Managed to do this path today with the group I regularly do dungeons with, we just powered straight through fighting every wave. Couple of members had to swap characters to get past the 2nd platform.
We had 3 guardians, a warrior and a support specced elementalist. I can’t really see powering through this path without a well optimized team.
Our development team reviews play input on a regular basis. They are aware of this suggestion, but have not yet reached a decision on what changes, if any, they will make to targeting.
There is a lot going on right now with the upcoming event, but after that, the team will take a look at a lot of different game elements, and may make some changes in the future.
Sorry I don’t have more specific information, but you can be sure this is not being ignored or rejected without due consideration.

You would consider making no changes to how it works currently? You guys play this game right? I lose target all the time due to this, an option to disable right click targeting would go a long ways to fixing it.
I play with a regular group of 3 to 5 people that runs AC a lot. We stopped doing path 1 because hodgin bugged out about 4 times in 3 days wasting a lot of our time. We don’t skip anything and didn’t start doing something different than usual but all of a sudden he started bugging out like crazy recently for us.
I got one a little while ago. When this game first came out I got 1 single dye in 25 lvls of play on my warrior so its probably just back to normal….
This just happened to my team as well. He actually bugged out twice in about two hours, the first time he bugged out before you gather the scepter pieces. We disbanded and leader entered another dungeon and came back to reset it. The second time he bugged out on the final boss, it would not complete. After two hours of playing and no rewards this person is not a happy camper.
Click and hold on a target for a second and it will target them when you release.
Not sure about sword and board but a hammer set up with altruisctic healing, larger, longer and healing symbols is pretty tanky.
A proper team set up doesn’t need to kite at all tbh, even if you’re playing a thief. For example well necro provides tons of AoE blinds and other AoE debuffs, dagger dagger elementalist specced for support provides healing and condition removal. You’re thief provides AoE dmg and aoe weakness plus combo blast potential. You’re whole team can fight trash in melee range to take advantage of aoe support and aoe debuffs and never even see health bars drop. There are many team combinations that can work like this, it isn’t until you have 5 dps zerging around that you have to kite for survival.
Just as the title says, I use the right mouse button to control the camera in battle. Right click targeting causes me to lose my main target soooo much during battle its extremely annoying.
My suggestion is, add a check box in options to disable right click targeting.
The best strategy for the mounds is to bring a staff elementalist to obliterate them, maybe a grenade engineer too… ? AoE power builds.
With 2 staff elementalists one covering each side the other 3 party members can do w/e they want and still finish quite easy.
Usually playing my thief. When I’m fighting with the zerg with my shortbow its usually the longbow rangers in full zerkers that bother me the most. Even if they aren’t in full zerkers they’re my least favorite to deal with while fighting in the zerg.
In smaller fights I’d say guardians are my least favorite to deal with.
While we’re on the subject what about the weakness proc in tier 3 curses? Does that last long enough to weigh in the favor of precision? Chance is pretty low, think I’ll check it out in the mists…

Was going to make a post about how bad this trait is but decided to do a search instead and found this topic. This minor trait is surely in the running for worst in the game. That little guy it summons doesn’t even live long enough to be a distraction let alone do some damage. It’d be ok if it were a major trait (not really) since then we wouldn’t have to take it. As it is if we want the staff traits we’re loaded with this worthless little guy.

Current Yaks Bend match up is the best to date and I can’t even stand to play because of all the invisible enemies! Argh!
ArenaNet, next time a patch completely fubars the game can you please please please roll it back immediately until the problem is resolved?!
On a more serious note, siege shouldn’t be AI controlled imo.
It was the answer to everyone complaining about thieves and Mesmer portals not rendering. Make it so nothing renders!
WvW is basically unplayable right now, they should roll back the patch immediately until the problem is fixed.
Couple I just took, can someone please explain to me why last nights patch hasn’t been rolled back yet? WvW isn’t playable at all right now.

This has been by far the best wvw match up I’ve been in so far. Hope it stays that way until the end of the week.
If you drop into the spvp forums you’ll find its not used by thieves there much, most consider thieves guild much better, I’m not sure its such a bad thing that thieves actually have a skill with some wvw utility.
I don’t think feedback works against daggerstorm.
There are a million reasons cloak and dagger will miss which completely nullifies this so called “exploit”, unless he was using it on the catapult to insure it didn’t miss you should try dodging it or blinding him while he’s out of stealth.
Not feeling the Thief in PvP: Far too focused on cookiecutter builds.

I kill people all the time with a pistol/dagger/shortbow venom build(wvw mostly but it works in spvp too). 30 deadly arts, 20 shadow arts, 20 acrobatics. My gear is a mix of knights and carrion. Shortbow is awesome for skirmishing and team battles. Pistol/dagger is good for taking people out 1v1 or if lucky sometimes 2v1.
Just owned an alpha siege golem and some of his buddies making a surprise attack on cliffside with a cannon, before any reinforcements from my side even showed up, was fun.

I feel like wvw needs its own currency that is used for nothing but upgrades and siege weapons. It would be reset at the beginning of each new match up so it couldn’t be hoarded and how rich you were from pve would have no effect on wvw. At the same time make it so badges of honor and silver could no longer be used for buying siege or upgrades.
3g an hour? Takes me all day to earn half that much and I’m not standing around picking my nose either. Get plenty of karma though.
I suppose the Altar being permanently broken afterwards is also “intended”….
What storm might that be?
Today on Yaks bend in our border lands our altar broke without an enemy in sight, or an ally for that matter. It then reset and the Yaks were beset two vs one for about an hour until we had nothing left.
Does this happen much? I recall there being random lightning strikes in the altar room. I feel like Yaks are slightly outclassed in our current wvw match up so that orb bonus that we worked so hard to obtain was sort of important.
This happened a couple of times yesterday in eternal battlegrounds on my server as well (Yaks Bend). The castle changed hands several times and all 3 servers ended up in the Lords Room at the same time at least two or three times, lag wiped us all out each time, the lucky side would keep the castle.
I’ve always hated the short respawn timer in MMOs, its pretty common though. I hate clearing an area to fight a veteran or something only to get adds midway through your fight from respawns. Doubt anybody will do anything about it, if it was to low there wouldn’t ever be anything to fight with all the players runnin around.

More burst skills would be great too.
Buff longbow auto attack. Add a ranged mainhand weapon like javelin or something, to pair with warhorn or shield.
If only she could use whips for a weapon. :P
I thought this combination of leather straps looked pretty hot. The chest is the krytans skin you buy with gems. The gloves are rawhide which is the basic medium armor you can get from any vendor. The legs are from joining the vigil order. The boots are the lvl 70 to 80 exotic armor “duelist”.
Including the costs of repairs and the occasional blueprints I’m making about 2 gold per night running around in WvW and about 40k karma. Thats for around 7 hours of play. Definitely not losing money and once I get full exotics I might even be willing to spend a bit more.
Cluster Bomb hittign for 7-8k AOE for 2 Energy, give me a break?

In WvW with my team having all 3 orbs it crits for around 3k on someone with low toughness and 1.8k on someone with high toughness. Armor is exotic but weapons and jewelry is rare.
Also, it costs 3 initiative, rather than 2.
I too didn’t like the lack of non trench coats available for the thief, especially through the mid levels. I enjoyed the thief so much though I stuck with it. Would like to get the tier 3 cultural armor but its to expensive for me atm. For now I found this combo of leather straps I like.
I’m fine with the auto leaping, I think it makes the weapon unique. I’m just not ok with the lack of control that comes about as a consequence. They need to be coded differently than other leaps so that dodge works correctly with the weapon.
I feel like the ranger sword would be a great weapon but for me there is a big problem with it. The auto attack cancels the dodge animation, fast. There’s basically no point in even having pushed the dodge button, there are evades built into the weapon but whats the point when you can’t use dodge as well.
Anyone else have this problem or feel like its a big problem with the weapon like I do?
I think they should have a longbow option, it’d be cool for my Valkyrie themed character.
Shortbow is great in fights with 3 or more targets. It has probably the best combo blast finisher in the game with cluster bomb since its spammable. On its own it poisons, spreads weakness (combo blast finisher from poison field) and does great aoe damage. With the 15 point talent lotus poison you can perma weaken anything in the game. To top it off it has a spammable evade that snares and one of the best mobility abilities in the game with infiltrators arrow.
There’s really nothing to not like about thief shortbow, if it had better range it’d be one of the best weapons in the game.
