most my wxp isnt from killing zergs.
it all comes from flipping keeps/towers as fast as possible with as little resistance as possible. it is only possible because of the tier my server is in and as soon as we move up/if we move up, this will no longer be possible.

also tagging isnt the best option. zerg busting the same group over and over again will reward u very little.
you need to rotate which servers zerg u want to hit and space it out so that when u do hit them you will be rewarded with 40+ wxp

Yes, I don’t base this on Nightcrew. Yak’s bend Nightcrew is a little bit weaker than your guys. But their NA crew is strong/consistent. Just saying after having fought you guys for some time now.

By this comment I see why you think yaks are good.

I’m merely comparing fighting Yaks to you guys, and not their position in the tiers. But if I were to use the tiers themselves as basis, then they are stronger than you guys because they were able to maintain a tier 3 status more consistently.

In the case of kaining, we fought them at their prime. And when CD herself had more people than we have now.

24/7 score of 0-80 daily was very depressing back then. And the only pride we had at such time was they couldn’t take one supply camp in our borderlands despite having taken everything else, because every CD player would bunker down on that one spot out of desperation.

My goal was not to fight, it’s not smart to fight against 10 people looking for you anyway, but it was overly fun to say the least. Better keep watching those doors.

If this is the thief that runs the all stealth build with the little quaggain pet out all the time….you succeed at being annoying…(and a hint to people trying to follow where he is…DON"T FOLLOW the pet…it is a distraction and is not where he is…it lags behind)

I hate to be the one to mention this- but there are a group of CD who are using exploits, I just had a CD mesmer wave at me, jump THROUGH the gate at mendons, then proceed to portal his team inside.
I know CD are a good server, with good people, but stuff like this really reflects badly on a server.

I’m curious as to where you got this info? I’m from YB and so far as I know there hasn’t been “a whole bunch” of dragonbrand transferred to YB. If there has been any it’s definitely not many, no significant guilds consisting of 5 or more players have come over. All of DB’s major guilds are still on DB.

The reason why you feel like they have transferred over is because Yaks Bend is finally recovering from a lot of drama that occured within the server. Many guilds were not happy with each other and refused to work with each other, or to even go on wvw all together. But things are finally sorted out and the YB alliance has been reformed and as a result we are more effective in wvw now. Hence why YB has performed a lot better over the last week.

p.s Can’t wait for Mag to come up to t3 already!!! DB/YB/Mag matchup will be fun for sure!!! Oh and Mag… last time we fought u versed a demoralised YB server that didn’t really care about wvw. Don’t think it’ll be the same when you see us in t3. Look forward to seeing you on the battlefield

Earlier this week Maguuma came into SBI BL and took garrison. This particular event, there were somewhere between 10 and 15 SBI defending and what appeared to be 30 to 40 goombas (affectionate term) attacking. The attack came from the SW outer gate, and into the west inner gate. We (SBI) took out a good chunk of the attacking zerg, at various choke points, but we were still overwhelmed in the end, and mag got in and up onto the roof near the vista.

I was the underleveled shortbow thief that was shooting at the cieling chasing the masses of red tags I could see up there.

Someone from Maguuma tried to party with me. I didn’t accept at the time, because we were in the middle of defending the garrison, but they stopped trying to party after the fight was over when I would have been happy to party up to talk. Not sure if this was an attempt at talking (hey, got some tips for you… or you suck, just give up on WvW… etc) or if this was an attempt to track me. If it was to talk (even to tell me to give up) I’d still like to know what you wanted if that was you. If it was just to track me, sorry I didn’t accept, but that’s why I don’t do cross-server party during a fight…

My favorite part was when you guys started the breakout and we saw siegerazer coming and we’re like “oh kitten!” But then we continued fighting while dodging razer, arrow carts, and a cata from the tower. Mumble was great. “SIEGERAZER, NO!” “WTH JUST HIT ME?!” ahahaha

It seems to me that the answer is pretty obvious. You truly prefer to command a zerg in-game, but you claim on these forums that you enjoy fighting outnumbered adding that players just flock to you, all in a vain attempt to justify your numbers advantage with excuses.

Here’s a hint: If you really want to skirmish outnumbered, don’t command and don’t encourage puggers to come assist your small numbers.

also its not only ppl on the map that sees the icon that flocks to him, ppl on our community mumble look for him cuze he has proven and led us in many great battles.

when we get about 20+, our mumble channel has about 15+
when we get about 40+, our mumble channel has about 30+
when we have a queue on the map our channel is about 60+

Mag already has a kittenty rep so there is nothing to ruin …
also i have never seen NtSD but that may be cuze i never play EGB

and we hit SBI just as much as CD. we enjoy keep karma train and we flip both side with equal love

You all run a nasty hammer train but were easy baited out of towers. When you came to hit our SBI BL’s this week with your culling mess of mag zerg, it was refreshing to see you only use one golem, that was actually never really used. We knew that with the numbers and party make up, that you we could not take you on head on. So broke up our numbers and baited you out of Longview and out of Cliffside and took both towers back. Our two commanders did a great job of coordinating with each other.

Our strat was to keep you occupied and moving you where we wanted to and it worked fairly well. Its just not about brute force and numbers but understanding what your opponent has and how you can combat em. Nice pushes on the Garrison but you never got into our inner and we repeatedly pushed you out till you left the map. Was a fun night of running to combat your big pushes and will always give that zerg you run props for it toughness but with what we had to work with, considered it a victory for us.

if u are talking about the golem that shoots rocket, well at first it wasnt to take towers or keep but as a mobile siege equipment seeing as each rockets hits for over 2k splash dmg. and as tsarazi pointed out, we werent aiming to hold anything. if we start trebbing garrison it is to pull u guys out of ur keep.

There is no way that a truce to double team one server will effectively happen and I have no desire for SBI to get involved in this sort of game play. Sorry CD, fight your own battles. We are fine on our own and no need to feed the Mag forum warriors <3.

As far as turning the map green in EB, it happened with outmanned blinking on and off for us. And earlier while you all had a Que in EB, we didn’t have a Que and took SM and smacked the crap outta your paper zerg repeatedly for a good 3 hours. At one point for a good hour, you all couldn’t even reach SM outer gates. Not sure what the Mag strat was, other then mass more people and bring golems. MAGOLEMA!! Our EB commander logged off, as he had work, and we basically gave the map to you as our numbers dropped dramatically.

I wish the crews in our other maps would actually put up the fight that our EB crew does. Its frustrating running with anyone other then Bannok, Bermier, Cicc and will throw Werty and maybe Grundle in there, if he is not running that stoopid karma train. He has gotten better in defending and upgrading lately.

Mag has lots of numbers this week, seems more so then the previous week. Large zergs in at least 3 different maps that I saw. Not sure how you all don’t do well in tier 3 with the numbers you bring, and your far superior tactics :P. Gotta love the fairweather players….

Well u are talking about the EBG zerg which comprise of mostly kittentated earlier. so props to you for smacking them around. maybe next time they would stop insulting the more competent commanders on EBG and follow him/her.

also MAGOLEMA in EBG is not very effective. the bl MAGOLEMA is a lot more organize although we do have the occasional idiot that steal a golem or 2.
your crew on your BL most likely dont even have the time to get to the keep before we finish flipping it.. 12sec per paper gate so maybe 3min tops to flip a paper keep.

we are getting a lot of fairweather but most of our players are waypointing from one map to another so atm we might have 2 queues NA prime time while the other 2 maps are mostly unoccupied.

Mag doesn’t have “more than enough players” 24 hours of the day. Even during our prime time, we are calling in people from other BLs to assist in an attack or defense for another BL.

There are hours of opportunities to attack Maguuma, and it’s been proven already. You can’t sit there and speak for other teams and act like you know every single move they will make and by your judgement, attacking a certain target would be pointless. At times, SBI and CD has more than enough numbers to overrun us, to say a dp would be pretty stupid is nothing short of cowardly.

“it makes sense to attack the easier target” but how is that fun? I don’t get why everyone just loves this PvDoor game to the extent that they will actively avoid fights. Jeez, is Maguuma the only server that just goes out and does what it wants instead of always worrying about “abloo abloo if we leave then they’re gonna attack us!”?

Edit: But I guess this is why we hover between tiers and will never be the best. We have no desire to join the upper tiers and we will have fun at the cost of points. Double Edit: Of course we’re not the only ones that do this. But our opponents always seem to be servers that worry about points and kitten they don’t actually know is going to happen.

Well in all honesty, our golem crew have been trying to avoid as much combat as possible and flip keeps/tower as fast as possible.

Even with large forces from all sidse our group found many small skirmishes at camps and else where.

There was the one Maguuma 3 man havoc made up of 2-thieves and 1-ele I believe at north camp….that were just awesome …and they knew it! I forgot to make note of the guild tag.. Very skilled and VERY annoying…it took us forever to kill you guys! GJ!!…and now please go to CD and annoy them..lol.. Actually…it would be great to have a fight club night sometime when and if things slow down…I would love to get some tips for my ele play!

The main thing I hate about this match up is having to say “Maguuma” on voice comms… I know it’s not that hard…but I seem to butcher it a lot… =/

Is defense even worth it? Say you take a keep, or garrison, or even stone mist and hold it. You have to hold a camp and protect dolyaks to get upgrades. While you are holding your objective, the rest of the map gets taken. Say you hold it for 2 days and feel great you have your keep. What did you accomplish? How much karma, silver, loot did you gain?

Now, if you take something, leave it and move on to the next target, and keep moving, not defending anything, you will have continuous karma, silver, loot coming in and none lost from siege weapons, upgrades, etc. Enemy takes it after you leave, and then you come around and get it again for more karma, silver, loot, etc.

well i do agree that it is not worth holding anything for a long period of time but it is always fun setting up death corridor and farm the kitten out of them before they overrun you.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen TC stack for might… or have more than 20% of their zergs be level 80.

We are not taking this tier seriously, we are just trying to have a casual relaxed time without falling too far behind.

We have a strenuous time in T2 and most of our non-hardcore players needed a break. So they’re out there having fun. So don’t insult our server as a whole when you’re playing against people having fun and not having access to key components of communication. We don’t want to be hear and you don’t want us to be hear, so chill out and just have fun. We’re TC, we know how to have fun. And a lot of Mag and DB players have learned that as well and have been doing fun stuff with us on each BL, I know that I’ve personally made some Mag and DB friends from random fun encounters in the world.

So just a thought I was having, if Mag is so convinced they are amazing I’d like to see at least 1 video of them wiping groups instead of them just talking. (I’d hope one person would at least be able to) I know we have a few in TV who are going to start recording all of our stuff mostly for our own benefit but all this “We wiped you X times and you never wiped us” talk just seems silly from what I’ve experienced so far seeing as I had 500+ kills on Saturday on an upleveled guardian with no elite and I’m already starting his 2nd stack of badges at level 29 I’m just tossing this up here in a hope to see some video’s by Mag and DB since it’s always nice to see the opposite side of the field yours truly a humble TC player.

Its WvW, not spvp. Small groups have thier place in PvP maps or in the lower WvW Tiers. WvW in T2 will always be about larger groups. If Maguma ever hits T2, you’ll figure that out pretty quickly.

In T3, we all sorts of small teams out and about. Used to do it quite a bit myself. But, TC had to adjust tactics to stay in T2. Now old habits are still there back in T3. But why would we want to re-train everyone in T3 tactics when we don’t want to be here for long?

T2 still needs dedicated small groups doing small group stuff to support the Zerg’s conquest…

All I can say is at least Yaks and Mag can drop down a tier and clean up every few weeks to make themselves feel better. Dragonbrand has been stuck in the middle (as the only true tier 3 server) and gets defeated by the T2’s that come down. No fun at all. And there is no change in site.

So just a thought I was having, if Mag is so convinced they are amazing I’d like to see at least 1 video of them wiping groups instead of them just talking. (I’d hope one person would at least be able to) I know we have a few in TV who are going to start recording all of our stuff mostly for our own benefit but all this “We wiped you X times and you never wiped us” talk just seems silly from what I’ve experienced so far seeing as I had 500+ kills on Saturday on an upleveled guardian with no elite and I’m already starting his 2nd stack of badges at level 29 I’m just tossing this up here in a hope to see some video’s by Mag and DB since it’s always nice to see the opposite side of the field yours truly a humble TC player.

its not hard to stack up on badges on an upleveled character when all u have to do is run with the zerg and steam roll any small group.

not saying u guys dont have any good players but hardly have i seen any tc roam around alone and if i do find 1, two or more tc would not be far behind.

People keep saying that TC has more numbers then DB/Mag and at times this may be true but from what I’ve seen of Mag they run 40-50 man zergs which is far over anything TC will usually run. I’ve seen Mag groups of ~60 running on EB which brings me back to the SoR days so many bodies being thrown at choke points I know that I’ve seen good things from BP on DB had trouble with them yesterday stopping me from taking Valley all in all keep up the good fights hope to have many more as the week goes on!

wut mag was actually able to get 50-60 ppl on a map this weekend? props to whoever was commanding at the time for rallying that kind of numbers

Anet needs to make golems similar to other siege in how the owner of the siege (the person who dropped the blueprint) to take control of it and kick out other players from the suit.

It is infuriating when you spend a few hours refreshing them and saving them for future keep/tower siege and some newbie uplevel player refuse to get out and take them out for a walk into enemy zerg.

It also cost 1g for alpha and 5g for omegas and it is ridiculous when someone highjacks it and there is nothing u can do about it.

this needs to be fixed and i believe many other wvwers feels the same

Congrats you have more people in your server then the other two servers especially more kiddies that are still in school since today on a holiday it seemed FA had their entire server at a time where its normally empty. When you go back up to Tier 2 eventually and get stomped again because Kain and BG have more people then you then you’ll understand how it feels. Vicious cycle of WvW.

Believe me we know, we were in a similar situation as you are now for months against TC. Which is why i feel the chest thumping by certain FAers is out of place as the main reason we’re winning is population and, to a lesser extent, coverage.
