We have only gotten 1 exotic since the patch and that was on Jormag. As for normal loot, we have not seen anything including a rare on any normal level 80 content which includes events, champions and veterans. I don’t know how else to explain this except as a bug because it clearly is not working as intended and unfortunately nobody that can comment can be bothered it seems.
I don’t understand why nobody from Anet has responded to this. Not everyone is participating in the AMA and to make matters worse this question didn’t even make the list which i cannot fathom.
Please can we get an answer on this, it is obviously completely contrary to the patch notes as many have pointed out, so disappointed right now.
One last question from me if you have the time to ask it:
Is the loot bug, as seen in this thread intentional, are you aware of it and when can we see a fix? You fixed the droprate for dyes pretty quick but this has been a problem since after lost shores.

I think this is a must question because it will have serious consequences on all current areas of the game considering it is the backbone of the game’s economy. Please include this as there has been no official response to the questions raised on the forums.
Well i hoped all the staff had a nice holiday weekend! Now is it possible to get an answer on whether this bug is in for a fix at this point? Someone needs to address this before it continues to negatively impact the game.
Please don’t allow people to derail this, i don’t want to see it closed prior to Monday and we get some answers. This is critical to every other aspect of the game and I’ve followed it closely since the 15th and can flat out tell you the loot drops are nowhere near what they were previous. This is a major bug and will cripple many aspects of the game if it isn’t fixed.
I’ve just done the personal story which left me almost 60 copper shy even using the mists to travel to get to my next story location. This is so bad i cannot even afford to do my story quests without dipping into my saved money. I know this isn’t a game crashing bug but now it’s affecting normal progression, so I urge someone from Anet to fix this as soon as possible. I’m at the point where I’m quitting progress of all characters until this is sorted out, i can’t even afford to travel at this point. This is a major bug and will destroy the game economy within days.

Tested lower level mobs using various levels, 80 in a level 75,70,65,60,55,50 and so on with virtually no difference in quality and quantity of loot. As mentioned in the first post this isn’t just about the quality but the outright quantity of the loot which has dropped substantially. It’s a bug, no doubt.

If anyone has a Reddit account, perhaps this can be added to the list of questions for the Monday chat with C.W. considering loot is the basis for everything from money to crafting to gearing the effects will be wide spread until this bug gets fixed.
Well that makes absolutely no sense at all, this has nothing to do with hardware at all and is obviously as i said previously a bug of some sort because the pattern is the exact opposite to the patch notes. This most certainly has nothing to do with their hardware or anyone’s for that matter, that being said i would appreciate the thread being left here for the Dev’s to see on Monday.
Not sure which thread you are referring to but this isn’t something that will go unnoticed, not everyone is hanging out in the Fractal dungeons. I’ve also tested with MF and straight gear with no discernible difference.
Well the further i get into testing each different scenario the more I’m convinced this is a bug because it truly is the exact opposite of the patch notes. I know everyone is away for the holidays but i hope this gets flagged and dealt with Monday. The more detailed the information the better so i encourage others to post their findings and keep this bug visible.
Actually i was comparing things with no magic gear to ensure the numbers were original and not affected by the magic find gear. I’m 100% positive this isn’t right and the only things i have not seen affected are chests at this point. I guess we won’t know anything until after the holiday weekend. I am saddened by the lack of information especially something this critical.
Well i just tried going from one zone to another and saw no change at all. I am going to try the Shatterer in a few minutes to see if that changes things up but on a normal 3 hour evening i am selling repeatedly and at this point i have played an hour and haven’t even filled a half pack with most of the loot being claws with a value of less than a silver.
This is not my imagination and i would really like answer on whether this is a bug and if there is a plan to fix this, and preferably before everyone is gone for the holiday weekend, please and thank you.
Well i jumped into a level 70 area with my 80 to test things a little further and out of 30 kills i got loot from 6 only with 2 blues and the rest trash. There is no doubt in my mind that loot has changed in both frequency and quality, can we please, please get a confirmation of whether this is a bug?
I am very concerned about the change in loot parameters since the event patch. It seems to me and I’m not the only one that the quality and frequency of loot in open world events has been turned down substantially.
As an example, I did several champions and a dozen events over a 3 hour period and the best piece of loot I received was a green torch with the vast majority being white junk items and a couple blues. Two of the champions failed to drop any loot at all which is completely opposite of the patch notes;
“The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.”
Perhaps it was an unintentional side effect to the adjustments made regardless this is my main concern;
One of the main reasons for my wife and I gleefully jumped into GW2 was because of the freedom which allowed us to play together and tackle a vast majority of content as a duo. The game offered this on virtually all fronts, from making money, crafting and gearing our characters to leveling together all the while remaining competitive.
The current change in loot distribution either purposely or accidentally seems to force us into having to group to do dungeons in order to accomplish these various goals and goes against the very principle of the game’s design and our play style. If we wanted to be pigeon holed into having to run dungeons to be successful we would have stayed with WoW, Rift or every other MMO out there because that is their core design.
This for the most part even goes directly against the comments made by Chris Whiteside’s latest response to the addition of ascended gear as quoted below;
“Ascended and infusion rewards will be available in both PvE and WvW over time, and be made available through all sorts of content around the world including existing content. As you know we care very much about your support and opinion and are listening intently to what you say.

In the end I guess my question really boils down to this;
Is the downgrading in open world loot whether intended or accidental going to be re-adjusted so those of us who prefer open world content either solo duo or in whatever fashion can continue to remain competitive?
I know the notes said drops were adjusted for the positive, but I’ve just killed 2 champions back to back in Orr one with a blue bow and one with nothing at all. I’ve also noted that the amounts of greens have decreased dramatically since the patch. Heck I did Jormag and got nothing but blues which seems odd based on the notes. Is it me or are there others out there noticing the same thing?
Been level 80 for a while and my loot was also level 78, not sure why but it was fun regardless.
The event albeit long was never boring and required strategy to get through and successfully complete. Our group had a blast doing this and hope to see many more in the months ahead!

Trust earned can be very rewarding, trust lost very costly and hard to regain. Put me in the lost column on this, and I’ll have my voice heard with my wallet, no more gems no more support for breaking this trust. Poor decision on Anet’s part and it will prove costly in the end, for every one person who wants this carrot chase10 more will leave because of it.
I will not be referring this to any of my friends for this weekend, because frankly it won’t be the game I’ve raved about as of the 15th.

As I posted back 20 pages or so, the biggest issue for me is how they disseminated this information through 3rd parties before bringing it to their fan base that has caused so many to be concerned and potentially misunderstand the concept. I know a blog is in the works but i think it would be beneficial to get some feedback sooner rather than later to calm the crowd so to speak. This is a critical change to the game philosophy if true and will certainly bring some serious backlash from many which again begs the question, why not clearly spell this out before releasing this info to 3rd party sites?
This is what happens when limited information is released to third parties before making your customer base aware of the thought process going forward. Rampant speculation is all that can be drawn on because the fan base have no clear facts and this causes undue stress to many players, myself included.
The old adage that even negative publicity is good publicity just doesn’t fit in the gaming industry because it spreads faster than the Risen population often leaving misconceptions that can never be countered or corrected long term. This title was misinterpreted as being a purely PvP game which lasted nearly to the release date and still holds true today for some, so in my opinion I highly encourage the release of some OFFICIAL information refuting the “gear grind theory” before this causes a similar misconception.
However if it is true that you are headed in this direction, shame on you for misleading so many people.
Well I am a realist and I highly doubt they’ll leave this class broken and are already working on fixes. I’m hoping someone at Anet sees this and can give us some feedback regarding the upcoming patch. I would love to see some kind of static feedback put out regularly whether through posting or blog.
It pains me to think I may have to park my favourite character and roll something else purely on the need to rather than the want to!
The title pretty much says it all, based on this quote by Jon Peters “Also just because we are in here doesn’t mean we are only doing Necro stuff as well in case any non-necros read this. I have changes and bug fixes for Mesmer, Warrior, Engineer, Thief, Guardian, Ranger, and Elementalist in my list already in testing as well.” I was wondering if any of these fixes and changes are coming in this patch. At the very least can Necros expect a power boost as we are seriously lagging behind most classes at this point. Thanks for any information you can provide…love this game!

I’m curious to know how long these transfers will remain because they are very very detrimental to the health of WvW. As it stands there seems to be so much server jumping that their is little to no room to try and stabilize groups, guilds and strategies. Personally I’m not a fan of locust gaming and this encourages it far too much.
Any word on this Anet?
I know these things aren’t a priority but there are some things that are created in the beginning that don’t work as well later in a characters life, this is one of them. I don’t see the harm in making changes like these an option, especially in light of the ability to transform armor and weapons so perhaps it should work the same way but dye option is easier.
When I hear directly from Anet that they plan to do justice to the legendary weapons for all professions, then and only then will I…relax. If as you say this was only the first round, they should have been very clear up front about that and saved me and a huge portion of their player base some unnecessary angst.
I can’t express just how bitterly disappointed I am in this staff. How can anyone, especially Anet believe that one skin fits all professions. As a Necromancer I can tell you in all honesty i wouldn’t use this even if it was given to me.
I am bitterly disappointed to see this staff, as a Necromancer it is just downright silly looking and unless there are changes made I won’t be caught dead using it. I’m now totally unmotivated to put the effort into getting this legendary and completely bummed out that Anet chose this path of one type fits all professions!
Excellent, that is what i thought but i didn’t want to cause myself more issues, appreciate the feedback. I think they should update that on their notice to avoid further confusion lol.
When i go to log into the game it says I have hardware issues, so i click on that link and it advises me to upgrade my drivers to 304.79 Beta drivers for the GTX 560 TI card, but when i do a search at the Nvidia site it says to download the 306.23 driver. So which is the recommended driver for the game at this point?
