Yea, these last days i’m getting tons of them.
Also i think they use some kind of hack… how it’s possible to write such a long message? isn’t there a limit on number of characters?
Also another thing that surprises me is that if they’re gold sellers, how come they don’t put any website? If you took it off from the picture I really understand it (bc you’re posting here in the forums), but I swear that all the PMs I’m getting is all “XXX gold for XXX USD blablablablabla” and no reference to any website all. For me it’s really strange.
[now don’t missunderstand… i know that gold selling / buying is against the ToS or whatever GW2 rules, and I will not break these rules (i can’t just trash all the hours and money alredy spent in this game with a permaban!) but it just surprises me they don’t say where do they come from….]
I think it would be nice if we had an option to lock collectibles in our bag.
For instance, I have that mini I really want to use, and if by accident (bc I didn’t remember that the mini is a collectible) i click on “Deposit all collectibles” it gets into my bank and I can’t take it back until I reach another city.
So it would be nice to have the option to lock/unlock some collectibles into your bag, so you can’t deposit them into your bank
I think it would be funny to see a 40 Mesmer zerg…. and 5 seconds later it’s only 10-Mesmer group *giggle"
Same for asura necros going minions…. a 70-zerg and they’re really 10 muahaha
Myself I think there are too many thieves… just because I hate them since it’s the only class I can’t beat succesfully… all the hiding and backstabbing stuff x.x
But I don’t complain… I think it’s pretty well balanced, since other classes thieves are a just a joke.
What I’d advise is try to play mesmer or guardian for a while and you will find their weaknesses, or you will realize they’re not as OP as you thought they were.
This thread has been repeated a lot. And for me I came to the conclusion that the best solution for double teaming is to make the top player punctuate only.
In this way, the two teams that doesn’t punctuate want to get in the first position, so will battle against the top player, until he’s not top. And then the roles will switch.
The only way that this can be breaked it’s then having a zerg assist another server to take the towers / keeps, but once everything is cleared, then let the assisted server take the tower/keep. But this is too hard, as there’s allways that random that will get into the capture circle and it’s kind of hard to distinguish players of different servers.
Very interesting… and looks awesome : O
I’d really want to try playing with 3 monitors.
But I wonder…. isn’kitten bit uncomfortable? I mean, if you want to look at the minimap or at your party you have to flip your whole head? I think i kind of miss having everything in the same place, as it’s faster to see.
(Imagine driving a car without driving mirrors….)
Maybe… just maybe what would be fair is to close WvW during the night, say from 1:00 to 7:00.
But you can’t go like “Oh, we win during weekends and loose during week days, let’s propose that WvW only works in weekends”. This is for loosers.
And again, Anet said it’s a game for everyone. And what if there’s someone that only plays at 4am? (maybe night-time worker?)
Or in BB we have some south americans (not too many…. by now i’ve only met 2, don’t think now that these are who nightcap….). This would forbid them to enther WvW and probably it’s unfair.
I am on EU Gold league and know how baruch plays and when. They make the largest portion of their points at night.
Yea, sure. Q.Q and moar Q.Q
Lemme fix that for you -> They make the largest portion of their points at evening/night (since night is what follows the evening). And most of the guilds stop their raids at 23:00-24:00.
It’s not even 23:30 and we have 2/3 of all the punctuation.
(edited by blackoil.2673)
BB doesn’t win because of night capping. We are not zombies, we also sleep.
Just look at today’s pie chart. BB has had 50% of the punctuation during the whole day.
It’s about weekend. In weekend we’re allways outnumbered except from 21-23. And during the weeks we have 30-60 min of queue from 17:00 ’till 24.
If it were something like 2 weekend days, 3 week days would be more fair imo. There’s allways 1 day that acts as bridge.
Also keep in mind that Anet try to make this game for everyone. There’s people that can’t play in the weekends. Me 2 years ago for example, where in the weekends I didn’t have internet because I moved to another village (“holiday” house). Making WvW only count in weekends would make week-play boring….
(edited by blackoil.2673)
Yea, not good, there are servers that are not active in the weekends.
Just like Baruch Bay. We have the Outnumbered buff so often during the weekends. People just don’t log in (Maybe they’re all in the beach enjoying the sun~~~). Making WvW only in the weekends would kill servers like BB.
As an aside, the living story updates became so frequent that they provided new content very often but for someone with not a lot of play time it became a bit like ADD. Here’s new content, no wait go look at this, quick something else!
And I missed out on completing achievements for some living story components as they seem to close upon every second piece of content.
This, this is the point. Some time ago I made a post saying exactly that, and everyone in the forum was “Ewww dude, that’s a success, one update every two weeks it’s perfect, you suck!!!”.
Can’t you see quantity <<<<< (is much less important than) quality? I really rather have 1 LS update every month, or every two months than just have mediocre stories being spammed every 2 weeks. I personally don’t have time to enjoy it.
Before you went into this craziness I was enjoying every LS. Now for me it just became a tool to get Achivement Points. The stories are really boring, and I really don’t have time to get into the flow of it.
What I would really love is more resources put into fixing the few bugs there are, and making the gameplay more fun, in every aspect of the game (PvE, PvP and WvW).
You know who thinks that their match is 2v1 against them? Everyone. You know how often it’s actually happening? Almost never. You could log into 3 servers playing each other, and every one will have chatter saying the other two are working together against them.
But you know it’s true when it happens what I explained 3 times already. Wiping out the raid that’s invading a tower from behind when they’re inside [doors down] and then just leave the tower to the other team.
I’ve been thinking of something…. once you hit “endgame” [that is, with a full set that you like], farming gold gets so easy…. but worthless. Like… what do you want gold for?
Myself I just keep buying gems “just in case” when there’s a sale that i’m interested in the prices are higher than now. But now I find myself with tons of gems and gold that I will not use. And I’m not even close to endgame.
But a guildie also has so much gold that he doesn’t mind sharing. For him gold is also useless.
This doesn’t make the game boring. We love going to dungeons, fractals, PvP and WvW. But there’s no point in making gold. The sensation is weird….. bc gold is a reward that you feel happy when you have it… but then you realize you don’t know how to spend it. And I remember few months ago how much I wanted gold to get my set. And I ended up just farming it in Ascalon *giggle". And at the starting times I was struggling to not use teleports, as they were soo expensive (and i’m talking about when I was lvl60, with each teleport arround 1 silver…)
A legendary? 4.000 gold for a skin? Are we nuts? All the time that needs to be put it’s not worth for a skin from my point of view. And then I’m thinking… and what will the player that’s selling this 4.000 gold legendary do with all that gold?
Do you think that gw2 should put some kind of “usefullness” on gold in endgame?
(edited by blackoil.2673)
This has nothing to do with “country alliances”. This has to do with points. A tower that Jade Sea gets against Baruch is worth double the PPT than if Vizunah held it themselves.
That’s pretty clear. But let me explain that case again, bc i think you didn’t understand it:
1. JS holds one Tower
2. A BB raid starts attacking the tower to invade it
3. When they’re about to get it, a Vizunah zerg appears from behind and wipes all BB Raid.
4. Vizunah just leaves the tower to JS, without invading it.
It’s true that for JS point of view, owning a tower instead of BB owning it means “double” points, since we were fighting for the 2nd place. But what does Vizunah have to do in it? It was really clear that he’d be first, and for so much difference, so Vizunah shouldn’t care about who’s server is that tower, and clearly they picked JS.
Again, the point of this thread is not to discuss if this is true. I really have no proof.
And the reply i saw “It happens and will always happen” it’s not really valid. Unless you are The Doctor, you can’t predict the future.
When i say it’s 2vs1 it’s not that the whole server was against us. There were attacks from Vizunah to Jade Sea, of course.
And that’s why I’m saying that just keeping these two servers away is bad, because there are legitimate players/commanders that don’t focus on one server, and they have fun fighting vs the other two servers.
What i open this post is not about let’s discuss if this is true or not. Because there is no proof of neither if it is or not. But it’s more in the way of:
“If it happens, then it’s bad because it’s frustrating for the one that’s being focused. Is there any way where the game could solve this, without affecting other parts?”
@Malediktus. LOL actually it’s WvW, and not WvWvW. Just look at the tittle of this forum.
@Garuda. I don’t think Vizunah really cares about us when we are not even a threat for them. They will be first, and we are fighting for the 4th position or so. And this 2vs1 is now happening with the German servers, but in a smaller scale that Vizunah was. Vizunah’s case was… exaggerated.
@Reverence. I’m in a guild that every day we do Raid in WvW and I agree it’s amazingly fun (to make it clear, i’m not talking about a random zerg. We’re a group of 10-20 people in a TS with a commander, all from the same guild, and each one with his/her role). But for me it’s frustrating that all effort we put into WvW goes into nothing when it comes to server results, as the other servers just keep “bullying” us. So it’s fun while we’re in the Raid, but then frustration to see that so much effort goes into nothing.
If we loose because the other servers are better than ours, then it’s understandable, and so not as frustrating. But looks really unfair to know that you can’t be first because they’re “friend servers”.
I’m really sick of having pairments where it’s basically 2 servers vs 1 other. This allways happens when there’s 2 servers from the same country.
If I can name & shame, it was very clear in the second round of this league, Vizunah vs Jade Sea vs Baruch Bay.
You would see Baruch invading a Jade Sea tower, some minutes after, a Vizunah zerg comming from behind wipes all the Baruch invaders and just leave the tower to Jade sea (without invanding it). And this happened not once, but many and many times.
This makes it very unfair for servers that don’t have “friend” servers. Isn’t there any solution for that?
I know it’s really hard… You can’t just say “Don’t match up two servers of the same country” because that would take the possibility of matching them (ofc). And what if someone wants to?…. I think it’s even fun to match another server from your own country… but this kinds of “server alliances” just keep things unfair and frustrating for the others.
Will Anet try to fix that in some way? How do you think it can be fixed?
[From now on, just some shouting/brainstorming]
Only if the matches were made of 4 servers, then you could make that at most 2 servers are from the same country, and this would take the “alliance” effect a bit down. But this solution it’s probably not good, because if we have lag with 3-server matchups, how many lag will we have with 4-server matchups? o.o
Maybe 2-server match-ups? Why not? I know it gets some WvW strategy down, but that will completely fix this issue…
There should be some way of fixing that with the current 3-server matchups. Any ideas?
Why are mesmers allways females, pinks, and seem useless? Q.Q
If that’s the reason then imo they should have make it get to the lowest possible value. Mob doesn’t reset and aggro is not lost [completely].
Then you’re saying that yes, stealth is useless and it doesnt work in PvE, right?
Mobs also fight my clones often enough. But myself I found many times where stealth could save me and he didn’t bc of how aggro system works.
Maybe for you it’s not needed, but i’m not changing my whole build for a game system that’s not working properly. I love the way I play my build.
When i finished my story with my ranger, there was “Fear not this night” with voice in the ending of the story (the quest in fort trinity celebrating the death of the dragon).
Now 4-5 months after, I finished it with my mesmer, and there is no music at all. Just some credit text scrolling in my screen (which I can’t actually remember).
Is this a bug? If it’s not, that ending music really made me cry from emotion. Why did you take it out?
Or maybe i’m wrong and there was no music in the ending…. but I’d bet for it!
edit: Confirmed it’s a bug. After the time the “Fear not this night” should be playing, another music just started (Snaff’s workshop)
(edited by blackoil.2673)
In PvP i say it’s awesome. Maybe even overpowered in some cases. But in PvE it’s absolutely useless, given the aggro system that GW2 has.
When you pop into stealth, you will still get hit by the skills that were being channeled (and… OK). Then you loose aggro for the seconds you’re into stealth (that in the mesmer case it’s not greater than 6 seconds) and right when you pop back, all mobs attack you again.
So.. stealth doesn’t reset your aggro. One think that’s unique for the mesmer is the ability to confound the oponent by summoning clones and going into stealth. In PvP this works wonders (unless the oponent it’s really skilled)… but why mobs in PvE just know who you are? This makes clones useless!
Well, yea, they’re not useless… but in such critical moments that you’re about to die because you have 4 mobs attacking you, if you do decoy it should reset the aggro and the mobs should keep attacking the clone while you get healed or just flee.
Why are mobs more skilled than an average player in PvP for detecting the original mesmer?
If you have a mobile phone you can use Google Authenticator… it’s a bit hard to set up, but then it’s way faster to log in.
I think you activate it by going to “My Account” → “Security”. I can’t remember and now that’s activated I can’t guide you through there.
Another thing you can do is check de box “Remember this network” when authenticating. So when you connect from the same network you will be authenticated automatically (but this means that if someone knows your e-mail and gw2 password, he will be able to log into your gw2 account from the same network you’re in!)
Hope this helps
Being from a Green Borderlands I’m ashamed from all those people that say “Agree 100%”. This is just a stupid statement… but it’s not even a statement. It can be said once (or twice, the most), but that much really makes you think it’s just a bunch of people that together they said “Hey, let’s spam the forum”.
That being said, it’s true that it feels like in the green borderlands (and only in the green borderlands) there’s so much people missing. I would request the dev’s to look carefully into them.
“Also the people who make content are not usually the same people who can fix bugs or gameplay, they are not programmers, instead they use the tools that the programmers made for the content developers to use.”
Probably false. They made a post someday making a balance about the first year. And they talked about the “progress” they made about making first 1 release every 2 months, then 1 release every month and they just started to do 1 release every 2 weeks (and just saying how succesful that is).
First of all, this means that either, they are the game developers and the content developers are the same people, or that they just hired more content developers (and maybe firing some game developers?). In that case, more game developers could be hired.
And I repeat, for me it’s not successful. I guess it really depends on each people where do they put the border. In the extremes, there might be someone that thinks that 1 release each day is perfect, and in the other side, someone says that 1 big release every year is more than enough.
I think this have been told before… but can’t find it.
Imo a living world release every 2 weeks is too much. I’d rather that you spend those developing resources in bugfixing and gameplay.
Why too much?
-> 2 weeks is not enough to finish the living world for many players (not all of them, ofc). Just look in “Living world” achievement menu and you will find 3… “Tower of Madness”, “WvW Season 1”, “Blood and Madness”)
-> I’ve lost the track of living world. In each realease I have to think what has happened, and many times I really don’t know. I just don’t have enough time to digest the story.
-> All these resources spent on this “one release every 2 week” madness just makes other parts of the game obsolete. The WvW queue is the one that people is most asking for this week, and it looks like it was broken since the game was released.
Can’t you really fix things before adding new and new and new stuff? Why are you following that silly -really silly- rule?
I’d say 1 release per month would be enough. Would give you time to work on other things besides living world and would give us time to enjoy it, without having to rush.
A stealth thief I also don’t find it broken. If you are careful you can always spot him and kill him. Mesmers also have stealth skills (And this is often how I hide myself from others).
Saying that be careful not to kill him when he’s close to the gate doesn’t work. Just imagine a full zerg. How many people knows that they don’t have to kill him? And even more now, that there’s people that just come in WvW for the Achivements.
It’s just impossible to keep him alive if he’s near the gate. And even like that, he can use the 2 skill when downed and “for great luck” get in range to be rezzed.
This is broken. IMO this should be fixed. Or at least, reportable and punishable.
There’s something that I think it can be considered an exploit, that would make to take western keeps of each of the 3 WvW maps (Dreadfall, Dreaming and Ascension) “easily”, using at least one mesmer and a companion.
The idea is that after a failed attempt to take the keep, the mesmer goes to the underwater gate in the east of the keep.
If the mesmer is not killed, then he would put a portal and let everyone in to take the keep, and that’s “OK”. But the problem is that if the mesmer is killed, then all he have to do is wait everyone to leave, and then wait for a partner to rez him from outside of the keep, since the gate is so thin that people can rez each others with the gate in between.
This causes these mesmers to be like “invencible”. If they’re not killed, they set up portal. If they are killed, they just wait for some companion to rez them, and they set up portal again.
Ofc they can be ressed anywhere in the WvW map, but it’s not as important as taking another’s party keep.
IMO this is broken. My suggestion would be either to make a thicker gate, or to put 2 gates one after the other. [btw, the gate it’s just a wall, can’t be openend…]
I think I got it fixed. Never can be sure, but I played for some time and it didn’t crash again.
It was my GPU driver was outdated. And I thought it was updated b/c of Microsof’ts “Device Manager – Check for driver updates”. Yeah, great stuff… my GPU driver was from 2010 (and the tech guy told that there’re updates every 5-6 months…).
In my case, i have a NVIDIA GPU, I went here http://www.geforce.com/drivers, clicked “Auto-Detect Your GPU” and just install the update that they say.
I’ve been playing for 2 days after updating and I didn’t have any crash yet.
I just submited a support ticket. If there’s any fix I will post it here.
Since some time my game (and computer) crashes randomly. First I thought it was temperature issue, but now it crashes even when the PC is not warmed. And these crashes only happen with GW2.
I’m playing and randomly (most of the times is when I do some kind of action (like talk to a NPC, open Black Lion Company, etc)) the sound freezees (making weird sounds) and my screen goes to something like the screenshot I attached for ~3 seconds (it’s not a screenshot, it’s made with paint to show the idea (can’t take screenshot while my PC is crashing….)).
I checked my Documents/GuildWars2 folder for log files. Strange, it only contains the folder “Screens” with my screenshots. No Local.dat, no log files.
I put -log into my shortcut to gw2.exe. Still no logfile anywhere
I just checked my NVIDIA settings as the topic “Black screen in NVIDA issue” says. Everything is OK.
What happened with the log files? and the Local.dat? Maybe ArenaNet hide them somewhere else?
Anyone has any idea how to fix that? Yeah, having the log files would help, but I really don’t know where to find them, or where to make them appear…
Also, I tried with the option -umbra gpu, hoping that releasing a bit the gpu would fix it. It just crashes more often. I just checked and my drivers are also updated.
The two bosses thing, I think that killing first the oil one and then the fire it’s way more hard. First we tried it that way and failed like 3-4 times. Then we decided to switch first target and it went ok.
You just have to see when the ooze gets your aggro and you have to pull him to the oil spots. And if players are close to each other, it will be easier to clean the oil.
Then when the oil boss is alone, just kill him fast, while cleaning the oil with the ooze.
I agree that it’s annoying to walk back and forth between crafting and TP as well.
However I think the path is alright. It’s not a big burden just bear it.This might be just my opinion and you don’t want your virtual character to get fat. xDD
lol xDD
My char does enough exercise fighting Zhaitan’s forces in Orr =P
I think it would be really, really nice to have a new waypoint in Lion’s Arch next to the Trading Post.
The nearest Waypoint there is ’Trader’s Forum Waypoint’, but I still think it’s too far for the uses i do… (It’s perfect for accessing the bank) I mean, maybe i’m checking that TP 4 or 5 times every day, and without a speed buf it gets really boring.
I don’t know if other players feel like the same… Ofc I rather have new updates, but I think this would be fairly ‘easy’ to fix.
