I can still say, I’d like to see more events in WvW. Something to spice up WvW which can get a little stale or boring. Just not… super golem week.

If golems would cost half the supplies instead of no supplies and the damage bonus wouldn’t exist, golem rush would be fun…but someone liked the idea of ktrain 24/7.

HEY ANET! I used to be proud of my rank in WvW but then you came up with the EotM k-train and it started to mean nothing. Then this week came along with the buff to k-trainers only to make the situation worse. I am sitting this week out due to me personally NOT enjoying the (not so new) k-train aspect. At least Josh told us in the first place that he made this golem event. I wouldn’t beat him (too much) for trying as that might be the original cause why “WvW-team” (if there even is one) isn’t talking to us.

I work in customer service as well, and I personally do not think this is how you get things changed. You do get bad attention though. If someone demanded that people be fired simply because people didn’t like something the company put out, you and I would be out of jobs.

I will just have to respectfully agree to disagree.

People should pop over to the thread that they are looking at requesting thoughts on WvW events and put up some constructive feed back there.

Anet has shown us they don’t give two kittens about constructive criticism or discussing ideas. What they do respond to are the major kitten storms that threaten their bottom line. Look at the no white swords, the colored commander tags, and the expansion without a character slot fiascos.

If anet doesn’t want this kind of reaction then they need to show their player base that they want to communicate with us instead of ignoring us and disregarding us as the minority. Plenty of people warned them that this event was going to be a disaster, if they actually communicated with us we could have come up with suggestions on how to minimize the problems, such as confining the event to EotM and turning off glicko for the week.

Their worse reaction was when people bumped threads about stuff they promise for a year earlier, like the returned of the orbs. Then they were surprised about us telling them we were not happy that they didn’t implement the CDI ideas after all that time. So much good ideas were proposed and nothing got done beside the 3 tags colors.

Don’t get greedy. They are discussing about guild commander tags! If they implement this, it should be enough for another year with the new maps coming along.

No. You’re wrong. It will be 500g per colour! Then at the last minute after a huge backlash they will change it to 500g to enable all the colours currently available. Then they will bring in different colours available in the gem store for 2500 gems each…

What I don’t get is the PPK test with golem rush week. You won’t get any usable data from it. I hope they try PPK again in a normal MU.

The lack of communication is still killing me. I never ever hop on the official forums and use the WvW community once instead. Up to now the whole situation in WvW was bearable for me but this crappy event was too much and so I decided to become a forum warrior. It’s just sad.

The Ktrain was bound to happen. 4 days of players outside of golems with supercharged, blowing up new players to wvw was your intentions, right? I mean the event is still going and it shows a lot about Anet’s stance.

Do you really think people are mad about just the golem event? It’s not only the event, it’s that the golem event is a tipping point, the last straw for a lot of people. It’s that the WvW pop feels that Anet doesn’t care about them, the game mode, and is just straight up ignoring them. They’re mad that the president of the company thinks that there aren’t people who ONLY play WvW, that WvW players are really just confused PvE players. They’re mad that there are bugs that have been around for years, and no decent updates or changes to the system.

Upgrading and defending isn’t roaming….It’s upgrading and defending. Im talking about small man roams that look for skirmishes.

I was talking about roamers who cripple the upgrading from your enemy and flipping all camps while they are under siege in their objectives. This is what I meant by “defending” and “upgrading”. It has a huge impact on the MU.

They are also trying out points per kill right now. So you can remove scrims from your list. Roamers can have a heavy impact on upgrading and defending stuff and even ninja flip stuff…if they care about it and are not just another useless duellists type of players like those standing in front of sm all day long. I see a lot of complaining about coverage when it comes to WvW.

But I’ve never seen any decent solution posted by anyone. Sadly the only one is having it like EotM – red, green and blue. But that kinda takes away from server identity.

You can’t control coverage so the only way to fix it is by introducing new mechanics to the ppt system like scaling it based on the actual number of players or something like that.

Another two hours of grinding SW and still no official respond but they took their time to bring up a new teaser regarding ele specialization…rip ele. I will miss you as much as my WvW!

Some people do not like PvP, and some people only like PvP, and some people came to WvW without going through PvE/sPvP first.

We tried to take back some of our bl keeps and same thing happened to us lol. I’m just trying to make some fun out of something that isn’t much fun and just sad to see so many players completely give up by not defending or upgrading. Some even poke fun at people that are still trying to upgrade and defend.

That’s why I am farming SW right now. Roaming against 50is golem monoblobs isn’t fun at all. The guilds have started to do scrims and GvGs but that is the only WvW action right now on my server.

Its only pointless because most of your server has given up trying or is out there k-training themselves. If anything there are not many fights this week at all but if you defend and upgrade your stuff you ruin the k-trainers fun by stopping them from doing what they want to do.

I defend our keep reset night with one other person. The group we were defending ran up to the gate and built a bunch of alphas. I tossed an omega and so did the other player. Guess what? We broke all there alphas when they got into lords room and we saved our keep. Pointless to defend you say?

Thing is no one is even trying anymore and most are here saying its pointless to do so. Use your golems to defend if you have to or build balis and watch them go BOOM. Yes it is not as much fun as before this event but there are still ways to try and make it fun.. Of course if you give up and think its pointless well you won’t have much fun..

I wish Anet would find and hire some of the old wvw/rvr developers from the old game Dark Age of Camelot. RVR was one of the few things DaoC got more right than any other mmorpg out there, imo.

And yea, I know I am reminiscing……not wanting ‘the good old days’(because they weren’t)………but I sure would like to see an effort like DaoC did toward wvw/rvr in this game……wvw in this game has so much good potential…..but it has just been so much of the same old, same old over the last year. Not saying that wvw can’t be fun….there are still times out there when I have a lot of fun……but those moments seem to be getting fewer and fewer for me.

Some players are looking for challenging zerg fights with some tactic involved. It won’t happen.

Some players like to roam, killing other roamers, flipping camps to cut the enemy off their supplies, clearing some siege to prepare towers/keeps for the zerg, ninja flipping a tower quick with some other roamers and farming zerglings who want to get back to their zerg…guess what. It won’t work.

Most of those player are no casual players. They are dedicated WvWers enjoying what they like to do in WvW all day long. Right now I see most of them sitting around in LA or playing PvE or PvP while the casuals are going wild on the WvW maps farming the kitten out of it! That’s why most people on this thread dislike the event.

You get ranks fast enough without this event. They are also going to remove some buffs so you will need even less points when HoT goes live.
Earning all my ranks was hard work as a defender/scout/roamer and I regret not a single minute doing so because it was fun and not a stale and boring k-train, but at least someone is able to make the best out of it.

I hope they are going to stop this event or at least increase the drop rate for pres in SW and the mystic forge so I can also have fun! xD

Well, I feel like they could have added some more effort and thought into this. Like take this as a chance to stomp out some bugs, but instead we get some more ridiclous bugs and exploits. If that didn’t exist, and say change the golem bonus to 10% damage and made golems only cost half supply then it could still exist without the same degree of disruption.

This would have made it a fun event because you have to be prepared for several coordinated golem rushes and not a neverending army of golems crushing everything in sight.

Well ya, DR/ET the grps of golems are maybe 4 ppl big.

around 7 -10 actually. it can get 15-20 on some hours.

Some servers have to face 50+ omega zergs. There is not a real way to troll them.
