the piecewise compatibility required by each of the three armor types. All heavy chest pieces have to have to conform so they will fit together with all heavy pants, shoulders and gloves. Outfits get around that limitation.
Similar to what I said above, pieces in outfits can easily be put together with normal pieces of armor from any armor type. This may be seen as a restriction, but it really isn’t. There’s always a way to get around things like this.
People keep shouting about how they only do outfits, when the fact actually remains that they have released more armors than outfits.
I think you totally missed the point of my post. No where did I complain about there being “more outfits than armor sets.” No where did I complain about them “only doing outfits.” I just want them to stop making outfits and go back to making armor sets so that I can customize my character the way I want incorporating their new designs. It’s a shame, I would buy a lot more of their stuff if I could mix and match.
I know this has probably been said a lot, considering this is what most people want, but I’m saying it again. I’m tired of outfits. A lot of this game is customization, and I love to mix and match armors. However, I can’t do that with outfits because it replaces my entire armor set with “armor” that has the same theme and is in no way unique to what the other guys is wearing besides kittening dyes. There are parts of certain outfits that I want to mix and match, but I can’t. This is unbelievably frustrating for me and a lot of people playing the game.
Now, I know why Anet is doing this. It’s because it’s easier and you don’t have to deal with clipping. Understandable, but to me it just looks like laziness, especially since Anet used to make armor sets, but then they suddenly switched to making outfits. I can’t help but wonder if this is some sort of strategy or if they are just plain lazy. Are they planning on turning the outfits into separate armor skins like they used to make, or are they going to leave things the way they are? I’ll admit I bought one outfit before, but that was before I realized that it wasn’t the same as a set of armor skins, and needless to say I was mad.
Please leave a comment if you feel the same way, hopefully if this gets enough attention they might actually consider doing something about it… heh.
I’ve been playing Elementalist since BWE1. I loved it from the very beginning, but I’m having a lot of problems with what build I should use (including armor runes/weapon sigils/healing skill/utility skills) for PvP. I want to use Double Daggers and I’m not open to using any other weapon. What I want to do is keep my health up as much as possible (50%+ at all times, if possible) and be able to deal decent damage. I fought a Champion Elementalist who had this type of build. Can anyone help me?
Yeah, it was the Order of Whispers hideout. Thanks a bunch for the help!
I am missing one POI in the whole world. I have no clue where it is. I thought that I cleared every area, GUESS NOT! What do?
Except no one can actually do that in real life except crazy imagination ninjas.
It doesn’t feel consistent at all, so start watching where you step.Stuntmen in movies do highly trained dives made to look like falls, not actual falls.
(or, they’re part of Jackie Chan’s crew and bust a couple of bones to save on time)Oh and,
If you’re in WvW, the 50% fall-reduction trait is invaluable.
You’re kidding right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgPd29MlHpg 3:41
It should depend on how to fall off of the platform you are on. If you jump off but don’t go forward you don’t roll because you don’t have momentum. If you jump off while running forward then you roll because you have momentum. If it is a really unrealistic height then, yeah, you will die.
Leveling is super easy in this game. What I would do in your place is look at all the gear in the game and decide what you want your 80 to look like. If you don’t see any shoulder pieces better than the ones you deleted then remake your char. I saved my Ele’s starter head piece for the longest time, but I decided that I didn’t need them anymore.
Ele is super fun. I have one as a main. =)
^ This. Really cool dyes. =)
Lol, good idea. I’m going to see if my guild wants to do that. We are the worst WvW server, might as well spend our time in there doing something fun!
My dad said that if I copy one of your drawings and it looks just as good then I get a drawing tablet! squeeeee! :3
I loved fishing in WoW. I wouldn’t mind having fishing in this game either. =D
Lol, ok ok. No kitten-storm. I’m interested in what people have to say aswell. Don’t ask me though, I don’t have a completely formed thought yet. :p
Screw guilds. My guild started a run without me and I was forced to PUG with the worse group EVER. I’m not even exaggerating… We had one person who was always going ahead and pulling mobs, another who was HORRIBLE at jumping puzzles (FOTM is full of JPs), another who would always die, and lastly, one who was always behind. There was me, basically pulling this group along by my teeth made of tree bark. This was only level 1. I can’t fathom the horrors that would have occured if we were doing any other level. We need a system that will balance everything out.
“Join a guild.”? I’m loyal to my guild. I’m not a member of any other guild besides the one I have stuck with through WoW. If they decide to run a dungeon without me then I’m stuck. Oh well, right?
@StrangerChain you’re a cool guy. If you can make this happen then I will kittening love you bro.

I think Charrs should be able to have Asura ride on them. Not even trolling, being totally serious. Waypoints are a great idea, but in WvW it takes way to long to travel. Add mounts or add waypoints to every area that your world own. Also, some people say that mounts would allow you to skip a lot of bad guys, but what if you were unmounted or slowed when in combat.
Thanks Leonard, that cleared up a lot of things.
This is something that needs to be voted on in a poll. Gated content vs. Progression in gear stats. Ready? Go! KITTEN-STORM!!!! :O
I would love to have that option! It wouldn’t be like WoW’s because in WoW you have to have 3 DPS a healer and a tank. This one could be like if you just want to join a random group without any details or if you want to join a group that is put together with tons of details (class, race, ext.). I don’t know, you could take a “personality test” and then the system will match you up with the “perfect” team. It’s not really up to us though…
What makes you want to continue playing @ people who said no? Not trying to get into any arguements, just wondering.
As for my answer to OP’s question I have to say that I don’t know. It depends how ANet approaches the concept.
“…Have Gated content but not progression in gear stats.”
What is Gated content? I’ve seen these thrown around a lot but I have no clue to what it is.
I really think that ANet is on to something by getting rid of the gear treadmill. They need to do more with this concept. I really hope that ANet doesn’t accidently trip and fall into the hole that is the grave of gear treadmill MMOs.
So here’s a question, what makes you want to keep playing GW2? I just want your thoughts I’m not trying to start anything.
Thanks for your input! =)
I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about how there is no endgame. I have never hit the final level in an MMO before and I’m still level 71 in this game. I don’t know what you’re supposed to do when you hit the final level so I don’t know what people are talking about when they say “Where is the endgame?!”. Just what exactly is endgame? What do you do when you’re top level? I’m not just talking about this game. In other MMOs, what did you do at top level that keept you entertained or made you want to keep playing? Also, what did Arenanet do wrong with the endgame that made it so “boring” and what could be added or changed to make it better? Again, I have never played any endgame in any MMO before. I want to see from your experiences and anything you have to say that is relevant to this thread.
Hey everyone! I make videos on Guild Wars 2 and upload a new video every week. I posted one of my videos on the forums before, but I didn’t introduce myself. Here’s my newest vieo for you all! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSXFMBwAxbg
If you could please like and comment on the video I would be very thankful. This video isn’t my best, but I’m just hoping that some people will come around to hit like and maybe give me a nice comment. :3
