It’s crazy to me since this Thread is now nearly 1 Year old, but yet nothing or very small things the OP mentioned about the sound has changed in GW2, although there once was this interview with the sound artists from ArenaNet that they’re planning on further enhancing or well, adjusting the GW2 Music all around Tyria better to match the enviroment the Player currently is in, so that there would also be more variety.

Well, I really just hope there will be at some point or time in the life of GW2 an update in this direction, I’d really appreciate and welcome it, since sounds for me, also play a big role in immersion and enjoying an game.

+1 , if I would’ve started GW2 yesterday / today, I’d honestly regret the money I spend on the game and say kitten it, definitly not gonna play this any further.

About 3-4 Hours I guess? What does it matter, if you don’t get your hopes up for a good patch with interesting stuff in it, or aren’t hyped for LS2 at all anyway, because you don’t want to get disappointed, then it also shouldn’t matter when the patch goes live.

Just keep on playing the game, patch will definitly come with time.

Sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun, so count me in as well xD I’m gonna play my warrior, since I have the most experience with that char in pvp.

as the title says, this is mainly a “Show-Off” Thread for everyone, the main idea is the following, if you think you’ve achievemnt something incredible by rarity or rarity and the amount of which you’ve got it, and you want to show it off to the others, this is your pleace / thread to be, but also, if you not only want to “Show-Off” your achievement, but also want to know where you stand in general terms, combining the most servers together in this forum.

Preferably your “Show-Offs” are shown with Screenshots of GW2 Ingame footage proofing that you’ve achieved what you’re claiming to have been achieved by you.

I’d like to give an Headstart, but unfortunatly I can’t proof that I’ve done what I actually say I did and well really did, since the BLTC History of “Thing I’ve sold” isn’t that complete or accurate it seems, since many things I’ve sold past the last year, aren’t shown at all in my History and it would take me forever to go through over 9k+ things I’ve ever sold so far to find every and each piece of those thatt I’ve sold so far.

But well anyway, I don’ want to be a Gamebreaker, so I claim I honestly have already gotten 40+ Pre-Cursor from the Mystic Forge in an total of 15 Months playing GW2. And I’d really love to know, how many Pre-Cursors have you gotten so far in the game?

To be t least a little bit trust worthy, I’ll show you a screen where you can see at least some Pre-Cursors I’ve sold via the BLTC so far, but as I said, the BLTC History seems bugged, so many Pre-Cursors weren’t shwon at all to me so I couldn’t take a screenshot of it.

Just finished the personal story for the second time on one of my alts, it wasn’t the same time as the first time I did it, in fact it was BETTER, mostly because there were less or well none bugs anymore like before, as well as they refined the whole way to Zaithan a little bit more so it didn’t seem to weak, although the end fight still could be done better.

But non the less, the music playing while cleaning the source of orr, just gave me the chills / goosbumps. So I cna only recommend to anyone, todo the personal story once again, and take yourself time and enjoy the music when everything is finished an zaithan is defeated.

Making music – as any art – is a little bit like playing lotto – either you have luck or just a little bit this time or none at all. I’m not saying that ‘s all that counts but it ’s an important part aside from talent and the work that has to be put into it. Maybe you should rethink about your opinion on calling something they worked for cr*p. You dont know how hard they worked for it, taking aside the fact that the content isn’t even out for you to complain about. Even if you personally don’t seem to value it first, someone else surely does (I for one do). And it certainly won’t put them into a better mood to make more amazing, memorable things like you requested.

Instead it might do the opposite – it might hinder them from moving forward, getting demotivated by such blunt senteces / insults. Don’t get me wrong, maybe you didn’t mean it that way but you should think about it. And yes I for myself made such mistakes as well (as I’m sometimes a little bit pessimisstic), thats why I’m saying you should reconsider your opinion on that part.

yep you’re right, I was a little to harsh on that part, I thought that too the next day. I didn’t meant in any way to lower the value or well the content they’re putting out with this patch and the sure huge amount of work they’ve put into it. I’m sure it’ll be fun and great, I never said it’d be crap, just that I don’t really care about it and it probably will not matter to me, but we’ll see.

Wow, I really didn’t thought that there would be so many replies on this topic, especially since it honestly was just kind of an “rage” topic which was obviously created out of, as already mentioned, an nostalgia attack which just hit me hard that day after browsing through some youtube SNES RPG soundtracks from back in the day while playing GW2 to it.

But I appreciate all your guys comments to this kind of topic with posting your fav. game intros or boss battle soundtracks, I know most of them and some are new to me since also I of course couldn’t have played all the games out there But all in all I liked them all.

And I was never trying to say that Jeremy Soule would write or create bad gaming music at all, he did and still does do some great game soundtracks which I really love, he did also do that for GW2, like the intro song and as mentioned above “The Source of Orr” or well as it is known by probably more people “The Seraph” soundtrack, but unfortunatly those are the only like really good pieces in GW2 for me, and I don’t get any feeling from the Login Screen Music while I had an huge push from the “The Seraph” soundtrack while fighting the Eye of Zaithan, which also happened only the first time, with my first char where I still was very involved with the personal story and such, well, were everything was just new and fresh you could say.

And I also think of course there are other great soundtracks in newer Games (MMORPGs), but they are either miserably placed inside the game, wrong music choices for important moments inside the game, or I was just not personally enough involved with the game, the story or my charackter to get hyped for an important boss fight to save my comrades, the world, whatever. Or sad when a comrade died in the game, something like which happened with Forgal.

So, I guess all I’m trying to say since Arenanet or well GW2 has this great thing called Living Story, I kind of would wish myself they would if they can, write an deeper story with meaning and stuff, just like the personal story, with the sounds, the drama, the first scared and then heroicness feels when encountering an villain and beating him or her, and when they could do all this, it would be even more epic if you can share those moments with your friends, joining a group and doing all this in instances.

just as an heads up, I’m like an “old-school” NES/SNES player from “back in the days”. I started playing videogames when I was like 10 or something, and I’m now 26. As probably everyone at that time, since around that time there was kind of nothing else, I used to play the NES / SNES which gave the whole gaming industry it’s spark, I played games like F-Zero, The Legend of Zelda, Secret of Mana, Terranigma and much much more games of this kind.

Now I and many of my fellow gamers from back then are by now much older by age of course, but still…

I myself still get the shivers from listening to those “songs” I’m about to show you, those songs BURNT into my memory, I say this without any shame, I literally nearly kitten myself while playing those games listening to this kind of music and playing those games…

So, my Question is, or well it is not an real question since I’m SURE that probably everyone of the Arenanet Devs. knows those games by the music listened below, do you think you will ever be able to to create such an atmosphere? Such an ambiente and story created with Living Story content? Such an piece of musicial artwork to get an player so much involved into the whole thing that a gamer will get so excited and scared by nearly shatting his pants while encountering an dungeon with a group of people to get to the final villain? Do you really think you can do something like this?

Because if you can, you will be my all time hero Arenanet, if you can create such an thing, such an scenario, I’ll be forever yours, because no game ever was able to accomplish this. And I’m telling you, I’ll not be the only one, if you can do such an thing with the Living Story content, many many players will gather to your game, even if it was through the Super Adventure Box.

00:00 – 01:52: Loging into the game, getting inside the great fantasy MMORPG world of GW2 with your characklter (In this case Kenny). Landing in the Queens Gauntlet to face Liadri (The big bre**ted girl.). Promising you enter the Arena with her awaiting to finish her off, the announcer announcing while you enter “I see that you’re enthised by my daughters awesome rocking ti**. Then bath with my daughter in the fountain of vagnarf, appease the gods by lethering her boo** with soapy soups.”. Basically an manual on how to beat Liadri, right?! But still you fail, but won’t give up that easily after the first try already.

02:09 – 03:01: You go back in again, like a boss, seeing other players fighting Liadri and eventually beating her, you can’t take that just like that, and go inthere right after they’ve failed to show them how it’s done! Liadri seems impressed by your actions.

03:02 – 04:40: You tried and failed again, annoyed as you’re you’re ranting about Liadri and how you just can’t beat her in the guild channel! Then an “Pro-Gamer” from right of the start from GW2 launching shows up and want’s to show off in how you can easiyl beat Liadrï! But he fails as well, showing how it doesn’t matter if new or old GW2 Player, at Liadri it’s in the end all just about skill!

04:41 – 05:26: So an firece battle rises between the two Members and how epic and strong they’re in the arena to win Liadri before the other! The announcer announces proudfully “Now fight for the Loknar trophy!” They show all their skills and power they got inside the game and how super uber they’re!

05:27 – 05:50: How they look to other players standing outside the arena watching them fight Liadri.

06:20 – 06:46: Finally beating Liadri! Feeling just high and epic and stuff, even though you failed like a thousand times if not more! But wayne, you’re the best! xD

P.S.: Yes, this is a joke, and yes, this is just to show off how much i love atah! xD

I like the colors and the equipment matches well each other, but I personally don’t really like the helmet, it makes you look like some weird robot pirate or something xD But overall nice engi ^^

Seems like I’m completly left alone with this kind of idea, to bad ^^ I really thought this would be an great feature ^^

Now, to come to my own little humble conclusion to this whole topic is, you only have these 4 choices to let us the long term or since “day 1” players feel heroic, like real heroes and special and super and just kitten as it should be in my opinion over newcomers which don’t know really anything about the game or its’ mechanics or anything like it are the following:

1.) Internal Lvl. Up System: Depending on how long a player is playing the game and how activitly in hours, players will receive some special town or battle armor to show off, which others won’t have. Like every month a player is online in ingame hours they’ll receive a new set of special town or armor skin. You could even make an NPC which enabels an Player to buy more and cool stuff from the NPC depending on which Internal Lvl. he has, which would also cost him silver, gold or ektos depending on the level.

2.) Guild Lvl. Up System: It’s just like your Guild Mission system, but depending on how long the Guild exists and how much influence it receives / has, the Guild will Lvl. Up and some even more epic skins will be unlocked in WvWvW and PvP for that Guild to use, to show off the strength and activity of that guild! Just use an NPC Ingame which shows some super cool Guild Armor Skins, which the Guildleader can buy for some influence, each lvl requires higher influence, and the Members can buy it for some silver, gold or ektos, depending how high the unlocked or bought Guild Lvl. is from that NPC.

3.) Invent more PvE Leader titles or an PvE Commander Book, people or players or users or however you would like to call them, people who open up parties for any dungeon or fractals, which will lead through the whole dungeon successfully will receive PvE Leader Achievement points (Only Party Leaders), earning the Title “Commander of the Alliances”, someone who includes “all the races” in running a Dungeon and “unites” all the races of GW2, or are enabled to buy something like the commander book for WvWvW just for PvE so people know they can orientate on those leaders for running dungeons, and they know what they’re doing!

4.) Or, you also just could add some more special Armor or Town Cloth Skins to the game for those who are “Commander of the Alliances”, so everyone would like to have those, kind of “forcing” them to open up parties as leaders to run all the various dungeons ingame.

I’m sure there are more and much better ideas then those that I just had, so just feel free to post them here, maybe the Devs. will listen to them or even respond to them here

well I don’t know if this Topic will make much sense in the first place, since it has an kind of weird and complex theme, but i’ll try to explain what i’m thinking as good as possible ^^

So, in my opinion, GW2 “main” focus is PvE, regarding of all the effort that has been put in into PvE, for ex.: Dungeons, Huge World, Bosses, Living Story etc., but it is of course also split into PvP, which also has yet to become a big part of GW2 which it will hopefully be soon, as well as WvWvW, which is kind of an mix between PvE and PvP.

Well anyway, as far as I’m concerned, GW2 is an fantasy MMORPG World, which should let you, the player, feel as an Hero in an dynamic World in the first place, exploring all the areas, playing through your personal story and defeating Zaithan, and every other elder Dragon to come. Yet, since let us be honest, Zaithan was kind of an huge disappointment, we still hope that with the upcoming expansions to come, the other encounters will be hopefully much more of an harder and fun task to deal with, but still, those encounters will probably end up being personal story related or another Dungeon you will be grouping up together with some random people to achieve the defeating of the next elder Dragon, which may be hard, but sure not impossible to do with an random group of people, since that is what GW2 is kinda all about.

Guild Wars 2 was always designed to be an horizontal progressioned game, so there nearly is no gear or lvl grind in the long term, just some little steps further and further torwards higher lvled gear and higher lvl’s which still should be gained easily without any form of hard grind or being forced to be online all the time, so even “casual” players could keep up with the game without being left behind or feeling underpowered because of all the new gear or lvl’s, so “stuff” won’t give you an ultimate or higher advantage over others, so that they will become unbeatable, which is something I really love and apperciate about the game.

Instead, ArenaNet decided to make an differnce in apperance, so you, the player, should be able to tell by difference of appearing of every each others Player online or simply around you, to tell you: “Oh WOW, look at this guys or girls armor or weapon, this looks ridiculous cool and awesome, he or she must be an extreme good player who’s knowing what he or she is doing!!!”.

Which is absolutly not the case, since again, ArenaNets philosophy is, everyone should have the right and power to earn and achieve the same set of armor as everyone else does, making some dungeons like CoF really easy and farmable for everyone and others like Arah, which just take a little more of time and coordination, to be beatable for everyone. So it’s just a matter of time for everyone to achieve their wished set of armor, no matter how good their equip is or how skilled they are.

So, how should we, the players, feel heroic or even kind of “superior” to other players, which joined way later than we did to the game? Since they can achieve what we did achieve in no time or nearly the same time since we joined and played the game, since much things have been fixed and made “easier” for everyone.

Since, as I said, I’m a huge fan of the horizontal gear progression, and don’t want to be the super uber owner of doom over everyone and feel “superior” over others because I just got gear which is way higher in stats then everyone others is, because I got the time or money to spend on the game, but because of the amount of “skill” I have thanks to the time I spent playing and learing the games mechanics. I would wish myself something for the long time / term players that is kind of hard to achieve, something that can’t be get easily and takes time and effort, a guild or a group of friends and good coordination to achieve, something a new players can’t get “instantly” without putting real time or effort into the game, which really tells a difference between players, but by style not more powerful gear. I know you planned Legendarys to be this kind of thing, but you completly and utterly ruined Legendarys for everyone since the Day you made them buyable from the Tradingpost, one of the biggest mistakes you ever made in my opinion, it just ruined the long term goal of being special, spending a long time and effort into the game by some players, being able for other players to buy it off of some china farmers for RL Money….

Used only rares and never exotics, I’m at my 6th Pre-Cursor right now.

2x Dawn, 2x Dusk, 1x The Legend and 1x Spark.

So I wouldn’t say the chances are that low with only using rares, I’d rather sell the exotics for much money so I can buy more rares instead of selling cheap a** rares where you make like no profit at all and buy “expensive” exotics.

i’ve just tried to log-in today into my Account via the Launcher where I received the message that my Account is suspended for about 63hours because I used inappropriate language?

Well, I’d very much like to know what language that was, since I can’t remember having said or done anything bad to any person, that I would deserve such an suspension. Since I haven’t received an e-mail or any other kind of thing notifying me about this and what I’ve done or who has reported me for what / what I should’ve said that was that bad so I could get banned, I’d really like to know what it was.

So please ArenaNet, please review my Account and tell me what I’ve done or said that I deserve this suspension, and if you manage to find out that it wasn’t anything or anything really that bad and someone reported me just because out of an bad joke, please un-block my account so I can play again.

If I really said something bad to any person, which I highly doubt, my sincere apologies to that guy or gal and I sure didn’t mean it.

Wow, what an egocentric unsocial perspective. I’m glad the limits are there to protect the majority of players, even if it hurts an absolute minority. So I’d rather say: sh** happens and bad luck for you.

Why is that egocentric and unsocial? It’s not my fault at all if some people can’t control themselves or for whatever reason haven’t learned how to handle money properly, and I can’t do anything to change that for those people. Also I never asked to remove the limits for all and every account, it sure isn’t bad that it is there, but it’s very annoying for some of us, even if we’re just the minority, and it would be very nice if there was an way to remove this limitation.

Also as I said, you first would need to accept the agreement / policy from Arenanet and fullfil what is required to enable this option for your account. So people who know they can’t handle their payments, they don’t even have to bother with this in the first place and just ignore this feature, so their limit will stay in place and they don’t even have to worry at all.

I’m well aware of the risk of enabling such an option like “limitless purchases with a CC” for an Account, since as you said it could be hacked anytime and the hacker could use advantage of the saved CC informations if they’re saved. I personally don’t use my CC Ingame and I don’t store my CC Informations Ingame either, I use paypal and an different password for my paypal account than for my Ingame account.

But this would also fall into their policy of being in own charge in changing your password regularly and protecting your account as good as possible, that’s why for so long time players who got hacked didn’t got their items back until the roleback tool came out, since it’s their own fault in the first place that the account got hacked. So I think they sure would also add something about this in their policy and you would need to agree to this first before you’re able to enable such an option like “Limitless purchases with a CC”. And I personally have never been hacked, so I’m sure willing to take that risk and accept that policy change if there ever will be such an thing.

And if you ever feel you don’t need this anymore, I’m sure you can always mail customer support again to block transactions with your CC for that account or add the limitation back in.

Maybe also add an option, like every 100, 200 or 300$ you’ve spend on the game you’ll receive an e-mail or ingame mail which is telling you that you’ve recently spend a lot of money in a short time ingame, maybe including an total amount of $ spend ingame of that month, so one can have an little overview over his payments.

I mean Arenanet sure isn’t stupid I’m sure they’d think of stuff like that before adding such an “huge” feature, providing best security and overviewability (Does that word even exist?).

In europe it’s 300 Euros per month. Don’t know how much it is in $ and no clue about gem cards as well. But the main problem with this isn’t the 300euros, it’s more than enough, the problem is, once this limit got triggered, it won’t go away, even if you wait until next month, you make 2 or 3 purchases and it’s right in your face again.

after 5 great Months of playing Guild Wars 2 and enjoying every of the bigger Events of it, like the Halloween or Wintersday Event, I sadly have to make / write a complaint about an issue I’ve got with this game since the Halloween Event. First I didn’t want to write one and thought, oh well, lets just wait and see if they can fix this issue or add some sort of an enable or disable feature for it, but it just didn’t happen.

So, what my complaint is about, is the huge annoyance of buying Gems from your Gemshop / the Trading Post. I’ve never encountered this in any other Game before, I’m a grown man, got a good job and I think I can fairly say I know how much money I can spend on one thing or as many things I want in a Week, Month or even a Year.

So I’m really getting kind of p*** off when I have to write every week like 3 to 5 e-mails to the customer support that they should please increase the limit of my account (again!) so I can spend more money, money which is paying your salary and bills in the end, on gems! I just don’t get it, I wrote about a thousand times they can set my account to limitless, I give them my permission, anything they want to identify me and know that this is actually my account, but they just won’t.

Now I really hope you guys will do something about this issue, since I’m sure not the only one who is getting annoyed by this. So please add some sort of an authentication system to your gemshop or customer support, where people can write to and proof that they’re over 18, that it’s their account and credit card they’re using and that they’re giving you permission to remove the limit lock from their accounts.

after watching the stream a few minutes ago some Questions got to my mind I’d like to ask you and I’d be very happy if you could answer them.

1.) As you said in the stream, we’re paying the bills, so why are you guys restricting so many of us in buying gems as much as we want in a month? It’s really annoying to always contact customer support to raise the account limit to buy more gems, especially when events like the “Wintersday” are going on in the world.

2.) Would it be possible or is it already planned maybe, to get some sort of an character icon, like for the world completion, for characters who crafted their legendary? So the people can tell who crafted it theirselves and who just bought it from the TP.

3.) Would it be possible to make that Legendary owners (only maybe?) can get their Legendary Skin in PvP?

4.) Could you maybe add an /friend channel? So if I talk in that channel I talk to all my friends at the same time, this would be very useful when I’m looking for a dungen group.

5.) When will the achievement for Twilight and Sunrise be fixed to show in the Character Screen? And when will the Preview feature for those 2 be fixed?

6.) And my last Question, would it be possible to add like as in groups, a symbol on the Minimap to see if Guildmembers are currently on the same Map as you?

Spend around 200g on the mystic forge, I got dawn and dusk among a bunch of other worthless crap out of it, while many of my guildies did the same, even used the same greatsword combination as me, got nothing.

It’s really all just about luck.

There’s probably no way you’ll ever obtain a pre-cursor from Orr Champions or Chests, you just have to fully depend on your RNG luck at the mystic forge so that it throws out an pre-cursor for you.

I myelf had to spend around 150g of rares until I got the pre-cursor for Sunrise, made 400g with it and was able to buy all the Icy Runestones and lodestones I needed for the legendary I want.

Now all I have to do is, do this again and hope that Dusk will get out of the Mystic Forge and I get my beloved Twilight.

Step 1) Make Karka Acce. & Karka Bag & Karka Chest undestroyable.
Step 2) Make NPC in Lions Arch which will warp you to an personal instance map.
Step 3) Check if Account has Karka Acce. or Karka Bag or Karka Chest and at least 1 Level 80 Character.
Step 4) If Yes (Has Bag or Acce. or Chest or doesn’t have an Level 80 Char.) → Deny Access, else send to Instance.
Step 5) Spawn Event Chest in that Instance so you can loot it.
Step 6) ???
Step 7) Profit

There may or may not could appear more steps during this process, like still everyone is mad, or everyone finds a way to abuse this, or the unlikely one, everyone will be happy.

Well, my party got split up as well, but I decided to kick his pumpkin a** all by myself then, and guess what, I killed him ^^

He isn’t that much of an challenge and his attacks are easy to avoid, only the beginning with the mobs is a bit difficult.

And well the reward for beating him is rather low, but at least there is a chest waiting for you when you beat him, guess if you’re lucky enough you can get some exos or halloween rares out of it.

They really need to handle and fix this issue asap, I for myself am getting really tired of those events being bugged out for days, even after a server restart or reset, you can bet that it will not take more then 2 days and we’re where we started off 2 days ago…

I don’t have much playtime since like many others, I have a job during day times and other responsibilities after or before work which need to be done before loging in and play the game, and when I’m then able to log in I’d really like to play the game, but instead I meet a bugged out game in which I can’t do what I’d like / love todo, so I can’t make any further progression on my character in the ways it matters for me and so I really get annoyed pretty fast of this, especially since those bugs / issues exist now for over a month in the 70+ areas, and so it won’t take long until I logout again being pi**** off of the game for the rest of the day and not loging back in again.

For ex.: I’d love to get myself the full Arah Dun. Set but I obviously can’t do so since the gates are permanently closed because the events are bugged for days and days and no one is resetting them but instead waiting for the weekly maintenance to reset them to be then, as I mentioned in the beginning of my post, bugged out after 2 days again.

this idea came to me a few days ago and I wasn’t so sure first if I should post this, but since the idea hasn’t lost its spice for me since then, I think it’s probably really a good one so I’d like to suggest it to you.

A couple of days ago I was googling for the legendary greatsword called “Twilight” which has this, in my opinion, super cool appearance of an clear night sky full of stars.

So, since I’m also in general an huge fan of the whole concept of gathering unidentified colors and to open them to see what I’ll get to maybe adjust the look of my characters armor, I thought then, it would be super cool if it was possible to craft your own new colors with an craftsman job called “Artist”, collecting different kind of material as with every other job, combine them together to create some new colors or discover some new recipes to make rare or unique colors as well as when you’d hit the Lvl. 400 artist you could create like exotic colors which would just be like the twilight greatsword, not just giving your armor that one color, but it would change the armor piece to look just like the greatsword twilight does if you got the correct color made from the needed incredients.

For example: Lets say if I’d combine some yellow, orange and red colored looking item from some different mobs including an 4th incredient like an magma stone or something like that, you would then get the exotic color called “Blazing Flames”, which when applied to the armor piece , that piece would get an blazing flames appearance of course.

This was not the best example, but I think you’ll get what I mean, I hope…

I think this would add an new great variety to the game and a new chance to personalize his own character in a more unique way again.

Dragontimer – I’d love / like to see some sort of an Dragontimer being displayed on one of the cornes of the Minimap if you’re getting on one of the few Maps where one of the Dragons is spawning so you will know the time when the next spawn is, since currently the chat gets flooded with people asking for the time when the dragon will respawn again…

Bayt Fallahin Skillpoint challenge also bugged on Elonas Reach Server since days….
