Well, there are, at least they said this at Pax, 3 biomes AND the roots (underground), the surface, and then the Canopy for Maguuma. We don’t know whether this will go for all the new maps we’re getting or not.
Another possibility is a giant map which covers all of Maguuma which is HIGHLY unlikely.
Not unless the engine was given a massive update to accommodate something like that, it be interesting to see in practice.
However not entirely sure what to expect on how many zones we’re getting so lets wait and see. I hope its a broad range at least from north to south.
I remember in Guild Wars 1 going to another campaign as a new profession caused the character to be allowed to experience a flashback of what occurred. Maybe something similar?
Nah, gonna create one use 80 tomes and run straight to the new content.
Definitely, waited a long time for this to be released.
Questions about Pricing and Payment [merged]

It amazes me how many people are ready to expect a price point equal to the original cost of the base game when the expansion doesn’t appear to be adding new content equal to that of the base game.
Well its how Blizzard operate.
Personally I don’t mind paying at most £35. However if they come out with another Deluxe edition, my max price rises depending on content included.
I’ve waited a long time for an expansion and this might be it…I’m getting aboard the hype train.
Can we do as many achievements as we want or is it just the five a day?
Neat.
I’m glad to see we can still get features between feature packs.
Unless they are bringing parts of it forward? The WvW, PvP changes and this sounds like something I’d expect in a Feature Pack.
Arguably the players did see the gods or at least their representatives during the Nightfall mission, Gate of Madness when Kormir seeks a audience with them to ask for help against Abaddon.
Thats if Jennah has the right to see the Amulet, it might be something that is exclusively only the Shining Blades responsibility. If the heir was someone Jennah would approve of heir that could introduce some problems.
IE If for example the Amulet showed Minister Caudecus an individual known to have challenged Jennah and she was to know he was the heir, well to put it plainly were I in her position I would have killed him for challenging me and have an heir who isn’t a complete threat to me.
The obvious question here is what is the correct interpretation of the Rightful King of Ascalon and does it refer to Living or Dead?
You see the problem is if Duke Barradin accepted Adelbern as the King of Ascalon he for all intents and purposes abdicated and he doesn’t have a claim to the throne. He even offered his daughter to Rurik, arguably he doesn’t have a claim anymore because he gave it away. I personally wouldn’t recognize him as the King of Ascalon because he gave his claim up, but hey thats up to someones interpretation.
Adelbern was able to wield Magdaer and unleash the foefire in the first place probably meaning yes he was of Dorics bloodline and able to claim some sort of legitimacy to being King of Ascalon.
And of course, there is the option someone else of the Doric bloodline who ties into the Ascalonian nobility could very well claim they are the rightful leader of the realm. Someone stated Logan and I myself follow this belief, its a potential if at some point the Thackeray family he descends from married into the Ascalon royalty (given Gwen was founder and leader of Ebonhawke I’d guess very likely). Logan could claim the title if this were true but we don’t know that.
But in the end there are probably many individuals who come from the Doric bloodline who could certainly claim it, the problem is which one is the rightful king.
Yes, in a sense the end of the Personal Story and Season 1 are at odds. As Destinys Edge said at the end of Arah they intended to stay together and fight the other Dragons and Logan especially said he wouldn’t go back to Jenna until Kryta was safe from them. So obviously that changed as they immediately seemed to have dropped that idea and all gone back to what they were doing in the first place.
Anet writers ignoring their own game’s lore again. You need Sohothin, Magdaer and a descendant of Doric to break the curse.
Sohothin or Magdaer and the Rightful King of Ascalon which can be interpreted in many different ways.
Thats the thing, if this is a supposed part 1 I wonder if it will indeed fail and he will be forced to go to the humans to get someone with the right lineage to resolve the problem therefore creating an alliance between Charr and Humanity to fight the Dragons which would be dealt with in a part 2.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but does the the legend not state only the rightful King of Ascalon wielding either of the swords can lift the curse?
Either this attempt fails as he doesn’t he considered that. Or Rytlock perhaps becomes the Kahn-Ur which could be interpreted as the King of Ascalon.
Or the Legends wrong and you only need the sword.
I’ll go with what I said in the other thread, I’m guessing its Logan Thackeray. I’d guess the odds of the Thackeray and Royal lines mixing at some point down the line isn’t a complete outside possibility.
My first thought was that Logan was the heir as well, being the founders of Ebonhawke having the Thackeray line tie into the royal line at some point over the past two centuries isn’t an outside possibility.
But its still an odd choice, as the heir may very well be aware of who they are and may not be allowed to have a dangerous profession if you will that could endanger them.
I’m currently on FSP, but since the season ended its dropped significantly in activity and I came to the conclusion a couple of weeks ago I need to move if I want to keep WvW fun for me. I’ll either be going to SFR or Desolation in the upcoming weeks probably the latter, I have friends there who say its active and fun and thats all I want.
And put the norn, charr, asura, sylvari, hylek, skritt, quaggan, grawl, ogre, kodan, tengu, and centaur residents under a system of government they can’t participate in. Solid plan, truly.
True, but the Krytan Government only allowed Lions Arch to remain independent so that it could act as a defense against Orr. With that threat gone the Krytan Governments reasons for allowing it to remain independent are gone.
I’ve got a solution to this problem, replace the Lionguard with the Seraph. Just let Queen Jenna reclaim the city from its incompetence now its reason to exist independently is gone.
I always assumed the gods were just people who had assumed a vast amount of magic to put them beyond humanity in a sense, so much in fact they could well control it through the creation of the Bloodstones. They’d managed to advance their own magic so much that well…normal humans if you will looked upon them as gods but they were eventually able to use this magic to extend their lifespan to near immortality.
Hey iFocus
Mantle Assasins (there’s a back-story to the misspelling) is a small European international Guild Wars 2 Community based on Far Shiverpeaks EU. We consist of a mature & level headed player-base (18+) who have similar goals within the Guild Wars 2 Universe.
We originally formed in Guild Wars 1 in 2005 & have been playing underneath our MA tag ever since. The misspelling is done purposefully with Assasins (Should be Assassins), which comes down to a typo 7 years ago when we originally formed. We set up a community poll prior to the release of GW2 to see if the community wanted to mend the typo. The end result was the majority being in favour of us keeping the typo, as they classed it as part of our heritage, & people felt it played a big part towards the many great experiences we had created for each other over the years. We dabble in all things PvX, varying from PvE, PvP, WvW & self-made Guild Events. We also offer our own Website, Forums, TeamSpeak3 Server & a Minecraft Server (for the Creative among us!).
The [MA] Way:-
Something that we started back in the early days of Guild Wars 1, was what we dubbed “The [MA] Way”. To sum this up in a meaning, within MA we do not aim to be #1 in PvP, WvW or Dungeons, we aim to create the best experience we can in a laid-back atmosphere & have a laugh while we’re at it. The team gets wiped? We just laugh in the face of team wipes, get back up & jump right back in without all the aggro & rage you get from a lot of other guilds out there! Although don’t get the wrong idea, we’re very good working together as a community, but without the tension of being criticized if you or we muck up
If you’re interested, please send a PM or submit an application on our website.
I’d love to be able to go deal with Palawa Joko but we won’t have that chance until Elona is added in presumably if it is.
I don’t think they’ll add another Continent in the first expansion. There are still Dragons to be dealt in Tyria and unless one flies off we can’t exactly abandon it to have adventures elsewhere.
If I were to take a guess, the first expansion will probably expand on Tyria itself first as a EOTN type expansion with seperate paths each one dealing with a seperate Dragon. Of course they could also do that in DLC content, so we have yet to see what will happen.
@FS i dont think UW teams up with Dzag, in fact we always suggest to invade Dzag borderlands, but also Dzag keeps their own borders clean.
Actually attacking the Underworld BL last night, my group was on the verge of taking a camp. UW arrived and we thought well this is out of the window but close behind them a couple of Germans arrived and we thought well if they delay them long enough….nah turned out it was a combined group attacking any FSP players. We watched this one group patrolling around for quite a while together. And there has been occasions this week where UW and DZ zergs just avoid each other if they come close.
We also have the situation that DZ rarely if ever attacks your borderlands. Their nightcapping usually revolves around capping our Borderlands and our EB territory. They never throw their force at your Borderlands.
If this was WvWvW and we were losing I’d accept it, but we are losing WvWW this isn’t fun for any of us when we can’t compete because two servers won’t attack each and in some cases outright work together.
Away/no Loot/Received
I definitely didn’t take part in the final event because I was on a train during it. I might have logged into Lions Arch right at the end to check in on my guild then logged off. The only things I recall doing during the update weekend were exploring Lost Shores, failing a jump puzzle and that was that. I don’t recall doing any event due to how busy I was.
To expand on Narcemus point. I suppose you could also argue that in the aftermath had Saul survived he would have been a hero of Kryra. The Mursaat wanted to control Kryta and Saul stands as a problem. What if afterwards he lost faith? He wanted to drive Kryta in another direction opposed to that of the Mursaat?
Killing him and instilling fear in a few others would create something stronger and make Saul an even bigger legend (who wouldn’t be a threat to them later).
Another problem with the Scrying Pool is that it only seemed to work at certain points, might not be ready for use.

The movement of the world reveals quite a bit about Cantha. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the First Expansion was focused on Tyria.
First of all, the Kurzicks and Luxons were both conquered and outright annexed by Emperor Usoku.
The Jade Sea and Echovald Forest should have returned to their natural states in the past 250 years as it was said before EOTN they were beginning to recover.
You have the final problem that all non-humans were driven out, of course this is a natural storyline for the Tengu to regain their lost land.
