Again ill say, avoiding the problem by creating the same one on a lower tier server wont fix anything. People will not spread out evenly, let the numbers lie where they may and pray ppl stay put where they are, the more ppl transfer the more superservers it creates. We are not complaining about how big the server is or how long the queue is so much as we’re seeing long queues with Empty Maps. This simply should not happen.
Not to restate this but some of you are missing the point, what we’re really concerned with is the actual number of WvW is not balanced per server. Yes a lot of people are trying to get in, but why is there a queue if within the map the max population doesnt exist. For instance people who only own a supply camp or being spawn camped, they see max 10-20 ppl around them, do you really think 90+ ppl are off hiding and avoiding being killed by the bloodthirsty server thats fielding 80ish ppl? All we are asking for is that the refresh rate, or whatever issue thats causing the max pop from being able to get into the map to contribute to be fixed, its clearly a technical issue, stop whining about max pop servers, even max pop should have the right to have their total allowed players inside a map. When a tier 1 server tells you they have about 20 on a map, honestly you should believe them, because they got there knowing who’s on a map and where, you dont get to hold your own on numbers alone at that level its tactics involving knowing your own server and the enemies.
Ok ok still trying to wrap my head around the concept. There is one group in the lower tier community that wants or wishes more people would join them to balance wvw in some way, but we all know how that worked out, kaineng is the prime example of what you guys do not want to happen which leads me to the other lower tier group, that does not want another episode like that to happen just because the queue times appear low at first, cause that is the nature of true bandwagoners, they move to wherever is best for them at any given time. So my question is, why bring up lower tiers having no queue, if you knowingly do not want to recruit those people to come on down, to give you the same bugged queues the rest of us are having?
Reset was crazy frustrating and fun all at the same time, its been a while since most of us have had a decent fight to show us where we needed to improve. At the same time tho, i cant help reading “but not quoting” the maguuma guy saying they shouldnt have been able to hold the garrison for 8+ hours under the pressure they were under, i think that discredits the people you had in there and their abilities more than it says anything about ours or DBs. Your defensive crew did everything right from what i could tell about holding their position in that lords room. It was a fun fight all the way around i had work in the morning and couldnt stay for the end of it, it was a true 3 way battle like it should be. The queue bug really hurt our numbers but we gave everything and everyone we had in our map to break that iron grip you guys had on garrison. What you saw at garrison was in fact our total numbers across the entire map. If it was not for the constant 3 way either DB or us(kain) would have probably capped long before the 8 hour mark but that is the nature of true WvW. I am looking forward to getting home and rejoining the fight(assuming i can make it through the bugged queue). Short shout out to WE, been a while since we were together, seems u guys are doing well with DBs NA crew, we’re all still working on improving current Kain NA crews coordination, im looking forward to more battles vs you guys this week.

It is a FACT that Kaineng zergs have been the easiest for US to kill when compared to other servers we have played. Are you dense? I think we are perfectly qualified to state as a fact what has been easy for US to do and what hard been hard for US to do.

To the real topic, try to rememer this server hasnt had to learn all that much yet, and didnt have a reason to know how to fight effectively with a zerg this size when they were in T8. There is a lot of adjustments the old havto make with the new that cannot be done utill we hit equal competition. So yea big whoop a few are easy? If its easy does that mean its fun or does it limit the fun when they wipe. We gotta hit our brick wall to learn and adapt, till then posts like yours will be common and stale. If you cannot see that/those facts then I fail to believe yours.
Ty all who showed up to the fight club event was really fun winning or losing, was a shame that a few groups had to ruin some of it for us. Here is the way I see it, rules were laid out in black and white, if your group comes in and starts wiping anyone for no apparent reason you deserve to be spiked while the others watch and continue with the match. If you want us to forgive and forget after doing such an act how bout party or message the ones hosting the event before thinking everything is ok and you can participate peacefully again after breaking the rules. When you go to an adult party you honor thy host, when you go to a kids party you do what the rule breakers did.
Normally it would be true that we would place siege where it needs to go if we had time. When NSP came to take their garri back we had just defended bay and made repairs right after we capped garri so we lacked time or supply to throw up a whole lot of siege where it needed to go. The fact that we wiped them a few times in the lords room felt like a miracle in itself. Hats off to my fellow kain that were with me fighting to the last man in there, and hats off to NSP for keeping the pressure by not giving us much time to relax and siege up.
Funny you mention that, last night I walked by our southern tower on NSP BL there was like one or two people in it, no callouts were made there were like 5 nsp cata’s on it with two more prints being built, it was a fortified wall so i can see why the power was needed there. Think there were 10-15 ppl that organized that off your side, pretty sneaky stuff.

Sorry that this happened to you, it was apparently some troll from our guild doing it for reasons that havent been found out yet, really not sure what he meant about not being on the same server this just puzzles me. I am not an officer but I will inform a few to take a look at these screenshots.
While I think itd be cool not to have guys like that on this thread, it is the forums, its gossip/topic centered for ppl to talk about or argue over, without ppl like this would any1 be grabbing popcorn or looking through these threads during their work hours?
Not sure what you’re talkin about jkctmc, we prob wont shoot up as far as you think, and there’s nothing wrong with that, the fights in this matchup on reset night have been a blast, even numbers all around even if its only even on one borderland. All the hate towards server transfers, we’ve all been on the bad end of it, is there a reason to continue to cast out hate or cant we just enjoy thet good fights/moments we have cause last time I checked this was a game. (supposed to have fun if not you should do whatever you havto to have fun. and no I dont mean exploit/hack thats not fun for anyone) I came from a game before guild wars 2, called perfect world, where one guild of 200 held a map of about 30 lands and stomped every matchup in 5-10 minutes when the matches had 3 hour time limits. To avoid the ok they’re the best lets join them or quit, we all left our small time guilds to create a rival superpower. Then another superpower was created to fight both n so on. Point of this is, we did what we had to do to increase our end game joy, getting stomped here is a hell of a lot better than the situation you could experience in other games.
I was the mesmer in that 5v5, yea it was fun, wish the rules had been kept/explained to all on that one if they werent clear to all the trigger happy peeps. Main reason no staking in fight club is to save on armor repairs, no stake, no cost. Hope everyone had fun tonight, I know I had my bum handed to me by quite a few, there are quite a few things I need to work on, ty for the training.
The ram thing only helps to lessen the chance of WP being contested its by no means a fix, but its a cheap solution to having it contest less often.

It is bugged, the best way that I know of to counter this and keep the waypoint uncontested for a while is to place a flame ram in the middle of where they spawn, it makes the enemy npcs that spawn want to attack it first, now remember u gotta keep that ram there, siege despawns after a while so refreshing helps. What is going on is, when an enemy scout spawns itll unload on any npc that might be near the gate, their misfire hitting the gate causes the keep to get contested, not them spawning, even you fighting them or them fighting your guards doesnt contest the keep, its just the misfire that hits the gate.
Ok been a while since I’ve posted on the forums but I’ve kept up with most of the talk/chatter. Lotta hate going on about transfers, yet all I see are groups recruiting all the time, is it just me or are most of the transfer haters looking to see wasteland maps where you might encounter a fight every half hour or so? Because thats what a lot of the haters sound like they want. If one server has good wvw and gets more transfers, yea there will be an imbalance, but here’s the thing if these guilds had gone up into the higher tiers, it would shatter every other tier just as badly, no matter where transfers go, up or down its going to rock the system. This is the first week NEO alliance has been on kain together with all the guilds here in full so yes its going to be enormously bad with how many of us there are in wvw. People say why did you move if you were in a higher tier already why come ruin another tier. Ok here’s the deal its human nature that people and bad politics aka groups with big egos can ruin any chance for teamwork for wvw. Thats what a lot of us went through, cost the server we were on to break apart, now the ones that were left fought it out hard and as long as we could but improvements/help stalled, our former server wasnt going to get transfers to save it from mass exodus. So you say we shouldve stayed rebuilt there. TBH what is there to rebuild, on a server that was clearly labeled a dont transfer there server(at least it felt like it) We needed help and the transfers were the best option to combine strengths, while I am sorry that its made wvw unbearable for a bit, it is something that had to happen and will continue to happen so long as there are chest beating people that play this game and brainwash half a server to fight against the other half of their own server for control. Right now the alliance is trying not to step on anyones toes in the new server, so yea training ppl that had bad tactics is gonna be slow due to the fact the new guilds havent earned the right to tell the home server what to do, only to advise as carefully as we can. So far I feel that has gone smoothly, to the people on kain who wish/expect a lot of us to leave, remember most of us were die hard on the server we came from there from launch, we were pushed down to the bottom tier and clawed our way back up, but the bad blood/politics of our old server were just too great hence why we chose to come back down to rebuild. Here’s hoping that the old kains and the new kains, will avoid history and mend together to become at least a good standing wvw server that remains in mid to high tiers. If anyone really objects to my post, 5 ppl reply negatively to it, and I have no problem deleting it.
You all seem to have misunderstood what the point of my PvDoor comment was, so I’ll clear it up. Each server has times where it clearly outnumbers the enemy that’s a given hence the term pvdoor, what I was referring to is that our server just like all the other servers, act like there isnt a single defender trying to save what they have, or does not deserve to have pride in defending what they may not have earned. This might be those peoples prime time/only time to play we trash them by saying its pvdoor without acknowledging they did their best to fight back how is that fair to them, to judge what they do vs what their zerg does. We that live in the zerg time go to sleep, how often do you think about the few defenders that havto live through the hours where another server dominates. I’ve played in the zerg hours and the “PvDoor” hours, honestly when I read chat during the zerg time I rarely see thanks guys for holding what you can or gj posts for the few that fought the enemy zerg during the home team zergs sleep. So I hope that clears up the meaning behind my earlier statement.

Hires a couple of chimps for toble and trains them to sling “mud” at Toble till he gets his fill of mudslinging then we can all hang out after we let him have about 20 showers to remove the “mud”.
Lets see I havent posted on a forum for any of the matchups this same group has had, but I have read through them and held my tongue(fingers). The double team issue is a non-factor, the mudslinging, that I consider a factor. There really really shouldnt be any mudslinging, for most of the timezones arent all of our players finding at least a little bit of fun to fight? Seriously go look at some of the servers who have 10k or 20k points for the week. I for one am glad for this matchup its never been a true spanking for any one server. Tactics, I remember reading but will not quote a guy from previous weeks saying that a certain server has no tactics… are we really debating that one server has better tactics or strategy than the other after months of W3, because everyone has the same tactics, its come down to when and how a server goes about using them to their advantage and if they have the numbers to do so. So please dont start up well this server has better tactics than this brainless zerg server because honestly, the player that says that about another server really hasnt seen the “tactics” servers zerg time because it acts the same as the one you called brainless b4. You only see good tactics and strategy when the teams are small fighting a larger force and holding while others take stuff from behind. W3 for tactics and strategy have become stale every server has run out of their playbooks when fighting the same servers multiple weeks so yes strategy is out the window for the most part because the other server knows whats coming, they know what force they need to counter it. Now to the mudslinging, honestly grow up a little bit, all of you including my server mates. All the time I see ppl defend themselves which that in itself is justified…but they ruin it with another insult attatched in, why oh why if you think you are better than the person who insulted you do you do the same thing I mean really? There are a lot of stubborn posters among each server who think they havto stand up for their server in every post. Way I see it based on past and present forum insults: DH thinks DB is a pvdoor server and NSP is a thorn in everyones side. DB thinks DH is some big bad server that they must obliterate, While NSP is again a thorn in its side too, NSP thinks its funny beating down on both servers which honestly is kinda awesome so far theyve done it right in that regard kept their end fairly clean on the posting side. No server has a PvDoor time, every server has completely trashed on themselves for not thanking the few who do play when the zerg sleep and this happens in every matchup of every tier. Please take some time out of your day to thank the 10 or so people per map that do their best to hold what the zerg has earned, its long past due, I have seen a lot of hate from the zerg when they log on to see everything lost, but they have no idea what hell the few that were there defending it went through. I believe that sums up what really should have been said by all in this or any of our past threads but feel free to flame it if its unsatisfactory. Not so fun having ppl attack what’s unique about your class now is it, now maybe you feel how the mesmers feel about our special ability that no1 else has being threatened by posts such as this. I’ve seen plenty a warrior/ele complain along with the rest about nerfing everything a mesmer has, so yea i support nerfing the 2 skills that allow ppl to reach the safety of keeps from the downed state just in spite not that I actually have all that much of an issue with it. Just to prove that whining about stuff like this will lead to killing a class for the masses.

I gotta say seriously stop whining about us mesmers, if Anet keeps listening to you few they’ll be at the point of just killing the class with nerf this nerf that just because a few ppl cant handle it. If the enemy is going to portal bomb, they will do it however they havto per nerf, make the portal only carry 5 ppl ok bring 10 mesmers up to x location for mass portal bomb ppl would just spam f on whichever portal sends them ahead. If you want to make the portal killable, oh wait, you could have just friggin killed the mesmer running at you first…. If they want to inc the cooldown as they did, at least make the exit portal last 20 seconds like the description says, it’s broken as it is at 12 seconds. For the beserker, i dont mind actually not focusing on the walls so much anymore as protecting the ones that can is actually more fun cause who doesnt love killing ppl with one track minds while they try to kill someone else. But fix the freakin DPS on mesmers, why should our class take more cuts than any other on damage than the rest.
Well tonight I wanna give major props to my DH brethren for the amazing job on FA BL holding onto our tower and camp for pretty much 5 hours+ straight, in times like these, which guild had the most numbers, who had the best players, that didnt matter we came together as a unit and held out to the last man. We need to put all past issues behind us ignore the drama that has started and been talked about in the past. If you’re still fighting for DH that is all that matters here, if you feel like you’ve been dissed then bring it to the attention man to man of the person who did it, find out what he/she meant and deal with it in game b4 bringing it here. Only reason to bring it here is when its out of control and things cannot be worked out individually. On a personal note tonight was the most fun ive had vs FA since this matchup started, they could have easily taken our holdings much sooner but ended up fighting man to man for a while which was really fun for both sides. With the win in the bag i hope the rest of the week turns into more man to man fights vs zerg to take the points away deal….think FA is realizing you gotta leave something to fight for if you want the enemy to have the morale to stick it out.
Thing about it is, the whole issue isnt even an issue, people like to blame stuff on ethersin. TBH pugs dont like to defend (hence why they follow seal the deal, he doesnt know what defend means all he knows is Rally on me, build build build, and stack stack, oh and he thinks its funny to run pugs off cliffs to their deaths) honestly if that is what makes him the most loved commander in DH then great lol…. RE is the most defensive and offensive working group on darkhaven, the reason the PuGs dont listen or follow ethersin is not ego, its the plain fact they would rather follow the karma/exp train than do whats right, like hey this wall is still at 10% would a few of you stay back and repair it… nope most of the pugs move on to the next commander who will lead them to more karma/exp. Our guild works with everyone on darkhaven even a few regretfully follow seal to back him up when the cause is good. All the argument is between seals fans against ethersin that dont even know the cause of the drama. Even seal rarely speaks out against ethersin anymore so honestly drop the trashtalk when you’re not even on our server. It makes it a lot harder for stuff to patch up when people keep siding with one group vs the other. Thing is this week the fight has been knocked out of DH because we havent been beat this bad in a while…this is where the true players shine, they still get in wvw and get things done… I’m willing to bet there are at least 3-6 RE at every accomplishment this week… I wonder why… its because we dont quit we might rage a bit but who doesnt we fight on. I really commend the commanders who have led during the fights this week major props to all who showed up when others decided to pve for the week. Major props to all the guilds out there who’s players have showed up in groups or individually without the normal support of their masses.
Again for wvw 9 times out of 10 the portal skill isnt useful to the mesmer for anything other than coordinating with others to allow faster travel. For the mesmers itself, the only time portals are useful are in cases where you can outrun the enemy chasing you lay one down while they dont notice and keep going you port back and escape but even that fails to save us most times. Also in the jump puzzles imagine the frustration many would have if their friends mesmer portals could not help them anymore or would havto wait an hour per use…..i mean really an hour per portal if thats ok then lets please make all the elite skills cooldown per hour okay? Remove it you say ok then well lets also reset to square one kick everyone from all servers keep their char levels but all wvw scores go back to 0 then we play more weeks to balance wvw out again because removing our skill this late would only be justified by cleaning up the fact they were ever used in the first place. The making the portal your teams color would be a nice change actually, or add like a lamp post on the exit to make it more showy( like the thiefs house animation) enemy sees that then bam no more invis portals. As a mesmer I like my portal but I also get the point people hate that enemy teams only use that tactic, that isnt going to solve anything really, delete the portaling…then you just have them doing w/e the next most effective thing to do 100% of the time. Trying to get rid of an option only leads to another option being played out till people complain and there are no strategic options left other than outnumbering your enemy.
A big issue with the portal too is a lot of people dont even know how it works or the time constraints on it…. lay the entre 60 to lay the exit which says it stays open for 20 seconds but only really stays open for 12 so you want to make a portal that only lasts for 12 seconds anyway killable? Sorry i just dont see the logic there. Simple solution …. Pay attention during battle….9 times out of 10 if you see a little dude rushing desperatly towards your group odds are there is a portal coming, either move your forces back beyond the range so they port in front of you or form a circle around the user and have fun aoeing the crud out of what comes through. A lot of people need to play a mesmer and learn the range the portal works from, fight outside that range and the stacking method is useless.
I love to fight but these odds are not entertaining in the least, they say they want practice, that they want a good fight, well stop setting siege up at spawns to scare any1 willing to try, save that siege for next week since you have already won this match. To the person who commented that you do this to keep the points rolling in, honestly its so important to win that you would sacrifice chances for fun fights on it? Its cool though I get it, i’ll be on the fields to fight with my brothers in arms for the rest of this matchup. It is kindof funny popping up near your siege and dropping a portal exit with no1 on the other side coming through, your guys react like ohhhh noo portal bomb, im sure ive made a few laugh when no1 came through it, and yes it was done that way on purpose lol. Its good practice even when i dont have backup forces to bring, its fairly easy to weave through 15-20 of your players zerging a tower though, you guys should work on your reaction times to catching those players doing it.
As a mesmer myself, its getting old hearing about fix ibeserker or fix the portal. Honestly the portal isnt that beneficial to the mesmer him/herself because to use it it takes balls of steel and great skill from the mesmer to pull of getting to a desired location often. Kill the mesmer = killing the portal bomb, if you see a char running at you alone you should know hey stop him or knock him back, keep the guy out of your center and bam all he would do is port everyone right in front of your group not in the middle or behind. Still doing something to the portal wouldnt help or hurt the playerbase in wvwvw, mesmers arent the problem in wvw, the strategy might be used a lot but it doesnt havto be. As it stands, if there is a battle on a tower or keep if i dont have the beserker I cannot hit anything on the walls, nearly every class has something to contribute to a tower/keep siege and this is the mesmers contribution other than time warp ( the only thing i agree on is there should be a barrier setup past the wall point so our illusions cannot go past the inner wall to hit catas or anything that would normally be safe from all classes) …. Back to the portal issue, it would be nice to not need to sweep locations for mesmers, I like the portal due to the fact if im inside and the enemy repairs the wall behind us i can port ppl inside to keep the flow of battle moving. I am not opposed to 5 ppl going through per port but that would just cause more mesmers to start playing wvwvw…. think this through carefully now, do you really want the portal fixed that way so you would havto face an army of illusions rather than the lone mesmer that normally does the job.
A lot of the issues with darkhaven are the bots that were never fully gotten rid of. Also a lot of times we have people who stand around in the citadel on our BL map or stand around chilling in other BL’s spawns like its a social club to chat at. We cant exactly force the non wvw fighters to leave for not helping so its hurting us there( maybe add a mass voting option to force afk players off a map). This may be crazy to most ppl but its almost as if DH has a bug as far as how many players can be on each map, ive had ppl say they were in queue before while I was on the map they tried to get to, I desperately searched around to find where these magic few were hiding, so either its still botters roaming or we as a server are bugged for how many per queue we can have on each map hurting our ability to match forces. Because ive had occasions where there would be a queue and the numbers on the field werent any greater than when there wasnt a queue. Yet we still get outnumbered there. Back to the actual battle at hand though, im normally a fight to the last man kinda guy in wvw even when losing in points but this is kinda just beyond rediculous, stuff like this is why people afk from wvw for a week. The messed up deal is we’ll face another force like this again if we win next week when the third from the tier up drops one. WvWvW really needs a mega change in match balancing.
Biggest thing to stopping a thief always add a mesmer to your camp snatching group, if the mesmer is good he/she will get a beserker on the thief, to stay in stealth the thief will most likely not take the time to kill the beserker. Also if the thief doesnt kill the zerker you can watch the illusion because it can follow the thief in stealth. So grab a mesmer buddy, protect him/her till she gets the thief locked on with multi zerkers dude will be crippled due to it, and the mes can also push/pull the thief out of the ring multiple times its really not hard to predict a thiefs movement in a capture ring odds are they are running around the outer edges as fast as they can. If they’re bold theyll try to come into the center to kill one of you just dodge that and hit him with an immobilize. if i have a good group around me the longest 1 thief kept a camp from flipping that ive faced is 1-2 min after the claimer goes down.
Biggest issue is really who has space for 300 people, any of the above mentioned servers would be great but since WvWvW numbers and PvE numbers arent seperate most servers are full due to heavy PvE related people.
Most of our guild works together with just about anyone with sound strategy and a will/desire to use our talent/knowledge when we are on the field. I agree with kita here, the idea of an alliance for the server sounds okay but its not for everyone, some just want to avoid the politics and have fun while helping the server at the same time. So ty for at least acknowledging our efforts for the server in your guild list brender. You would be amazed at how often it feels as if it goes unnoticed.
I love using cliffs on my mesmer, often ppl will be so preoccupied with zerging me down that i could easily curtain about 5 off the cliff and turn around and illusionary wave a few more off b4 i fall to my death. Also they are right, enemy do get loot from tagging you regardless of how you died, so cliff jumping to me, feels like… ok 5 v1 this group would have earned the spike on me….why should i give a zerg of 10-30 the right to spike when I can jump off? Especially when I earned the right by nearly solo defending a location. It looks cheesy but tbh I hate the spikes by 6-7 ppl from a zerg at the same time. + often times you get lucky by cliff jumping an ally will be way more safer to revive you if you’re not trapped inside a location or in an easy spot to zerg to. So there is strategy in jumping off a cliff if you’re far from your spawn and your server is on the move.

LoL when its only a 6 k lead bro I dont think provoking them would be a wise idea here eh? There’s still a lot of time left in this matchup and theyve been gaining more each day. Still props to our server for sticking it out and fighting man to man in this 3 way madness.
Dont know about most but our guild usually goes with a you attack me and we will force numbers and attack you back strategy when it comes to the EB puzzle. If the enemy is simply looking to get the chest and move along we let them, but we do keep close tabs on enemy mesmers more than any1 else when we do this, cant be nice to some1 and let them get a portal up when we are trying to get our guys up now can we.
Had to log in to talk about this a bit, about the lower level geared players in W3. When a server is lacking manpower during offpeak hours even the low levels play huge importance. When you have a group of 8 or around that and yea they might be 1-40 but the enemy doesnt know this. If you’re aggressive they back off and flee for the hills if their numbers dont match yours. Also when you’re trying to defend keeps n such you really do want those knowledgable 1-40’s running supplies for you or manning siege so your 80s can take the fight man to man with the few numbers you may have. It’s all about context and player skill vs level. 1v1 or 2v1 a 1-40 will most likely lose out everytime but to doubt their usefullness is a waste. Should spend more time educating them on how to use what they have to the fullest, dont push away active W3 players that are using it to level just by scaring them saying oh, you’re not 80 yet so ur not very useful. We on every server it seems throw the term pugs around too often. Why arent we doing more to make these PuGs, non-pugs, seems the best strategy for a server would be to use what you have regardless, if you need to 1 on 1 talk to people you see looking stupid cause odds are they are trying to learn the mechanics of stuff, you just never know, we judge before we reason with people.
not asking you to do this but why not have the guild go together, i mean the same pve stuff is on every server if things arent fun where you are why wouldnt you try someplace new together, you might like it, if not u can go back in a week. Its not always zergfests that win, put up a great defense and 20 can defend against 40. If you have 30 and the enemy has 40 u can either wear them down or send that 10 to take other enemy locations behind their zerg, there is strategy up here its not all zergs.
Again, i just repeat, ele’s rangers and necros all they gotta do is lay their circles up top, its the same principle yet you guys single out mesmers. why not take away all classes ability to ever hit above the gate again to solve all your complaints about beserkers.
I would love to have my zerker stuck in a ring that i can place on top of a wall, if i see which direction the cart is firing from id just pull an ele/ranger style to kill it the same way as i do now
well they already have the free transfer per week option, pick a server in the top 12 or so and there u go ur in a competitive fight, its only server pride that will keep a person on a low/losing server.
Dunno bout maguuma but most of us puzzle for siege, or the late night karma runs pay for them just as nicely so not much of a waste there. If cost was an issue we wouldnt be actively playing in competitive wvwvw, sometimes you gotta spend more for the things you want.
cart hidden behind a hill, easy, send a scout or be the brave scout yourself that charges in or close to spot for your catapults that should be built to kill it, cant count the number of times ive suicided to call in shots from long range siege
Hate to say this but if your server is that bad off in wvw and you really want to play competitively you need to move to another one, its about the cold truth of it all. The servers are far imbalanced number wise on the low end, in the middle crowd we’re pretty well balanced. Removing the siege hurts the high pop to mid pop servers and would essentially make all servers low pop servers if you removed them like you ask to benefit the low pop servers.
phoebe does your server not know about the jumping puzzles in wvw?
Actually if you are facing that many enemy its a mix between maybe 2-3 carts and tons of rangers/ele’s the problem isnt so much arrow carts its your server being generally outnumbered 24/7 not much taking carts out will do to fix that.
Yea i have done it to counter an enemy team two weeks ago that did it, was difficult as hell to jump through the first time figuring it out but now i can do it with fair amount of ease, just have a mesmer go up top and he can portal the ppl with supply to build them, easy counter to that is to get a ele right under them or mesmer to curtain the firing party off.
I rarely worry about $$ in game, my server was in the bottom 3 early on thanks to the bad scoring system. I get all my blueprints that i use free, 4 chars 12 jump puzzle runs among them, + 4 more for the EB jump puzzle. each give 2-4 siege per run. so assuming i only get 2 siege, 2 × 4 x3 +8 = 32 siege + all the badges per day if i can make it through all the puzzles. I’m just one person with 32 siege per day for free imagine a server doing that for a week when their matchup is a blowout, makes the next week a little more challenging if you saved all that up.
Well there is the issue of, if you have a person targeted and a mesmer follows you to the wall of the keep/tower he still has you targeted, i agree that this aspect should be fixed. When you go out of sight you shouldnt be able to be targeted as a player. Having you targeted and u run straight to your cata without getting out of range of the mesmer ur basically giving yourself as his target to kill your cata even if he/she cant click on the cata.
Servers arent balanced i agree but still a lot of the main wvw servers arent having this issue. We trebuchet the castle walls down and siege behind it, For almost everything in WvWvW there is a countermeasure against it. I almost guarrantee you have ppl on your server hoarding tons of siege prints/badges to buy them in expectation of (why should i waste mine let some1 else do it). If your server is doing so badly that they cant counter the arrow carts attacking the castle isnt the first target you should be going for. Go for durios, go for anz, either one can treb the castle walls down. For the low end server, yea i could go there and still be able to make coin and spend siege. Its all about what targets you’re picking to fight over, take the supply camps around it, take the towers around it, use the terrain to your advantage. Siege is made to be broken sadly it can be built quickly if you have everyone with supply and tell them b4 u lay the print down. Pull together with ppl if your server lacks organization, you must do this if you havent by now. Groups always work best when they are on the same page on a target.
