What im disapointed with as far as getting Legendaries goes is that its not a journey. Its quite an uninspired grind. The only thing that actually has anything that makes me feel as if it takes you somewhere is the World Completion.

Everything else could pretty much be done in a few zones/instances. You just do them a few hundred or thousand times.
Doing 20 dungeons 10x or 1 dungeon 200x is already a big difference.

I was hoping for getting a journey, a story and achievement on its own. One that you would do not just for the flashy skin at the end of the long road but also just to travel the road itself.

Engineer explosive shot is way too weak

I said this before in a similar thread. Explosive Shot IS a kitten ability. At lv80, in cond/prec gear, i get less then 700dmg out of it with a crit. (<500dmg for the hit, and 2x 80bleed ticks)

I am not including traits or sigils because lets face it, these apply to ALL your abilities, and dont make Explosive Shot any better.

Now, i switch to a rifle. Mind you its the same prec/cond gear, and i am rocking almost 900 crits. And i dont need a trait for it to pierce. Ofcourse both pale in comparison to other professions, but thats a different subject entirely.

If the Bleed was 5 seconds, it would sport out to be a <500dmg crit but with 5×80 ticks of Bleed is another 400dmg. Now its almost a 900 hit. Thats more like it!
I have no idea what numbers Arenanet used when they nerfed Explosive shot, severely, back in the Beta.
But i cant get any decent hit out of it even if i’d go full on glasscannon.

tl;dr
Explosive Shot deals very poor damage. Buff please!

Well the thing isnt so much the Bleed, its the damage of the total ability. If it has a 2sec bleed but hits for 1k, i dont see the problem.

But, thats not how it works now does? At lv80, with a bunch of exotics going for prec/cond damage with some power/toughness mixed as third stat.

Initial hit, 280. Followed by two ticks of 80 damage. Really? Not even 500 damage? A crit would make that 460 and two ticks of 80 damage because conditions themselves dont actually scale with anything but condition damage.

And dont bring up traits and sigils that proc on crit , because they can proc on everything. So fact remains, Explosive Shot is a pisspoor ability. When my own Rifle can already get around 900 crits (same gear, so not ideal for Rifle).

A 5sec bleed would make it 800-900dmg on crit. That seems expectable for a lv80 attack with an Exotic pistol, and gear stacking condition damage.

I highly suspect grenades single target DMG is not intended to be higher then rifle and pistol, and will be changed in the following few weeks. Hopefully with a rifle and pistol DMG buff.

No but it shouldnt be this bad either.

grenadekit being one example, but look at the trait grenadier. Extra grenade and 25% more range.
So, +50% dmg, +50% condition duration and +25% range.

Name one weapon, just one, where a trait like this wouldnt be horribly overpowered? But apparently, for Grenadekit its okay. Such a massive boost from traits just to make it okay speaks volumes on how bad it is without such traits.

The same goes for other kits. Flamethrower, 200toughness, stacks of might and still its still subpar compared to real weapons.

Meteor shower is overpowered.

Stupid ele’s getting all the credit. Have you never had a Grenadier Engineer bomb the living kitten out of your walls? Way more deadly then Meteor shower, and at much longer range.

Vizunah Square [FR] and Far Shiverpeaks, it's just not a fair game.

Itll balance out in the end.

The people that are there for fun will not bother anymore, and just wait two weeks for a better match-up.
This void either gets filled up with a more WvW centric crowd who can now get in easier. Or not at all and VS can enjoy playing with themselves.

Anti-farm code does exist for Fine Crafting Materials

Ive set out to farm stuff myself, and clearly you notice a drop in loot after a while. I grind karma at Lonepost in Straits of Desolation. Nice 3 stage event there that triggers fast after another.
When i start the first few cycles the mobs drop loot like crazy so to speak. Im getting loot from roughly half of the mobs. Ranging from salvageable, to rare/masterwork vendor trash, and lootbags.

Then suddenly, a steep dropoff after a while. Where a whole pack of 15 Risen, as few as 0-2 actually drop loot. Consistently. Ive farmed here for karma on several occasions and its always the same.

The problem is, mob diversity in Orr is close to zero. Sure a lot of different skins, but its all Risen/Undead at the end of the day with fairly similar loottables, so going out and killing other stuff isnt an option because there is no other stuff.
Secondly, if you want gear in this game you need to grind. Karma, dungeons, crafting, whatever Exotic it is. Its usually a time/gold sink. But then Arenanet goes around and punishes players for grinding.

Getting seriously mixed messages here.

Give us a butter merchant.

Butter and Chocolate should just be back at the vendor. At this point keeping it as a drop is just meaningless, its still dirt cheap and you dont have to leave to city to get bulks of it.

Seriously, back to the vendor the both of you, and at the same time it clears up the loottable a bit. win – win

As is typical in massive programmed things…. such as MMO’s you fix one problem you then create a greater problem with the fix.

By adding cooking ingredients to a drop table you now take items that were in short supply and put them in dire levels.

Furthermore with the anti farming script if you go out and attempt to gather the resources yourself the script kicks in and prevents the drops.

They really need to relook at crafting demands as this is a horrible state of affairs for crafters (not speaking of cooking as this hasn’t changed the ease due to the monumental drop rates).

That anti-farming script makes no sense at all. At lv80 if you want gear, you need to grind for it. And then, you punish people for grinding. What?
