Haven’t seen FURY outside a blob once since the patch either so your ‘we dont blob, were a roaming guild’ is also pretty amusing.

Anyways, i don’t like what is happening to this tier at the moment. So much numbers blobbed up. FURY allways runs as a guild only, we do keep in touch with other guilds through voicecoms to support eachother when needed. It sucks that we are forced to put in 3 guilds to wipe a big blob of enemies who only run together and just move with these numbers from camp to tower to keep. You do know you can take camps with less than 50 right?

To all the guilds that DO run on their own and try to achieve stuff by using their skills and tactics instead of big numbers and autoattack, much respect! we are a dying breed.

It lasts over 2 hours, but I think the Bay assault was around 4.00 or so

I went through the video but there is no footage of the bay assault :P around the time that video comes to an end, your servers assault on bay was going on.

As Matt mentioned before, fury started with two groups of about 18 but were forced to get back to one group because the huge numbers we faced.

We coordinate attacks/defences with other guilds, it has become a must-do thing because of 50+ groups. See it all in action on:

btw BB, what were you guys doing when you were trying to take bay back from us?
You got the south inner down, made a little push, got wiped, opend up all of the outer gates, trebbed all our inner walls down, did another push, got wiped, then finally ported into the lordsroom to overwhelm us with numbers.

I do have to say, we had such a good time defending that keep!

I want to thank Fury for giving DW a chance today in a GvG. Unfortunately most of our core players did not show up, some were asleep (all that 24/7 wvw takes it’s toll) and for some Wednesday this week was a very bad day.

We didn’t prepare more than usual, since we’re a very casual guild. The aim was to benchmark, only to see how huge the difference is, not because I thought we’d have any reach chance.

I quite enjoyed being roflstomped by you all

After our little encounter (i do apologize for wasting your time btw), me and some of my members joined the AoA raid that was going on on the Gandara map. And I must say I quite enjoyed it. Scouting around, giving reports, getting the occasional loot bag.
And the great thank you from Caest when I left to defend our! I do miss you in DW sometimes. Will definitely join again.

Ended up on the AG map. Running around teasing Kiss on the ruins. Is it just me or are pugs more attentive now that they can actually see everyone? Was a cool experience non the less.
Random guy came on the map, asked for us to go for Garrison, he needed a Vista. I went for Garrison! We didn’t get inside 2nd gate, but he got his Last vista!

I want to thank everyone, on both sides for the great fun I’ve had tonight!

Its never a waste of time if you had fun! We spent that time working on our synchronised movement and timed jumps/rolls :P

2 bad it got cancelled, i allways like a GvG. Maybe we’ll see eachother in open field and have a little skirmisch

Indeed he knows what he is doing and how to troll some numbers.
I teamed up with him for 30 min so I could see were and how he was moving while in stealth.
He seems to plan the next three moves like playing chess.

Its not an exotic build and the gear is berserker with ogre runes. He just avoids damage by extraordinary movement and positional awareness.

Very impressive indeed, would like to face him again after i’ve finedtuned my build.

Its hard to practice though, most people run away or are with multiple people. So either i kill them while they are running or i get overrun. Unles its a small group, then its fun!

There was one thief that was sooooo hard to kill, even when all of his teammates were down and all of us were focussing on him.

FURY allways likes to do some fun stuff on fridays before reset, was fun that a few of RS and BB joined us in animal form!

“zerg is used in mmo games to describe force consisted of large group of lower level players (often with only basic equipment) who use numbers rather then strategy to defeat the enemy, therefore requiring no skill. This tactics is commonly known as zerging”

This is what i’ve found as the most used definition of the word zerg or zerging.
In the situation of guild wars, you could define that as a bunch of pugs just rushing across the map.

Organized guilds however do not fit this description, they use specific builds and tactics to attack and defend.

And you should be aware of the fact that if you’re in WvW then you are a target, one guy may attack you or 20 its just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If you run with a small group and encounter a bigger group, you can run or fight. If you choose to fight then don’t be mad if you get wiped, regardles if its a guild or zerg you are fighting.

Think its time to bring this topic back up since Anet has mentioned that they are working on more possiblities for the commander icon but it will remain soulbound.

I’m still waiting for the awnser WHY they made it soulbound in the first place. I have the commander on one of my chars, now close to getting my fifth character to level 80.

Due to the adjustments in attempt to improve culling allot of teammates dissapear when they go slightly out of range, making CTRL+T mostly useless. I would love to being able to use my other characters during leading.

So either give us a explanation of why its soulbound or make it acount bound! thank you

Would be nice if they would find a nice solution that fits all of us, its hard to do so though. For every solution there will be people complaining.

And Nels the Cornwhisperer, if you really believe that then you’ve never been part of some good coordination in WvW

This is something i -and others i know- feel its missing. We do guild events in WvW with a group ranging between 15-40 people and it would be perfect to have a “guild icon” that the leader can toggle on.

I’m not quite sure yet if i like the larger party ideas with commander icon, since as larger groups its quite nice to have smaller parties of 5. It gives advantage when splitting up for taking camps of doing supply runs in the middle of a siege.

I would rather support a special guild icon that only the members of your guild can see. The guild leader could then specify what guild rank is allowed to toggle on the guild icon. That functionality within the guild can then be achieved by buying it from influence points.

Great fights on Baruch Bay tonight! Epic battles for the BB Garri after reset, 3 servers with massive numbers in one keep, my PC is still recovering lol!

Shout out to the RED guild from BB, you guys defended garri well! Looking forward to the rest of the week fighting you guys!

PS. Props to the CL (gandara i think) member who fought me (pink charr warrior [FURY]) twice 1vs1 during the GvG on RS. You pack a great punch!

Enjoyed the fights aswell! we had between 11-15 people at that time.

I’m a bit confused and perhaps you could help me: we indeed met and fought a few times on Sunday night (17th), but nobody came here asking if you were in the 40/50s that night. You definitely did outnumber us, you always do, (that night were missing a few people as well). But, that night we never asked such question. The event you’re referring to took place the following night, on Monday 18th when you invited us to Gandara only to turn up in a sizable zerg with some additional guilds. And it was then when some of our guildmates came here to ask you if you were running alone or with an alliance.
I wish we could have at least one fight on even numbers.
I’m not escaping the truth that we wiped many times against [fury] and we could have put a better fight in many occasions (as seen in your video), we are still working on that. We give credit where is due and admire your maneuvering skills, ours are sloppy. Just please don’t pretend we’re almost on par with numbers because we constantly try to rid of people sticking us and our all-time best turnout is 24 ppl.

When i made that forum post, we were a smaller group but as time passed more people from our guild came online and joined and at a certain point a few from another guild joined us too. We are not the kind of guild/server that just tells people to leave, they have every right to play the game they bought.

Like i said before, its a shame we did not have even numbers when fighting eachother.

I would like to encourage everyone, AG/GANDRA/RIVERSIDE, to keep the posts respectfull and stop flaming or accusing people.

Also an idea, replace the /laugh after a wipe with /bow!

29 FURY, and just before the 2 or 3 last fights against u guys we had a couple NP (i think about 6) with us. So yeah numbers were not equal, you guys did put up a good fight even though outnumbered.

At around 2:20 – 2:30 i was standing there,right side of ql [Atom], ( you should really use char models and own colours :P ).Funny sight to see…asked them to hold off..but they like cow meat.To bad you didnt film it when i came to your cow zerg and started crying when all got slaughtered.

Been recording the whole time but had like half an hour to push it all together into a video before the reset :P

Great start of the matchup guys, already had some good fights vs XxX, SN (if i recall correctly) and i thought i saw some YAK there also. Its been a balanced start excited about what the rest of the week will bring!

Thanks to FURY for the fights yesterday. At one point we were in the lords of FSP’s NE tower, you guys were in the courtyard and a huge FSP zerg was at the gate trying to get in. I’m not quite sure how we ended up in that situation but it was fun whilst it lasted.

That was an intense moment indeed, we were going for a ninja but you guys capped the tower right after we got in. So we were trapped between a big hungry FSP group and you guys hitting us with arrow carts from the top. Think FSP ended up taking the tower, love moments like these!

GG to all servers, it was a fun week with allot of good fights!

At least Fury improved their playing style. They now hiding behind walls after they got wiped so often from our PUG group on the open field on AG and GH borderland at Monday.

There once was a keep on the shiverpeak borderlands, which was taken by Aurora Glade. It got taken so easy with one quick raid.

The shiverers couldn’t stand that sight and wanted it back, sadly for them they got wiped instead. They breached through the gates, and took down some walls, but everytime they reached the lords room they got kicked in the balls.

They cursed and they yelled, after they kept getting repelled. So they went to the forums and started to flame, acuse the gladers of all kinds of stuf but thats okay.

Hush little childeren there’s no need to cry, next week we’ll move on and you can retry.

How can we ‘abuse’ it? we can’t control culling it just happens. does that mean we should walk around in smaller groups to make sure we are allways visible to the enemy?
