Really guardian is great for organized team play if you know what your doing.

Solo play is less so. With how easy it is to kite a guardian you run into problems.

Really though all the guardian needs is for someone at Anet to do 3 things
1: Work on mace/shield/torch to make them more of a viable option
2: Work on a few of the traits (some are just laughable, some are meh and some you never want to use at all)
3: Consider giving the more offensive weapons (Sword/greatsword/scepter) some form of cripple (so that kiting is not as bad)

Mace is amazing…

Actually vs other weapons it’s very meh.

This is especially true in PVE & WvW where standing still can cause you to die very fast.
This causes most people to not want to use it because it requires you and your allies to stand in a symbol for a long period to gain the most benefit from it.

Simply cutting the duration of symbol of faith in half but doubling the effect per pulse would get rid of this problem without causing major problems in terms of balance.

The torch & shield also have their fair share of problems.

Dude, thats your problem. All you think about is bunker/support. Who said anything about using it for healing? Just because it has healing abilites doesnt tie its role to simple support. Mace is amazing as a dps meditation weapon. All 3 of its skills excel at doing above average dps. I posted a link to a thread for a build i created. Since posting it i have had nothing but positive feed back from it. In-game with whispers or letters, on youtube even through email. I make my builds through actual combat usage not crunching numbers. The build is great as it is now but the ascended version which I havent released is a vastly superior in terms of stats. Just because :you dont know what you are doing doesnt make it inferior because its not in any way.

I’ve been reading these types of comments for a while now and I always want to just let lose as well. lol Guardian is actually very strong, people just don’t know how to make a proper build.

Guardian is a turtle.

When you see a Guardian in roaming wvw or spvp you know that 2 things will happen :
You kill him because HE CANNOT ESCAPE
You dont kill him but YOU ESCAPE

Its probably the only class that everyone else can kite, even on a GS/scepter/signet build that has 2 immobilization, 1 knockdown, 1 leap.

If its a signet build it wont heal and you can still kite.

If its a meditation he can heal but you can kite him to recover your health – or just permastealth if you are thief/mesmer.

Guardian is the worst roaming wvw profession, because its a full support class only good on zergs, that does not do so well alone, unless the other guy does not knows to play.

Guardians have a good chance beating a ranger, because ranger is as bad as guardian except that meditations give the guard a chance to last longer than a ranger, but again the ranger can still reset the fight by kiting and the use of cripple/kb.

The guardian needs to be buffed, to have a little more mobility to escape or chase, and his cooldowns decreased, only then he will be balanced.

OFFTOPIC:
Imho, the buff ranger is receiving is well deserved but its still too little in comparison to OP classes such as thief/war/engi/necro.

PS : I have 8 character slots, I have all professions

I am still working on the gear for the ascended version of the build (which looks FREAKING INSANE btw!) and trying to get another WvW video out there, but I went to sPvP for a bit and did 2 matches and here is one of those 2 that I managed to record! It’s not much but I didn’t wanna leave u guys in the dark for too long. lol

I didn’t do much in this video. We were losing so I sorta kept coming back to home to defend or recap it. lol

This has been such a fun and successful build that I have a hard time finding another guardian who isn’t running it. And those duels can last forever lol.

I guess if you know how to manage your blocks, actually if you have MASTERED your blocks, then you really can’t fail with this build. Stack that might yo.

Just out of curiosity, ever considered trying out how Purging Flames with a leap/blast instead of Smite Condition would work out with this build?

I don’t do PvP but with this build I was able to take out my friend who does a lot of it, I can only assume how good it would be in the hands of you guys who PvP a lot

Took it back to hotjoin last night (because f*** yoloQ & I don’t have any friends to team queue with — literally, empty friendslist & I’m a one-man guild since release)

This go around was much better. While I suffered more overall match defeats, I was able to pretty much carry most teams most of the time to lessen the difference in score: while opponent skill plays into the outcome greatly, 1v1 & 2v1 is no big deal now. 3v1 brings a little bit of difficulty and 4v1, while rare, is doable. What sucks is going against multiple MM/mes who bring all their “buddies” with them— if you figure 5 minions/player & 3 illusions/player, suddenly the 2v1 becomes a 20v1: there’s simply too many targets & the best you can hope for is to cleave through everything and try to bring ’em down with you.

One on one, no class is really of any issue anymore. With Judge Intervention & GS3/5, there’s enough gap closers to stay on top of your target. If they do get away from you, its a matter of weap swapping to M/F, and Focus 4 with Mace3 + Focus5. They’re blinded enough to allow enough time to get Mace2 off, and by the time that happens M3/F5 has expired and you can swap back to GS and stack GS4 on top of the M2.

Condis still give a little bit of problem, but I’ve found it to be more of a l2p issue. After adjusting the timing of Smite Condition & Contemplation of Purity, I’ve found myself suffering less and less from condis (even going as far as to take on a hambow warrior while standing in his fire). Well-timed CoP can make you immune to condition spikes… it becomes more like “I’ma make you—” “wooo! moar boons!”

The crowning achievement last night (aside from hitting r20-lol) was getting called out as a target/having the crosshair placed upon me. Apparently I was doing enough of something right to make everyone of some side want to crowd up on/near me.

The r20 was nice, albeit nowhere near as nice as taking down those double or triple your rank and hitting ’em with the deer (and now dolyak) finisher.

As said before, overall great build. The only issue I have is slow movement speed, but I don’t want to get rid of those delicious strength runes

this thread needs to die. lol I have done some PvE content before and mostly it was about standing on top of a mob and spamming skills with the occasional dodge. oh wait I had my blocks so I didn’t have to. Was funny because I was a DPS meditation build. In fact I was always the only one who didn’t die. I was the only person keeping the bosses from being reset. My build is self sustained with 20+ stacks of might using GS, M/F. I have my own heals blocks and blinds. When you create a build it should be self sufficient in its own source of dps, boons, heals and survivability. Going down your power, precision, crit damage trait lines is not making a build. a true build utilizes every small trait, rune, sigil and food. the most insignificant things can always turn out to be the most important. Your a fool to think the only way to do dps is by going full zerker. exactly why ur asking for heals. u are the scrub not the dps guardian. lol

Yeah, well, how effective was most of that healing? Just because you can burst heal for a few second and then basically be dead in the water for a few minutes, doesn’t make you an effective healer.

While Tome of Courage is down, a guardian with healing breeze and a staff will heal for around 120k per minute (so 720k in 6 minutes) in group healing.

healing for 2000 per second does not stop a zerker player from bursting you down in 2 seconds. If you are a 18k HP ele and a mob hits you forv25k with one attack or 15k with two seperate attacks you will still die. healing is only as effective as your damage mitigation from blocks, blinds, protection or…. dodge rolling. But if you are doing all those things already you aren’t taking damage and if you are it is very little. Thus healer is useless. The same way my DPS medi guard cuts through a warrior’s healing signet and still kills them in a few seconds.

People saying it is called “Guardian” for a reason… Guardian =/= healer. To guard is to prevent or mediate. Thus blocks, blinds and protection… boons. I do not understand how ppl got healer from guardian. The ppl who can’t dodge the 3 second cast time telegraphed attack from an NPC is a liability and should be kicked from the party not the guardian who runs what he wishes becuz he knows how to play his class. lol anyone who thinks guard is inferior to another class as dps does not know how to play guardian. If you can’t run ur zerker build without dying every few seconds in PvE you need to learn how to play or get out of the party.

Ok, so I took this build into hotjoin last night to finish my Balth track and completely dominated for the most part. Being able to down Svanir or Chieftan in Niflhel before either home gets capped is a big plus.

There were a few times where I was overconfident stupid and charged into a 3v1/4v1 scenario and would get downed pretty quickly, but not before doing serious damage & taking a few opponents with me.

Mesmers, turret engies and MM necros were particularly fun, as a GS 5-4-5-2 combo makes quick work of player and his toys.

Boon-heavy and condi-heavy builds weren’t quite as fun. While the former was dealt with easily enough by brute force, I found myself having issues against condi-heavy builds—Contemplation & Smite Condi simply couldn’t keep up.

I went tit-for-tat with warriors of all kinds. I’m not particularly well-versed in warrior builds outside of hammer stuns, but I can tell you it was those usual builds that gave me issue & there was one sword’n’board/rifle that kept reappearing in a few matches that was really annoying.

Necromancers were, for the most part, easy enough. A small handful would cause issues with DS-Plauge-DS chaining ( I simply could not deal enough damage to kill them and I was dumb enough to keep hammering on them instead of breaking loose).

Thieves were annoying, as ever. However, GS 5-4-2 is usually enough to make them think twice about targeting you: you’re already pumping out the damage, you’re gaining might for every crit you land, making Retaliation hit harder and harder for each time they strike you.

The biggest issue I have is mobility. Judge’s Intervention & Leap of Faith are excellent gap closers, but they aren’t great for trudging across the map. Even so, because of the slow movement and might buildup involved, I’ve dubbed my norn guardian “the Steamroller”.

Now, I will say this: all testing was done in hotjoin, so keep that in mind. In addition, I’ve mained necromancer since beta, with my guardian being a year old and still under level 40 (lol). While I would like to fancy myself a fairly well-rounded pvp-er with GW1 Factions—EoTN (necro & ritualist main) and WoW TBC—Cata (lolpally & spriest main) under my belt ,there’s always a chance that some of the issues I ran into simply involve not being adjusted to a guardian’s playstyle.

Overall, I really like the build!

The build works awesome for me ! I switched the rune to travelers in a couple of matches and still was able to output a lot of damage.

Any idea when you might post the ascended version of the build?

I would like to see Meditations and Virtue of resolve with better Healing Power scaling. Reduced cooldowns for some of our weapons. Writ of Persistence and Writ of Exaltation being combined into one Adept trait would be awesome.

Also, I am currently in the process of creating a new upgraded ascended version of the build. With not only an improvement of current stats but significant changes to certain stats to promote variety with sigils and food. Increase maximum DPS to make those extremely high numbers more consistent and an increase in survivability. I do not have the gear to test it out yet, but another goal is to eliminate any celestial gear from the new version of the build for obvious, absurd time gated reasons. The stats are looking awesome so far but I will just need to test it out for you guys.

I’ve got a few questions about this build/Guardians in general.

I play a Mesmer as my main. I have since basically beta, and I do enjoy it, but I’m looking for something different to keep me interested in the game. I play a Hybrid PU Build right now, and use a Greatsword because I just got the Legendary Sunrise. So I’m looking for something new, that uses a Greatsword as it’s main weapon. I’m trying to avoid Warrior because it looks boring/easy, and I don’t think Ranger is a very good choice to main Greatsword… (maybe I’m wrong? Anyone know?)

Anyways, this build looks like a LOT of fun, and it looks to be very durable/tanky. I’m wondering a few things:

1) Do you find the lack of Ranged attacks make you useless in WvW/PvP situations when people run? What sort of “gap closers” do you have besides GS3?

2) Where does a Guardian / this build get all the boons from in your videos? This might be a newbie question, not that familiar with Guardians, but I see you always have really good upkeep of boons, which I like.

3) Is this power based mostly, or does the build play like a hybrid as well, focusing on conditions too?

Any huge weaknesses/drawbacks to the build?

I really like the idea of it, but I find on my Guardian now (It’s only 20…) I have almost no access to swiftness, can’t catch people if they run, and feels very clunky. I presume this is just because I’m level 20 but… any insight into the class/build is appreciated.

[Feedback Thread] New Crown Pavilion First Impression [merged]

The truth is, even if you up the loot drops to what they originally were it still isn’t exciting. When I get a loot drop I should be EXCITED. I should feel like I just found a legendary item. When I pick up a weapon dropped from a legendary mob it should be so great that it automatically replaces anything I am currently using.

While I will affirm that your feelings and opinions are valid, I must respectfully disagree. If every drop replaced the gear I was wearing then the feeling of excitement would lose its novelty, and really nothing would feel special or hard earned or rewarding at all in the game. As it is, waiting around all day on teamspeak with TTS and playing the right-click + join game and then running successful efficient runs for hours on end will still only net you mainly greens and rares, and perhaps a few T6’s, which is only worth a thousandth of a legendary. So for those who have a legendary, a legendary should feel just that way- exclusive, rare, and special. If everything that dropped was a “legendary”, nothing would be legendary.

I’m sorry, I guess I worded wrong. However, I didn’t necessarily mean they had to be better in stats. Although I wouldn’t mind being able to drop weapons or items from a boss that spawned once a day or every few days or something. Every LS they add in new skins for black lion tickets. If they want to add in new skins, I’d rather they increased the variety of the current skins on weapons that currently drop. What I mean is, you can drop a weapon with a certain skin in queensdale then go to another map from the charr or norn area and get the exact same skin multiple times. Finding something that looks awesome seems to be the only thing fueling LSs these days. Feels like most people check dulfy for the new skins then determine right away whether or not they will bother with this LS. OR they slave through all the repetitiveness for useless achievements. Not to say there aren’t people who actually enjoy the story.

Farming an easy boss with a 40 man zerg over and over again for a few tickets to get that skin isn’t as cool as an epic fight that everyone you know has failed numerous times. A fight that you had to rethink your strategy and create an entire new build. Where you solo’d an entire dungeon and killed a dragon meant for a party of 5 then walked up to it’s corpse and looted a sword made from part of it’s body that can only be dropped if you solo’d the dungeon then your reward and fight feels much more rewarding. Not only do you have an awesome looking sword but it’s like a trophy, a badge, a real token of your achievements. Then when you say “bro, i finally got that new backpiece!” the response isn’t “how’d you get 1000 dragon wings that fast?!” or “You were up all night?” but instead “How’d you beat that?!”, “What was your build?”, “Got any tips for the final boss?”.

Then 6 months later when someone asks you, you can say “Oh yea! I got this skin from soloing blahblahblah. I was the first person to ever beat it!”. Then follow up with an entire story of how difficult it was and how you finally managed to win an impossible fight.

Hey all, just a quick note. Earning higher tiers of reward in the Boss Blitz in the Queen’s Pavilion is a great way to earn Festival Tokens, and Queen’s Gauntlet tickets – the rewards that the other activities within the festival give as well. If you check your inventory, you should see the tokens & tickets you have received.

TBH, I looked for the vendor that gave you the skins in exchange for the festival tokens. I was hoping the selfless potion would be there since i missed that when it was available. However to my disappointment it wasn’t. That is fine, perhaps it will be available again some day. With that said, there is nothing else that interests me about any of the LSs. I think most people play to get a new skin. However, most of the skins don’t look good with anything else or coordinates well with anything or is just another “fire” skin.

I have been playing since beta weekends and I have never been excited about I drop I have gotten since release. My first exotic was BEFORE the initial drop nerf in the first Crown Pavilion., and it was a bow that I could not use on my ele or my guardian. Which were fully geared with SEVERAL different WEAPON, ARMOR and TRINKET sets already.

The truth is, even if you up the loot drops to what they originally were it still isn’t exciting. When I get a loot drop I should be EXCITED. I should feel like I just found a legendary item. When I pick up a weapon dropped from a legendary mob it should be so great that it automatically replaces anything I am currently using.

PvE was fun at the launch of the game because there were many people to socialize with no matter what map you went to and the items I got were worth something(when I was still leveling). Everywhere I went there was someone trying to complete the same thing I was doing. It is no longer launch. Players have leveled, spread out and are looking for the most effective place to farm drops for legendaries or ascended gear.

Instead of nerfing the few bosses that give decent loot in an attempt to get players to play other portions, maps of the game. Why not try increasing the quality of loot on a whole from all mobs in all aspects of the game.

Instead of nerfing crit damage and increasing the HP/damage on bosses to make content difficult(which is doesn’t) why not try something more dynamic. Example: lower damage of a boss, BUT increase the amount of attacks and AoE he does. What I mean is, instead of one giant attack here and there. He does numerous, limitless, endless smaller attacks that keeps us moving, dodging, healing. Instead of one massive, damaging AoE, have 20-30 smaller AoEs scattered about that inflict a few conditions or something followed by quick large AoE melee swing in a 180 degree arc in front of the mob that knocks back, does moderate damage then a leap to stun anyone in front of that arc followed by a spell that cripples everyone within a 360 degree radius, etc. The options are endless. I’m just saying that PvE is lackluster in this game. Nothing feels important or exciting no matter whether I have seen it or not.

The fact that you have to dodge a single attack every few seconds and mobs have ridiculously high HP is WHY people go full DPS in PvE. Why would I run something other than full glassy DPS if there is no danger to make me run anything else.

The loot is not exciting, the mobs(models, centaurs, spiders, elementals. etc) are consistently used over and over again. The attacks are the completely and utterly foreseen and are few and far between. The initial encounter with a mob is not threatening and thus has no excitement or sense of adventure. When I enter a higher level map for the first team I should be worried whether I will survive for the next 10 minutes instead of looking at how many hearts, vistas and PoIs I have to slave through. (I haven’t gotten 100% completion since launch on any character and probably never will because PvE is so bland).

I have never felt the difficulty of the battles, the might of the dragons, the fierceness of the Ascalonians to help me relate and get interested in the personal/Living story. I would rather have a long 30 minute fight that constantly kept me on my toes, dodging condition clearing, the timing of DPS and healing THEN LOSE with one or two more hits left on the boss versus spamming my combos and winning in 5. I should lose my first encounter with a boss and make me rethink my strategy or build. Everytime I come across a new enemy/boss I should feel extremely cautious, almost terrified of letting him come close or what crazy attacks he is going to do.

This comment isn’t about fixing the loot, it’s about fixing PvE in general…. :/

UPDATE***

For people concerned about “mobility”. I believe I have found a fix.

Switch “Runes of Strength” for “Runes of the Traveler” and use “Bowl of Seaweed Salad”.

Runes of the traveler will give the extra +25% movement speed as well as a portion of the old might duration. The food is used to substitute the old +8% modifier while under effects of might from the strength runes. Th food will give you +10% damage while moving. This is a mobility fix for GS and M/F while still maintaining mights stacking and high damage. However this fix will not work with Sword mainhand “Zealot’s Defense” skill as the move requires you to stand still to use it.

With that said, if mobility does not bother you, you can still run the new food stated above for insane dps with the strength runes.

I tried this build in TPVP and I was very disappointed in the might stacks. I just dont see the sustained fighting needing to get the might stacks in the 15-20 range which imo is what would be needed for it to put out really nice damage.

idk what to say, i have no problems getting might stacks in t/sPvP. Could be an error on your part. :<

Honestly it is the runes you could go alternate with hoelbrak.

+45% might duration and 7% damage pretty much all the time isn’t a small thing. There would be no reason to run strength sigils or battle if you didn’t run the runes because air/fire or force would get you better Dps. They still get you better Dps even with strength runes but I see you are going with a might stacking theme.

Air can put out 1400+ damage with good power and modifiers. You need a lot of consistent might to keep up with that extra damage. I think your underestimating how important strength runes are to your build.

I completely forgot about the +7% while under the effects of might. You’re right. lol
Like someone else said, if mobility is the problem run GS, sword/focus.

The selling point of the build is not the Runes of Strength to be honest. It’s the Empowering Might, Might of the Protector traits and the Sigils of Battle and Strength that make the build. The Runes just complimented the build even more. Rune of Strength only gives one stack of might for 10 seconds with a 25% chance of activating on being hit with a 5 second cooldown. It’s perfectly feasible to use other runes and still stack the might you need. The major difference is a little less power from the Runes and 20% less might duration. It may make maintaining the might a bit harder but it is still possible.

I know your build is for PvP, but is it ok for PvE or would I get murdered by everything? I have a guard that, at this point, is set up for team support in WvW, but if I decide to do some mapping it would be great to have a build that doesn’t hit like a limp noodle.

The build focuses on Criticals hits and blocks to gain it’s might and superior DPS so I would imagine it would still work for PvE content. Even without the might it can still hit hard like any other Meditation DPS build.

I have the gear set up for PvE/WvW in the guide.

wvw roaming is so hard these days with all the condi easy cheesy builds and all the blob who jump on you until you find 1 enemy to fight

@Tyreal can you check my build i post on “power melting guard”
i saw it has the same concept of might stacking with sigil and with some calculate i saw it could do much more dmg even with only 15 stack of might as burning tick longer and higher
but i find it really hard to fight versus pu mesmer and pd thief

I have never used a Condition Guardian build or tried to be honest, but I guess I’ll give it a try.

I cannot take seriously PVP videos where the guy you are fighting sits inside your Symbol of Wrath for the whole duration while taking a WW to the face.

Show clips with more competent players please.

At first you would think that sPVP players are more competent than WvW ones, but after this last patch its no longer the case.

It’s not necessarily that they are incompetent that they stand in a symbol. Either they haven’t noticed me just yet, they are rezzing someone, focusing or trying to down an ally. Maybe they are just trying to DPS me down. Binding blades or other CC from allies come into play as well or simply not having endurance to dodge out the way.

However I understand where you are coming from but I can’t just show you videos of competent players. I have to actually fight them first. Most of the clips from the first video was tPvP Team Arena. tPvP is full of either bunkers or glass cannons. Bunkers think they can tank me and get a face full of DPS and glass cannons think they can take me down first so they still get a face full of DPS, so….. yea.

I started off in solo roaming in WvW, after SoR died I didn’t have anyone or anywhere to play with. The guild I was in pretty much died off and split. So I started playing sPvP more.

With that said, I’ll see what I can do? Or if you have time, test it out for yourself. Maybe you have better luck coming across more skilled players. lol

- Do you like full glass or do you like a little bit of tankiness? Both are great choices. I use Berserker.

Runes –
(Rune of Strength)
(1): +25 Power
(2): +10% Might Duration
(3): +50 Power
(4): +15% Might duration; 25% chance when struck to gain Might for 10 seconds(13s with might duration). (Cooldown: 5s)
(5): +100 Power
(6): +20% Might duration; +7% damage while under the effects of Might.
-25% to gain might when foes hit you? Okay. An extra 175 Power? Nice. +30% Might Duration? Pretty cool. +7% Damage while under the effects of Might? Which we will ALWAYS have? AWESOME!


As players have shown concern for “mobility” in WvW for this build I have an alternate fix that will still provide the dps of the original build.******

(Rune of the Traveler)
(1): +8 to All Stats
(2): +5% Boon Duration.png Boon Duration
(3): +12 to All Stats
(4): +10% Boon Duration.png Boon Duration; +10% Condition Duration.png Condition Duration
(5): +16 to All Stats
(6): +25% Movement Speed

- Will give a portion of the orignal Might duration, +36 in all stats as well as the requested +25% movement speed.

Food:
(Bowl of Seaweed Salad)
Nourishment (30m): 60% chance to gain Swiftness (10s) when you kill a foe
+10% damage while moving
+10 Experience from kills.

- The food is where the “fix” comes in. It addresses the problem of losing the +8% damage modifier from the strength runes. By giving +10% damage while moving. It will also give a 60% chance for swiftness upon killing a foe npc or player. This is a mobility fix for GS and M/F while still maintaining mights stacking and high damage. However this fix will not work with Sword mainhand “Zealot’s Defense” skill as the move requires you to stand still to use it. This issue does not exist with GS M/F combo because you can move while using any of this weapon sets skills.


Sigil –
2 (Sigil of Battle)
Gain 3 stacks of might (20 seconds) when you swap to this weapon while in combat. (Cooldown: 9 seconds)
- 3 Stacks of might for 20s(26s with might duration)
2 (Sigil of Strength)
60% Chance on Critical: Gain Might 10 Seconds(13s with Might duration)
(Cooldown: 1 Second)

WvW – Will only list differences from sPvP otherwise it’s the same.

Gear –
Armor -
Head – Celestial or Knights
Shoulders – Celestial or Knights
Chest- Celestial or Knights
Gloves – Berserker
Legs – Celestial or Berserker
Boots – Soldiers or Sentinels or Zealot’s
- I used full exotic pieces. Use the alternative sets listed if you do not have celestial gear.

Trinkets -
Necklace – Ruby Orichalcum with ruby jewel
Earrings – Ruby Orichalcum with ruby jewels
Rings – Azurite Orichalcum with Azurite Jewels or You can use the equivalent of Soldiers.
Backpiece – Ascended Celestial Doesn’t matter too much, use what you have.
Weapons –
Greatsword – Berserker
Mace – Berserker
Focus – Valkyrie Only because that is what I have.

Sigils – You will still use Sigils of Battle/Strength, however I recommend using either Sigil of Bloodlust/Perception for stacking.

Sigil of Bloodlust – Gain a charge of +10 power each time you kill a foe, five if you kill an enemy player. (Max 25 stacks; ends on down.)
- Using Bloodlust will give you an additional 250 Power. In total you should have above 3300 Power equating to over 4300 Attack.

Sigil of Perception – Gain a charge of +10 precision each time you kill a foe, five if you kill an enemy player. (Max 25 stacks; ends on down.)
- Using Perception will increase your base Critical Chance to by 12-13%.

Food -
(Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Butternut Soup)
+100 Power
+70 Ferocity
+10 Experience from kills
(Potent Master Maintenance Oil)
+Gain Precision equal to 6% of your toughness

Skills -

Heal (#6) -

(Shelter) – Block attacks while healing.
- I chose Shelter for it’s blocking capabilities. If timed right, can be used to gain maximum stacks of might for an amazing burst of damage that can completely turn a fight around.

Utility (#7-9) -

(Smite Condition) – Cure a condition and damage nearby foes.
More damage if a condition is cured. Damage with no conditions: 207 (0.58)? Damage with condition: 463 (1.31)?
- Can be used for rogue conditions, but mostly used for offensive power and a source of Fury.

(Contemplation of Purity) – Convert the conditions you are suffering from into boons.
-This is used to mainly to deal with condition builds, and occasional healing. Can also be used as a source of Fury.

(Judge’s Intervention) – Teleport to your target and burn nearby foes.

Elite (#0) -

(Renewed Focus) – Recharges virtues.

Weapon -

Greatsword -

  1. - (Strike) Strike your foe. Third hit will give might.
    - Powerful and quick. Will crit as high as 3k. THIS SKILL CLEAVES USE IT!
    * CLEAVE – Cleave is an area of effect property that most melee attacks have allowing them to hit up to three nearby enemies in front of the attacker or hitting one opponent more than once with a single swing. *
  2. - (Whirling Wrath) – Spin in place and swing your greatsword while hurling powerful projectiles.
    -A major damage dealer. Will crit as high as 7k. Average is about 3-5k. Try to use around multiple enemies in tandem with Smite Condition for maximum damage and Might Stacking. When fighting Enemies with multiple “minions” such as Necromancers, Mesmers, Spirit Rangers, Thieves or Engineers using turrets this combination will make quick work of them and will prevent your enemy from bursting you and effectively making them defenseless for a short period of time.
  3. - (Leap of Faith) – Leap at your foe. On hit, blind nearby foes.
    - A gap closer. Engager. Escape and if it Crits can do a nice 2-3k damage.
  4. - (Symbol of Wrath) – Pierce the ground with a mystic symbol that damages foes while granting retaliation to allies.
    - I normally place this before I use Binding Blades and Whirling Wrath combo.
  5. - (Binding Blade) – Throw blades at your foes, causing damage over time. Bound foes can be pulled to you. The effect ends when a foe moves out of range.
    - Using thins AFTER placing a Symbol and BEFORE using Whirling Wrath is an effective burst AoE Combo that can amount to over 15k damage in total from Whirling Wrath and symbol ticks. Easily over 20k+ damage if used with various other skills.

Mace -

  1. - (Strike) – Strike your foe and heal yourself and nearby allies on third strike.
    -It may be slow but it is extremely powerful. Can crit up to 3k. THIS SKILL CLEAVES USE IT!
  2. - (Symbold of Faith) – Smash a mystic symbol onto the ground that damages foes and regenerates allies.
    - My usual combo, is to pop #5 from Focus while running into or unto a point with enemies timing this skill to land the moment I am in the center. FOllowing up with Mace #3 to get hit, block and explode for bust damage AND to protect my #5 skill so that it explodes for burst damage. A quick 10k+ burst combo.
  3. - (Protector’s Strike) – Surround yourself and nearby allies with a shield. Damage foes that strike protected allies. Grant protection to yourself and nearby allies if you are not struck.
    - Normally used as an offensive skill. Against oppenents with multiple “minions” this skill is great for dealing with them quick and easy. Also nice to use when closing on kiting opponents to finish them off with one good blow.
    Focus -
  4. - (Ray of Judgement) – Pass a ray over foes and allies. Foes are damaged and blinded. Allies gain regeneration and cure one condition.
    - A decent damage dealer. Can be used when an enemy backs off to heal. This skill will nullify all if not half of an enemies heal. Tricky to use, but if used correctly can potentially crit up to 1.5-1.8k with up to 3-4 hits. making it quite effective at that point. It is also ignored by most opponents which makes it all the more deadly.
  5. - (Shield of Wrath) – Create a shield to block the next three attacks. If the shield is not destroyed, it explodes and damages nearby foes.
    - A very good defensive AND offensive skill. Can be used to secure an escape, block a stun or CC attack or to simply annihilate any unfortunate soul in the vicinity with a potential 4-6k AoE burst.
