Nope nope nope, never ever penalize a team for winning!

I know in NA the Abjured is the king of the hill for a very long time but for the competitors to win just because their nemesis is basicly banned is not a glory, I don’t think the QT or the dK wana win at this way.

In the EU this is not even a problem there is multiple team competing for the top every week, there are winning and losing streaks.

MMR and Dishonor

How MMR is being calculated when someone starting up a match in (un)ranked arena and leaving before it’s finished when his/her team will lose?

Are those peoples have a 100% win ratio with an MMR 10? or the losing even when not in the match at the final moment will still count for them?

Because if it doesn’t then it creates an avalanche for them, in a scenario when a terrible bad player only stays in matches where his/her team will carry out the win will be matched up against better and better players and over time the 5v4 performance will matter more and more.

I am well aware dishonorable system will bring changes into the current system and I am really really grateful for it, but this thing always bugged me.

I kinda loveing the idea, and from what I have read you mostly matched against players in your division, but if you matched against players better than you, you don’t even have to win to progress just make the match a “close call” like 500-400 (no point limits mentioned in the post) and you can prove that you’r ready to advance in your division.

It’s a new system things may change till release and even after, I hope eventually we can fall back in our division within seasons, at least you can’t progress to Legendary with just playing a huge amount of match without skills (like how you get r80 even if you never won a match).

Sometime they work sometime they stand 10m away from you and do nothing, I was kitten ing around with it nowtimes and they tend to engage in battle if you move around your enemy so they follow up on you and eventually start to attack, but if you fight against ranged target just hope they do smth.

Abjured vs oRNG on foefire at their first matchup. Don’t wana spoiler it in case you didn’t watched yet, but that was a mindblowing match.

Everyone going in downstate so it gives no unfair advantage to a specific class or player, but it is something abuseable in PvP.
How? GW2 Wiki:

Revived targets get back with 50% of their >>>maximum<<< health and become invulnerable for one second.

It worth to not to dodge / cleanse when you have too less hp and no healing cooldown left, you get 50% of your >>>maximum<<< health back in 2 second and all condi removed if you run and die next to your team mate.

If they lower your HP to maximum 5-10% after res, things may change.

(Rune of Mercy is just ridiculous if I get ressed with 30k HP it worth more than 4 of my strongest self heal skill with 25 sec cooldown)

Bots gona move to (un)ranked, even if they lose 80% of their matches because of the 5v4 scenario they still can do it cuz reporting some1 atm makes no real changes.

Every time when Courtyard gets rolled 8 out of 10 peep start to QQ how terrible is this map, some saying they AFK out, others simply log off, but their excuse always the same “it’s just mindless button smashing” I don’t know if they learned this from others or everyone is so simple minded but if it’s just button smashing how is that there is a winner and loser?

If you play it mindlessly you gona lose, this is simple. If you won you did something better than the loser, that’s what competitive games about DOT

It was quite exciting for sure, but the length was a problem for me, even tho I live in europe I couldn’t sit for 8 hour to watch it, and I think a lot of us was the same; They should have split it for 2 days, even for the players it’s a huge interval to stay in a good mental shape.

DCs was quite awkward because for example Abjured got reseted at around 50-25 at the finals but they had a huge map advantage in 5v4, it’s just pure luck it didn’t turned the whole WTS around; Imagine if they lose the match after a reset…

The personal introductions and the preshow was really good those players are more than just a nickname, hope they get more viewership in the twitch after this.

The big announcement about the new PvP leagues were well timed, because I know I love the GW2’s PvP but I cannot compete against pros like the players there, but with HoT now I can actually play against players like me.

Looking forward to next years WTS and congratulation to The Abjured!

Is GS Reaper a PvE elite?

The greatsword sucks, but the reaper shroud seems pretty good. It’ll be even better once they work out the kinks in Reaper’s Onslaught.

Yeah the Repaer’s Shroud has it’s power but have to give up a trait line for it which is 100% opted for GS skills :/

Aye, so basically what I have seen is that the GS not going to work in any PvP scenarios, the AA’s speed so slow that you can seriously walk out of it, without dodge roll; Not a single chance that I would replace any of my current weapon switch with it.

With GS you either have to give up the staff and your only last 1200 range attack since the DS is melee or the dagger/warhorn which gives a real fast dmg output with a lot of LF generation and self heal + CC.

Even if I sacrifice the staff cuz it’s have a small dmg output the CC and condi trasfer is something more important than what the GS gives atm.

Scepter + Dagger / GS is the only thing what gives enough range and possible damage output in my eyes but the pure condi necro in sPvP is just not a thing.

Anyway I would like to hear some opinions on it, cuz I was really in hype for GS necro but it’s a dissapointment in it’s current form for me.

I totaly disagree with the OP, I wana see more versatility in PvP the burst only game is just single minded, we have a complicated and interesting combat mechanism where one build works against a specific build(s) but weak against other builds.

I find it amuseing when the not too viable condi ranger actually melting away a zerker because they didn’t have a single condi cleanse trait / utility.

Bunker is a role and even tho it’s hard to take one down, they can’t take you down either so it’s a perfect pay off.

With some more balance fix Anet could make a really fun game. (But fix bug first pleaseeee)

I can agree that, there is nothing hard or unique in DS. But when necros playing 1v1 the winner always gona be who knows when and why to deploy their skills, not just random button smashing.

For very basic example in the start of each match i put down 4 marks get enough LF to deploy DS for an instant DS3 skill and leave it within a second so me and all of my minions get protection, small tricks can do big difference.

Some useing DS as a DPS form some useing it as a deffensive form, it is a really cool and smart skill, you can pull condis from your mates getting pressure out of them while getting LF for yourself.

What's your WTS prediction??

I don’t think team composition will be a winning factor, but rather player roles.
If you watch both EU and NA weeklys you can see that NA is kinda independent any of their member can go down without losing their overall strategy, while EU teams are a bit built around an idea, like TCG utilizes fast rotations with Helseth’s portals and if he gets taken out they slow down, oRNG trying to keep a node with Tage’s high sustainablity while fighting for the other node in 4v3 situations.

But in the meantime NA going with a strategy where they utilize Toker’s impressive map awareness, Nos’s sustainability, Chaith’s speed, Fanta’s & Wakkey’s heals / synergy in team fights.

At the end of the day, I will look forward for NA’s win but any of the team wins it will deserve the trophy cuz all of them are really top players / teams.

Right now ANet advertising $50.000 price for WTS, the ESL cup spends thousands weekly on rising attention toward GW2 as eSport.

But if some1 buying GW2 now and starts to play PvP will get wrecked for months because we don’t even have a fair queue system, we have half done traits and builds live in game because elite specializations are not yet been released but half of the traits already opted to work with them.

The necromancer AI bug is day 0 bug and we never even got a promise to fix it, it’s like here is class which supposed to be themed as a “summoner” but the minions are more like sculptures which sometime accidently start to move…

I played this game for 3 year now, and I wish I can go back the times when we had a trashy PvP Server Browser NPC only cuz the new “game modes” are unfinished and not even well designed from the base start.

We get stronghold in HoT! Yay? No, the community even the pro players avoiding it…

ANet acting like a rich kid with PvP, “Here is my money, now make it popular!”

Community feedback? Not gona happen, the PvP forum only here for our amusement, there are actual really nicely worked out and well planned system change suggestions in here, but all of them being ignored. Just like this post / thread.

At the end of the day, we all have a small rant thread but none of them will ever bring changes.

(I still play daily 5-10 matches but that’s the max cuz I can’t stand the full premade, voice com, buggy, unbalanced and daily * class games any longer)

Report? There was a topic like a week ago or so in the forum where some1 actually recorded a conversation on video where the player explains that he afk out each and every match on purpose and even telling it to the team, so they can report him.

Why you would ask? To prove that ANet does not care with reports and that peep did this over hundreds of matchs got who knows how many reports he got and still unpunished.

This problem is here since launch.

Aye, yesterday I downloaded and activated the WinAuth which was refered in the GW2 wiki for 2 step auth., first I seen nothing but today when I fired up my pc the console flashed in on startup, then in the background 2 malware / adware was installed, luckily I immediately found the new installations and removed anything connected to it, also the malware changed the default browser desktop icon’s startup arguments to load the delta-homes.com as a forced startup page.

I didn’t install or done anything else than installing the WinAuth from their official website, so if any1 else having the same issue we can prove the problem.

But the software is open-source you can find the code at https://github.com/winauth/winauth which would clarify it, except that the build date and the latest PR’s date for 3.2.10 out of sync, so waiting for responses.

sPvP "Hot" Topics (aka Hotjoin Issues)

Hotjoin is a place of betrayal and 500-0 but to avoid confusion you still call it hotjoin even tho it’s renamed to practice, and if you look at it as practice servers there is nothing wrong with them :O

Look at this way those wins / loses give no real amount of rank points it’s just a tenth of a (un)ranked match’s, you can join / leave cuz it’s there for practice, you can exp with builds, you can look around for map hitboxes / advantageous points, you can fun around in 1v1 without a least amount of care about the match’s outcome.

Practice servers are there for practice without real consequences of ruining a real match where no1 can leave while you trying out a fantasy build which will never work, peeps can learn the maps b4 taking a serious match, so just go and play (un)ranked, even tho that’s not a perfect place either but even ANet can’t do anything with the human factor of a game.

How do you deal with minion mancers

We don’t know what class you play but I usualy concentrate in positioning their minions in a way where I attack both the player and at least 1-2 minion, with this even tho I killing minions but also putting the pressure on the player’s self health too;

Also try to watch out for the flesh golem cuz if you take out that first, you not going to see it back since it’s an 50 sec elite summong.

For example a warrior’s hundred blade is usualy dodged by the player but minions will hang around long enough in it to die.

Take a bit of a time out, watch a WP video and come back when your mind is free from that kitten . When you get into a losing streak it’s easy to start to make mistakes lose 1v1 where you could have won if you were in the right mindset.

So, in short just fun around, I like to skip a match and just chit chat with the delusional peeps in the HoTM

How about not talking about the title, but the topic. sPvP has no limitations atm you see more rank 80 playing “Practice” than newbie, and I see alot newbie in ranked matches cuz there is no real guidance to them what to do.

Match 1: Foefire 3 of my team mates thought the far is our home, cuz the way goes there straight, so the match was decided at 0-0.

Match 2: Similar to the post above, 4 goes for home and they stuck with 1 bunker, reinforcements arrives from mid, 4 down… they never tried any other node than home again, die-runback-die-runback-die-runback…

Match 3: Starts as 5v4 bad team moral instantly, around 70-20 mate start to QQ at spawn that is 5v4 sucks and logs off to make it even better 5v3 for us, yay!

Rampage > Lich

The topic started as how rampage better than lich, worth a very short explanation: as a weapon / skill has more range it drops damage, you sacrifice safety for more damage, even tho rampage can hit hard it has to be in melee range, while lich can do 8k+ piercing attack from 1,200 range.

Also don’t wana go into too deeply, but it’s an ELITE skill it’s an ace in your stack ofc it has to do some miracle a player will pop an elite skill to turn the tides, not to remove 3 condition.

I agree other elits need to be buffed / changed tho.

stealth bursts

Even tho that’s a trash game but PWI handled this very well, stealth ends when the player gets damage.

It’s kinda logic a thief keeping up stealth because moving around in the “shadows” but when they get a greatsword in chest cannot stay “hidden” from our eyes…

Ofc when you get popped from stealth and bursted in 2-3 second you can’t counter just with preparations, I always keep signet of stone for cases like that. But when the bursts ends or the attacker realizes that I get 0 dmg just covers back to stealth..

Punisment would be simple from my point of view, dishonored debuff will not let you get any reward or stat or daily from the following 3 match, if you repeat it in the next 3 match extend it to 5 more and to 10 more, until you finaly play down the matches even if you lose…

Soooo many sooo maaaaany player leaves a match on purpose that’s almost ridiciulos, dc happens for sure, but 90% of the time when a team not in a winning position?

One can’t just leave un/ranked with the leave button, but you can log of for 3-5 min and get back without losing the “stat”.

Worst in this those acc will display a much better win / game ratio and their overall stats will show the system that they are a good player and in match making they will be considered as a “strong force” and the system will put them in a team where the players are similar on each side, and what you get? 5v4 / 5v3 around 200-120 ~

Hot Join should have a rule too where 4v4 going on and the new player always joins to the team which has the lead, why? Because the system allows it…
