Woah woah woah. I kitten love WvWvW. I don’t really know what you want out of duneons other than “Epics”, which will never happen unless Anet caves hardcore to standard MMO design. But WvWvW is bloody brilliant.
I enjoyed capturing keeps, supply camps and I don’t agree with those who think wvwvw is all about zerging. It requires skill, strategy and a lot of teamwork, I liked that but you know, I can keep doing it yet I won’t earn something I really need or want. I just would like to see this changed.
I still think about logging back in to farm karma on Orr but I think I just need to take some time out of GW2, that’s all
You’ve basically blitzed, inside of 3 weeks, the content that will take 90% of the community the next 3 months to do.
This is correct, actually. I just wish there was something that would keep me busy in the game while ANet is preparing a content update.
Good job, you have eaten up all the content. When a game gets boring, that means its time to move on. I’m not really sure what else you are expecting here…
WvWvW has great potential, so do dungeons. I was just expecting them to be better, more fun. If they were, I’d keep playing for at least five or six months. I’m still around because I’m still expecting ANet to improve these two fundamental events of endgame.
Luckily for you there isn’t a Sub fee! Oh did you by chance check out WvW or SPvP???
Of course. As I said just right above, WvWvW has great potential to be an awesome, epic endgame content. But currently, it is just badges and providing pointless buffs for your server. If it had something like personal & guild rankings and gave me karma and/or gold for all my effort, I’d keep playing.
sPvP is fun if the random guys on your side play good. Otherwise it gets annoying. If I care to find an sPvP team, it would be fun but still, it is all about repetition.

Of course, once we figured it out, it was a joke.
CoF magg’s path was a joke too, and you know what happened.
Blizzard did the same mistake with Diablo 3, tried to make players play the game the way Blizzard wants, ANet is trying to do the same it will end up exactly the same.
Orr’s all mobs, imps, dredges and any other mob that has ridiculous amount of CC
So what? Some likes GW2, some doesn’t.
Dungeons are boring though.
I’m under 350 hours and bored. Details are below:
I have two crafting professions leveled to 400. You might say I should level all professions to 400. Here is my answer:
It cost me 7g to level weaponsmithing from level 1 to level 400, ‘without any gathering, farming’. So I’ve bought all materials from TP and it still cost me 7g. I have 25g atm so I can have four other professions maximum leveled if I farm 3g more. I wouldn’t do this, because this is repetition.
I have 100% world completion.
I have full exotic gear. Armor, weapons, accessories. You might say I should start collecting skins. I already have a bunch of dungeon skins and I don’t wanna get more, because it is nothing but just repetition.
No need to mention level 80.
You might say I should do all dungeons’ explorable modes and I say no, because it is nearly impossible with casual players. Not blaming them though, dungeons are designed for leets only.
You might say I should craft a legendary. I already have bloodstone shard and two gift recipes, as well as two gifts of exploration. I can farm 525k karma for obsidian shards but I wouldn’t do that because it is repetition. I can’t farm 350g because CoF got nerfed and even if it weren’t, it was still repetition.

Not sure, depends on how frequent the content updates will be. I’ve done everything except for crafting a legendary and it took me about 3 weeks. I could do it faster if I wanted to though. So that means, 3 weeks is the max amount of time that I’d take to finish a content update. I think it will be like 3 weeks playing, 5 months break, 3 weeks playing the new content, 5 months break, 3 weeks playing and so on.
I’m not turning back to the game too, until I find a professional dungeon guild/group. They are now impossible to finish with regular, casual groups.
I’d turn back immediately if they implemented some kind of personal&guilds kind of WvWvW rankings.
First of all, it’s not even a month.
I pretty much have done everything possible in GW2, except for crafting a legendary.
It was fun when I was leveling yeah, but this is not something new since in many MMO games, leveling is fun.
I didn’t know GW2 demands you to be a casual player if you want to have fun. People blame you when you say that game ends too soon and there is nothing to do once you hit 80 because they tell you that you have no life.
I think GW2 will receive good content updates but for some reason, I don’t feel like I really, really wanna play some more. I was done with MMO games before GW2, this game could earn my interest so yeah, I gave it a try and it felt like the old times when I was leveling -I don’t mean that leveling is just like the old games because it is definitely not-.
It took me two weeks, getting a full exotic gear set, dungeon skins, full world completion, mastering crafting professions. I really don’t have a reason to enter WvWvW because I’m not interested in crafting legendaries and WvWvW is totally useless if you’re not gonna craft legendary items.
So yeah, I think my GW2 experience ends here, for now. I’ll check content updates though but I think they will be two weeks long packs even for casuals, so I’ll probably finish them in a week.
GW2 gets 9/10 from me for everything between level 1 and level 80. As for beyond level 80, I can’t give any points because there is nothing really there, after level 80.
(edited by Valkyrie.2678)
When you want to have 525k karma in a week, sorry but you must grind and you don’t have the right to complain.
You should lay it on time and have fun.

I can’t believe you guys really posted in this thread and I can’t believe the OP really wrote that.
Pick up a guardian, stack up nothing but healing power and enter a dungeon with your friends. Try to play healer and please, don’t cry when you get wiped over and over again.
It’s not really possible to heal people in this game. You can provide a little support yeah, but everyone has to take care of their own heads.
p.s: However, you can do some good self-healing
I’ve read that it is an upcomming change.
Devs read forums and since I’m not like “NOOOOOOO!!”, I choose to stay quiet because I’m not a designer or developer for ANet, they know their strategy better than me right?
The thing I wanted to say was, only being my own opinion that ANet either wouldn’t implement it or implement it in the way that prevents casuals from getting their game experience ruined.
Hold on for a second, you are confusing me. I’d agree with you if we had the classic gearing system. But since our gear will all be on the equal level, only the looks will differ. And I think it’d be pretty cool to be able to see who obtained what, and what style they went for with their character. That’s all.
Not always. Some guy might has a couple of rares, a couple exotics while the other guy has full exotics or I dont know, green ones.
Exploration of dungeons is not required to get 100% world completion. You must explore all PvE maps and WvWvW areas and that’s it.
1. It depressing to look at
Orr is the place Zhaitan unleashed its curse upon, what were you expecting? There is still Ganderran Fields if you want to pick some daisies.
2. TO MANY MOBS ( Getting to point A to point B Is impossable With killing 50 mobs before you get there)
Yes because Orr is like the heart of Zhaitan’s army.
3. Events Suck (very basic Kill this Collect this Defend this Kill this Giant thing that takes 16mins just to kill it and get kitten loot)
Agreed. Orr events are nothing different than other maps’ events. Orr should demand different kind of effort, strategy and such.
4. About 1 in 4 events Skill points are bugged
They get fixed.
5. To many Skill points ( To many Basic commune SP )
That’s actually good.
6. Very bad loot
Yep.
Friend, I’ve said that name visibility in WvWvW should be optional. So if someone is a “noob” and doesn’t want his name seen, simply check a small box in the options meny that says “hide name in WvWvW”. Problem solved.
And me personally, noob or not, I don’t mind having my name visible. And I’d want to un-check that option.
No one is at loss, everybody wins.
I haven’t seen your post about optional visibility of nicknames in WvWvW, maybe I was just not reading haha. It would be a nice feature, you should start a suggestion topic.
However, this is not the point, point is the armory thing that is never coming to GW2. If a player wants to pick only the well-geared guys, sorry but this is not that kind of game. That type of thing is old as any other MMO than GW2, this is a new game with a lot of new, nice features.
At least they could add a system that automatically puts badges in your inventory so you don’t have to get paranoid about missing badges
Discovery crafting may now use items directly from a player’s bank.
awesome one
Added a system to limit the experience and gold that players can receive from speed-farming dungeons.
oh no
Level scaling and cosmetic-only gear progression make things way easier for casual players, so that they can enjoy the game even more. While you’re just playing the game, you may get an exotic item and this can’t be happening in other games since exotic items are top tier items and casuals playing other games never get top tier items.
That one sentence alone is a recipe for fail. Being different just for sake of being different (dismissing quality features just to be different) isn’t something one should take for guidance.
I sincerely hope ANet would rather make a COMPILATION of all good things ever implemented in a game and improve on them further, rather than try and fail in being pioneers/revolutionaries.
There is level scaling because ANet doesn’t want upper-level guys to come farm on lower-level areas and ruin casual players’ game experience.
User nicknames are not visible in WvWvW because ANet doesn’t want some smart nolifers to keep running after the same players that are known to be ‘noobs’.
Here are two quick examples for you, that show ANet’s vision on this topic. The feature you’ve been talking about would make things terrible for casuals.
By the way I’m not a casual. As a full exotic level 80, I’d like to see casuals in my dungeon party because to be honest, they are the ones who know how to enjoy a game. It is the time a game starts to suck when casuals are pushed out of it.
That would be pushing people to explore and there is no pushing in Guild Wars 2. Well, at least for most of the time.
Norn Guardian and Charr Engineer so far. Pretty mainstream
The other will be Asura Mesmer, Sylvari Elementalist and Human Thief
Apparently you missed all the exclusive dungeon armors and legendary weapons. There is plenty of stuff in the game for those that want to inflate their kitten. It’s just not going to be obtained if you only play 1 hour a day.
No I haven’t. But the OP wouldn’t be interested in legendaries and dungeon armors since they have regular, exotic item stats. He can’t feed his ego even if he wears a legendary while there are many other people wearing exotic items.
On the other hand, I really like this feature of the game.
The fun in skill trees is coming up with a build for yourself that is both effective AND mechanically interesting. The same can be said for skill trees as far as “google the best build.” The system doesn’t matter, there will always be players who are too lazy to come up with anything on their own. Whether it’s traits or skill trees it doesn’t matter.
You can still have a build of your own, thanks to slot skills and trait system. Now tell me you didn’t search for GW2 builds on the net.
In addition, runes and sigils are creating differences between builds a lot. While there are features like traits, slot skills, sigils and runes, if you’re complaining about lack of ability to make a build of your own, it is just your problem. (that you is not personally you, I’m talking in general)
(edited by Valkyrie.2678)
Any person who types that in is already riddled with failure. There is no “best” there’s “best for situation A, B, C, D, ETC” This game is as complex or as simple as YOU the player want to make it. Can I run around with a Greatsword as a Ranger 1-80? I sure can! may not be optimal, but I can. However, if I really want to utilize my profession and my abilities to their full potential I swap out, I’ll read my abilities, my traits and my skills.
So, if the game seems too simple to you. If it seems like there’s just not enough meat to it, you have only yourself to blame.
I don’t understand why you’re flaming but I’ve done enough spec crafting on Diablo 2. Path of Exile has a huge skill tree like an ocean, you might quit GW2 and play PoE if you wish.
You know what I was saying is right. When there is skill tree, everyone asks Google for the best build. There is never variety of builds in a game that has skill tree. If you claim that there is, you’re just wrong and not realistic, either you’ve never played a game that has skill tree.
This is the most fun I’ve had in a game (mmorpg or otherwise)
I still say Assassin’s Creed (single player mode of course)
GW2 is the best MMO I’ve ever played
My download was flawless but I’m getting firewall error now
It’s been a while
What you missed was not a Dusk or Dawn so chill.
If there are any skill tree fans out there, let’s be realistic now. When there is a skill tree, you just go on google and type “best <class name> build”
If you were expecting killing giant monsters for giant stat gear to show off, nope, there aren’t any. There are giant monsters though. There aren’t much ego feeding in GW2, sorry.
Yes. They are in Orr. When you win a Temple event -balthazar, melandru, lyssa and others- there appears an NPC that is selling gear for karma. Among what it sells, there are one or two power vit toughness armors. So what you’re gonna do is, you’re gonna check every NPC in front of every temple for different parts of your power vit toughness set. There are all six parts, so you shouldn’t miss any if you have enough karma.
42k per piece by the way.
Exotic armors are endgame armors for their attributes and stats, yes. However they are not the best looking ones. Some of the dungeon armors or most likely, cultural armors are endgame, best looking armors.
You might want to check Chantry of Secrets. Google it, there are videos that show its location.
This was the last tricky POI that was keeping me from 100% world completion.
Focus needs some serious work in my opinion. That should stand out some more because it now looks like, well, it is hard to even see it actually.
I agree with you that most scepters don’t look nice. There are couple of designs that look good though.
There are several bosses with one-shot skills and I really don’t know how to evade those attacks. I’ve never seen a warning.
I think nothing from WoW will be implemented to Guild Wars 2, since this is a game that is trying to be something different -as much as it can-
Also, as said many times above, it would cause elitism against casual players. ANet is well aware of elitism, you can see that they are from many features of Guild Wars 2. So if I were you, I’d never expect a feature to be impletemented to GW2 from WoW because these are two different games.
There will probably never be a 1v1 dueling. Even if it will, balance will be its own so players won’t have the chance to feed their ego by dueling with their primary PvE or PvP characters. Answer to question why is, when it comes to 1v1 it is never possible to end the crying on forums, websites etc.
There are already nice answers here. Still, I’d like to add;
ANet has never got a security breach. Hackers didn’t steal passwords directly from ANet’s servers but instead, some fan websites and other places. That was Blizzard who didn’t notice there was a security breach for longer than a month.
Bugs are always there to be fixed in time. Coding is complex, tough, tiring even for an engineer. Luckily, ANet addresses issues quick enough.
As for male female thing, how do you tell a male dog from a female dog? -No offence charrs- That’s called being realistic. I know, it is not always necessary since this is a fantasy MMO, but it would be so awkward if it was very obvious a charr is female. Think about the Charr, their culture, theme. It’s undertandable. Same for the Asura.
Last, you are never able to create that ‘perfect’ game without actually launching it. This has been talked about why many times so, I don’t see it necessary to type more about it.
Have fun!
Chantry of Secrets. That should finish it off for you.
You are the man. I was talking about that kind of trick, and yeah you’ve got it. Thanks a lot!
If it is basically all PvE maps where you collect hearts + all WvWvW maps, no tricky stuff, no hidden stuff then I must have missed a POI in PvE maps since I’ve just explored all through WvWvW, so I’m sure it is 100%.
However, I never leave a PvE map without fully exploring it so I don’t think I left a POI on any PvE map.
Question: There is a ‘The Elder Dragon’s Lair’ POI on the last instance’s map and I missed it, could it be that? I missed it because in that mission you fly above that area so I didn’t know how to get it.
(edited by Valkyrie.2678)
Did you get the hidden one in Lions Arch? It is in the sewers.
Is that one included in Lion’s Arch’s own world completion? I have 100% exploration on Lion’s Arch and I don’t recall a hidden POI
You need all PvE areas and WvW areas for the world completion
However even with all the hearts, vistas, PoIs, and skill challenges you will not achieve 100% for that you will need to start looking for areas on individual maps off the beaten path. You can use your explorer tab to see what areas you are missing
I don’t understand.
I’ve just finished all WvWvW maps and I’ve already finished all PvE maps, there is still one last POI missing. Hearts are done, vistas are done, skill points are done, waypoints are done, POI’s are 716/717. Is the last one at some special map?
(edited by Valkyrie.2678)
Which areas should I explore to achieve 100% World Completion?
I have explored all of PvE maps and some areas of WvWvW map, I’m at 96%. What got me confused is it says there are 30 vistas and 43 POI left. I don’t think I’ll find all of these in WvWvW map.
As far as I see, POI’s in dungeons don’t count as exploration.
So, what am I missing?
(edited by Valkyrie.2678)
Have you clicked on the other tab? Dungeon armour vendors sell a basic set of armour in one tab and the cool dungeon sets in another.
No I didn’t. Duh, a nooby mistake. Thanks a lot!
They look all the same as a regular, low-level armor set. What happened?
I’m quite sure that Kodan will be added as a new race with the first expansion pack. I mean, it is obvious.
