Major class and AoE changes this month?

The forums and reddit have been remarkably silent on this topic of late, so I’m not sure if this is even still planned for this month. I know they scrapped the WvW changes, but I never heard anything about the major class changes. Are they still in the pipeline?

Healing/Support Necro Build

In PVE, I always make sure I have traited for Transfusion. The heal from it is amazing. It just sucks that it doesn’t heal yourself. I’ve wondered how often other people trait it because most of the builds I see do not have it.

I think Deathly Invigoration is also worthwhile, but you must be sure to use death shroud at every possible chance to make the most use of it. I have had trouble getting the focus skill to work reliably, but you may want to try for yourself because I didn’t stick with it very long.

I have seen some say that the conal zone applies vertically as well because sometimes when the target is up or down slope it doesn’t work. But I have successfully used the skill while defending on top of a wall with the target on the ground. So that shows that this skill is just wonky in general.

Move legendary to a new character?

I just acquired a Bifrost for my necro last week and I am wondering if after having equipped it, will it ever be possible to move it to a new character? I would really like to try out some alts but I don’t want to lose all of the work I put into this. I have heard some things about transmuting making weapons account bound. Does this work, and if so, is this a bug that will be patched and won’t work in the future?

Yea, I have seen enough complaints that I have to believe this change is coming, but I wish we would hear more from them about their opinion on the matter. Have they even given an explanation for the cap in the first place?

Such a stupid monthly. People tell me “It’s only 18 salvages a day!” OK, but what if I play every other day? Suddenly it becomes 36. The only purpose this serves is to teach us to salvage stuff that we shouldn’t be.

They respawn at the same time that dailies reset, which is 7 pm ET. However, I’m not sure if you have to have harvested them for any length of time prior to the reset in order for them to respawn.

Another thief thread…

I just hate the whole play as undisciplined as you want because you can always get away mechanic. It’s just stupid. Stealth is one thing. I don’t have a problem with somebody being able to stealth and take a chance at striking at somebody before they see it coming. However, as it is there is no risk whatsoever. A thief can dive, see if he can win, and if not, get the hell out of there. Even if the guy being attacked has 10 allies show up after the theif hits, it doesn’t matter. Then, they can also just do it again and again until the person being attacked gets mentally fatigued. And this is just one thief. If there are two or more, it gets way worse.

I don’t see how anybody can think that this is the way it should be.

What class offers better support options?

Necros actually have quite a few healing options:

- Well of Blood provides area regen
– Life Transfer with the Transfusion trait provides an area heal. This is really big as it has a very sizeable area heal (somewhere around 2700 per ally at level 80) and does a decent amount of area damage as well. It does not heal yourself though.
– Mark of Blood provides regen within the mark’s radius when it is triggered.
– Deathly Invigoration provides an area heal when leaving death shroud (which you should be trying to do after every cooldown).
– Reaper’s Touch (Focus #4 skill) provides some regen, though I don’t think it hits very reliably.

Do a lot of these as often as you can and you will be a big boon to your group.

RNG for such an expensive item is definitely no fun. Throwing months of work away and coming away with nothing almost makes you want to just quit the game for good.

Extremely unbalanced profession

I don’t have as much of an issue with the whole stealth thing as a lot of people do. There are ways to counter it and ways that you will be susceptible to it based on how you are built. That is the way it is going to be whenever two people face off – somebody will have an advantage because of how each is built.

However, what I do have a problem with in thieves is the whole zero-risk attack mechanic. They can come out of nowhere, try to burst you down, and if it fails for whatever reason, jet the hell out of there, no harm done. Too good of a player for me? So long! Allies of the enemy show up? Oh crap, I’m out! It’s ridiculous. And what’s worse is that you can do that perpetually. Harass, get out, harass, get out, on and on until the person makes a mistake or mentally fatigues.

No warning before being booted

I know I have heard ANet say that they would be giving us warnings well before booting us from WvW so that we could plan for the eventuality. But there we were yesterday, about to take out seige that had been hitting our keep walls when we get the message “Preparing for a new build of WvW, you are being redirected to Lion’s Arch” (something to that effect).

So what gives? Apparently the folks at ANet just don’t have the patience to give us more than a 30s warning.

I’ve now had another item sell and my trade profit did not move at all and is still stuck at 18g65s41c. My account is totally bugged.

Last night I had tallied up all my assets so I could get a figure on what my progress was towards my legendary. It accounted for all of the following:

a) Gold on my characters
b) Outstanding buy orders
c) Items I currently have listed for sale on the TP (multiplied by 0.9 to account for sale fees)
d) Commodities such as globs, mystic coins, tier 6 mats, all dust, ancient wood, orichalcum
e) Clovers

So, I decided I would sum everything up again and compare. This time, I also accounted for trade profit and orichalcum, ancient wood, powerful blood, and armored scales I had previously purchased but not yet picked up.

After totaling it up and comparing, my current progress falls ~30g short of what I tallied up yesterday. I then looked at my items sold list and found the last item that I KNEW I had sold before I collected my profit and headed out earlier today. If I add all the items it lists after that item, the total is about 30g more than what is currently ready for me to pick up at the TP.

So, 30 gold is missing from my account. How can I get it back?

I have been crafting and selling weapons on the trading post. I have been doing a significant amount of selling in recent weeks, so I know my way around. Earlier today, I took all my profits and listed about 10 items or so, which brought my sell listings to somewhere near 40 items. I just got home and loaded the game to check up on my sales, and find that it has given me less profit than the value of the items that have sold. It says I have 18g65s41c of trade profit to pick up, which is about the equivalent of 5 sold items. But I know that I have sold probably 9 or 10 items, leaving me with 30 items currently listed.

Moreover, the amount of gold to be picked up does not match any combination of the most recent items that sold. Normally I can take the amount of gold and divide it by 0.9 to get the approximate value of the items I listed. I can then add up recent the most recently sold items to figure out the items that sold since I last picked up my profits. However, it does not match. Something is not right.

So I want to know where my money went.

Necros have a vitality class modifier? Where did you hear that? According to the wiki, vitality increases health pool by 10 per point and does not mention any exception for necromancers. The argument I have heard when it comes to toughness vs vitality is that necros have such a high health pool already, so toughness will help make the most of all that health. I did not know about vitality increasing the life force pool (which I verified to be true), so that is something to consider.

Rabid and similar gear has condition damage as the primary stat and precision/toughness as the secondary stats, so it is popular amongst necros.

If you use it under condition a, b, and c, it will work 75% of the time! lmao

Up slope isn’t an obstruction, so if that is affecting the skill, that’s a bug. But I agree, if we want to use the skill, we need to figure out when it bugs out and when it doesn’t. I think you’ve probably figured a lot of that out.

As far as Aegis goes, last night I tried it and that didn’t seem to be an issue anymore.

Can somebody please clear this up for me. I play a lot of Necromancer in WvW and often equip this skill. Sometimes it works great, other times it does nothing. I make sure to get the player in range, face in their direction, don’t see any reason for it to fail, but it just doesn’t work. I see a lot of other people claiming it doesn’t work reliably, but I also have seen people who say they have no trouble with it. So I am wondering if this is on ANet’s official bug list or not.
