I am not a champion but with focus on tpvp i win much more than with dagger offhand. The advantages of focus is that with skill in earth and in water (4) i last much more and so i do more damage for my team. For example playing against a thief or with a thief around, for me , is simpler if i have focus . Probably it is a problem of mine but i find difficult to finish all the classic fresh air s/d combos … and if it misses i find really hard to survive

Yeah to add on to this, S/F has more survivability because when you take mist form/arcane shield you can cycle through your invulns more often. It basically allows you to become untouchable at certain times and timing when you can engage/disengage is very crucial since you’re still very squishy.

Aside from that, I think S/D isn’t bad, but I just prefer focus offhand more as it allows you not to have to be in melee range as dagger offhand forces you to to use its abilities.

To follow up: I’m going to make a standard combo video to show everyone all the S/F combos I do and how to utilize them since that was just requested today. I thought it’d be a good idea.

Personally if like guests on the show with you. Of course you alone have a lot to offer the community in terms of techniques and rotations and tactics, but it would be interesting if you could bring guests who have conflicting perspectives.

I would love to see top players with controversy, whether its build-wise, rotation wise etc. and not just passive controversy but more towards the heated side.

Also, since you are frequently on teams it would be interesting to see what makes a player stand out to top teams? Is your personal skill supposed to shine? Is it more about personality? Is it about legacy? Obviously it’s a bit of everything and some aspects are more important to some than others, but I guess what I am asking is: for people currently established and for those who do want to enter the competitive tPvP scene, what advice would you give them?

I would also like to see it focused on more advanced rotations and tactics than the simple things. Getting more in depth with countering certain rotations with certain classes/players. Also, I think specific anecdotes would really help put the situation into perspective instead of hypotheticals, but hypos are still much better than nothing.

Lastly, many players watch things like this from top players and think there is one ‘best’ answer and tend to ostracize players who don’t instantly follow what top players are saying. Meaning, with regards to rotations, if players don’t rotate like X then it is ‘bad’ whereas Y could also be a viable and even more intelligible rotation. Same applies to builds, strategy, comps, etc

I’m sure I could offer more input but I won’t flood your thread especially since I honestly don’t know exactly what this is about.

I want to start a new youtube series on more in-depth spvp decision making, rotations, and matchups. What kind of things should I include?

This won’t be necessarily class specific, as I’ve technically played every class (just to see what they can do), but I’ve only extensively played Ele, Warrior, Engi, Mesmer, but I know most of the popular builds that all the classes use, so I can always have input on that.

Going on the forums to ask for suggestions is a bit of a stretch, so I don’t know how productive this will be. I might go do things on my own, but good feedback is appreciated.

The DPS guys are hella good. I have no doubt they’ll run this smoothly.

My name is Bao. I go by Zoose on here. A little bit about me:

In the NA scene I played with Team Paradigm NA and SOAC. I am mostly known for my Elementalist play. I have been away from the game for 9 months, so in my opinion my matchup knowledge is still a work in progress.

In EU I have competitively played for Nonstop Nonsense (NN) mostly as a warrior (2 months or so). Due to work and school I was unable to continue playing. I now only work since I have finished school. I have also played for a short time with TCG (Denial/Curse). I have spent a reasonable amount of time in the EU scene on and off. I am lead to believe they are further ahead in terms of quality and quantity of teams as well as stability and longevity.

My current main classes: Ele, Warrior, Engi

I would love to play on NA, but with the lack of competition I would rather play on EU.

Always looking to improve myself and my teammates.
