One of my guild members complained that there wasn’t enough content for them at level 15! Nothing surprises me anymore from the online community.

Sometimes the devs do make changes that make the achievements easier; however unfair that may be to more established players. Just look at what they did in GW! Give it some more time, go away and come back to it if you have to.

If you are unfamiliar with GW history; there are two titles which used to be mutually exclusive. Legendary Survivor and Ledgendary Defender of Ascalon; one required you to avoid death well beyond level 20, and the other required you to die often before reaching level 20. They changed it so that anyone could get Legendary Survivor even if they’ed already died 100 times. And they added quests to Pre-Searing Ascalon which eliminated the need for death-leveling mobs. How was this fair to all those people who had already earned those titles the hard way?

The game is still brand new, and it is what it is without much input from the player-base. In the future the game will be something different, you can depend on that.

I like the armor appearance that I have now, and it’s not elite. Doesn’t matter how many people end up with a set of exotic Arah armor, or what they went through to get it, I don’t like the way it looks on me. If I had a level 80 Necro instead of an Ele, then I’d probably like it more.

Is it even possible to take ‘grind’ away from the MMOG Industry and still have a product?Even in EVE Online where your skills progress while you’re offline, there is still a PvE grind for Corporate standings and money to buy and replace fancy faction ships..

Doesn’t really matter what the game is to you Wintyer, your playstyle may be unique or simply uncommon. If other’s play the game differently, why should we have a problem with that. If people don’t like some of the content, our arguments won’t likely convince them that their opinions are wrong. It doesn’t matter how many people will disrespect the complainers, that’s not helping those players have more fun in the game.

If you are playing some other game for whatever reason, then you won’t be having fun in GW2. It seems a bit early in the game to have inactive guild members in our roster, but it seems that we do have some.

You guys can argue the pros and cons of the design as much as you like, but it’s not going to convince anyone to be more loyal to ArenaNet in the long run.

The minority opinion is always the correct opinion because it will govern the actions of a single individual.

Lets face the facts, this or any other MMOG may not hold our attention long enough to accomplish every goal the game has to offer. Our time is limited by real-life considerations and may be limited by the availability of competing products. Just because GW2 is a great game, does not mean that other games aren’t worth our time. Taking a slower path to in-game goals doesn’t increase our fun from playing the game.

I spent less than 2000 hours on my six year old GW account, in that time I managed to accomplish many things. I know of several players who were a lot more dedicated and spent in excess of 5000 hours on the game. Of course they were able to accomplish much more than myself, but for the amount of play-time I invested I think I did pretty well. I retired from the game often but it was easy to come back to. And I have the benefit of personal experience with a lot of other MMOG’s which were all fun while i was playing them.

I tend to spend very long hours on my gaming hobby and it is a bit of an obsession, but I never feel boredom.

I find it true of every MMOG, that there is a core of dedicated and loyal fans, but the majority of players are more fickle. All game developers will try to make improvements to the game in progress and inevitably some of those efforts will be unpopular. If it’s your business plan to retain player-base it’s hard to do the right thing. No matter what ArenaNet has accomplished with GW2, some of the players are going to be unhappy and I’m already seeing plenty of that sentiment.

But I still love the game even though I’m unable to farm fine mats as efficiently as I’d like!

If you want to be as self-sufficient as possible and do your tradeskills. it’s entirely necessary to farm lots of mob drop items. If you are unable to farm enough you will have to buy from from the BLTP. If you had to buy all your crafting materials from the BLTP, then clearly there would be no profit in selling your crafted items. Allowing players to make a profit from crafting seems to be considered an exploit by ArenaNet. Of course you are getting some XP for your investment of time and money, and perhaps thats enough justification for doing it.

The financial rewards for completing events and dungeons can be very easily negated by repair bills. The accumulation of wealth is certainly a good measure of progress beyond any level caps in any MMOG. I believe there’s more than enough money sinks in the game, and I suspect that the planned player housing will be a significant money sink. It’s still possible for the average player to accumulate wealth in GW2, there is just a higher-degree of difficulty to doing it.

The acquisition of a single Legendary weapon is the most significant end-game grind in Guild Wars 2. Having one of those items equipped would be a very prestigious thing for any player; but the grind to obtain the item is simply very time-consuming and doesn’t look like a whole lot of fun. At the end of the journey we will have our gratification I guess. Heck i need to grind over 14 million more XP in order to have enough SP available to get my Legendary item.

Not sure how long it will take me to have two full sets of Max PvE Gear & 8 20-slot bags. Increasing the difficulty of achieving some goals in the game does not necessarily make the game more fun for me. I’m not the most competitive player, player rank and who gets it done first hardly matters to me. IN any event most of the game content looks achievable to me, but it’s still a labor of love. Not sure that I can manage to achieve all those goals on a second character though, it’s simply too much repetitious work!

The only elite gear set that I even like the look of, is the Inquest Exotic set. I was a bit disappointed to discover that all the rare dungeon sets look exactly the same!

Seems to me like the BLTP places new listings on the top of a stack, then sells from the top of the stack. If it’s done like this, some people may never get their listings sold even if they have the lowest price. It should fill buy orders from the bottom of the stack, in order to give everyone a fair chance to sell their stuff.

If you time your listing correctly, you can get high-demand items sold almost instantly even though there may be over 100000 such items already listed at the same price!

Also it’s still possible to place buy orders on the TP at or below merchant value.

I just don’t see it that way.

Our Guild Stash went missing today, NPC says we don’t have one yet. The Stash upgrade is still showing in our upgrades list. It had some items in it, I hope we get that stuff all back!

Update: I was able to access the guild stash with one of my alts, my main character still can not access the stash. Her name is Cellestia.

Sure you could easily have enough alts to completely negate the need for switching.
But that in itself doesn’t make the current pricing more rational.

I’m more than half-way through Tailoring and Artificing and I’ve mastered cooking (in before the nerf) on a single toon. From what I can see theres not a much profitability in the crafted items, after you take away the value of materials. The tradeskill must justify the cost of using the tradeskill, it doesn’t really matter how much money a level 80 can make in a day from doing events.

Pointing out that the game can be improved in a certain way for the average player, is not in the least way hateful. The average forum user here is not a good representation of the average player, many of whom will never post on a forum. Please note the silly face where i say ‘fanbois’; I pre=paid for the CE, i think that’s good enough to make me a member of the exclusive club!

Clearly it would be beneficial to master every trade on a single toon, just for the skill points. WE can’t really put a value on the XP gain you would get from mastering a trade, but for many of us it’s likely worth the cost of training the skill.

You can buy a whole lotta Peach Tarts off the TP with 40 silvers; is it really worthwhile to craft food for yourself if you have to switch trades to do it? And if you gathered a full stack of Omnomberries yourself; you could sell em on the TP and buy your Tarts! You’d nearly break even on the deal (in fact you’d save money on other ingredients) and you don’t need to switch trades to do it!

All the ANet fanboi’s will usually defend the game as it is, that’s to be expected. :-P

40 silver is quite a lot when compared to the value of most crafted items.

I think that making us pay 40 silver to reactivate a mastered tradeskill is pretty outrageous, considering the value of our currency. The costs should by cut by 50% at least!

That’s roughly equal to 200 gems at the current conversion rates, Gems into Gold.
Which means it’s costing us $2.50 to reactivate the skill!

Guild Banners not exclusive

A person should not have access to guild boons unless they’ve earned it by participating in a guild. It’s indefensible as an intentional feature. Just like a person should not have access to dungeon gear unless they’ve explored the dungeons enough to earn the tokens.

It doesn’t matter how many people support the system as it’s currently working, I’m not going to be dissuaded from that position.

It’s not really an issue about sharing, it’s an issue about earning the privledges that go along with guild membership! If we we’re really supposed to be sharing the rewards that we’ve earned then there wouldn’t be a reason for soulbinding items!

Our guild bonus banners can be used by anyone it seems, and not just guild member or allys. This provides very little incentive for people to join guilds, as they can get all the benefits of being in a guild, without having to join one!

I hope this is not the way they’re intended to work.

AC Explore mode bugged

Token.6501

My party nearly finished AC Exploration mode, we made it up to the final boss and failed to get the cutscene to start the fight. We chose to go after the ghost graveling.
We killed the insanely overpowered ghosts, and the graveling breeder. We killed all the gravelings we could reach, and all the oozes that spawned when both gates were opened.
We brought our NPC and the entire party to designated spot and nothing happened.

BTW ANet your dungeon mobs are insanely overpowered, you’ve made it far too difficult and costly in gear repairs. It’s prettykittenstupid IMHO. It took our party over 3 hours just to finish off the ghost boss, we just plain refused to give up, but in the end we couldn’t finish.

If we have to go through that torture over and over in order to obtain leet dungeon lootz, you can leave me out i don’t want the junk. All those rewards should be level 80 items anyways!
