I’ve taken part in the event many times, and while some have been successful, it seems the chance for mistakes that can snowball into a failure is very high.
Relying on the turrets to cleanse the zerg, and relying on everyone to be stacked tight enough to benefit is usually too difficult to do consistently, and people constantly go down from the waves which are right next to the zerg point.
I have been thinking about an alternative way to take him down, and it might require a bit more organization, but I think it could work out well.
The key would be to break the zerg up into parties of 5 or 6, and each group could stand at one of the fingers that spawn around teq. Each groups job would be to focus on teq and as soon as the finger they are assigned to comes up, burn it down.
This should, in theory, take all the pressure off the people attacking teq and also remove the pressure for people on the turrets to do a perfect job, which lets face it, doesn’t happen enough.
With the pressure off the turrets to cleanse continuously, they can focus on skill skill 2 and 1, to add more DPS to teq.
3 people per turret set, 10 people defending each side, 3-5 killing only fingers closest to the turrets and between teq and the turrets, and the 5 people per finger around teq comes to 82-86 players.
I know this is a perfect situation, and with afkers it could be very difficult to organise, but if enough people could gather together and be organized, it could be a good way to fight Teq.
Additional players could form up in the normal place, since all the pressure for from the poison should be greatly reduced.
So thoughts, if its a good idea, a bad idea, if it could work or be tweaked?
I think it has potential
There are plenty of people in their own servers who have never been able to get into the main map to attempt it. With an event based around one single boss, it would make sense to increase the pop cap for that map.
This has probably been said before, but if there is one thing that really needs to be seen to, its increasing the population cap.
There is almost no chance to get into the map shy of going there an hour before the event and waiting, otherwise its just not possible to get in.
Trying to do it in overflow is very difficult since there aren’t as many players and its hard to organise with any sort of team speak.
So an increase to population cap would make a huge difference to quality of life for this event.
Plays guild wars 2. Doesn’t join a guild…..
Where is that picture of Maggie Gyllenhall crying when you need it?
For the OP, the point people are tying to convince you of is that this is actually solo content, just the label is off. Its not like “oh ha ha this content is so easy I can do it solo, lol!!!”, it really is meant to be played solo, and it also is really meant to be played as a group. Its not mutually exclusive. You may pick at that suggestion for 5 players all you want, and say that this is group based gameplay only, but the reality is, its not. Its both, truly.
Just…give it a try. Or don’t, as is your choice, just realise its not Anet that is limiting you with this release, its yourself

Logan signs the paper and nods at the Mysterious Asuran before opening the letter
Logan Thackeray: It’s from Snaff!!!
Logan begins reading the letter
Dear Logan,If my calculations are correct, you will receive this letter immediately after you saw the Asura gate struck by Kralkatorrik’s lightning.
First, let me assure you that I am alive and well. I’ve been living happily, these past eight months, in the Season of the Zephyr, year 1256AE. Kralkatorrik’s lightning bolt…
Logan becomes excited as he interrupts himself
Logan Thackeray: 1256! Season of the Zephyr, 1256!
Mysterious Asuran: Wait, kid! Wait a minute! What’s this all about?
Logan Thackeray: He’s alive! Snaff’s alive! He’s in old Elona but he’s alive!
Mysterious Asuran: Yeah but kid, are you alright? Do you need any help?
Logan Thackeray: There’s only one Asuran that can help me!
Logan hastily runs off into the cold, rainy night
Ha ha , I see what you did there, well played McFly
You should get someone to show you where the invisibility shrines are, they give you a goodly length of stealth that allows you to go through the jp fairly unmolested.
The drawback is you cant use skills to speed yourself up so the jumps can be tricky if youre used to having a speed buff up for your jumps.
But yeah, its an alternative to getting ganked. It might work
The main issue with these things is they dont seem nearly as rare as rare weapons and armour, I usually get 3 of them per 5 chests
I just did the new molten facility dungeon with a group of random players, and it was a good run, everyone was doing well. We managed to beat the final boss with no one dying, but before I could get the chest, the person who entered the dungeon first left the party after they had grabbed their loot, kicking the rest of us back to wayfarer foothills with nothing.
When i asked this player what the deal was, i was put on ignore.
Is it possible to report this person? and if so, what option would i select? I dont want the chance for receiving a ban for incorrect use of the report system.
I would like to make a suggestion, if you feel so strongly about the lack of guilds specifically set up to do DE chains, how about….making one?
You know, recruit people solely for the purpose of doing those said DE chains. That way, you and your new guild could be the trailblazers and put the information up there yourselves.
Just a thought
I havent seen this one around but it would be interresting.
Jaysson Bjorn – Most likely a norn theif
Dont give in, fight it. If you were wronged, show them how you feel about it, demand they look into it further. Mistakes DO happen on their end, and it is entirely possible to be banned for no good reason, especially when farming. Some people just dont understand, and just because they do not farm themselves, they automatically assume what they see is botting.
This happened to me and I made sure put my points across consisely and adamantly, and I was returned my account because they realised their analysis was in error.
I may be wrong, but doesn’t magic find affect only monster drops and not chest drops? Effectively, since the best stuff you get from dungeons is chest based, wearing mf is only useful for a relatively small amount of the rewards you will be getting. Please correct me if im wrong though
