Merely my prediction:
1.Wurm: Mordremoth
2. Marionette: Primordus1.Wurm:
“There’s a rumble in the jungle”
“Great Jungle Wurm”2. Marionette:
-Thumpers, and “dragon-energy” technology
-marionette on chains to be lowered into the depths. To continue the thread throughout the living story:
1.Nightmare Court: Jungle
2.Thumpers: Primordus
1.Tequatl: Jungle
1.Twilight: JungleThe Metronome:
2. “Thump, thump, time to jump… There’s a secret deep below to find… A fire is rising…”From news:
" ‘I will interpret both of your statements as ’Expansion incoming’. ~Tilion
Lewis B ‘Oh not at all. Better than that!’ "Thoughts?
I think you have it wrong here.
Tequatl is undead, He is a Zhaitan general or whatever
The Marionette is tech born Aetherblade stuff mixed with magic. Aetherblade is inconclusive as far as a dragon relationship is concerned. If there was an Air Dragon (Kralkatorrik?) , then I could see it. Maybe Scarlet’s Marionette is actually a defense being built to fight dragons and they are literally using good people (Heroes) to test it on. She is nuts afterall.
Wurms are jungle you are right. Wurms tunnel underground and might be the connection between the Jungle Dragon and Primordus. The thumpers are to drive the wurms to the topsoil, but why? What do Wurms have to do with burning Tyria?
Maybe Scarlet is using them to make tunnels, giving Destroyers a direct path to the surface.
Destroyers are tied to Primordus as would be Flame Shamans who seem to worship Destroyers/Primordus.
It almost looks like there are three dragons involved with this.
Kralkatorrik (crystal and Aetherblade tech/magic)
Mordremoth the Jungle Dragon who seems to birth the Sylvaris directly. Wurms and Nightmare Court
Primordus the fire dragon. Flame Legion, Destroyers, Fire, Underground.
So we know that before a Sylvari is born they gain great knowledge in the “Dream” We also know that Dragons can breath life into things. If anything all of the dragons have in common is they create minions (or children). We also know that Dragons hibernate for hundreds (thousands) of years.
Could every dragon have a good and bad side to them?
Could Nightmare Court Sylvari be created when the same entity has a nightmare?
I know it is not a new idea that the Pale Tree is actually a dragon, but since we know that the dragon’s sleep and that the Sylvari’s learn everything in something called the dream, couldn’t it be when the dragon is having good dreams vs bad dreams?
The Sylvari are a very new race. It would make sense to me that they were created within the same time period that the Dragons started stirring. All dragons seem to stir before awaking completely as seen with Primordus.
Also is there a possibility that not all of the Dragons are evil (Evil is subjective anyways) and that since we know they are also territorial, then they do not necessarily have the same objectives.
Would it not make for a very good (if not epic) story line.
If the Pale Tree is actually Mordremoth and it awoke, could that also prevent players from creating new Sylvari? Wouldn’t that be interesting in itself (having a time limited race) Most would be against this I am sure.
I think that it was suggested that they were lesbians previously, but now it’s set in stone with this last story.
I think it is great.
I am not gay (just wanted to get that out of the way) but it is nice seeing them confront this with two characters who i personally like a lot. Their dialog is generally funny. I like how one character is very dark and one very light. It adds a lot to their dynamic.
We haven’t beaten him yet, but I think it’s been pretty kitten fun so far. Really intense. The barrel thing is only ONE of the 3 wurms. If you don’t like that wurm, you have 2 other wurms you can help out with.
Mobs don’t drop anything in Tequatl either, it’s the end rewards that are worthy!
I will research more on it.
I’m more than willing to have a discussion with you. I can tell you exactly how you do it. TTS Community. We are attempting right now, we have over 5000+ members. We have been working on it since the patch came out. It is called being communal with people, maybe start a guild dedicated to world bosses….etc. There are many ways. Take your guild, make an alliance with another guild, and work together
PUGS do not work together, communities built by players work together.
I know that I have made the biggest gaming community within Guild Wars 2, and we have beaten Tequatl more than any other guild or group in this game. We plan on doing the same with all new hard bosses.
:) Good luck, I hope this inspires you to start a community, or something to bring people together rather than just complaining on the internet…and watching other complain on the internet. (I did it, it worked…and I’m nobody special…so can you).
For me it isn’t only about winning. It’s about fun and reward along with a challenge.
Tell me how the Wurm is fun? It really isn’t. It’s just a giant Barrel-chain-run pain in the Kitten! I wanna fight them and the mobs, not fetch barrels like I am playing Toxic Spore events.
The big difference is Mobs drop things in every event besides this one? Why? I don’t mind getting punished for failing but if you are 99% likely to fail, not have fun or get any drops. Well, there isn’t much of a reason to try once you are tired of it.
I foresee a boss who will sit barely played and what feels like wasted content.
(edited by Tyrantis.8640)
Uninstall your game then. Spamming 1 is pretty much no different.
Haha I get it… you think im a newb, 1 pressing, Zerk gear kid eh?
I hope others are more willing to have an actual discussion than you. Tell me how you will get 3 PUGs in three separate areas with 3 groups to take down 3 mostly invulnerable Wurms in 15 minutes?
Tell me how you can get that many people who do not work together to work together.
Tell me how running barrels in a group on a thin piece of wood works when you cant see the piece of wood due to zerg, so you wait until you can see the kitten ed ground. It’s not fun and there is no skill there, just forced fetching.
Now tell me to go press 1
You don’t know me or my skill level. I like things difficult. I am being practical here.
Now I have played the Giant Watchwork and lost twice miserably and loved every minute of it. That event isn’t easy, it’s about the fun.
(edited by Tyrantis.8640)
Yeah I get it the event is hard… seemingly really hard. That is fine. My huge issue with it? Running barrels. It is NOT fun.
Why the hell do we all level up our characters? To do damage. ArenaNet took this away and introduced barrels (the same from the nightmare tower might I add) to force players to all do the same damage.
Anyways its no surprise a bunch of PUGs failed that particular event.
Champs don’t drop anything (I killed a ton) and then the pre-finale… you get to run barrels back and forth like some crappy fetch quest.
I don’t like the Wurm event. It could have been amazing. The Wurm from inside the tower was pretty awesome. This event is honestly garbage.
To defeat this boss you literally need 3 groups of three (one for each wurm)
1 group for barrels
1 for support n rezzing
1 for CC
Yup I don’t see a PUG doing this ever.
Because this game relies waaaaay too much on crafting and assembling gear than on finding it in the game world.
It’s much less of a problem in games where the best gear is at the end of a hard dungeon or boss instead of being cobbled together from rare junk that fell out of a trash mob.
What?!
Just curious. Are you playing the same game as me?
It’s a beautiful update, BUT, I am still not able to track achievements because if I do, the Daily disappears of the screen, and I don’t like that. I want BOTH daily and manually tracked on my screen.
Well the way it’s always worked is fine. You have the option of turning on ones you want to follow and if you don’t, then daily is the default.
My recommendation is view the Dailies you want (those are achievements technically) AND track the ones you want as normal.
At least that is what I do.
I just can’t see myself buying this ore pack anyways. I could get these resources farming for less than 5 mins. The amount you get in your personal isn’t enough to really make a dent in anything, whether it be crafting or selling.
I love the ideas of Ore in the home instance, but for the price there is literally no reason to buy this.
thats ALWAYS like that…
they wait with adding stuff in the gemshop until all people could patch
Waiting for everyone to patch doesn’t really sound like how it works. Maybe its at a certain time, but I am sure it isn’t to “wait with adding stuff in the gemshop until all people could patch”
It’s called a Invisible bag. That is where I put my mini anyways so this update came about a year late for me. They should have added a slot to store our minis in that we can easily call them by pressing a button.
Obviously you do not mean Necro or Ranger but what about minis?
If you mean minis then that really sucks as they leave you as soon as you Waypoint.
If you mean Parrots (for example from the Superior Runes) then say so.
All we have in the notes is 30 Min cooldown on items that summon pets.
Do you mean those pet whistles you can buy from Ogres?
Explain this please as people don’t know what to expect.
I don’t understand why people would skip Lupi. He isn’t that hard unless you dont know what to expect. I PUGed him the other day and it was the first time I fought him. I watched Youtube videos of the run first and the party leader was so kind and helpful and patient with the group.
I like the conversations around this topic. I am not trying to screw over those that sell and help the community.
The point I was always trying to make is that there will be a day when all you will see are annoying sales ads within LFG. I feel like it abuses the purpose of it. Everytime I see a sales ad in LFG a baby Dolyak dies in my heart :P
It really doesn’t go any deeper than that.
Selling Dungeon Runs for quick high personal profits just completely ruins the social aspect of the whole game, that people should play together.
You see basically nothing else anymore in the tool, than those antisocial Dungon Run Sellers spamming the Tool full for those Dungeons that mean for them the most big profits, like Arah…We’re talking here about something, that just started to exist from the moment on, when the LFG-Tool got implemented. Before the implementation, there was nothing like Dungeon Run Selling in this game.
1. Helping me to get the armor I want without me having to spend hours in the dungeon . Yeah that’s antisocial.
2. If I remember correctly most posts on gw2lfg for arah were selling offers.
Listen I am all for it right now, but there WILL be a day I go to use the LFG and all I will see is advertisements and I will be kitten ed. So will quite a few people. Soon normal folks will just stop using LFG.
2. Bringing up GW2LFG (Which I used as well) isn’t valid as it was outside of game.
Kick players to sell spots, as in players who completed the majority of the dungeon with the sellers.
The reason you see so many selling posts on LFG is because they don’t fill quickly. The groups with players who actually want to complete the dungeon do fill quickly, and then are gone until the next one pops up.
Yeah I agree. Maybe I just need to get over my hatred for “selling this or that” in MMOs.
It’s the way I have become over the years basically on Gold Selling and the like. I really hate the idea of folks helping other players for money. It’s scummy and whatever.
I feel like a “Gentleman’s Agreement” is way different than straight out advertisement. When I see a LFG selling paths it doesn’t seem like anything other than sales.
TL;DR: Fine unless you use exploits, kick players to sell spots, or scam, or anything else that breaks the user agreement.
My issue is the advertising of it in game. That is where I think it’s BS. Kick players to sell spots?
So basically I can go into one of these Sell money spots, Tell them I don’t feel like paying and they can not kick me due to not wanting to pay?
I highly doubt thats enforceable.
Do I mind people selling spots (A gentlemans agreement) No.
It’s the friggen advertisements that will completely take over LFG that I have a huge issue with.
I really think ANet needs to address this now if they ever plan on it. I think people that do this are scum and need to find better things to do with their time and not start flooding LFG for money.
ANet, I want to know your stance on this. In my opinion it ruins the community seeing “Selling Path for XXXX” and makes me feel like it does when I see some crappy gold selling email.
Will someone from ANet talk about this issue before it is an issue because I know it will become common soon enough if they don’t stop it now.
I would like to see it rain more often or harder when it does for longer. I like your idea of sandstorms. There should be more snow storms as well.
What they have is good they just need it more dense and for longer periods of time. I don’t notice the weather often enough.
Having them in the hero panel would be good because you’d be able to pull out whatever mini you’d like whenever you’d like without having to go to the bank for anything.
But at the same time I think adding lots of stuff to the hero panel will eventually add too many tabs to it and it may eventually need to be condensed somehow.
But that’s irrelevant – this is a good idea!
Sorry I meant on the paperdoll screen in the Hero tab. Like something you equip.
Then hitting a key would summon it.
Is this a currency?
I would like it if we could equip our minis in a slot, maybe make them like the ranger pet selection?
Then there could be a keybind that can summon them.
It stinks to have to open my inventory every time I move to launch them.
Thats about it, Thanks!
(edited by Tyrantis.8640)
Was this an oversight by the Dev team?
They sure look and act like currency to me… they also take up multiple slots in my bank.
I’m sure you meant these to be included with the recent currency wallet, but if you didn’t, then why?
Thanks!
….and it Sucks that it is Gone
I really think it is a mistake to replace the great collapse with another grand build. Is the Queen Jubilees build bad? No! I just found the great collapse very interesting.
It had it’s own lore that is now going to be replaced.
it was actually a very beautful site with it’s long bridge. They should have utilized the area more without changing.
I always had imagined if they had a secret dungeon only accessed if you fell down the hole. Maybe into a deep river below.
What are your thoughts?
Keep SAB in game. There is no reason to get rid of it. In fact a friend of mine after seeing it, decided that you guys were so awesome he bought GW2 just because of the creativity of the team.
There is literally no reason to get rid of such an awesome aspect of the game.
wow
it’s almost
almost like latency is more dependent on the server and other external factors than your own computer specs, particularly regarding components which have nothing to do with data I/O
who would have thought
Exactly, which is annoying when people say “Get a better computer dude.” I’m preeeetty sure it’s not a problem on my own end.
Ok fine. I get it. I play on Tarnished Coast. It is the most populated server. They are doing something right on it if other servers are having problems.
Sure, look at my stuff at youtube.com/gamertoonsvideo and twitch.tv/gamertoons
Keep in mind streaming/recording results in around a 5-15 FPS drop depending.
I have a 4 month old gaming rig with an i-7 3770k and a 7970, everything top of the line, new, no expense spared professionally built beast machine and the lag is awful. This is not about poor PCs I assure you, this is server side lag. If you ever stick around after a huge, packed dragon event like tequatl, you’ll notice the springback point when everything speeds up insanely fast for just 30 or so seconds while everything catches up after the major crowd teleports out of the area.
Again i say, nothing to do with PCs, my PC runs everything. I have no issues in any zones except dragon events where there are so many people my character never moves. I can turn it down to the lowest settings graphically in gw2 and the difference is minimal.
Some days are better than others, less people always helps. Perhaps by the time you get on most have already gotten their daily chest from it. No clue, but don’t blame PCs
Then how come I never get ‘game crippling’ lag? I run an i7 with only a nVidia GTX 460 with 8 gigs of ram. Nothing super awesome… but better than most friends.
I play on Tarnished Coast (the most populated server) and do dragon runs Friday and Saturday nights (the most populated nights) and I am never unable to move due to end user lag. I have experienced server lag 2 times since beta.
I would say I play around 20-40 hours a week so you know I am not a newbie just blabbing about things.
Is it possible that you are being dramatic? Every event can’t lag THAT much for you if I have yet to experience it at all on my mid-high machine.
Well, I am at quite a few large events (all of the dragons, maw etc) on Friday nights and all I can say is while there is some lag, it isn’t unbearable.
My friends have issues and the difference is their PC is just not as good as mine.
I love the new loot drop system as I didn’t usually do more than a dragon a day. Now I am guaranteed way better loot at least once a day. I can deal with that!
My recommendation is to get a PC that can handle all the people on the screen or wait for development to work on the issues that can allow PCs like yours to handle the traffic (which isn’t going to happen)
What’s worse is that it is inconsistent. Not all collection NPCs are created equal. Some will take your items without needing to talk to them and some won’t.
I completely agree, I think if I have an item that an NPC wants, that is exclusively for that NPCs collection, when I interact with that NPC it should just transfer them. If I interract with them again then a dialogue can come up, but only when I don’t have what they want on me.
Yup this is all I want as well
Distant yourself from the NPC and the dialogue will close out itself.
I know it but it is annoying right?
Hi Anet,
love the game!
One thing annoys me to kingdom come though. Pop-up messages when turning in items to a collector.
If I am in a field where I am collecting apples from a tree and I go turn them in pressing F, why does there have to be an annoying pop-up message when I am obviously just going to turn around and grab more apples.
If there needs to be a pop-up, then why can’t I press (F) a second time to close it… why does it have to be ESC or click the X in the upper right?
I love this game and I am sure anyone would agree that it is annoying. It is in no way preventing me from playing your awesome game and is a minor complaint, but god it’s annoying.
Thanks!
People that complain about ‘broken this’ or ‘broken that’ make me wonder why bother. How hard is it to not complain and just play the game for fun?
Crunching numbers to make the strongest toon can be fun, but what is so hard about just playing the game and enjoying it?
Plus… there isn’t THAT many issues. My brother used to complain about his Mesmer for example (that they weren’t PvE friendly and leveled slow) He didn’t play for weeks because of this. Finally he decided to just play. He ultimately found that he needed to learn his class more and was mad at himself for not trying.
I think that no matter what Anet does, there will be people claiming a class is unbalanced or something needs fixing.
Just play the game already.
[…] I think too many people care about number crunching rather than just playing and having fun.
^ This!
I bought GW2 because it’s not WoW (or so the reviews made me believe).
As a former WoW player… the game isn’t WoW and that makes me happy.
Seriously, the hate towards classes like Rangers (my main), Engies and Necros (currently at lvl70) is getting out of hand. I seriously love the concept of the later 2 classes and want to fully gear them for dungeons and fractals, but the hate they get is terrible and even their usefulness is very questionable compared to the other ones. Please tell me we can expect something on feb 26th
The only time I seem to care is when I crunch numbers. My Ranger is my main and he is more viable than my warrior in dungeons and sPvP. WvW he isn’t all that bad. There is no such thing as ‘ranger hate’
As far as necros are concerned, have you dungeoned him/her? Necros are complete B.A.’s in dungeons and WvW. Many of guildies have shown me how any class is viable in most situations.
I understand where you are coming from, but I think too many people care about number crunching rather than just playing and having fun.
For the same reason that so many people say this game is nothing but a zerg fest… because that’s the only way they care to play. Why coordinate when they can just dps and rez each other? (Also until recently waypoint zerg…)
This isn’t true. When I am in a party (for the most part) we try to do our part. I personally think you are being negative or need to find a better group of friends/guild.
It isn’t all about ‘kill kill kill’ It’s about keeping your party alive so you can take things out faster.
Back on topic. Yes! I believe it is because it isn’t explained well enough via the game.
I think for it to work perfectly it needs to be very fleshed out. You should be able to select ANY kind of activity thats available in the game as the groups target content. From keg brawl mini games to general karma/mob farming, if players can post groups for anything in the game…. That way it would promote community and co-operation as much as possible.
Very, very, very well put
I agree… more of a overall activity/ Party finder.
Better yet, Anet should purchase or partner up with GW2LFG.com and incorporate their menu into the game. It is idle, since you don’t have to mess with it and people will see it no matter where you go. Cities are empty already, just a bunch of ppl dancing holding costume brawls and talking conspiracies. Go to hoelbrak and try finding someone who isn’t below level 20.
I’m not saying your idea is bad, but I don’t think adding a twitteresque chat posting system in game would be the most resourceful thing they could do when they could just as likely add an auto pairing system. Auto pair (auto queue) would be a lot faster.
Faster does not equal better. GW2LFG trumps the WoW dungeon finder in all respects. It is a good thing if peopel are required to put effort into joining a dungeon, even if it’s as small as going to gw2lfg.com.
I played in many a ‘noob’ parties using that site last night. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to choose a dungeon and path and hit a join button and be autopaired.
Are you one of the site owners or something? lol.

I tried out gw2lfg.com last night and I have to say it was pretty useful. I was usually able to refresh the site and join a group in a speedy manner.
I recommend it to others until ArenaNet comes up with a better format.
This seems to be such a 50/50 split between wanting a queuing system to not wanting one. I for one kind of see it as a good idea, as a casual player I do want to get into a dungeon quickly. However from a more hardcore player’s point of view I get that you want to form your own group by using the chat system
I’d say introduce a queue system but if you use that the dungeon is a bit easier and the rewards are not as good. If you assemble your own team and run the dungeon the rewards are better. Kind of like the ‘Looking for Raid’ tool in wow
I do understand it from both ends as well, but at the same time waiting for a dungeon run is a pain. I have a very active guild and they may be running FotM for example… I might want to run Arah.
I really think that dungeon LFG is too old school for me. It isn’t fun to wait. Do I have to? No! If I want the gear for a dungeon, I am sure that ArenaNet would agree it isn’t ‘fun’ sitting around waiting to get in a dungeon group. It is wasted time I could be in PvE events or WvW.
As far as those who complain about turning the game into a lobby, then why not only allow queuing at the dungeon doors? Everyone is sitting there anyways.
Id rather spend an hour running dungeons than sitting and waiting for a group to open up.
My two cents.
You probably are the same types that complained when you found out you could queue in sPvP and WvW.
I think people with those concerns were proven wrong.
I dont play sPvP or WvW. I am not interested in this masquerade that promotes war acceptance amongst young people. I don’t care if it is queued or not as long as I see it only as a free violence between people of all ages under the concept of “competition”
What?
It’s a videogame. Whether it promotes violence or promotes jumping on walking fictional mushroom people, it is fiction.
You spent 60 dollars on a game to a studio that ‘promotes violence’ so it sounds like you pick and choose what your beliefs are at a whim.
Giving a studio that ‘promotes violence’ (which you technically did) is far worse than partaking in a MMO event.
That is like a vegetarian donating funds to USDA Beef farmers.
I don’t get how sending a mail is any less personal than a trade window. What is so ‘personal’ about trading anyways.
You probably are the same types that complained when you found out you could queue in sPvP and WvW.
I think people with those concerns were proven wrong.
- I never knew about gw2lfg
- a simple queue up system that auto connects would be simple to use and quicker.
NO… I absolutely do not want a dungeon queue system. Absolutely not. I don’t want this to turn into a dungeon lobby game where everyone afks waiting to be paired automatically with other random people.
I don’t care what arguments hold water with you… social aspects are important to the culture of an mmo. Manual grouping is important to create interaction between players… we already have enough of them that refuse to speak in party chat and collaborate. It would only get worse if they don’t have to actively request to join your party. Being expected to use a tool that takes all the interaction out of grouping will only further deprecate team tactics in favor of more idiotic “zerker damaj pwnage just for me and no team utility” builds. Not to mention it further alienates players from each other, leading to even less civil behavior.
It’s the same as it is now…. people wait around and type LFG all day. Perhaps if I got my dungeon run done faster (due to not having to sit around) then I would join the rest of the population in WvW or PvE a lot faster. Did you think of that? Also, after people have run a dungeon enough… they already know how to do it. I never have to explain CoF P1 to anyone (for example)
I think you are splitting hairs here. My point is I’m sick of sitting around to play a dungeon. Let me play!
(edited by Tyrantis.8640)
How about the “stand in the main city while waiting for Q to pop” phenomenon that made WoW’s continents completely empty?
It makes the game less of a world and more of a fancy lobby.
Ok sure. Explain how this differs than standing around a dungeons entrance typing LFG all day?
Same. Exact. Thing.
How about it is an option when trying to enter a dungeon. You would check an auto party option for example.
