With the addition of special items in our home instances, give us more customization, allowing us to make it more of a home than anyplace else. So many ideas could be implemented into this, such as a wardrobe for purchased skins, access to the bank, and even throw in an Account Bound teleporter than allows us to teleport to our home instance for free from anywhere in the world with a cooldown timer. Heck, it’d be nice to have trophies of certain living story achievements appear in our place as well.
Oh, and kick out every NPC already staying in our home instance, those freeloaders!
Any suggestions you guys would want added to our Home Instance?
I don’t think taking breaks from Living Story would be necessary, though I’d like to see Warriors left in the dark for a bit so that the attention can be given—
Let me rephrase that. FORGET COMPLETELY about tinkering with Warriors for now and focus on buffing up Eles, Thieves, and Rangers, the 3 classes that have seen nerfs come like day and night with no end.
I think a neat idea would be to have a ‘Wish List’ tab on our BLTP screen to bookmark items we plan to purchase in the future. That way, we can keep track of it easier should the price change or more of the same item has come in instead of searching for it again and again. Yes, I know you could just place an order on it, but I think it’d be a bit more convenient and money-saving. Limit the list to maybe just 10 items.
If Mounts are added, they shouldn’t have any sort of boost. All is fair in Guild & Wars.
Let’s just accept the fact that mounts aren’t going to happen.
VIP Access AFTER 60$?!?!
I play Guild Wars 2 BECAUSE of no subscriptions, and I refuse to go down that expensive road again.
No. No. NO. Someone close this thread.
No new professions, more profession weapon selections, please.
Ele: Dual Pistols or Greatsword
Thief: Offhand Sword
Guardian: Longbow
Mesmer: Shortbow
Enough of clipping. No more long hair going through half the armor or engulfed in fire due to special effects of said armor. Just let long hair cover the kitten armor parts it falls upon, and let beauty shine!
With that said…Charrs and all their problems…Fix that while you’re at it. Please.
(I still love this game)
I’m tired of saying “At least we don’t have it as bad as the Rangers.”
All this nerfing because some WwW invaders got ganked too quickly…
Just make WwW the same as PvP where everyone is equal and whatnot, and leave my precious PvE alone!
I’m confused here…People want mounts for the speed boosts, or the look?
Cause you can’t have both, you know…
I’m sick of seeing the backpack from the engineer kits when I have a backpack skin on.
My suggestion is that all kits would hide their default backpacks whenever the backpiece armor is toggled on.
This could be utilized for all professions, such that the weapon is hidden when the backpiece is visible.
Another thing though: If your character goes AFK for too long, they automatically get booted back to Character Selection screen. Let players find ways to bypass the restrictions, Arenanet has shown that it will not stand rule-breaking since it launched.
Just make it a cycle toggle style, where you just click arrows left and right to select the character you want to play.
You’ve got 18 characters? God kitten , talk about investment…
Word.
I think mounts would be okay if they were temporary and only limited to the area you are in. There’d be vendors located near the entrances to the area and essentially, you’re allowed to pick a mount of your choice to ride around. You can’t keep the mount and travel to another map or region, otherwise it disappears. It could be free or bought for a small fee, and maybe provide a 10% speed boost at most. If you’re hit and enter combat, your mount kicks you off and runs away.
More knee-high boots for men? I approve.
I’m in for the knuckle duster idea! A thief equipped with it, goes into stealth and gets behind his enemy…and guess what’s coming?
DONKEY PUNCH!
I’d love to have a backpiece skin that would grant an aura when entering combat, something that’d just radiate from the waist up. I don’t care how we can get access to it, but it’d be awesome to have a skin that doesn’t make certain professions look less elegant (Slickpack on Thieves? No, thanks). We could get a choice from radiant mist, dark tentacles, fiery flames, cool ice…You get the drill.
or resistant to crits. This will fix the Zerker issue. Or make a boon that does it that more enemies have. Cant see how this will change the game for the worse in any way
Resistant to critical dam—…what is wrong with you?
Instead of mounts that will clutter up the place, especially in Lion’s Arch, why not just give us the ability to sprint? It would use up endurance, so a player with full endurance would only be able to sprint for 5 seconds before they’d have to wait for it to refill.
We got WPs, so Mounts are not needed, but I believe I’m not the only one when I say that the current movement speed for all races is just a tad bit too slow, especially as Norns and Charrs have it the worst with their awful slow-appearing movement animations. I’d like to feel like I’m sprinting to an event quickly, not jogging slowly and taking in the scenery as I go along.
Either a permanent 10% increase in movement speed with a faster animation movement for charrs and norns, or just the ability to sprint (Binded with key) would be nice.
I think permastealth out of battle would be reasonable, so long as the conditions for entering stealth are set. I always see fighting a thief as a time-limit battle: You either kill them quickly or end up dead or giving them a chance to run away. The thief is the profession that is supposed to keep players on their toes, ensuring they’re always on the lookout. They’re meant to excel in 1 Vs 1, dealing massive burst damage and being difficult to fight without proper tactics. That’s what I always believed was the difference between them and Warriors. Warriors can survive the hits from many and carry on, thieves are excellent at dealing with only one, being extremely careful as one blow could mean the end.
No damaging conditions present? Stealth.
No enemies attacking? Stealth.
No cooldown on stealth? Stealth.
The problem people have with stealth is that they hate a thief that can disappear multiple times during battle, and finally disappear for good if it doesn’t go their way. That, and the painful backstabbing…
kitten , even a backstab damage adjustment would be a good trade-off. Could reduce the damage so that it can never drop an enemy below 25% of their total health.

Would this…be breaking the thief profession?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Proposed-Changes-to-Stealth-717
And to compensate for the stealth nerf they get a tiny buff to vital shot thats it? you do realize theif is designed around stealth they use it for both defense and offense this would completely destroy the profession.
I understand it’s built around stealth, but I believe the thief is one that can pick their own battles, hence the permanent stealth. Essentially, the idea would be that they’d be in stealth unless they engage in battle. They would always have the first strike, dealing massive burst damage, whilst being mobile and evading attacks out of stealth. The warrior is one that can deal consistent DPS throughout long battles, whilst the thief is all about catching their opponents off-guard with the first powerful attack, evading and dodging constantly due to their lack of strong defenses.
Like I said, I’m open to all changes and modifications you think would be fair. I’m sure permastealth is a good thing. Hell, I love the thief, just trying to find a balance for those that love and hate the profession.
Another proposed changes for stealth, that I fear shall be rejected by both parties like the rest, but dammit, I can’t help but have hope!
Main Skills:
Stealth: A skill that is accessible through the F2 button instead of through multiple utilities and skills. The thief will remain stealthed unless engaged in battle or attacked, in which case stealth will go into a 20-second cooldown, reduced by half if health goes below 50%. Works as a stunbreaker.
Stealth will not work if the thief has any of the following conditions: Bleed, Poison, Confuse, and Torment.
Backstab: It will remain the same, but all other attacks in stealth will have a base 25% chance of hitting for critical damage.
Cloak & Dagger: A block that teleports the thief behind the opponent when struck, stabbing the foe and either (Because I’m not sure which one works better):
A) Applying 3 stacks of bleed for 5 seconds.
Or
B) Gain Fury for 5 seconds.
The block lasts for 2 seconds, regaining initiative if not struck. Costs 6 initiative, with a range of 300. Throw a dagger that will damage the attacker if distance is greater than 300.
Pistol Main-hand:
Vital Shot: Every third use of this skill will be with both pistols for extra damage if off-hand pistol is equipped; will poison for 3 seconds if off-hand dagger is equipped.
Body Shot: Add one second of evade when used.
Blinding Powder: Heartseeker-combo will grant the thief 3 seconds of fury instead.
Skills:
Hide in Shadows: Remove three conditions and heal the thief as usual, but also blind all nearby foes for 3 seconds.
Shadow Refuge: Grants the thief 3 seconds of evade and 10 seconds of regen instead of mass stealth. 30-second cooldown.
Together in The Shadows: An elite PBAoE skill that grants stealth and swiftness to all allies for 10 seconds. 2-minute cooldown, one second cast time.
Steal: Has a 50% chance of inflicting weakness for 3 seconds. Will not reveal thief when stealthed.
Downed Skills:
Smoke Screen: Grants 5 seconds of blindness instead of stealth.
That’s about it. More evades, and less stealth…
Any modifications and changes you’d think would help, or are my changes something that would cause mass riots throughout the community for buffing the thieves up too much? This is what I’d suggest for PvE, I’m sure they’re edits needed for PvP/WwW.
This is just an idea, I’m open to criticism and all forms of insults.
Just make stealth like all the other games: We start out with permastealth, then after we initiate the first strike, stealth goes away and the only way to get it back is to run away and avoid damage for about 10 seconds or so. Reduce BS damage if needed, but kitten , make the weaponsets better at the very least. This way, we’re happy with permastealth, and other classes will be happy they don’t have to worry about killing us so much…if they survive the initial burst…
…What would you like to see thieves get in PvE?
Permastealth out of battle?
Better support?
Better damage and crit chances?
Permastealth?
I’d like to hear what you feel the thief should get back.
Shortbow is good AoE damage, D/D for melee damage. Rule is to always put 30 in critical strikes, then it’s up to you whether you want toughness and stealth or dodging and endurance. I’m currently playing P/P on my thief since the buffs they made for PvE, works pretty well ricocheting shots and the damage is pretty good. Overall, you’ll probably be squishier than most classes, but remember….
Everybody is a winner in Guild Wars 2.
I know people wanted dyes to be available on all characters once purchased, and so far, that seems like it’s not going to happen. At the very least, at least give an option, somehow, maybe through a ticket or item, that allows us to unbind a dye of our choice from a character and allow it to be transferred to another character. I don’t mind the result being a one-time reusable, account-bound dye, so long as I can take it and transfer it to another character when I want to.
Just went back and tried the Engineer…
Ignore what I said earlier, Engis got it pretty bad.
Worst downed state skill? NOBODY suffers like the thief in that aspect. A downed thief is under most circumstances, a dead thief.
I did like the Signet and steal buffs, just still so confused on where the hell did the underwater nerfs come from. I did not see that coming, to be honest.
Still waiting on Pistol buffs…
I agree, an awesome addition to have.
I don’t even need Player bases or houses, just guild bases would be enough. Could just give us the option to upgrade to pre-made strongholds with our option limited to purchasing items and whatnot.
We can start off slow, and see where it goes…
It worked! Thank you so much!!!
Just leave the thief alone already. This trend is just getting out of hand.
How some people spend days coming up with ways to nerf instead of hours of devising new winning strategies is something I’ll never understand…
Just installed the latest patch, and now when I press ‘Play’, the window just turns to white but the game doesn’t appear normally. Tried restarting it but the same thing happens: the game window just doesn’t open and I’m unable to play!
NOOOOOOO!!!! What to do?!
Path 2 needs to be fixed! We did an AC run last night and it went smoothly with the usual number of deaths now and then, but my god…Fighting the Ghost Eater now has never been more frustrating than before! Keeping him busy is one thing, but him resetting at random places and his regen is just too much. We brought him down to literally nothing, but out of nowhere, he just decides to reset and gain ALL OF HIS HEALTH BACK!
My suggestion is to nerf the regen on this guy (Because it took a long time to even get the traps settled, nobody needs to be slowed down by an undying boss), and fix this reset problem. We almost wanted to quit after seeing him jump from zero to full health out of nowhere.
Avenged Sevenfold – Flash of the Blade (Iron Maiden Cover)
Because everything in this song says Assassin.
Hello, everyone. Newbie on the boards with an idea for the sword.
I always felt that thieves should get to utilize all 5 skills with just one weapon, instead of relying on an offhand weapon for two extra skills. A thief should be able to use the weapons given to them at their maximum potential.
I was thinking that instead of relying on an offhand weapon to get the full weapon skills set, the 1H sword could be the exception and get access to all 5 without a pistol or dagger. Think of a Ninja, wielding a blade with two hands as he hacks away at his foes with precision and timing. Essentially, we’d be turning the 1H sword into the 2H sword for thieves exclusively.
Now, we wouldn’t make great changes to the skillset the sword already has, but adding a counterattack like the Nine-tailed Strike and maybe Shadowy Assault might be a nice modification to the sword.
Yes, it could either be overpowered or underpowered, but this is just a rough idea.
What do you guys think?
Edit: To anyone who’s played City of Heroes before…it’s the Ninja Blade. Ba-dum-tish
