I am pretty sure you won’t get your ban lifted. You know you used inappropriate language in game and their rule is to ban that behavior for 3 days.

It is their game, their rule.

I am not trying to troll and derail at all. I am saying your email account being hacked is on your end. You have NO proof that any information was taken from your email nor the email was hacked.

I didn’t say its a standard for “hacked account”. I believe its a standard reply at the end of each ticket.

There is no evidence pointing toward any criminal activity. It will be hard press to get NCSoft to help with just your suspicion alone.

That change of your password bit is standard respond to make sure people fully re-secure their email. It is by no mean hinting your email was hacked.

Even if your email account is hacked, it will not be their job to even provide those information.

On the other hand, why would you use a work email for gaming ?

Two steps:
1. Submit a ticket and wait for support ( ticket queue is 24-48 hours respond time )
2. Post in sticky thread if your ticket is OVER 3 days and still no contact from support ( if you do, just wait patiently

There aren’t any support here. I don’t think forum support is part of the game support team. Most likely they will tell you to submit a ticket and wait for them to contact you.

I am just commenting on what might have triggered the system to ban your friend. As for the “automated banning system” , I think thats a rumor since no dev has mention it. In terms of who should handle what, I think there is no right way for ANet. I have seen people complains when their emails got hacked and blame ANet not detecting it was hacked. I have also see people blame ANet for banning them for no reason ( Just want to note that I take what people write on forum as grain of salt ).

I am sorry what you tried to do for your friend turned out the wrong way and I hope you guys can sort this out soon.

Here is what it might have looked in ANet’ system. Your guild leader ( whose account is under his name ), lets call him Bob. The system sees Bob is trying to using Maqique’s card who is not the right name to buy gem. Then, Maqique logs into the account and sent Bob 6g via ingame mail.

Without knowing you know each other, anyone would find it fishy why Bob is trying to use your card and failed and then your account go and send him 6 g.

There is an NPC now dress up as Mad King in LA fountain and will give you the witch hat if you ask him for it. I think the NPC will be there for about 2 weeks. It should give you enough time to get the witch hat.

Hijynx, you will need to submit a ticket to have the email changed. I would suggest getting an email with authentication such as Gmail and add the authenticator to both email and GW2 account.

1. I think your account is suspended because you shared your account which breach the user agreement.

2. The ticket running queue is 24-48 hours so you have to wait for the response. If over three days and still no response then post the ticket number in the “ticket over 3 days for review” sticky thread.

3. I don’t know know if you can even argue it’s wrongful ban since you openly posted that you shared your account info with your brother. Even if you edit that part out I think ANet forum actually keep all the modification done to threads.

That would explain why your account was banned. Account sharing is not allowed even within family. I know people probably still do, but within the same house/IP. In your case, it was complete two IPs and constantly logging into the same account.

No matter what is the reason that you got your account back. It does show account DO go back to owner under some cases. It is still good to know and better than “it will never happen”

If you have friends in game, I would ask them via email or other method you can find them and ask if they see your account is online. Your account might be hacked.

Also, submit a ticket if you have not done it yet.

Nope, just a player who is bored at work and lurk the forum LOL. Unless you are just so unlucky and were around a bunch of bots and was mistaken by other players to be part of the bot group and reported by error. I can’t know think of any more possibilities why you were banned for botting XD.

I hope you can get it sort out soon though.

Sometimes I would click on one of my bag slot tab by accident and hide one of the bags I have. I tend to do that all the time and I can’t find some item I want XD

If you switched from Cable to FiOs, your IP would have changed and you should have gotten an email form ANet to authorize the new IP login. Did you get that email ?

Your account was banned because you were hacked and the hacker probably used your account for gold selling and stuff, hence no compensation since it’s not ANet’s fault you were hacked. I know at the moment they have no tool to restore items to characters so I wish you the best getting back into game. Use Authenticator if you have not.

Are any of your guildmates banned ? One thing I can think of might be someone who is involved in RMT sent you stuff and you were dragged into the mess. If your ticket is more than 3 days old, post it in the sticky thread for review.

I was just at Gendarran field with my guardian. I was able to travel between LA to Gendarran field and back to LA. I think it’s server + zone issue.

@Enfield Yes people do get back their account with a legit new key once the account is investigated and clear of forbidden activities.

Do you guys buy your game key from authorized retailer or third party key seller ? There is a ban wave on many unauthorized seller because they used stolen credit cards to buy keys and resell those keys online.

One thing to keep in mind, players are probably not banned because what they were doing at that moment when the ban hammer came down. It is MORE LIKELY that someone reported you before that time period and ban hammer came down after a brief initial investigation.

If all your characters are stuck at Hoelbrak, you might have to wait a bit. Or, you can try to post it on their official twitter account. It might take a while before someone actually see this since its 3AM over Seattle.

Congratz on finally getting the account back. In term of Key region issue, I thought it only affect you when you try to register the key into the account. I think you might be right that they use it already to reactivate your account. I would suggest to verify it with the support or Gaile to make sure there is no future issue arise from this curious situation.

Again, thanks for posting your final result. As such, we can put “ANet will never reinstate an account banned for fraudulent CC.”

It probably will help the community if you can also post it in the three days review thread since there is a rumor that ANet will not return the account no matter what.

It is changed to this because too many people have their email account hacked and game account stolen. They do this so thieves can’t change user’s login account freely.

It sounds like you are not from US and the edition might be the digital deluxe version. If you are not from US, it might be why the price is 89.98 ( it depends on your local tax and whatnot )

Also, are you using some sort of prepaid credit card ? I know sometimes those are varies and that might be why it is having problem.

You seem to read into it too much. She did not “assume the frauded code victim are RMT, and will not reinstate back the account, seems like they making easy solution.”

She said “it can take a bit of time to find out that information, and so giving the option to “add a new code and get right back onto the account” seems to be a risky proposition.” Meaning, in some cases, once the account is verified and the new code is verified, they will give the owner the account back. They just dont want people to be able to apply a new code and go right back into the game.

With the amount of stolen CC purchased key being used in the game. I do not think you can blame ANet wants to take this more seriously. If they allow people just simply apply a code and get back in, it would only allow the current situation to get worse. Farmers will just continue to apply stolen codes inbetween account be caught. It adds even more work for already burdened support.

That is what I was trying to say. I did have to wait for days for my ticket to get answered. It was an account error and I was not able to play the game at all.

As for the 13 days and no response, we only has his post and we don’t know the whole story. I try not to make a judgment from that hence my comment on "not all thing on internet is true. That just reminds me when GW2 first released, people are banned and said they did nothing wrong. CS then asked on reddit about their user name and tell them exactly what they did wrong. ALL of those who claimed to be “innocent” turned out to be NOT innocent at all.

It is the cyber space, people say whatever they want. It is up to us to decide what is true or not.

I mentioned this on the other thread. The best way I can think of is to make sure the computer is clean. Then, create a new gmail, use google authenticator on the gmail. Then, add authenticator to your gw2 account as well.

That way, you have more security with your email and gw2 account.
