So disappointed.
I would like to suggest to the people who are upset about this and/or are thinking of quitting that the rest of the game is still fun. It’s flawed but fun and I think we can still enjoy what we have in a post ascended world. We do have a voice, though but complaining on here isn’t going to have as much impact as we would like, so my suggestion would be that we boycott The Lost Shores content. I don’t want to do the ascended gear dance, so I think I’m going to spend this weekend playing with the friends I invited in the original content.
If it turns out that I’m wrong and ascended gear is no big deal then I can always come back to the content that remains from this weekend with a boombox and a mixtape, but until then I’m just going to boycott the content. It’s not intended for me anyways.
This is disappointing. I realize that “slight is slight,” but given time and repeated “slight” then power creep is still power creep. Honestly, my toons still aren’t in exotic gear. Now obviously I’m not the hardcore gamer, but I play this game a fair amount and if I feel like I’m falling behind on some gear treadmill I’ll likely only play the game casually as if it were a single player game.
+1 for not adding new professions. I think adding new weapons would be a much more effective way of adding diversity to playstyles without increasing to the powercreep too much.
Yeah, +1 for a town clothes NPC in the home instance. I want to keep some town clothes items, but not taking up space in my inventory or bank.
I too would like to see a linux client for GW2. I’ve toyed with linux in the past, but the two things keeping me tied to windows are GW and photography. There have been a few key advances in linux for photographers lately so a full transition seems plausible at this time, assuming GW were to put out a linux client.
Yeah, this is pretty frustrating. I came up with a cool concept for a character based around this armor and I like how the character plays, but he really needs this armor. I just went to the PvP locker and looked through every set and hated them all. It’s too bad because the toon is level 38 already but I don’t want to progress him if I’ll never get an armor I like on him and conversely if this armor never gets back into the game then I really don’t want him eating up a character slot.
Jeez, talk about first world problems…
Same on Blackgate.
Same problem, everytime I go below to deal with the ooze I get bumped back on top.
Map: Cursed Shore
Quest: Ships of the Line
Character Level: 80
Race: Sylvari
Professions: Guardian
Party: Solo
Does it reoccur: Yes
I have seen lots of sylvari talking about love all over the place and for the most part I don’t really notice gender at all, which means they’ve done their job quite well, in my opinion. So no, it doesn’t feel forced to me at all. It feels very fluid and natural.
I generally have a spider named Hee Bee Gee Bee at some point as well as often having a feline named Soft Kitty.
My wife is having similar issues. We were hesitant about pets during beta, but when launch came they performed much better, not amazing, but better. After this last patch for the pet AI, her pet has been behaving poorly and her enjoyment of her ranger has dropped dramatically. Her pet doesn’t respond properly to commands and behaves somewhat randomly in combat. If it isn’t fixed relatively soon, she may have to consider starting over, which would be a massive bummer for both of us.
Make helmet and shoulder removal apply to the character selection screen

Yeah, the easiest implementation would probably be to just make it global. Hide/unhide in all. I did kinda like the GW system of hide/unhide in explorable areas and/or towns, but it’s probably best to just make it universal. If you want you can change to town clothes in town.
But yeah, I would like the cutscenes and loading screen to reflect my aesthetic choices for my character.
I can’t speak to arena’s, but duels have come up in various threads on various forums and I think it’s something that can be done well. First, there needs to be an “auto decline duels” option for those who never want to do it. Second, it would probably be best to do it in one spot, whether it’s in the mists or a mini arena in LA I sorta don’t care.
For me, it’s an issue of concurrency. Right now I don’t have trouble finding a dungeon group, but as the number of concurrent players drops and transitions more to endgame it will be a lot harder to find groups for lower level dungeons so I think a LFG system would be beneficial in the long run. For now I can find an AC team, but later on it will be tougher and tougher especially as more end game type content is added.
Personally, I really like the realism of the current pets, drakes and devourers aside. I’m not fond of the idea of people running around with monster pets. I know people like their fantasy pets, but it totally bugs me.
Personally, I want the tropical bird, and my wife always seems to favor crocodiles so those are my first choices. Beyond that, I think the stags and moose would be fun, turtles, dolfins and crabs for aquatic.
I think if they did add offhand sword it would end up not being a DPS weapon anyway. Personally, I feel like the guardian has a good variety of weapon options and playstyles.
I’ve been running Mace/Torch and Greatsword. Granted, I’m only level 35, but I find that with a little extra toughness I can move into a group, drop my symbols and hit torch skill #4 and just make it painful for any enemies near me even before I hit the GS AoE.
