Hello world, Im basically running a Glass Cannon kinda build and im stuck at 55% critical chance. I wanted to know some tips on how to increase this number without sacrificing too much the critical hit damage done.
I have Berserker gear, with 2 major divinity runes and 3 major runes of the eagle.
I have berserker accessories with exquisite ruby jewels.
And in my weapons i have superior sigils of accuracy.
I also have 30 points invested on radiance and using the +15% critical chance with 1 hand weapons pasive skill.
Any tips or suggestions on how to increase my critical hit chance without killing my critical hit damage?
Thanks.
To further show what i have posted before, here is another comparisson between the Noblemans armor sets. The ones the Merchants or NPCs wear look to be in mint condition, new and perfectly shinny while the ones the playes get are cracked, and rusty and with black patches all over. I believe that given the fact this armor (as some others) is an endgame armor that requires a lot of effort to get, it would be nice to see it fixed, and the textures improved so it looks mroe liek what the merchant or NPCs wear than what we are getting atm.
I spent 2 keys and got nothing after the update, i would like a refund
I know this is slightly related to Armor textures topic, but I dont know if this is an error or this is how it is actually supposed to look, that’s why im posting on a separate topic because i would like an official answer (Hopefully) .
So basically ive been working really hard for my Nobleman’s armor, and im nearly about to get all of it. Ever since i started buying the parts i realized the texture of the armor i was getting did not match the texture on the armor the vendor is wearing.
In fact I dare say that the one the vendor wears looks better. The one US players get is all worn out and with cracks, like battle worn, but it ends up being a bit over the top and annoying to the point that depending on what colour tint you use it can look really bad! .
Some of the main differences are:
a. The one we get has rusty patches all over, specially on the leg guards.
b. The one we get presents cracks on the shoulder pads
c. The one we get has bumps all over the 2 front plates of the helmet
d. The one we get has bad pixelated textures on the cloth that hangs from the front and the back.
I honestly believe the artistic choice of making the armor the players get be all rusty, worn and cracked wasn’t the best one, if this was done intentionally. I would like to know if this is how its supposed to look or not, and if so i would recommend changing it for the one the vendor has since I believe it looks better and is what we are given as reference. After all the work ive done for my armor i really want to have one in mint condition, looking bright as new!
I’ll attach a comparison picture.
Nobleman's Armor (Caudecus Mannor) texture is not as shown by vendor (bugged?)

The Noblemans male armor, its one of the most bugged armors ive seen, i keep finding clips and problems with the texture. Also i would like an explanation for why the one we buy looks old and worn, and kinda dirty and the one the Merchant wears looks Mint condition and really awesome.
Some more armor clipping for the human Caudecus Mannor heavy armor, appreciated if they would fix them cos the Dungeon armors take a while to get :P and lots of hard work and time.
For example the male version fo the Caudecus Mannor armor, for some body types the front part of the belt appears under the actualback part of the belt creating a weird ugly black shadow effect on the front.
On the back of the same armor, when the character is standing still you can see the texture from the leg guards cut through that “tail” kind of thing the armor has.
The shoulder pads of that same armor also have texture cutting issues that would be nice if fixed, this also happens on the back part.
Also with the Human Cultural Armor tier 3, when standing still, since the armor has some dimension flaws, the hands cut through the metal skirt the leg guards have.
Screen Shot:(check the front part of the belt to notice how the front “digs” intot he chest creating a weird bad looking black shadow)
The shoulder pads of that same armor also have texture cutting issues that would be nice if fixed
So basically Guild Wars is known for it’s detail and beauty, however we all know of at least one or 2 armors that have problems with their textures. I personally know quite a lot that do.
The same happened to me before for another armor that had like a small skirt and when standing still the leg textures would cut through the skirt making it look pretty bad.
Also you can see what i mean with the Human Cultural Armor tier 3, when standing still, since the armor has some dimension flaws, the hands cut through the metal skirt the leg guards have.
I mean yah these are details that dont affect how the game runs, however Guild Wars 2 puts a lot of emphasis on how the game looks too, and many of these armors arent even easy to get. So it would be nice if the Developers would start fixing these bugs so that all armors can look awesome and not have weird little annoying bugs that make them look less awesome than what they really are.
So i propose to make this post a place where people can post the texture bugs in the armors with a screen shot, and so maybe, developers could notice them and fix them, ill start: (check the front part of the belt to notice how the front “digs” intot he chest creating a weird bad looking black shadow)
Yes I agree with “The Dude” ever since the Caudecus Mannor armor set became a lvl 80 set ive been really interested in getting it. However in the last week, when i started trying to do the explorable paths runs i found myself wasting more time trying to find a group than actually playing. In fact many of us enjoy doing as ENDGAME Dungeon runs, and we dont have all day to play Guild Wars 2 but just a few moments around the day. Because of this, not having a LFG tab divided into Dungeons strory mode and explorable mode makes the process of finding a group too hard and long and you end up wasting all the time you had to play Guild Wars jsut running around looking for people instead of actually playing. Specially when you can only post a limited ammount of times in the chat windows.
Also i think a Cross-server LFG tab would eb awesome cos many times in one single server it might be hard to find people but im sure that accross all servers the ammount of people must be enormous, and since for dungeons it doesnt matter your server since youa ll get put together inside the dungeons, i think it would be a really positive thing for the game and for casual players
totally agree with u dude
i dont want to cos i prefer Guardians and as I prefer a guardian im posting a suggestion given the fact that many people Do share the opinion that the shield is really badly designed for the guardian
yah prices are crazy i go poor just travelling to dungeons to play with my guildies
yah shields are badly designed and do not serve the purpose of a shield
We aren’t saying shield are bad, in fact the skills the shield has are pretty cool. The main complain is that the shield is badly designed because the shield should have the skills the focus has, and the focus should have the skills the shield has. Shields are meant to block melee close quarter combat attacks, so it would be a good idea to at least switch the second shield skill for the second focus skill. The first shield skill is cool and aligned with the warrior first shield skill, but the second one is lame and pretty ridiculous for a shield, making a bubble that blocks projectiles? cmon’ it would be better and more appropiate for a shield to give you something like the focus second skill does “block the next 3 incoming attacks”
any other thoughts?
i wish this was something that got a fix , in GW 1 we didnt even have to pay tot ravle and the economy wasnt trash
yah we dont actually ask for a passive block ratio since we know the Guardian has quite an arsenal of damage mitigation skills, what we are asking actually is for a re-design of the shield, cos as it is at the moment the shield doesnt do what it should. Its a melee wepon for close quarters combat and the skills it has are useful for a caster. It would be better if the skill line the focus has was switched tot he shield (or at least the second focus skill) and the shield skills given to the focus (or at least the second shield skill).
Today i completed caudecus mannor explorable for the first time, i stayed until the end and killed Frost but only got 30 coins instead of 60 as the new update says i should, please help fix this
Shield should be used for blcking melee mainly while focus should be used for making bubbles and blocking incoming projectiles. A focus is something youw ould use with a scepter, from far away , so blocking projectiles would be useful, while a shield is a more melee approach and should block close quarter attacks
totally completely agree
Please GW2 team and Dev’s look into this and try to solve it, its a pressing issue for many ppl playing guardians
Sore,y if this has been asked before, but what exactly are the reasons that the waypoints cost anything in the first place? What is ArenaNet trying to accomplish by having this in the game?
Moneysink – the less money you have, the more tempting it is to buy gems with real money and convert to gold.
At least, this is what most free-to-play (barring initial costs) games work with, using microtransactions. I suppose we should be thankful it hasn’t gotten to the point where real money is the only way to play.
Well this would be effective if Gems were actually worth SOMETHIGN, nowadays Gems are pretty much worth less, if you want to buy the Tier 3 cultural armor by buying gems and trading to gold you need more than 300 dollars worth of Gems, thats ridiculous
Yah i think a good compromise would be to make travels among waypoint of the same map cost free, while making travel among waypoint across maps cost money, but not as much as they cost now. If not i thinkt hey should give mounts, or some speed boosts, or even place mroe asura gates around the world so we dont go poor travelling from one corner of the map to the other
What good is a shield that doesn`t block? what good is a shield that doesn`t increase your defense by a good amount? Why in the world would they put a proctection buff on a shield instead of an aoe block? Would kind of make sense to block 3 attacks with your shield over seconds instead of just reducing damage by 33% wouldn`t you think?
That would be along the lines of warriors being able to equip a gun but only use the knockback skill with it. What`s the point of a gun if you cannot shoot it? what`s the point of a shield if you cannot block with it?
Give the shield a significant def boost and trash the protection buff for the focus block skill with an aoe effect. Then it might start to seem more like what a shield should be doing.
You need to think metaphorically and less logically.
Guardian: Guards people
Shield: Protects things
Therefor, the Guardian using a shield protects his allies, by putting “Protection” on allies, and by using the 5 to protect them. The warrior’s shield blocks things, because they do not guard others. They fight for themselves, therefor they only block for themselves.
We are not saying a Guardian should’t protect people, we arent saying the skills the shield has are BAD per se. What we are saying is that the shield skills are not appropiate for a shield, whiel we have a focus that does what a shield has to do, it would be a better design decition to switch the skills of the focu for the skills of the shield.
If the DEVs team doesn’t want to do this then maybe it would be cool to re-design the skills for the shield and make them more block related and not jsut reflections and protection for ranged, cos honestly shield dont do that and its quite lame.
yah I know about that, it would be better if the GW2 team considered a re-design of the shield and switched its skills for the focus once, it would make way more sense. No one wants to have a shield that doesnt block melee attacks, its jsut ridiculous and actually kinda sad cos as a Guardian, who is more of like a paladin class, and without having dual weild, having a shield and a sword looks really cool.
yah once you get some cash, but many out there dont have cash and live with 50 silver. When u only have 50 silver and you struggle to get more money, cos you are not a hardocre gamer but more of a casual gamer, paying 3 silver for 1 travel is ridiculous
I believe that yous hould greatly reduce the cost of travelling using waypoints, specially since we dont have mounts or any kind of cheap way to move fast over large places. It is also ridiculous that when you die being in a PvE map you not only have to pay for repairs of your armor but also pay for the waypoint revival.
Its just a bit too unfair, specially for LV 80s travelling even between short distances can cost 1.5 silvers, its ridiculous.
This costs wouldnt be a an issue if getting money in the game was easier, or if monsters would drop bigger ammounts of money, or if events gave better rewards, or chests in dungeons would drop better items. But since getting money is literally a big pain in the behind, having to pay at least 1.5 silver for the shortest waypoint travel is ridiculous. Sometimes you have to pay around 3.5 silver or even 4 silver if you are going far away.

Im a player playing a guardian and i find, as many other guardians, that the shield is really badly designed as none of its skills actually BLOCK! shields are made and used for blocking and since Shields dont have a block rate per se many people that do like using a shield find it kinda pointless cos in GW2 it doesnt actually block, in fact it blocks even less than the other off-hands available. Please GW2 devs and team look into this and consider suggestions and a re-design. I leave a post in which its better explained by Dragonhero.1852:
I love the guardian for the most part but one thing bothers me alot about its design. You can only block with one weapon. You can’t even use a shield for that it’s vary purpose?
The Guardian is melee class without block skills. Sure we have Aegis but due to its difficulty to control and long recharge time we often cant use it when we actually need to. Yes some of the weapons have blind skills but those cant be used to trigger our blocking traits. Probably the biggest issue is that you CANT EVEN USE A SHIELD TO BLOCK!. A shield is a device created specifically for that vary purpose and the guardian cant use it for that? Sure we can block ranged attacks with it but thats a mute point when we are usually fighting in melee range. You can say your supposed to dodge all you want but thats not the point. Their are some times when its a much better option to block than dodge but when you cant do it that can become a real issue. You can argue about originality but the when a design choice gets in the way of functionality it becomes a big issue.
Their is even a way to fix this easily. The mace a weapon that is terrible at blocking in real life is the only weapon that you can block with as a guardian. I purpose swapping the Protectors strike and the shield of Judgment ability’s. Giving the block to the shield and the buff/attack to the mace this wont mix up the mace/shield style it will just swap the functionality of 3 and 4. While adding a block to the Sword/Shield and Scepter/Shield styles. Creating three styles capable of blocking.
I would further suggest not swapping the names or cool-downs just the skill functionality. As the names would better fit each others functionality and having the guardian being able to pull off a manual block with Aegis might be a little Op if the block doesn’t have good cool-down. Also I have read complaints about the Shield of Judgments protection buff having too short a duration for its cool-down.
Thank you very much!

just please read it, its probably the main complain right now coming from players playing a guardian, and its quite logical and reasonable. Thank you

i wish some developer could comment on this or at least say if they would look into it and come up with a solution cos i think a main complain coming from guardian players is that the shield is really poorly designed and doesnt serve its real purpose
so i personally like how one hand swords look, and i like going around with a sword and a shield. However i find it kinda unfair that the 1 hand sword skills take so much to recharge, which makes the sword kinda useless and i end up using most of the time my greatsword.
What im trying to say is that if we equip a shield, which doesnt increase your blocking chances per se, we should be able to activate the shield skills more frequently, if not having a shield just becomes a style choice and not a functional one. Even when that 20% chance reduction in the recharge time the skills take around 30 seconds each to recharge and last only a brief time.
On the other hand of the 3 offensive sword skills left one is auto attack which deals a fair ammount of damage but is kinda slow compared to the swing of the great sword. the second skill does little to no damage and blinds for a few lame seconds, and the last one which does actually deals a nice bunch of damage takes 15 seconds to recharge. This leaves the sword with only 1 important offensive skill every 15 seconds. Instead while using the greatsword the whole line of skills deals considerable AOE damage and recharge way faster and at a nicer pace which keeps the combat fluid without even needing to switch back to the sword and shield.
Sword and shield for the guardian ends up being a style choice with little functionality, when the shield skills arent effective blocking options and the sword lacks offense.
What im asking is that since the sword deals LESS damage than a great sword, it would be better if the skill recharge would be smaller in that way dealing less damage would be balanced by more damage per second. On the other hand i would like to see better blocking effects on the shield skills and/or, again, a slower recharge time.
What are your opinions? i just like sword and shield and im angry that no profession in GW2 seems to make a good decent use of them, which makes the use of this combination kinda pointless.
