I have 5 victories on Mesmer, Guardian, Necromancer, and Engineer. I have completed: League recruit
league slayer
League professional
league deliminator
essence collector
mystic essence collector
league conqueror
league rank earner
wings of glory
league top stats
So, by my math that is 13. But I am only showing 10/11.
Any guesses?
When teammates disconnect and you lose, the game counts as a forfeit which does not lower pips. This would not be the case, though, if they were in your party or reconnected within the grace period.
And this is exactly the problem. a disconnect for even a minute makes victory impossible.
In my last match, there were at least 2 people who dc’d (confirmed by the infamous yellow x). However, they both managed to connect before the end of the match. We lose pips, and they go on about their way.
Please do NOT punish a team because others have dc’d. Losing pips this way STINKS!!
There is more than one version. it depends on which way you go out of one of the caverns
To be clear, there is no “frikkin run away” option. You MUST run up the cavern, dodging red circles. There must be more than one version of this story. This version is absolute GARBAGE!
Not all of us have $2000 computer. Not all of us have the reflexes of a 13 year old. . I have been dying every 30 seconds for 45 minutes and am sick of your poor design.
Try to use 3 skills, that fail to fire a third of a time while dodging red circles and and instant death creature behind you that kills you in 3 seconds.
Did any one of you think that this would be fun?
Think about the players! This isnt a fractal or a raid. This is part of the Living Story.
You are supposed to be better than this….
Looking for suggestions for World Bosses. Please list class and setup with your reasoning.
Thanks in advance!
Thank you all for the additional feedback.
they don’t have to accept anything because they didn’t list it.
Elitism at its finest roflol.
- AP is a terrible indicator of dungeon performance. Dungeons don’t award significant
- You lose about 15 seconds when you get kicked from a group at join. This isn’t a real problem.
- I agree that getting kicked from your own group is a problem. I wish we had a real instance-owner system :-(
- I also fully agree that players who have party requirements should be posting them.10 minutes is not a reasonable estimate of time lost for getting kicked at join. It takes roughly five seconds to open the LFG, select a dungeon, and click “Advertise your party”, or join a different one.
Further, you still haven’t justified penalizing players who are trying to form a specific group and properly using LFG descriptions. Even when an LFG says “full zerk, gear check 80s, no rangers/necros”, tons of people join that don’t meet the requirements. Why should these players have to wait 10 minutes every time someone CBA to read and selfishly joins a group that they obviously aren’t wanted in?
AP is the only tool we have atm. A flashing sign that says I have completed this run 7576 times might be gaudy.
If you consider the time to actually get the group formed, start the instance, and wait for the group you form because you just got kicked, it may not be 10 minutes, but it is close.
The second part of my suggestion was a filtered LFG system. You would only be able to join the groups where you met the requirements. You would be able to put class/level/gear requirements etc.
I also want to be clear. I have a 80s of every class but ranger, including many duplicates. I simply view this as a growing issue that really needs to be addressed. If this bothers me as a player since beta, imagine someone with their first toon trying to get into a dungeon and getting kicked.
Thank you for the feedback, now lets talk:
you have no control over the level of experience since the game cannot reasonably track it
Achievement points would work well.
When I kick someone, I have very good reasons for that, usually their performance not being up to the standards of the group
So you have to decide if it would take less than 10 minutes in order to help the player. In my experience, it one or two pointers usually cure the issue. After all, most dungeons can be 3 or 4 manned.
You were immediately kicked after joining so you lost nothing.
Obviously incorrect.
Besides that, if you really need to play necro in a dungeon, you will be able to open your own LFG.
There is no mechanic to prevent you from getting kicked from your own group.
The frustrating thing at this point I’d imagine would be people thinking that smoebody running a necro is going to make a meaningful difference in their clear speed as a pug.
Even though I am an experienced and talented player, I always avoid ‘speed run’ and similar descriptions
More often than not, people just don’t bother reading. When you join a group that clearly states obvious requirements such as a level, a class or AP and you do not meet them, well, expect to get kicked. There should be no punishment involved in this. If anything, the player not meeting the requirements is the offender for not respecting the wishes of that group.
The check boxes would be requirements in order to join. If you did not meet those requirements, you would not be permitted to join the group
If you kick someone from a group, it is reasonable to assume that between the time they already spent in the dungeon and the time for them to get the next dungeon group together, you will cost them at least 10 minutes. It is only fair that if you are going to cost them 10 minutes, that you also lose 10 minutes. Or you can 4 man it…
Few things are more frustrating than getting kicked from a dungeon group. It is far too easy to do. Three players you don’t know decide that they don’t like your class, level, AP, the colour of your shoes, your gear…Well, you get the idea.
Many players make good use of the descriptions. If you only want level 62 rangers with pink shoes and put it in the description-go for it lol.
However, tonight I had a typical experience of how this system can be and is abused. There was a p2 p3 group for Caudecus Manor. Nothing else was listed in their descrption. I joined the group and ported into the dungeon and there was an immediate vote. I tried to negotiate but was kicked.
If you you don’t want a Necromancer in the group, please say so. If you don’t want a level 45, again the description is a GREAT place to say so. If my 11k AP, human, male, or condition build do not meet your needs, again I understand-but put it in the description.
So this lead me to an idea. If you kick a player from a group, you should need to wait at least 10 minutes before you can repost in LFG. This forces a group to really consider before kicking. The same 10 minutes should apply if you leave a group that is in a dungeon, unless the dungeon has been completed.
Now, I get that you may not necessarily want four level 36 rangers joining you in in AC. This lead me to the second part of the idea. When creating a group in LFG you should have options that you can checkbox.
You could checkmark the classes that you want. You could similarly choose levels, AP, Vitality, or anything else.
Helpful feedback and recommendations are always welcome!
The idea of the gem store was originally for convenience items and cosmetics. Clearly precursors are a cosmetic.
This would stabilize the prices which would lessen inflation. It would lead to more people buying gems, which Anet would like.
They should still be available as random drops-kind of like the hair style kits can be bought or found as rare loot .
Seems like a simple fix to a vexing problem.
This started occurring yesterday evening after a routine update to Windows 8.1 I redownloaded the client. issue NOT resolved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that what is frustrating to must players is the random nature of the loot table. You can go a hundred hours without an exotic and when you finally get one its unusable by your class/build and low value so you feel very disappointed. On the other hand, token systems are by definition grinds and that. work-not fun. A hybrid system where there is a guaranteed end but you have a reasonable chance of getting the reward because of a licky drop seems to be the compromise. But I really feel that the systematic issue is different. In about 4 hours you can run all the world bosses and in another 4 do must of the popular dungeon runs. It’s reasonable to expect that you will get a dozen or so rares. A bit of gold and many blues and greens. But it feels unsatisfying because all you have done is make gold to give to a random person who got the lucky drop that you wanted.
Full disclosure – I have played since beta. About 10 achievement points, more than 2 k hours played. No precursor. I would think that one of ARena net’s goals would be to encourage varied game play. For example, legendaries requine crafting, dungeons, world completion, and world versus world. It seems to me that achievement points already accomplish this goal. It would therefore why not modify the current achievement system. Maybe an ecomic every 1k a precursor every 5k. Now how you retrofit it into an existing system without blowing up the economy is your area of expertise.
Active players click salvage kits and salvage dozens of Blue and Green items daily. This is at best tedious.
It would seem to me to be simple to make a salvage all blues, greens, whites etc button. This would greatly reduce needless button pushing and get us back to having fun.
We need a better solution.
Tequatl requires organization. This means a few things. First, someone needs to get the map ready for the battle. It is also very helpful to use LFG in order to taxi people in.
There needs to be a better option of avoiding getting flagged for excessive messaging. I know that the system is automated, but after 2+ years with no infractions it should be obvious that I am not a gold spammer or a troll. There should be a way of relaxing the restrictions on messaging for this particular World Boss.
Helpful suggestions are really appreciated.
It is easier to get more achievement points by doing a variety of things, versus just events, dungeons, and wvw. Yes, the availability of t6 mats must be considered and possibly modified and I’must certain there are many other factors that must be considered. But the current pathetic drop rateand ring isn’t working for anyone.
85 achievements. 2000 hours played. You get the point. In fact, no one in guild( 10+ active members). Place precursors in the achievement boxes-say every 5k. It will reward active and varied game play, not chance.
I am looking for a good comparison of the utility and survivability and rangers and warriors in dungeons and against world bosses. It’s worth noting that I have multiple other 80s.
Looking to compare and contrast warriors and rangers. Specifically survivability and utility in dungeons and against world bosses. Two things to be aware of are that I have multiple 80’s already and, in general, I am not a fan of pets.
A couple of hours after my reply to their response that they weren’t going to do anything AND my post here, it magically reappeared. I will take it.
The details are below, but to make it short and sweet-I found a Vial of Condensed Mists Essence on Sunday. I discovered that I could combine that with other mats to make and ascended backpack.
I made the decision to farm/buy 250 vicious claws(worth 80-90 gold) and completed acquiring them yesterday. I checked my bags, and no vial. I figured that I must have put it in my bank, so I check. No vial. I check each of my toons. No vial.
So I file a ticket for the missing item. Essentially the response below is ‘tough luck’. I am not at all ok with that answer.
It is bad that the item is lost because of some kind of issues with their data base, but I understand that stuff happens-especially during updates. But to say that you aren’t willing to fix your mistakes is completely unacceptable.
Based on the item that your game provided me, I spent a fair bit of time and coin that I am certain you will not compensate me for.
As of tomorrow, I will have been playing for 500 days and my hours played is 1657. I have never requested to have an item replaced before. I state this to emphasize that I am not a new playing or trying to scam something.
I rarely run fractals, but this time when I did I got something nice. I spent a lot of time and coin to do something with the loot. The loot is missing AND you aren’t willing to fix it.
This is not to mention that I have now needed to spend time filling out a ticket, replying to the ticket and taking to the forums to get an acceptable resolution.
Your game philosophy is ‘build it and they will come’. People purchase the game and if they like it they will continue to support it through in game purchases. The philosophy is great, but you are really making me reconsider my options. In case you hadn’t noticed, I am not having fun. In fact I am angry and frustrated. not that the item went missing, but at your refusal to correct the issue you caused.
I really hope that you do the right thing and just replace the item. And for clarification, I tend to believe that Vagrant was following ‘policy’, but quite frankly I don’t care. If your policy is not to fix an issue that clearly you have caused, then the policy need to change.
Any GM/moderator comments would be genuinely appreciated. An apology with the item replacement would be spectacular.

I found a Vial of Condensed Mists Essence during a fractal on Sunday evening EST. I placed the item in my vault and it is now missing. I specifically placed it there for safekeeping and it is simply gone. I have checked all of my toons and it is just not there. I am very frustrated that not only is the item missing, it also means that the time, effort and gold to farm 250 Vicious claws over the past 2 days is wasted because I no longer have a necessary ingredient for the There with Yakkington: A Traveler’s Tale Backpack that I was preparing to craft. I am certain that you can look through the log and find where I found the item. I am equally certain that you can see that I did not use or destroy the item. It is also worth mentioning that no one else has any access to my account, and that as an account bound item, it is untradeable. I appreciate your prompt effort to return the missing item to me promptly.

Hello Robert,
Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.
We understand you point, but as a general rule we are not able to replace items, and that is true in the case of the item that you have requested.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Regards,
GM Vagrant

I saw a link to a berserker Scepter/Dagger build the other day and can’t find it any longer.
If someone would please post a link to a good build I would appreciate it.
Thanks!
I am looking for a casual guild on Jade Quarry. Basically, looking for a group to hang out with for an hour or two most weeknights.
-drama free
-very limited profanity and no adult content ( I have two small children)
I also need it understood that I work 55 hours most weeks and try to squeeze a full week’s parenting into the weekend.
I have raided in previous games, but prefer a more casual atmosphere.
My level 80s are Elementalist (prefered), Guardian, and Necro.
If you feel I would be a good fit, please leave me a link to your website.
Happy Hunting!
I recently had my account hacked. Twice….. I appreciate Arena Nets efforts in restoring my account.
But one thing that i noticed is that they had the IP Addresses that were authorized to access my account. It is worth noting that the hackers had Canadian and California IP Addresses.
I was thinking about this earlier and it seemed to me that if it is possible to track the IP Addresses that it should be possible to prevent unauthorized IP Addresses from accessing accounts. I know that that there is an email authentication system and the authentication system App (which appears problematic).
Why not prevent IP Addresses from different states(or countries) from accessing an account? You could even enable a Traveling option of some kind that could be enable usage in different areas. I would suggest something like a 48 hour delay from when traveling mode was enables and when it could be used. Also, I would suggest both email and in game mail notifying that it had been enabled.
The system would be very automated so it would require minimal maintenance and the IP Tracking system is already in place so this tweek should be simple.
I think that it would save Arena Net time and money because of the efforts required to track down and restore hacked accounts.
Thank you for consideration.
thank you all. it is appreciated
so are all stats capped at 2500? thank you again!
I have heard that there is a limit to stats like power and precision. Does anyone know what they would be for a level 80 Guardian?
Thanks in advance!
Primarily, I am looking for traits and slot skill recommendations.
I have looked though some builds and it is really hard to tell the good ones for the others.
Thanks in advance!
I am looking for a social guild with NO drama AND with profanity restrictions. It would aslo be GREAT if there were at least a half dozen people on during the evenings.
Please post contact information.
Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestions!
I am trying to find a place to kill Veterans in Maguuma for my daily. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
It is nice that we have rotating achievements for Dalies. A quick count showed that I have 9 options of which 5 must be completed.
However, I was wondering why the same flexibility is not seen in the Monthly Achievements.
I spend 11 hours a day talking to mostly unhappy people. The LAST thing I want to do is run dungeons….
BTW, I do know the definition of MMO, but that does not necessarily mean that I want to run dungeons.
PS
If this has already been commented on by a developer, I would really appreciate a link.
Thanks in advance!
I expect to be level 80 in a week or so and was wondering which armor set(s) would be good for a tanky Minion Master. Events or WvW would probably be my preferred method of grinding. I have some interest in the vampyric abilities. Please note that I can only play about 10 hours a week so grinding endless dungeons is probably not a good option.
Thanks for your suggestions!
If is very frustrating tring to find the last few hearts in an area, especially the underwater ones There should be some mechanic that makes the much easier to find. Not sure if this would be increased range on heart visibility from scouts, or simply allowing all of the hearts to automatically show up in an area or if the last 5 hearts should automactically appear or some other option. but there needs to be a better way…
