Good fights last night – I was too drunk to remember which BL. But good fights nonetheless!

I’m back from a weekend journey in the mountains where I did a lot of reflection and soul searching. Looks like we got an interesting roll – looking forward to fighting TC tonight.

As much as I DETEST to admit it, Rekz is good at fighting. Really good, perhaps the only decent thing out of Ehmy Bay. But their obnoxious arrogance and their terrible attitude to their little wins here and there tears down anything their skill earns them.

Ehmry – Your not the only server that does PvE – DragonBRAND woke up, kicked our kitten. I wouldn’t expect anything else from a rank 5 server. Take your own advice and take this time to hone in your skills – you know like you told Borlis to do for 12+ weeks. I literally think that match broke half this server mentally.

I’m pretty sure nobody is challenging the obvious coverage mismatch this week.

I would be interested in what this match up would look like without DB. Maybe have Yak’s/CD/Mag in their place.

Kronyx was being pretty nice, not sure why people are trying to talk back. Both sides wiped a fair number of times during that fight and it was good games all around.

Oh dear god… After being in so many different match ups I don’t know how much more I can take. I’m just going to summarize every single match up ever:

1. Opposing server only zergs
2. Opposing server hacks and exploits, every single individual
3. Opposing server are bad sports
4. Opposing server only night caps
5. Opposing server is bad
6. Opposing server thanks rival server for loot bags
7. Opposing server has no skilled players
8. Opposing server needs to get on rival servers level
9. Opposing server has more numbers
10. Opposing server has big egos

Literally, if you took each servers match up threads and changed the names of the individuals they would be 100% match.

It was nice seeing the new FA, well, new since we were there anyways. Saw some familiar faces and a few new ones, all around awesome week and great fights! <3

I felt quite bad for DR and HoD.. Failing that double team on our SM and keep must have been pretty kitten embarrassing.

I feel quite bad for BP in that, for the most part, they are absolutely horrible in the open field. You guys still lose 5-7v20+ in the open field because you let yourself get kited and your overextenders get killed until you no longer have enough people to win by numbers alone and that is when you get turned on and killed by groups a third your size.

The Glicko-2 math isn’t that hard, it’s just tedious. But I see a lot of people still don’t understand how it works. So, here’s the story with EB and AR’s ratings:

At the beginning of the match, EB had a rating of 1550.0354 and a deviation of 182.2718, and AR had a rating of 1287.0150 and a deviation of 178.1011. When you convert these numbers to the Glicko-2 rating scale you get:
EB mu=0.2880 phi=1.0492
AR mu=-1.2260 phi=1.0252
(mu = (rating – 1500) / 173.7178, phi = (deviation) / 173.7178)

The next step is to calculate the value of the Glicko-2 g function for EB and AR:
EB g=0.8656
AR g=0.8706
(g = 1 / sqrt( 1 + 3 * phi^2 / (pi^2) ) )

Then, you calculate the value of the Glicko-2 E function for EB versus AR, and AR versus EB (unlike g which depends on one server only, E must be calculated for each pair of servers, and in both directions — A versus B, and B versus A):
EBvsAR E=0.7889
ARvsEB E=0.2124
(E = 1 / ( 1 + exp( g2 * (mu1 – mu2 ) ) ), where mu1=server rating, mu2=opponent rating, g2=opponent g value)

The final step is to figure out how big your own score has to be in order to beat the Glicko-2 expected score E (this part is based on the particular way ArenaNet has implemented Glicko-2, but is not actually part of Glicko-2 itself):
EB: m=2.2901
AR: m=0.4387
(m = ( 0.5 + arcsin( 2 * E – 1 ) / pi ) / ( 0.5 – arcsin( 2 * E – 1 ) / pi ) )

So, in order for EB to not lose any rating against AR, EB’s score needs to be 2.2901 times as big as AR’s score. And in order for AR to not lose any rating against EB, AR’s score needs to be 0.4387 times as big as BP’s score. Note that these values depend solely on the previous week’s ratings and deviations. The previous week’s scores are not involved.

Right now EB has 238,160 points compared to AR’s 134,980.
EB 238160 / 134980 = 1.7644
AR 134980 / 238160 = 0.5668

Since 1.7644 is lower than 2.2901, EB is losing rating points. and since 0.5668 is higher than 0.4387, AR is gaining rating points. That’s all there is to it.

It has nothing to do with last week’s scores. If this week’s match were to end with the exact same score as last week’s (EB=336728, AR=119306), the ratings wouldn’t stay the same, EB would gain points again and AR would lose points again:
EB 336728/119306 = 2.8224, which is higher than 2.2901
AR 119306/336728 = 0.3543, which is lower than 0.4387

See? The math isn’t hard, it’s just tiresome.

That’s because using laurels for rings is an “optional” means of getting them (Fractals being the primary source), yet laurels (from dailies) are intended to be the primary source for amulet purchases. Accessories are intended to optimally be obtained through guild commendations, which is why they’re relatively cheap that way yet expensive if you use laurels/ectos.

That totally makes sense.

I just remember logging in and was like, why why why did I spend all my pristine gearing other characters!

I figured it would be 20 for rings and 25 for amulets but that logic makes sense I suppose.

Hey champ, I’m from EBay. They can add new members fron the server they moved too and all. I won’t give you to hard of a time but there is a guild on my signature thats NOT REKZ. This guy is poorly representing our server and im not a fan. How would you feel.if someone on your server was kissing our kitten

My bad if what you are saying about your time on EBay is correct /shrug. That said this forum has plenty of BP posters who I strongly disagree with. However, they paid for the game = they paid for the right to post on these forums regardless of what I might think.

For example: Kalkz and I disagree on pretty much everything including what color the sky is. IIRC we both have each other on /ignore in game. But I make no attempt to censor/control what he posts, because at the end of the day it is his copy of the game and his forum account and he can play and post as he sees fit.

My advice, if you truly have issues with what some of your fellow EBay members are posting, send em a tell or a PM

No big deal, I understand the mix up. At least I see we agree about one thing on who should be ignored for their lack of ability.

I’ll say up front that this is a troll so just ignore me but… put your money where your mouth is. Rekz should transfer to another server, T5 or lower, and show us how you’ll just raise the average play so much that your mouth was worth putting where your money went.
