DB spent 6 weeks sub T4 when the matches were all still a big mess. What was the the 5th or 6th week of match-ups?

I’ll rephrase my statement to , recent history. Anyone who is judging current servers by the first two months of rankings should reconsider.

Uh… how is that even relevant that a guardian did better than my warrior? it’s two entirely different play styles/classes/specs what he was doing and what i was doing. i need to practice against mesmers more i guess. Or need to actually spec for 1v1s. I’m sure I could probably run a shout build and do much better. But I just 1v1 as I wvw. i dont remember fighting you more than once on your guardian, meh.

I will admit though that you beat me. That being said, I’m pretty sure I beat every other player I fought against tonight, except for another DR mesmer (I forget his name). I guess I just don’t know how to beat a mesmer in my build. You can have your trophy!

We usually start playing about now and go for a few hours. Are you Eruo timezone? Might be hard to meet up if you are. I’m not sure if you are serious in your boasts or not but usually its pretty easy to set up 1v1’s. I’m not sure you would be able to maintain your 150+/5 ratio though (and let’s not forget you were drunk handicapped so who knows how many 1000’s of players you would beat sober…….sigh)

No, I’m on the east coast. Most of our guys are too. I go to bed around now these days, however. Also, I didn’t claim to win 150 1v1s. We were fighting Ebay’s zergs, and were generally very successful. Also, I wouldn’t take any of that too seriously since I was all but black out drunk when I posted that. I was also very drunk while I was playing, so who knows what the real numbers were.

I would welcome 1v1s with your guys, however.

Also, did DR notice that? We just had a large zerg run right past a large DR zerg in Eternal. There was so much culling that we didn’t even know you were there until you were past us… and I have a feeling it was the same for you guys as well lol.

Eleven total plus one guardian that only counts as one tenth of a player = 11.1
Two mesmers, two elems, and 6 clones = 10

10/11.1 is approx 90%

With that out of the way, it is a bummer to hear that what made Maguuma so special is all but gone. While we lost both weeks to then it was a loss to a “worthy adversery” (though I don’t know if they wore black pajamas or not) who were incredibly organized.

It really isn’t. The problem is that we have a population disparity issue that makes our communication useless, basically. So, here we are at a Tier 3.5 population. When we’re in tier 4, it doesn’t even matter how we play. Right now we amuse ourselves by setting up badge-farms at paper towers. In T3, though, we’ve been on the other side, so it still doesn’t matter how we play. We don’t have the 60 man zerg necessary to compete with FA or TC, or however…. Now that a weakened SoS is in T3…. Well, we may not even make it back up there, since they’re setting up equilibrium with Yaks. A trick of timing that makes me very sad.

We recently haven’t even been running with 1 Mesmer (reset night we had ZERO mesmers.)

As for typically group setup (usually consisting of 8-12 players), we try to run 2 mesmers and 1-2 Ele’s, 2 thieves, 2 guardians as our core ‘beef’, then round it out with Warriors/Rangers/Necro/Engi.

Plenty of video’s out there of us.

But nice troll post anyways.

I think hes mad they didn’t have their garrison half the night to eat burgers in. Nice hold Pk/ECHO in BP last night. There was too much blue in EB, so we had to go tidy up a bit.

Essentially here’s how things have been going: Ebay and DR completely dominate during the day because BP actually has opponents (Equal numbers for BP is too much for them to handle).

Then, BP caps EVERYTHING while Ebay and DR are sleeping (other than Ebay BL, you guys have kept quite a handle on that place).

The sun is rising atm and I see BP rapidly slipping off of the map, but when I logged in they had nearly everything. So tell me again how BP wins over DR because of tactics and not coverage?

You should be destroying this tier but instead are being destroyed. When you (Borlis) decides to attack, you use the most plain methods possible. Be it either golem rushing or attacking when there is no opponent. You don’t use trick play, coordination of several attacks on different objectives, or even ninja attempts. Just like last reset on Ehmry borderlands, all you did was bounce between the different keeps hoping something would work. I consider that terrible gameplay.

We on Ehmry respect those who are good. Whether it is ADQQSTY who will beat the kitten out of you or Maguuma of old whose coordination of their whole server was downright scary. Borlis Pass just does not have much going for it.

Likely very true. To be honest though I don’t think it is a priority for BP to “be good” or to try and compete with you “elites”. We don’t have any “gank” groups and as far as I know most on the server treat WvW as a fun pastime.

My guild, WFD, has a very good leader. We go out probably 5 times a week. Members always ask…what class should I bring ? The answer is always bring what you have fun playing. Level ? Doesn’t matter. Class ? Doesn’t matter. Spec ? Doesn’t matter.

So keep patting yourself on the back for how much you have “accomplished” in a game. Make sure to leave the basement once in a while to tell grandma how much you rock peoples world in GW2. I’m sure she is very impressed how you beat up all the “bads”

it was fun and i closed a gap on those points even though its just around 10k but its better than nothing

Some what holding un-upgraded breakout towers and a supply camp or two does not constitute a very good “hold” in my book…..

The following is just my opinion of the WvW match for these three servers.

Ehmry has the skill, and organization of a T2/3 server. But the “active” population of a T4/5 server.

Devona’s has the skill, and organization of a T4 server. But the “active” population of a T6 server.

Borlis Pass has the skill, and organization of a T6 server. But the “active” population of a T3/4 server.

I am an officer in Ascension [WAR]. We currently are playing on Borlis Pass. For the first three months after launch, we as a guild, played on SoR as our home server. We left that server after staring at 6 hour queues while being in T2.

I rarely post because these forums are always full of negative comments from many many individuals.

I am not the best or the worst player out there. But I can say the majority of Ehmry bay players are better than me on either of my two 80’s.

As for Borlis Pass, we are a true pick up group server. We have some organization but not all the time, because organization is the enemy of chaos. I enjoy WvW much more when it embraces the chaos that makes it so much fun for me. As a server we are starting to focus on the fun, which is always a good thing.

AD/QQ/BSTY are one of the few groups you need to take seriously when you see them, solid players and good coordination.

I remember when we encountered AD when we originally transferred to NSP while we were still running small man, not somebody you mess around with.

You forgot to mention that 8 people knocked down the water gate with two rams, ran away for 15 minutes to flip supply camps, and it was still never repaired.

I feel BP would be doing a whole lot better if they had people willing to scout or keep an eye on uncontested towers while everyone else is focused somewhere else. I don’t see you guys ever walking dolyaks either.

Our pugs don’t do that sort of thing either… so we always have to leave those duties to our guilds (even then it’s 90% of the time Kaaos or Goldiy – two of our most adamant homeland commanders). It’s not a fun task, but it’s really necessary if you guys want to avoid keeps suddenly turning green while your back is turned. I don’t even want to join in on the numbers game debate going on right now, but there’s always room for guilds to improve – on both of our servers. You guys have more than enough players to defend properly in your home borderland if nothing else. Even when outmanned in others, that’s one thing you shouldn’t be losing ground on. Don’t take this as an insult but rather constructive criticism from an outside party.

Step up your defense BP, and you shouldn’t have a problem farming EBay badges.

I have to say, those that spend their days calculating and speculating about BP’s moving up and how we compare to the servers in the upper ranks are wasting their time. Those that pat themselves on the back analyzing our style and finding it seven shades of lacking are wasting their time as well. The truth is, Borlis doesn’t care about moving up. And I can tell you that if you’re inclined to do the same to Anvil when they get here you can spare your keyboards, because they won’t care either. T6 spawned some of the most even and enjoyable matches in the entire game and taught us all that it’s not the tier you’re in, it’s the server you fight. Population is everything. the most skillful server will still tank if they don’t have the numbers. (I’m looking at you, NSP.) And a server with superior numbers will often think they are winning because of superior tactics. (cough, yeah, that was us five months ago.)

I think many folks are still in the mode of looking for the next Kaineng, but those days are over. Borlis isn’t interested in rocketing up the tiers, so we don’t care what T4 is like. We moved up because IoJ tanked, not because we were trying. Anvil is going to move up because their tier ended up lopsided and is pushing them out of the nest, too. Devonas will drop and ROFLstomp T6 because they don’t belong there either. T6 will wobble the way T5 did for so long until another top tier server pancakes and Ebay moves up. That’s just the way things go now.

The rankings say we belong in T5, so here is where we are, here is where we’re gonna try and stay, and here is where we plan to have fun.

I can understand why Ebay is frustrated, they are a T4.5 server, and so are stuck in between tiers. If you miss the matchups in T4, then by all means, do whatcha gotta do to get back there. Or maybe just hang out and wait for SoS to drop some more and haul you back up.

As for us, we don’t care how we compare to Yaks or CD because we’re not facing them and prolly never will. We just want to have fun.

The following is just my opinion of the WvW match for these three servers.

Ehmry has the skill, and organization of a T2/3 server. But the “active” population of a T4/5 server.

Devona’s has the skill, and organization of a T4 server. But the “active” population of a T6 server.

Borlis Pass has the skill, and organization of a T6 server. But the “active” population of a T3/4 server.

I am an officer in Ascension [WAR]. We currently are playing on Borlis Pass. For the first three months after launch, we as a guild, played on SoR as our home server. We left that server after staring at 6 hour queues while being in T2.

I rarely post because these forums are always full of negative comments from many many individuals.

I am not the best or the worst player out there. But I can say the majority of Ehmry bay players are better than me on either of my two 80’s.

As for Borlis Pass, we are a true pick up group server. We have some organization but not all the time, because organization is the enemy of chaos. I enjoy WvW much more when it embraces the chaos that makes it so much fun for me. As a server we are starting to focus on the fun, which is always a good thing.

Ty, but DR isn’t really at T4 skill level server. We have some very strong roaming gank/zergbusting teams and a few organized med size guilds that can operate well if they try. But a lot of our guilds are the same small roaming squads that don’t prioritize builds or positioning much. So sometimes you see us play very well. Sometimes very poorly.
I have seen lots of great BP players on. SS has a nasty engy/guard combo that is a pain to deal with for a casual player. FLV or something has a very strong 5 man that we liked fighting when they played in DRBL. So I wouldn’t generalize too much. We have our share of good, bad and in between players. We are a tier 2 server as far as our egos are concerned:D. Drama and Rage

Sorry man on BP the only AD I noticed were the ones we ran over while fighting Sekz and Pk. We would have braked for your Zamboni, but then we would have been hit by Sekz mac truck – plus the ice is further north not outside of hills.

Fun fights in BP bl with Ebay there’s a really impressive engineer in Pk – Human think he was wearing crafted gear used every ability at some point – and in CoT – Charr used flamethrower, and gear shield from what I saw.

Also think I ran into Archer if it was your mesmer darn you can spam confusion. Couldn’t figure out how to take you out without killing myself – well solo.

I’m also convinced that every server has a [WAR] WvW guild except ours. We did have one, but they were annexed. Keeping up with all the different [WAR]s is starting to get difficult.
