It would only make sense if you can prove ANet is responsible for letting hackers access your account. The account is controlled by each one of us. It is like asking bank to restore money that was stolen from your account when you lose your ATM card and PIN number.

I can’t really understand what you say in your post. I am guess you bought your gw2 off third party vendor that is not official guild wars 2 distributor ? If you got the key from some random online website then there is nothing ANet can do. They are not able to control what people do with stolen credit card. The only thing you can do in this case is go back to where you get the key from and request a refund or charge back from the 3rd party company.

For me, MMO is about playing with friends and have fun when we have time.

This thread just validates my decision not to participate in the Halloween event. I was on the fence, but not any longer.

I play in the event and I have not spend any gold/gem on the events. Fluff skins I can live without. The event is more than just getting cool items.

I have fun in the event and that is all I ask for in holiday events.

That is my concern about removing authenticator as well. I think i will take a break today and hopefully there will be a new build soon that will not require me to remove authenticator. I think I can survive without GW2 for one night for the safety of my account.

I believe those gem bonus code was for that beta weekend only. It was there to help testing the gem store. If you read the email, it was said to be used “during beta weekend”
