i’ve seen threads get removed due to the fact they make accusations though, if the thread started out as such wouldn’t that be on topic? not trying to troll you or anything it just seems all these video’s screen shots or topics seem to disapear very fast and it doesn’t matter where they are

i enjoy fighting thieves, once you learn to counter the opening attack from them its pretty much game over, and sense 90% of WvW thieves are the same spec there really isn’t a whole lot to pay attention to as far as trying to figure out what spec he is

i thought they removed any posts that had anything to do with hacking / exploiting? and really that would be what the talk is about sense last nights events

yes morf i’ve got about 500 hours or so logged on a thief character, and culling is when the server prioritizes what it should load first so it doesn’t bog down your system, so even though a thief will pop out of stealth after 3 seconds most of the time you cant see him because he hasn’t been reloaded by the server… its how they attempt to have lag free WvW its not just thieves like this though entire zergs will be invisble if they moved fast enough onto you

ya its culling thats op for any class that can drop in and out of stealth , makes for some interesting thief on thief fights though :P over all though the las is fairly balaanced it jsut doesn’t seem so when undergeared people who get auto leveled to 80 take hits… sure i can back stab you for 12k but a warrior can kill shot you for 16k and he isn’t called op.. its just the fact ppl cant see you due to the culling

any class at the hands of a good player who knows it can be “op” i’ve faced mesmers that destroyed me in seconds then 20 minutes later faced a mesmer i could roll my face across the keyboard and kill. i’d say its more about the player then the class

they did but if people cant come to the forums to complain about the fact its Anet’s fault there bad and not themselves, what ever would they do?

personally i’d stick with mes, im leveling up mine now to get my vigil award unlocked , and already have a thief and an ele at 80, i think you’ll find what ever class is your main will seem to get nerfed more due to the fact your paying attention to that class and not to the others. as far as the thief goes you cant really compair weather they need to be nerfed to a WvW setting sense half the guys there are under leveled and geared. on our server we host a video compition and the last weeks winner came from a mesmer… after watching his video i re-rolled mesmer :P lol

im trying this out in spvp and it seems to be working , pretty much hitting a CnD going into stealth unloading with that first skill outta stealth dodge roll twice then go back into stealth, while in stealth it heals my conditions and heals myself, and with signet of malice and that unload thing it gives me tons of hp back

i used a varation of your venom / caltrops one as a support thief / scout in WvW passed basilisk venom and skale venom to my group before a fight and while wearing tough/vit gear with the swiftness and caltrops traited your pretty much uncatchable. was very good at not getting killed

i dont think they need to increase it, i’ve gone threw about 3 – 4k badges on WvW gear and seige you just need to kill ppl and remember to grab the bags as they drop instead of running in tagging ppl and getting killed

if you have a class like an ele or a thief that can get a passive buff you can run the eb puzzle in about 7 minutes, if the arena is being camped those halloween backpacks actaully act as a torch so you dont need to get rid of your stealth buff and it will last long enough for you to get threw the arena , thats a good 14 – 18 badges in less then 10 minutes

i’ve logged over 800 hours now between myself and my kid and we still enjoy it

you cant really check our thief forums for help in deciding… the entire forum is other class complaining about us. i would say though thief makes a great addition to small roaming groups but as far as seiges and zerg fights i’d go necro

i actually try to avoid d/d tank ele’s and guardians as a burst back stab thief because of there stats and mobility i find them to be very hard to kill, i would rather pick the guy standing still in an open field not paying attention

tell me , have you ever played a thief before? depending on your spec you can have great survivabilty like you mention , but you need to trait into the last 3 area’s with isn’t your crit or power ones, so you do lose damage, how do you come to the conclusion that burst backstab builds also have great survivability ?

a glass cannon ele can crit with a metor shower on my glass cannon thief for that easy enough

im getting close to 1000 hours played and im still having a blast, 95% of that time is from WvW

also a geared ele can hit me for 7 – 8 k the fact you mentioned you hit for 2k would lead me to beleive your below lvl 80 and not geared

so you post a screen shot from 2 months ago of a skill that got nerfed after this picture and you come here to cry op? its scrubs like you that are ruining this game

you would think people would be happy about this sense the thief needs to spec properly to do this… pretty much giving up damage the more thieves that do that the less people will qq about our burst

one of my traits wasn’t right, ment to grab the one that cures a condition every 3 seconds while in stealth… and cant figure out how to edit that post :/

it tends to end up looking something like this in WvW

my thief is running a 0/0/30/20/20 bunker build with venoums trait, in a 5 man roaming group im able to spread my basilisk venom , which is my elite to the whole team , the damage solo is ok but not bursty, but that build lets me get jumped by multiple burst thieves and live.

im also getting kicked out of game every few minutes, and unable to get past anything with a loading screen, i’ve tried with different chars and repairing files, and nothing seems to work

i used dagger / pistol to level, its decent dps and if you time your black powder right a mob can stay blinded the entire fight and never hit you , also things like scorpion wire can be helpful to pull tougher single mobs rather then getting the whole group, once your in a pvp setting however i wouldn’t use this setup

im running this build and i’d say it ranges from 1 – 2 second kills, but your only good for it once every 40 seconds

i went 0/0/0/20/30/20 as a bow user that gives me a ton of mobility and escapes, your damage is not the greatest but the fact that you can surive pretty much anything comes in realy handy, i mostly WvW in 5 man groups although i tried a dungeon yesterday and came out of it with a 0 repair build while a guildy had a 15 silver bill. dont have the exact build sense im at work and not home but im enjoying it

your skill stacks with your traited

you get 10% movment for being attuned to air you can trait it which will give you 5% speed for every 5 seconds your in air , up to a max of 25% so now your at 30, then you can also add that 33% on top of your 30

prob running the burst back stab build, stealth, steal to close the distance followed by the 5th skill on the d/d build forget what its called to put him back into stleath, all the while hitting you with back stabs for 9 – 18k also the server usually takes a second or two to load him back on your screen after he’s left stealth so it could seem like he was staying in stealth even when popping out then back in 3 seconds later

i think the tree from the rangers and the aoe fear from the necro’s are one of the best things to steal… thats just my opinion though

kept about 12 IoJ people at the front of tkitten juping puzzle by repeatadly hitting them in the face by the logs for about 1/2 hour … laughed my Kitten off every time i would see a group of them fly off the ledge

the one you get from the level 80 campaign has good stats but doesn’t show up on your back

i saw lots of killing… only watched the first 20 minutes though

i would say yes and a very good one, although you need to change up your playstyle to do it well, the guy who posted this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/epic-thief-pvp has a video of someone from the french server using his bow as main and doing very well with it

i would say no but its situational, your not going to want to be running a glass cannon build that can decimate a few ppl but then fight along side the zerg in a 50 vs 50 fight, in a roaming group that is taking locations moving and fighting other small groups i would say they excel at, how ever for zerg action or keep defense i prefer pplaying my ele

even when you transfer you’ll still have your guild, because you can be in more then 1 guild you just pick what one you would like to represent . and guilds can have members from differnt servers sense you can all do pve content together thanks to the overflows

im not focusing on the story as my main goal so when i actaully get around to doing them i can knock out 3 or 4 quests and still be a higher level then they ask for, just take some time and try crafting or WvW its fun and great xp
