Holy ^&*! Anet. Please look into these claims. This is insane. The class went from playable to broken over night. Like come on, who ever is testing these changes needs to be “reviewed”. Perhaps put up a test server so the public can test changes before they go live? The fact that these changes were made live in their current state says a lot regarding the QA testing that goes on over there.

Blanket statements by random bads that provide no proof, no evidence, no nothing but lies and slander. I can make false accusations too, watch: Warriors one shot my 80 full exotic geared Mesmer and Thief, I have no chance to react, blah blah blah. See how easy that was? See what I did there?

Bravo OP, /clap. That was fun to watch. I have a 80 Necro that was my first character and I’m nowhere near as skilled as that with the class. Good job!

So two people killed a bunch of bads and the world is supposed to stop and nerfs be made? 1) GJ killing the bads. 2) Expect trolls to use this as a means to justify Thief nerfs, let’s not add more fuel to their fire. 3) kitten those guys are bad if this really happened.

Why is this in the Thieves forum?

Because in about 5 days the Thief class will possibly be nerfed into the ground due to accusations that we do too much damage from melee/stealth. If you can use your brain you will see that this Warrior is doing more damage from ranged yet it is “ok”. Please try to comprehend simple things when they are put in front of you…………

It’s ok bro. Do what ever you have to do to sleep easy at night. This damage is perfectly justified, no need to investigate lol…….

justified damage? go look at the screenshots of thieves doing 30k+ damage to stunned helpless people while they remain in stealth, without 25 stacks of might.

Per my sig you can see 2 of the 3 classes I play, the 3rd is a Necro. None of my classes can do this(21k damage). I’ve been on the receiving end of 12k back stabs on my Mesmer and Thief (both are in Exotic everything) so I know what it’s like. When I get the 3 hitter quitter combo done to me on my Mesmer it does indeed make me rage but I’m a glass cannon Mes so I know what to expect. I’ve also dealt 16k to a lowbie before the nerf to Assassins Signet. With that said, do you think what you’ve seen in this video is fair? I know each class can play a ranged spec but this is nuts. On my Thief and Mes I’ve been hit for 12k+ Killshots from Warriors.

Can you please post the build link again as the ones above are not working. Also your name is familiar. DAOC? Mid Merlin, frequent the VN boards, etc?

After the usual weekend drop off we were still out there and doing well. We weren’t in first but we held our own and were still putting up a fight. Then this god kitten pve event happened and that was the final nail in the coffin for this match. Oh well, better luck next time. Regardless this past weekend was one of the best WvW experiences I’ve had since DAOC. Let’s keep fighting IOJ!

I can confirm Thieves still get his by attacks in stealth and take damage as I play both a Thief and a Mesmer :-)

Bads are still gonna get wrecked by people who know what they are doing. This changes nothing.

Rune of the Centaur is my answer to our slowness problem.

Grants 3% damage for each of your active illusions. Does anyone know if this 3% (9% if you have 3 Illusions up at the time of Shatter) is actually taken into consideration when when you Shatter your Illusions? The Illusions exist at the time of Shatter so I want to believe so but if any extensive testing has been done to confirm this it would be much appreciated.

My Mesmer, I love her. 80 Necro and 80 Thief , none of them matter. I love this class and every thing about it.

Or perhaps you can make a new thief, transmute the helm onto another low level helm, put the newly transmuted helm in your bank. Now logon to your level 80 and transmute the helm in your bank to the helm you’d like to use.

Realm Ranks ala DAOC would be a good start.

The OP is a baddie who doesn’t know how to PvP and got destroyed by someone who probably knew wtf he doing, that thief laughed all the way to the bank because you 3 were foolish enough to stay tight grouped when engaging a S/P thief. Why is that when bads get destroyed they come to the forum to QQ instead of thinking and analyzing why they lost the fight. I guess it’s easier to call for nerfs than to improve ones game play. I play a D/D thief specced in Back Stab, I LLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEE stealthing into a group, dropping a person and getting the hell out of dodge. Does that make me OP that I can kill a person quickly and efficiently? No, it means that I know what the hell I’m doing in pvp engagements unlike many who choose to QQ instead of stepping their pvp game up.

Why is it that the one of the Thiefs primary counter classes is getting his butt whooped and he feels a need to come to the forums and QQ. There are many factors as to why you could be getting rocked so hard. What is your gear like? What is your armor at? What is your Toughness? You mentioned Masterwork which I believe is green quality, that’s trash, sorry. I run 4pc Exotic Valkyrie and 2 pc Exotic Zerker for my armor, 1 Exotic lvl 80 dagger and one Rare/Gold level 80 dagger and the highest BS I’ve landed has been 10k against some clothie who I’m sure was low level and poorly geared. My jewelry only consists of 3 gold pieces and the rest blues (working on getting golds/exotics)You can’t come here and complain about getting destroyed when you yourself are running a glass cannon build with NO defense stats at all. Like come on…..

Asking for video proof so Anet can be made aware of the issue (if there is one) is not having anything to contribute? Sounds like you cannot comprehend simple English and logic. The same way someone can say something exists or is happening is the same way someone can say it didn’t happen. How do we find who’s telling the truth? With VIDEO PROOF.

Where’s the video proof? Stealth breaks on attack, unless you ran into some dude who found a way to exploit the system I’m going to call BS. After the thief attacks you from stealth they cannot stealth again for 3 seconds due to a debuff the thief receives. Bads will be bads, it cannot be helped.

I’m planning on going to my brothers house tonight to test this. This happens on my laptop and my desktop.

Still no answer to this from Anet……starting to loose my faith.

Bump…Need this resolved as it is severely hindering my character progression.

A fresh download/install of the game did not resolve the issue. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I am having the same exact thing happening to me and I’ve submitted 3 tickets for it and have yet to receive a response. I’ve also purchased Gems and my bank card has been charged yet I did not receive the gems at all. Please advise Arena Net.

Anet, I cannot purchase anything off the TP, it returns an error stating my order did not match any current listing. Please refresh. I have attempted to purchase gems and my bank card was charged but I received NO GEMS. Please look into this ASAP!
