Died on my first attempt because of the phase transition, so there’s still RNG involved like there always has been unless you go some kittened build with energy sigils and traits.
Nice one, I remember trying this way back and I always had trouble getting the last one. At most I managed to get a few meters away from completing it even using Illusionary Leap to blink through one of the trees.
What do you mean it’s risky to go stealth on lupi? lol
Sometimes he’ll turn around and start returning to his start position when you stealth, if you get incredibly unlucky he’ll just reset when you go into stealth. Incredibly rare for either occurrence though, I think it’s mainly when you are stealthing too far away from his ‘spawn’, after he’s done some shadow walking.
Yeah, I know it happens sometimes, but it just very rarely happens to me. That’s what I meant.
While he is bugged, he does reset really fast, not abonormal thing that he walks towards his normal position while you uuse cloak and dagger for damage and press 1 fast.
-But I would like to know if anyone in game can solo him in here with thief? would aprecieate it alot! Message me in game if anyone can, I will do the whole path, just teach me how to solo with new traits (I normaly did solo him on a somewhat daily basis, so not new, just unexperienced with the new traits).
He never resets for me when I CnD unless I’m doing some weird stuff and moving him. I can post a video in a couple of hours when I have time to show you how to solo him with DA, CS and Trickery
What do you mean it’s risky to go stealth on lupi? lol
I decided to try it a couple of times, and I definitely find it better with Trickery than Acrobatics. For P2 I’ve found that if you dodge every attack you need some RNG, but nothing special compared to before; it is still a huge rngfest with the AoEs when he does Frenzied Blast and like before if you don’t want to spam your dodges to survive you’ll get killed by them sometimes which is why I could see Trickery/Acro/Crit being the goto build for casual solos since you can just safely avoid the AoEs by spamming dodges. I also found it much easier to do P2 by not dodging his swipe and saving dodges for the autoattack. And lastly, if you’re out of dodges you can always stay in stealth for a second or two and wait a bit for cooldowns/endurance.
Nice job, that was a much better run than ours.
So I tried it again. Withdraw is really easy to pull off.
Is dodge jump still a viable way ? I tried it several time and failed miserably. Should I dodge jump when she points the gun immediately. Heartseeker is also hard for me
.

it is possible, yes. But I manage to do it most reliably when quite a range away from her, I don’t recall if I managed to do it while close to her. It just seems to catch up to the dodge jump if you’re too close.
Yeah, roll always feels a bit more sluggish to me, but again it’s just a list I wrote quickly so the placement of some of them can be discussed.
so in other words, I should do the action while the bullet is travelling, right? Ok thx for the info. gonna try again later
You need to time the skill relative to how far you are away from her, it’s all a matter of learning the timing. Here’s a rough list of skills you can use to avoid it on thief descending in how reliable and easy they are to use:
“Drink” from steal (Invuln)
Smokescreen
Dagger Storm
Withdraw
Heartseeker
Shadowstep
Infiltrator’s Arrow
Infiltrator’s Return, strike and signet
Shadow Shot
Steal
Roll for initiative
Flanking Strike
Shadow Strike
Shadow Trap
doing lupi all day everyday can make any1 good at lupi. Bugged skill dont matter. hell i know some1 who solos with a xbox360 controller
I know someone who soloed lupi with an xbox360 controller before it was cool!
Omg, Goku. You’re soooooo coooool, teach me to be as cool as you pleeeeease.
Step 1) don’t play 11 hours of GW2 a day ))
I only play 10 hours a day :/
yo
Omg, Goku. You’re soooooo coooool, teach me to be as cool as you pleeeeease.
PoVs will be uploaded tomorrow.
I would upload all pov’s. It would make for a fair submission that everyone can judge. If your worried your time was bad then don’t post until you’re confident? Anyhow good run, SC keeping ahead as usual :P
Idk, the time wasn’t that great, I only uploaded it because I didn’t want people to think a couple of days later we only did it to beat the other record.
(edited by dboylolz.3916)
We have no problem in uploading the Mesmer and Thief PoV if necessary, but I told Jerem not to since we’re trying to do a better time anyways.
^- no, it’s really not as simple as that. Even top players have problems with Lupi now. If you want to argue otherwise, let me know when you can stream, kill lupi in solo/duo a few times in a row without wiping or wiping rarely.
If your reply is anything but a date, time and twitch link I don’t care, words are meaningless, everyone can talk kitten. Put your money where your mouth is. Surely you’re not one of the “bad” players, are you?
EDIT: With meaningful kill times, of course.
I can’t believe you actually challenged Tom to solo lupicus.
lol, I was wondering when this might come up. Funny how we did this once with you and then everybody started realizing it was the better way to do it.
Yea I’d been doing it for ages whenever I duo’d with Miku on stream, to be honest I never even knew how much time it saved, it was just more fun x)
Playing the game of who fails to zigzag the corpses first.
Nice run! Question: I thought 2 staff eles + PS warrior was better DPS then 1staff, 1 LH and ‘normal’ warrior. Is that not the case? Or does it depends on the length of the fights?
It’s a debated thing, I personally think LH+1staff is both more fun to play and higher dps. But you might notice that I’m always swapping in and out of strength runes while prestacking, I do this because otherwise we’ll drop to 18-21 might at a point early in the fight. For this reason there are many places where you would either just go 2 staff 1 phalanx for an easy uptime on 25 might or you just go strength runes for the fight itself.
Luckily though this dilemma won’t be a problem anymore after the patch as arenanet think it’s a good idea to completely butcher scepter based builds and buff the hell out of phalanx+staff.
I wonder you gave you inspiration for that way to run the promenade to Lupi, ey Abe?

We’re going to keep working on a sub 6:40 so this one shouldn’t be the last post.
Imagine I was new to the game and just started doing Arah. When I’m doing Lupicus for the first time I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be thinking that his autoattack is bugged, because if it does not hit, it serves absolutely no purpose other than giving you free time to do whatever the kitten you want. If the change was reverted on the other hand, I’m pretty sure I would’ve wondered what the actual point of the attack even was, as it does not hit in melee range and does kitten all.
I just like that your hypothetical new player experience involves meleeing Lupicus your first time fighting him.
Fair point.
If you would adapt to the new attack instead of QQing, that’d be great.
Why would I adapt to a bug. Stop being hypocrite soldier of anet. I complain because it’s a bug. No one announced nor said it’s the way the boss should be so stop being a "pro" whiteknight who thinks he’s strong and can take any challange and let people adapt to bugged content. I won’t learn a bugged content because it ain’t worth anything, it won’t add IQ to the brain nor it’ll give me a plus to the salary. It’ll only waste my time. I demand a fix. You on the other hand prefer to play a bugged game just to make it more challenging but it’s not challenging, permanent reflect/bug everyone can do but it’s waste of dps because of a bug not because of the true boss mechanics but a bug that slows the dps. People just prefer to exploit it even more with the wall exploit. I do zis boss with my guild legit with no wipes but it looks crap and waste of dps because we need to sacrifice other skills just to reflect/block it.
Honestly, I don’t even see the change as a bug.
If/when higher level fractals ever get opened up ghost pepper poppers and skale venom will be much more in demand. As would Necromancer if Wither Precision ever got un-nerfed.
So where is the difference?
As a low HP class in a lvl 50 Fractal you kinda get one hitted by everything already. Even with weakness the dmg numbers are high.
In higher Fractals, stuff might kill you even with weakness on them, so where is the point of it?And yeah, it often feels like NA is way behind the EU meta. Skale Venom was nice back then, when you could use it beside a dungeon potion or sharpening stone/oil. Now you only use it, if there is nothing else to use.
Well take the archdiviner for instance, while most of the things he does can be dealt with he hits for 9~18k to a light armor character in zerker gear at 50. With weakness that range goes down to 4.5~9k when it procs. Further still the damage can be cut with protection, not needed currently but, that can drop the damage down to 3~6k damage which is far from a one shot and would actually be a 2~4 shot for a warrior in zerker gear. So while it’s not meta right now it was back when fotm levels were much higher ie fotm 80 for instance where % based damage reduction become enormous. And while I can’t speak for Eu vs Na it seems high an mighty to try and say one is lesser than the other, they’re different not one over the other.
You’re not supposed to be facetanking any of his hits. The point of the current meta is to avoid absolutely all damage, which is relatively easy to achieve. This will for the most part stay the same if higher levels of fractals are opened. Assuming the pattern of the current instabilities and scaling stays the same, of course.
but tbh if a new guild set a good record should they get equal votes because they are new and got one record now i think it would be needed to discuss about such things.
WTB punctuation.
On an actual on topic note I believe giving votes to guilds that are relevant in the speedclearing community is the best solution. If a guild feels left out they can just contact Wethospu and discuss their right for a vote. This way there won’t be any trolls or people that are completely outdated on the game. After all, the rules we have now are basically just to satisfy the current chunk of players that bother to do records and I think it should stay that way.

OMFG - I Love You
So someone brought this up to me and I wanted to get it checked by other approvers because it seems questionable to me and I’d like second/third opinions on it.
Context: Fennec’s PoV
Reference: https://youtu.be/BIaf5nA7lHw?t=2m4s
Issue: Fennec summons Rocky for Balthazar, but before the skill expires (and thus putting it on 120s cooldown) he swaps it out for FGS which he then immediately uses. The issue here is that this is a form of cooldown manipulation, and while not explicitly banned by the wording of Rule 11 which focuses on traits (quoted below), it seems like it might raise a few eyebrows so I want to clear it with the team.It has been this way ever since you could activate the skills for the elemental summons, and ANet has made no claims about it one way or the other. It isn’t explicitly trait manipulating, and it also doesn’t seen like malicious intent (I don’t personally believe Fennec was trying to game cooldowns). I’m personally on the fence (hence my post), but I’d probably err on the side of saying this is OK. Well, other approvers? What do you think?
11.) Party members may not abuse trait swapping to refresh ability cooldowns. e.g. Mesmer Blink, Guardian Wall of Reflection in order to facilitate a second use of the skill prior to its natural cool down.
It definitely is similar to cooldown resetting, but if you reject the record because of that you would also have to remove some other records from the restricted category. In my opinion swapping ele out for fgs could instead be a topic for the next speedclear meeting.
Man Abe, you said already that you didnt like your Seaweed Salad, but why didnt you like your focus as well.
Maybe do this earlier next time. :p
Tell me about it lol, I had great plans for Bloomhunger, like using Chains of Light when Miku was casting Meteor Shower and Ice Storm and actually swapping to focus after 4 Zealot’s Flames, but oh well. My brain was kind of shut down by this time and rolling for swamp for 10 minutes didn’t make it any better.
I would suggest making Jerem an approver as he frequents the dungeon forum quite a lot. Right now Deathly is the only one approving records and he can’t exactly do that to his own.

I’ll take one for the team, what food were you trying to send? ...you scrub.
necro this back to life because everyone should know about this dissapointing announcement. 8 months ago or not
I wasn’t aware of this announcement and being a dedicated fractal / dungeon player this is sad news to read & hear.
I hope they will eventually dedicate some time to this because i fail to believe anet would dissapoint such a big userbase of their game.

That’s over a year and a half ago, I’m sure it’s in their plan to pretty much boycott dungeons.

Salut,
Ele (Goku): https://youtu.be/gBq1He0HCOA
Ele (Abe): https://youtu.be/alsoVi5zWqc
Do what goku does in his full path solos, it’s really fast and reliable.
* Kill the two heads next to the gate
* Kill all the small spiders
* Aggro the next batch of mobs
* When you have aggro leave a frozen ground in the gate opening and use glyph of storms in water
* Go around the corner of the gate and use lava font and meteor shower, heal, auto etc
* Small spiders should be dead and then you can just go back to the open field and range her
One of his videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOcxCrxSZwE
I don’t get the choice of your utilities and why you didn’t use Zealot’s Defense. It’ll block one of his autos and allow you to save a dodge or block.
Well to be honest it’s been so long that it’s been bugged that I had to ask about whether or not there was a time when the problem didn’t occur because my memory from pre-fractured isn’t that vivid.
Sandy told me that it definitely was not always this way, and you can go on really old imbued shaman vids to confirm that as well.
I don’t think they will ever fix it.
Just summon Rising Dusk and have him forward it to Anet, surely it will get fixed, no?
Can you do this on an engineer so I can learn from you?
Just watch Tom’s vid. It’s not gonna be much different on engi other than way slower
Honestly, his condi solo wasn’t even that slow, probably faster than guardian and not that much slower than warrior.
Not all that hard maha. Although you don’t really see me swap traits on ele all that much, I don’t need too… I’m sure you could scan my channel for other videos that I swap weapons and stack might a lot more.
Skill clicking isn’t that detrimental as long as you do it fast, but you have to admit it has its disadvantages compared to using keybinds for everything.
Gotta love having +70 ar on every class. :>
Gotta love having 60 AR from trinkets alone
This isn’t a competition… Oh wait.
In the Cliffside fractal, if an engi swaps kits while holding the hammer it will disappear forever and never respawn, forcing you to restart the whole fractal.
In Arah path 2, sometimes Belka’s cut scene never triggers and the instance has to be reset because she stays green. This seems to happen more when some people are still running past the trash mobs when someone activates her. Maybe it has to do with whom the NPC is following?
Not dungeon halting but annoying, also in Arah path 2, there are many spots that running into during the Alphard fight will cause her to reset to full hp. One in particular is the bone wall. The main preventative measure here is to make sure everyone is in the arena before aggroing her.
Speaking of that bone wall in Arah path 2, if the party wipes fighting Alphard the bone wall will often remain. This can be fixed by having the whole party die at the same time.
If someone runs in and activates Belka without the npc she will indeed bug.
CM P2: Running into Taylor’s room too early will bug the path and prevent being able to continue. Happened a lot during our record attempts, is very easy to reproduce simply by running into the room quickly. (Not sure what causes it, probably some dialogue the npc has to start.)
99% chance of winning and 99%chance of losing are 2sides of the same coin. There are paths that I know I will have 99%chance of winning against any team which means if RNG strikes and I get them, the other team has 99% chance of losing.
That makes no sense, if the other team practiced a lot for the same path why don’t they have 99% chance of winning? You can’t put a probability on these things.
99% is a hyberpole, insert “more likely to win/lose” to every “99%chance of winning/losing” in this thread.
And tricks.
Ah, shame on me then.

I guess all of these would be worth documenting.
Maybe you could add a tab to each dungeon with "known bugs"?
