To be honest though, its not surprising it happened. It was obvious we were only baby sitting Ascension Bay and not doing anything else, but that Waypoint meant we could bring our Zergs in to fight. AR descided to go for it anyhow, even though Ebay was clearly on the map in strength. I watched AR fail repeatedly at getting their Hills keep back. If I was the Ebay commander and suddenly saw the force I had been killing handily dissapear and go try and open up another Keep, I would have followed along behind too, let them do the work, and then kill them again, this time inside a keep they were trying to take. Which is pretty much what would have happened, even had we not reinforced Ascension bay.

And then, having failed to retake Ascension Bay (it went to Ebay in the end) and their hills (still held by Ebay) AR goes to Borlis Borderlands and takes down our Garrison and Bay. Funny thing is though, in an hour or two we’ll have them back and AR will still not have their Hills or Bay back.

First off good job on holding Bay for so long.. Great work keeping it for as long as you did.

Second learn to give your enemy props when they do well.

Third. We outsmarted you and played to your weakness to over commit and SEKz lust for orange swords.

We had those golems ready . We’ve had them for hours. I myself had to refresh them 5 times. We have up hills so we could go on the offense and use the zerg we had. This kept SEKz on the map and looking for a fight. So we gave them one.

We planed to rush bay and get into inner. We expected that you guys would call out for help, your defenders had the outmanned buff, we figured we could get past outer pretty easy and possibly inner, which we did. We expected lots and lots siege , which you had. When your forces showed up we pulled out to the hill.

We were planning to hold out on the hill and get a small havac squad to rush your Gari with golems. When we saw SEKz , we pulled away long enough to let them portal in folks. SEKz took a little longer than we wanted but in the end it worked out to our advantage. You guys portal bombed us on the hill and we fell back to lure you into SEKz. As expected SEKz rushed you guys, when we saw this we ALL went to your BL to meet our golem train.

We didn’t expect SEKZ to take Bay but figured they would see your massive zerg and stay and party. Which they did, and we figured you guys would tunnel vision and stay, which you did.

I dont’ know what all happened in our Bay between BP and EB but it lasted long enough for us to Golem rush Garri and Bay on BP and we were at hills gate when we heard SEKz was taking our Bay. We figured BP zerg would come in to save Hills but we were already commited and went ‘all in’. south door down , inner door down. No Zerg. We pushed into Lords, BP showed up and managed to rez the Lord. We won out in the end and maaged to take hills.

So in all, we flipped, Garri , Bay and Hills on BPBL and you lost our Bay to EB all within 30 mins. It was a great way to finish the night off and end a long day of WvW.

Thanks EB for keeping us busy all day. Awesome showing by BP all day holding in Bay. A special thanks to SEKz for doing that thing you do so well.

Also I wanted to let everyone know I’m working on a presentation, well, a tutorial of sorts for counting group sizes. I’ve noticed throughout this match up we have had by far, some of the worst simple number counting I’ve ever seen. There will be pictures, charts, step-by-step counting procedures, and even an email you can send questions to if you have a screenshot and are not having any luck counting the tags!

I also think Zara should post more on BP’s behalf, some other people just make them look silly.

[GF] is hands down the best guild for their size I’ve seen in any of the tiers I’ve been in. There are many skilled guilds, small and large, but [GF] has the most talent on an individual level as well as team co-ordination.

I haven’t gotten a real feel for GF yet. Sometimes they run in smaller groups and are dangerous. Other times I see some packed into zergs and hard to get a feel for their overall ability. I don’t think I have ever caught a GF solo. I will see if I can peel a few off from the pack this weekend and test the waters.

One of the better small groups (10 or less) I have run into was on DR. Cannot remember the name of the group but they have hammer/mesmer warfare down.

Sekz takes objectives all the time. Admittedly, we do it to draw out zergs, but we’re always happy to help to our awesome realmmates and smash some keeps. Ebay commanders, unlike NSP’s, know how to utilize our strengths, rather than waste our killing ability by having us siege all day.

Also, no member of Sekz runs a solo/roaming build. We wouldn’t be able to do what we like to do (zerg bust) if we ran selfish dueling builds. Every member is a force multiplier for the next.

How many members do you guys have? I feel like you have a really descent number of players.

Reset night usually has the biggest turn out 20-25 which usually correlates with BP and AR getting sometimes up to 60-70+ on reset. During the week we average about 8-13 depending on the night.

Seriously tho, Before getting into this match up, I was looking forward to fight BP again and the new Ebay.

I thought Ebay had a lot of roamers, including GF, Sekz, PK and more.

But sadly it was all lie!!!

Sekz are a zerg. Each time I had the pleasure to fight them, it was like 20 vs 3. So I never got to fight them in small skirmish. I fought an Elementalist in BP low land once from Sekz, but I was running my confusion build so he died, as confusion is OP in WvW.

I thought Sekz had some roaming team? Where are they?

PK is another zerg. I have yet to fight them in a small group. Just yesterday, they actually stopped, stacked then charged 20 of there player just to kill me and a warrior. I doubt you needed to stack for that, or maybe we were just at the bad place at the wrong time.

And finally GF, the only guild that looks like a roaming team. But they are more of a Zerg buster team. They are too many for our small group, yet they aren’t a zerg ether. We had some fun fight with them, but I have to bring more people to be on equal footing. We actually helped WAR fight you guys yesterday and it was awesome.

This week is so zergy since the patch. Good thing st least we can see them without culling.

Solo players and 2-3 man groups are for t8 – I heard you can transfer for free.

Why?

Are you affraid to fight without all your boon stack and combo field?

Are you affraid that you won’t be instant rezzed if you get downed?

Stay and hide behind your group, so you’ll never have to ask yourself : Am I really doing good?

I don’t mind zerg and all. But I usually have some enemy roaming guild to fight with, which I didn’t find yet except maybe GF.

Here is the problem, you aren’t going to demoralize AR, it just doesn’t happen. This server has been beaten on so many times, we are beginning to enjoy it. But keep up the tactic of run and hide from BP, they are scary, I know!

Since culling got removed, we can finally see real numbers. And the number that Ebay can put is incredible.

Not the same numbers, no. I won’t delude myself and say it’s a fair fight in the numbers game. But these borderlands get queued and when we have hit queue, we are all on equal footing. This has happened several times this week, and that’s what I’m trying to get at really.

Yeah Ehmry’s overall coverage is at least more stable/better.

Could have been tag clutter, but I’m pretty sure BP had at least a 70+ man zerg running around last night in their BL,. AR must have been about 50+, hard to tell though when their all stacked hiding in their breakout tower. We had a hard time deciding who to attack when AR/BP were both poking each other… We were scared to throw 15-17 people into that ball.

I think the best part of this thread is the 6-8 man zerg. Crazy times in tier 8 amiright? It would be interesting to see if any big guilds transfer down while free transfers are available. Not sure what these guys are going to do.

So any plans to move on to higher tiers and greater competition? Sekz fought AR for what seemed like months (2). I can’t imagine you are looking forward to another 2 month slogfest with AR. Cuz lets be honest, Errbay isn’t going up anytime soon.

I don’t see us moving anytime soon. Higher tiers give a lot of our members computer issues, and I don’t think any of us want to move back to Isle of FA yet. The problem with T4/T5 is it’s always going to be back and forth. Hopefully SBI and CD beat each other down enough in the next few weeks that we can get a glimpse of T4. I want Ehmry to get CRUSHED so that we can have some more excitement.

AR definitely killed our evolution though, going to take a little bit of work to dig out of this one.

It may take longer than you hope. With the current setup, Ebay is going to lose points for at least 3 weeks. The Glicko rating between all 3 servers is going to have to get within 50-70 points before you start gaining points. Add to that how you aren’t winning by huge amounts you’ll likely only gain 20-30 points a week. On top of that if SoS makes it to T4 next week and it becomes a competitive match , both SBI and CD will gain rating points. All this combined is going to make Ebays stay in T5 near permanent.

In short. Don’t start packing just yet, you’ll be here a while.

The following is just my opinion of the WvW match for these three servers.

Ehmry has the skill, and organization of a T2/3 server. But the “active” population of a T4/5 server.

Devona’s has the skill, and organization of a T4 server. But the “active” population of a T6 server.

Borlis Pass has the skill, and organization of a T6 server. But the “active” population of a T3/4 server.

Having spent a considerable amount of time in T3/T4 I can say this. Ebay does not have the server organization of a T3 server. It may feel like it down here but aside from some specific guilds they like to skirmish way too much. They don’t seem to organize their guild zergs but rather go with the flow.

DR are straight up zerkers (not zergers). I liken them to a rabies infected dog. They attack in every direction almost randomly. They seem to have no server wide goals and I am pretty sure most of them could care less about the score. Jumping on a pack of them seems to either be “these guys suck” or “what just crushed us” and it is almost impossible to know until its too late one way or another.

BP… whew. The commanders try but the server is just full of people who are distracted too easily and virtually nobody runs group oriented builds. Even on reset night portal bombs are rare and during siege actions most don’t show up with any supply. Population wise, they are well below EBay at least during NA Prime. Midnight EST on the last reset we were running out manned on every map but our BL. There is virtually zero cross guild coordination.

I think BP was trying to practice portals last night in their BL, it was kinda funny.

Also, kudos to [WAR], they are just about the only guild in BP that will consistently man up and not just keyboard turn and run to the nearest burger eating tower. Keep it up guys, loving the fights!

Maybe I’m used to be an engineer, but seeing the video and the guardian just running around, waiting to be in range, and use mostly the same skills all fight long.

Doesn’t seem really dynamic no? Especially since there no weapon swap.

But I see them in every roaming group now, so it must be worth it.

Weapon swapping or not weapon swapping has nothing to do with hammer and has everything to do with the player. He does use staff later in the movie IIRC.

I would defend hammer more, but maybe it’s a good thing if people think it’s boring to play because they aren’t getting the most out of it.

Tag with staff, smash with hammer… that is how I like it. This is why I love AD and company so much, he said synergy and blast finisher… Anyone running into these BA’s are in trouble. :p

Fun messing around in BP last night, we decided to run some smaller numbers then we are used to, it was nice to have BP/DR smash us a few times so we would wake the kitten up.

You could join/make a guild dedicated to beating the poop out of zergs 2-3x your numbers. I know with a group of 8-15 willing to organize and coordinate via some sort of VOIP (mumble, vent, TS3 ect) you can pretty much outplay most zergs of random pugs. I know in tier 5-6, these type of groups can demoralize the fairweathers back to PVEing making PVdoor a breeze.

You make a lot of good points, I’ll make sure to pass this along to my guild!

ALS can field a decent sized zerg during prime time. I’m looking forward to TwoG’s new and improved tactics.

I enjoy fighting AR because they will throw bodies at an objective until they literally have no bodies left. BP is usually wham bam port different BL ma’am.

If we are going to be stuck in this tier for another match or two, wouldn’t mind having AR join us. They field better zergs then BP does, and they don’t give up as easily. I was really really disappointed when BP ran from hills when we jumped down, just keyboard turned… and ran….

EDIT: I don’t want to do as much PvD as we did last night… So boring… So… boring.

Sorry man on BP the only AD I noticed were the ones we ran over while fighting Sekz and Pk. We would have braked for your Zamboni, but then we would have been hit by Sekz mac truck – plus the ice is further north not outside of hills.

Zamboni reference was to our activity in Eternal Battlegrounds, where we had quite a time fighting BP and Emmy Bays. Charrkat Larks drove Zamboni.

In BL, different story. Some people went to beds, Charrkat went to dream of pancakes and cat treats* and I took the keys. I’m bad at all the video games and did poor strategeries with new group composition, but they are lessons learned. Team members not to blame for my limp ears of leading fight-mans.

I give gold sticker-star to Sekz for push and killmurder of our faces. I feel they had a bigger part in our going to Valhalla (where we had juice boxes and fruit snacks), but that is my perspective and that doesn’t mean BP didn’t contribute in some way. They were on both sides.

AD/QQ/BSTY are one of the few groups you need to take seriously when you see them, solid players and good coordination.

I remember when we encountered AD when we originally transferred to NSP while we were still running small man, not somebody you mess around with.

When we hit you guys that second time near the shore in BL last night, there was clear coordination and much pleasure from being burned and smashed. Not greatest idea to hit such numbers with 9 mans, but badder idea to hit such clearly coordinated mans straight on who can party with flinging dismembered limbs and strawburry sause.

I hope my ears look good on a necklace of macaroni and fruit loops. Feel free to glue and glitter on them, because that is pretty.

Yeah, we definitely had the numbers on you in that fight, BP had more then both of us combined, but even with waypoint they couldn’t really do much. You should know that you guys are the only ones that get our full attention, the rest of the guild starts getting super nerdy when we see you guys.

How bad can you really be with a roster that looks mostly like 90% mesmers & Eles?

We recently haven’t even been running with 1 Mesmer (reset night we had ZERO mesmers.)

As for typically group setup (usually consisting of 8-12 players), we try to run 2 mesmers and 1-2 Ele’s, 2 thieves, 2 guardians as our core ‘beef’, then round it out with Warriors/Rangers/Necro/Engi.

Plenty of video’s out there of us.

I think hes mad they didn’t have their garrison half the night to eat burgers in. Nice hold Pk/ECHO in BP last night. There was too much blue in EB, so we had to go tidy up a bit.

So…. is AR taking a break this week?

I can’t speak for the whole server, obviously, but a large portion of ALS is taking it easy this week.

It’s given me a chance to be a fashionista and level up an alt a bit, so I won’t complain.

I can’t bring myself to believe ALS is the reason AR is taking a hit, no way their carrying anyone.

You should believe it. I’m in no way disrespecting the other guilds and folks that come out to score points for AR, but ALS is a major portion of AR’s WvW force. I’ve heard a few of our good commanders outside of ALS talking about stepping down or moving servers. So with ALS taking a break and some of our other commanders as well, I wonder if this weeks performance might be indicative of AR in the future weeks. I hope not.

On the upside, the outmanned buff has scored me some good loot though.

If that is the case, this tier is more fragile then I thought…

On a side note, everyone should just leave PAXA alone, they do what they do well. Quit beings mads and bads.
