Thanks.
Btw how are Engineers doing in pvp and pve atm?
As in top, inbetween, average, inbetween, bottom?
@choovanski.
I am from EU.
@Mnemisis
I asked for viable to check if I like those builds.
I agree that enjoying is more important than playing something that is strong, only because its strong.
Is there some place ingame where you can test out gear on your character to see how it looks?
Or a site with such a function?
I would like to know this so I can make a better choice for the body type of my character.
Can you change bodytype later ingame?
Thanks all.
Good to know that there is that ‘’all races to human’’ option NICENIKESHOE.
@Ithamir.
I misunderstood. I was under the impression that Sylvari only had a glow in dark spots on the world (like in shadows), so I thought that will be difficult to test out in the heart of the mist starting zone with clones. However, Sylvari glow at night.
Racials are very niche skills and are generally not used at all. The only racial skill I can think of that I use on occasion is the norn Snow Leopard elite transformation, which includes a stealth skill. It’s very niche though and you can supplement it with harpy feather consumables if you need the stealth.
Thanks.
Good to hear.
So basically it is just a matter of pick the race you like animation wise the most for your class?
I read different things regarding racials.
Are racials of much influence or not in pvp and pve?
I am a new player and I am still getting into the game, checking things out, figuring out how stuff works and such.
For my main I would like to pick either Asura, Sylvari or Human.
However I dont care much between these 3, so the one that has racials that are stronger for the profession would work out best.
For my alt I am open to all except Norn (I just dont like being huge and bulky).
Hoping to read some info that makes me understand how important or not important racials are in this game.
I have some questions regarding a Mesmer race.
The Charr can run on 4 legs.
The Sylvari can glow in certain lack of light conditions.
Charr:
Will your clones run on 4 legs too, or not?
Meaning it becomes obvious that you are the real one if you are the only one who does that right? Or does the 4 leg run only happen outside of combat?
Sylvari:
Will your clones glow too? If they dont, than it becomes obvious that you are the real one right?
Tricks:
A big part of Mesmer in pvp is behaving in a way that it isnt clear that you are the real one, so therefore these questions.
Maybe the animations of the Asura are most difficult to track because they are so small, making it more difficult to see who is the real Mesmer?
Hi elementalists,
I am new to guildwars and considering making an elementalist as my main.
I made my elementalist lvl 3, so that I could get into that pvp mist zone, where you are jumped to lvl 80. This way I can test out their spells, but there are a lot I find it a bit difficult to get the right impression of the class.
I am here to ask for some guidance.
Like where can I find all the weapons in that pvp mist zone, to test out my spells?
Which builds are viable for pvp and which for pve?
Any recommendable guides and videos around?

That is what I want to do. Sticking to one profession first.
Focusing my time on that one first and keep an alt at bay for a while.
However I find it difficult stickint to only one profession, partly because I have a wide variety of taste.
I first tryed out the Human elementalist profession. Got him to lvl 3, so I could get into that mist pvp zone where you can try out loads of abilities. Feels fun.
I wanted to check out the Asura too and heard engineer are versatile, so I went to that pvp zone with him too and really loved the asura animations and engineers felt fun.
Warrior, thief and Necromancer(low mobility right?) are probably not my thing.
Maybe Mesmer isnt either. Its unique so I have never tryed something like that
However the guardian and ranger could be within my liking radar too (havent tryed them out yet, but their type of fightstyle, from what I read so far, seem fun to me).
So this doesnt seem to head into the focussing on one profession plan xD.
Can you change your characters looks like hair style etc. later in game or is that final upon creating your character?
Could you share some tips on how I can do the following well:
-Pick one class and stick to it for a long while, before alts are allowed to be on the radar.
So basicially tips to get a better impression of a profession than so far. I checked some out in that pvp mist zone, but had not find out where to get the different weapons.
Any other tips that help me increase my info and impression of the professions is welcome, so I can make a good choice.
-Pick a good race/racial for that class.
My main will either be a Asura, Human or Sylvari.
A fitting racial for the class I pick would help, seeing I like all 3.
Any professions more fitting with certain racials, or doesnt it really matter much in
pvp and pve?

Engineers, rangers and thieves can wear them. The other professions can’t because they’re classed as medium armour. But they can share each others starter gear, for example warriors can wear the guardian’s pauldrons.
One of the first things I did when the wardrobe came out was make a whole load of new characters to unlock all the starter skins. So now if I randomly decide my level 80 ele would look really good with the necro’s glowing eyes I can just apply it.
Nice.
You need to be lvl 6 to do this?
On both the one you character you take the item from and also on the one you send it to? Or only on the one you send it to?
They could also be referring to the item you choose during character creation. The engineers options are goggles or a backpack.
Before the wardrobe system was created the only way you could get those skins was to create a new character and pick that option, and the only way to save them was to hang onto an item with that skin. So if you wanted one or more of them for later on you had to make sure to save your starting item.
So a Not-Engineer can wear those engineering goggles and such?
Thanks.
That wiki sure is nice.
Good to see a wide arrow of possible future looks.
In pvp profession combo matters a lot?
If so who synergize well with each other?
Do racials matter much?
As in, certain races fit certain professions better?
Okay thanks, ill be sure to just check in general before deleting one.
Don’t delete your first character without first sending your backpack, goggles to your new char
What do they mean?
Lets say I make my first character to try out and I want to delete him, than ill make my new char first and than ill send the backpack to my new char. After that, I delete the old one.
Do I benefit from doing this on every char that I delete? Send the backpack to a nondeleted one first? Or you can only have 2 backpacks?
Where can I find these goggles that they talk about?
Hi, I am thinking of making an elementalist and my younger bro will probably make a warrior.
Do certain combinations of professions synergize really well with each other in pvp/pve or doesnt it really matter?
Where/how can I check how armors in general/endgame armors look on the various races?
Edit:
Do racials matter much?
Can we lvl from the start together if we are not the same race?

Hi,
from reading about the game and watching youtube stuff I felt this would be a game worth checking out for me.
I recently bought the game and its installing installing and downloading right now.
Now it will be time to pick a profession. I think that I will play pvp mainly with some pve next to it, but I am not sure yet.
I read that in this game there is no holy trinity of tank, dps and healer.
This means that you can complete dungeons with only dps professions in the team, working together well with cc and such?
Do you have some advice on how to pick a profession?
Like do you know links from recommendable guides, video footage for example that can help with that? Or other ways for advice?
I am usually playing type of professions that are about magic, cc, support and who fight at range. Also healers in games which features those.
However I am open to something else as well.
I like professions that take effort to get the maximum out of them.
At least as long as its rewarding, as in, as long as your profession is not shunned upon.
In some games, certain professions or talents from those, are not wanted and groups prefer to play without those professions in the team, even if the player is good.
That I do not want. Any professions like those around atm?
Does the ranger/archer/hunter in this game, counters other professions hard in pvp? I would prefer to not be the professsion who gets countered by them hard. No good memories from other games regarding that xD. Any profession in this game who counters them?
Or there is no extreme in this game where one profession counters another?
I am looking forward to play the game. A new world to explore
.
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for answering my questions.
Feel free to throw in any additional tips that you find worthwhile for a new player.
