Regardless of what has been said the last few pages, I really enjoyed the fights against Iron yesterday.
You really pushed us hard when you split up in 3×20~ man groups, which forced us to be constantly on our toes to guard both our towers and garrison.
Great initiative, pretty much agree with everything you’ve suggested, so not going to repeat what you’ve mentioned already.
WvW Suggestions:
- Improved Commander tag:
- Commander tags are now displayed in different colors (except blue, which is explained further below) depending on the amount of commanders in the same zone. These colors are decided by which commander has activated his tag first. Turning off/leaving will open up that color spot for new arrivals.
- Commanders now have the option to place symbols on the map for people in the zone to see, in their respective color(s). (To avoid clusterkitten of symbols on your map simply join the squad of the commander your following, as this will only display your commanders symbols placed on the map.)
- These symbols are: Attack(axes), Defend(shield) and Rally-point(banner). These can be placed anywhere on the map.
- Example: Green commander wants people to defend Garrison, he therefore places a green shield symbol near the watergate, because that spot needs defending. When the threat is over he removes the symbol.
- Commander tag now requires minimum ranking of 100~, and costs both Badges of honor and gold.
- Guild Commander:
- In order to make it easier for guilds to do stuff on their own without involving the whole zone their in, they are now able to research their own guild commander tag(s), for influence. These tags are only seen by the people representing the guild, all guild commander tags are shown in blue, so is the symbols mentioned above.
- Including making it easier for guilds to do certain things alone, this will hopefully also split up the larger groups(megablobs), which again would reduce the skill lag.
- WXP Suggestions:
- Reward people with new purchasable skins as they progress in rankings. These skins are only wearable for people above the required ranking.

Really hope this wholezone blobbing comes to an end soon, not pointing any fingers, as it goes for all the 3 servers.
With that said, really enjoyed some of the fights on Viz tonight.
Can’t think of anyone being even remotely close to how skilled/dedicated Red Guard is.
Thanks Gatekeepers of Desolation(GoD) and Golden Horde(GH) for the enjoyable fights at SFR BL the last couple of days.
The lag I’m having in game at the moment is laughable, and it seems I’m not the only one either.
ISP: Cable (Canal Digital)
Speed: 70/10
Country: Norway
Server: Sefarer’s Rest
1) Daily/Monthly WvW Achievements.
2) Option to show/hide name.
3) Commander Icon, purchased if you obtain an achievement and badges, instead of purely gold.
4) Guild Commander Icon, only visible for guild members.
– Improved grouping, up to 20 people.
The players on SFR are so great they don’t even need to break door for going in.
Because that picture clearly shows that all gates/walls are intact.
I find it rather funny how narrow-minded some of you people really are.
There’s no doubt numbers play an important roll in the outcome of these match-ups, denying that is sheer stupidity. Fact is, the server with best coverage and most players is always going to win, that’s how Arenanet build WvW to be.
Blacktide have done this themselves, that some of you are even complaining about what we, SFR, are doing at the moment, when you’ve done the very same thing yourself earlier, is laughable. Of course people are going to burn out if the keep constantly winning, without a challenge, but I’m really hoping guilds like RG/GF/Xaoc/Nugos etc. will continue to fight, as in my opinion this game isn’t about topping the ladder, but about the good fights we have when organized guilds crash together.
Vizunah, did you not win the first match-ups because you were the only server with a proper night-crew? The argument some of you used when people complained about your night-capping was that this was how Anet wanted it to be, that there were nothing illegal doing so. Complaining about the same stuff happening to you now makes some of you slightly hypocritical, don’t you think? On a positive note, none can deny that being in T1 since release isn’t an huge achievement, which makes you in my eyes the best EU server, despite not having the same organized guilds SFR/BT have.

This match-up has been excellent so far, will be interesting to see how the match pans out during the weekdays.
Agreed.
By looking at http://mos.millenium.org/matchups it couldn’t be a more “perfect” time to settle servers once and for all. I might have overlooked something, but I think the only real huge gaps are on US T& and EU T9 brackets, other than that all the matches are pretty close.
Not saying I think you guys are lying or anything, but would be fine if you could back-up the accusations with some legit source (vid/pic).
Watching Phantaram is where I’ve learned most my tricks from. (Of course combined with trying out stuff myself that is.)
Having a large American guild transferring to your server to night-cap the kitten out of everyone is pretty legit though.
How to solve this:
- Implement the system you mentioned, about the price raising 2g by each person who buys it.
- Add another restriction, where you need the top tier achievement in WvW title to be able to purchase it.
I’ll counter your arguments and moaning regarding night capping by mentioning that the server your talking about got a higher population than most of the EU servers, which makes it possible to have max amount of players represented on most hours of the day, despite night times.
How is that fair towards the other servers who aren’t able to fill all the borderlands at daily times?

FS and VS have the same problem with queue and high populated server. And it will be worse while the transfer is free.
I still stand by my statement that FS is “one” of the most populated EU servers, I think Vizunah is close, but not quiet there. VS guilds might be more eager participating in WvWvW, as I see a lot of french with the same guildtag going together, while as I stated, only russians has really made an impression on me from FS.
Russians are carrying FS at the moment. No other guilds has brought the amount of people they bring to WvWvW consistently during the first few weeks.
From what I can understand the “french” has a big alliance that is made up by quiet a few guilds, who moved to an empty server at release, so they were able to fill most spots with guild members and people who are a part of their alliance, while Far Shiverpeaks remain as one of the most populated EU servers, filled with a bunch of randoms etc. (This isn’t mean’t as an excuse at all, since the FS alliance(s) could easily have decided on another server, I’m just pointing out the obvious.)
I don’t begrudge the french at all, as they would easily be top-two regardless of the night capping. They posses skill/dedication/commitment etc. and obviously deserve the top spot. But to say that their massive lead(s) hasn’t been due to “night-capping” is completely wrong. If you honestly believe that you have no idea what your talking about.
I would say it’s pretty narrow-minded of some of you guys that don’t realize there’s two sides of this discussion, and my opinion is that both have their pro/cons.
I could honestly see why they shouldn’t limit WvWvW availability, as there are those who only have the opportunity to play at “night”, should they not be allowed to play the game like the rest of us just because they work a different shift than you/us? If they were to limit WvWvW, wouldn’t they then have to limit it from 06:00-16:00 as well, because that’s when I’m at work … I also understand the Canadians etc. who wants to play with their French friends. Excuse me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t FS have the highest pop. in EU? Is that fair towards the other servers that has less, and isn’t able to fill all the borderlands during the day?
On the other side though, I think that this issue defiantly has to be addressed. Why? Because capping everything with little to no resistance, because the opposition is sleeping/minding real life business, shouldn’t be right, especially considering you gain 2x/3x of the points of what the “we” did fighting just NPCS. On top of that when your able to upgrade everything with no resistance you gain a huge advantage that will affect the gameplay during the day as well.
I know this “night-capping” can be seen on as a valid tactic, but my point and opinion is that you shouldn’t be able to gain 2x/3x of what the opposition made having to PvP, only fighting a bunch of NPC’S. I thought the whole point of this was to actually reward PvP’ing, but guess I was wrong…
