CDI- Fractal Evolution

Regarding instabilities, (my suggestion will make fotm harder) how about having random instability as you level up in tier. For example, level 30-39 will have players will have 1 random instability on them and that changes for each of the new mini 4 fractal. Level 40-49 will have 2 random instability per fractal. Level 50-59 = 3 random instabilities.

You can also group the instabilities in categories of difficulties (easy, medium, hard) and the game randomly select one from each of the difficulty categories per fractal, this way each group will be treated “fairly” in instabilities.

This will accomplish a few things: making each tier even more difficult, discouraging people from just playing a fractal level with the easiest instability (lvl 49 anyone?), the randomness of instability keep people on their toes and keep it interesting bc they don’t know what instability they’ll get next, this will also help out with leaderboards (if it’s based on fastest clearing time) because the increased in number of instabilities per tier and the randomness of the instability per fractal puts everyone more or less on an even playing field.

This suggestion, of course, will make fotm more difficult. So of course you need to fix the broken/tedious fractals cough dredge cough and also need to revamp the reward system to make it worth while for people.

Quick suggestion regarding the reward system, sorry for not following the format because I’m in a hurry

As many fotm runners would tell you, we have so many rings that fill up so much space and that we don’t know what to do with them. I’d suggest we can trade in rings for pristine fotm relics, may be 5 relics per ring. And allow us to use pristine relics for more items like rings, amulets, accessories and even fotm weapons. I have many guildies who run so much fotm and have not gotten a fotm weapon. This would add some “guaranteed” rewards that people have a choice of choosing from, just make it crazy expensive using pristine relics currency.

Proposal overview
Change to Dredge Fractal

Goal of Proposal
Making it more fun and less tedious and less hated

Proposal Functionality
First, let’s look at the plate pressures needed to open the gates. Currently, the best way of doing this is stealth because killing dredge is so tedious, takes so much time and frustrating because of the insane rate of respawn. Since we need to stand on the plates, why not create mechanics around that. Dredges only have knockback, pulls, push. Dredges are blind and they use their sonics to detect where things are (banging on their shields), how about give players sonic guns that can cancel out their sonic waves and making them unable to detect players while they’re on the plates? How about having a “Strong-man” Dredge that does “tug-of-war” with the player that is on the plate.

Second, the bomb room. So again, the dredge respawn rate is ridiculously high and at the same time, dredges are able to steal bombs. Make this less frustrating and tedious by allowing players to use their knockback, pull, push skills on the dredges that are holding bombs. If players are successful at getting those dredges with bombs back to the gate, the bombs would go off and damage the gate.

Third, the clown room. Get rid of the clown cart. Just have the boss and his trash. Fun idea would be have the boss and his trash guard a “human” cannon, (and no press F to fire) have the firing and targeting mechanic similar to that of catapults/treb in WvW (excellent way to introducing some WvW mechanics in PvE). They have to aim it and power it correctly at the gate or the player “human cannonball” will down/die if they hit anything else. This would be fun, we already have a human cannon ball concept in game.

I already posted this in the dungeon forum yesterday, as I was unaware of a fractal CDI coming up. I am sorry for the double post, but I feel it is best to have this suggestion here as well for completeness.

Proposal overview
Make agony resistance (AR) account wide.

Goal of Proposal
Fractals become much more repeatable/replayable if we can bring any character. It makes it a different experience. The fractal levels are account wide, but I find myself bringing the same character because she is the only one who is equiped with AR.

Proposal Functionality
Similar to the change that was made for magic find in the past, where it was removed from the gear and made account wide, the same could be done for AR.

Associated Risks
- People who already build up their AR should have this transferred to their account somehow in order to not lose progress.
- Balancing the acquirement of AR.
- Balancing power creep from infusion slots that can now slot other attributes.

Hmm, I like this idea. As of right now my main char has about 90 AR so I mainly bring him into fotm, I’d like to play different professions in fotm but since I only play high level fotm and my other toons have low ARs so it’s hard to do.

$12.50 Charge for Convenience of Lions Arch

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Posted by: lnguy.5127

lnguy.5127

The only thing I find valid about your post is not having crafting stations at Vigil Keep.
The other main cities actually do have the same level of convenience as old LA if not more. If you look at Rata Sum, The Grove and DR, all the crafting stations are close to each other and the BLT and the bank are on another level on top of them which has a WP right next to them. I find it faster to click on a WP (has no fee btw) in say DR to get to a crafting station or BLT/Bank than running from a crafting station to BLT in LA.

I usually hang out in Rata Sum because it has shorter loading time than LA and all the convenience are there with one click of a button.

The Vigil Keep is a temporary place for refugees right now, it’s not the “new LA.”

You mention having to run longer between crafting stations and BLT/Bank. And that time is money. So let’s assume that you are right. How much longer are we talking about? 3 seconds? 5 seconds? 10 seconds? How much money can you make in those time? You may lose some worth while money making time (say 30 minutes) if you run back and forth multiple times (say 180). But why on earth would you do that? When you craft something, it makes sense to calculate all the mats that you need and buy them all on the BLT and make ONE trip of picking up the mats and then craft them? Instead of running back and forth hundreds of time buying each individual mat (who does that?)

So if what you are saying is true about inconvenience, then you probably only waste a few seconds more which is not any worthwhile money making time. Or you are playing the game (crafting) very inefficiently, which is not really Anet’s fault now is it?

I don’t think LA is going to be destroyed (or rather not completely destroyed) since a lot of the personal story takes place in LA.

Unless they will have new personal story lines. Hmmm, I guess it could be done especially since they have so many people working on LS and “bigger projects”. If we look at the personal story, the beginning personal story lines could remain unchanged. They just need to change the storylines after we join the orders and start investigating ways of defeating an elder dragon, only this time instead of Zhaitan, we have another ED (cough “Mordremoth”)

Well, I defended these new events at first..

I think part of the problem is also people are able to guest onto a different server and piggyback on their server for these events instead of re-examine their strategies and builds. There is really no incentive to successfully completing these kind of events as a main server.

Problem with guesting

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: lnguy.5127

lnguy.5127

I am not sure if this issue have been brought up and discussed. As more and more world bosses are being added to the game, and the rewards are worthy enough that people want to do them. For harder bosses, instead of learning how to fight them as a server, players would just guest to a server that have already learned them and piggy back on them. Here are a few problems that I see with that so far;

1. No server camaraderie. In learning how to fight a difficult boss and succeeding, this brings good morale to people on that server and also bringing people together. It makes people feel good about their server, creating server loyalty (isn’t that what anet tried to create with the server system). The guesting system diminish this because they can just guest on another server.

2. The overflow system is broken. As more and more people guesting to a server, it creates OF servers of that same map. But instead of only creating another new OF map when the current one is filled up, it keeps on creating new OF maps with only a few players in them. Take the Marrionette event for example, this event requires about 100-125 players to have a chance at succeeding it but when I joined Lornar’s pass, it keeps on taking me from one OF to another and each OF has like less than 30 players in it (and I know they’re different OFs bc of the commanders i see on the map)

3. This creates many frustrations. I usually don’t have a lot of time to play so when I log on, I want to be able to tackle something new like Marrionette and Jungle Wurm with my friends and server. But when I’m at the event, there are only a few of us there, then we guest on another server, we get put in OF with only a few other people. I spent like over 30mins trying to get people for the event, trying to get into a server or OF with enough people to do it. Needless to say, that did not happen. I wasted a lot of time waiting around and trying to do something that looks like a lot of fun.

I see a lot of people suggesting in map chat that I should get to Black gate or Jade Quarry, etc… an hour in advance and stay in that map so we don’t get put into OF. I thought anet philosophy is having fun in game with your friends NOT waiting around to have fun?

I don’t know if this is an issue that anet is aware of. Hopefully they are and hopefully they’re working on some ways to fix this.

My suggestion would be giving people positive enforcement for accomplishing world bosses on your main server. Could do something like the daily chests for world bosses, add another bonus chest as main server bonus chest (once a day per world boss). This will at least be a step toward the right direction, encouraging people to learn the fights, listen to instructions and succeeding world bosses on their main server.

Sorry for the long post, but what are your thoughts on this?

Also, if EDs can corrupt and control each other’s minions. We should see this in-game to the point of each ED waging war on each other because:

1. Subject Alpha is very powerful due to having all dragonic magics in him. So, it’s reasonable that each ED would want to corrupt each other’s minions to create a more powerful minion under its control.

2. EDs are ancient powerful creatures that only want destruction and consume magic. So where are the most powerful sources of magic? Why the EDs of course! So why aren’t they try to consume each other? So there must be something within each one of them that prevent them from doing this?

Wow. Nice to see all the time and thought I put into the details of the room are being noticed and appreciated! Thanks!

You can’t expect the community to stay quiet when you teased us with a piece of lore :P

@Queen: Subject Alpha is an experiment cooked up in a lab and it doesn’t seem like it can be controlled by anything or anyone. It is dubious to infer what the Inquests did to Subject Alpha in a lab to say that an ED can corrupt and control another ED’s minions.

From in-game and lore, we already have two different ways of how EDs create their minions. Kralkatorrik did this by corrupting and transforming LIVING creatures into their minions (only Almorra Soulkeeper survived this). While Zhaitan kill and/or use dead bodies and raise them up to be undead and be under his control. There may be a third way with Jormag, it seems like its minions/followers have to be willing to ACCEPT its power to be transformed (e.g. Svanir).

So Zhaitan raise up DEAD bodies to be undead in order to be his minions. So if Sylvari dies if infuse/corrupt with dragonic energies (which I don’t remember seeing this in game or lore). Then it doesn’t make any sense because that’s precisely what Zhaitan need to be his minions which is DEAD, SOULLESS bodies. There are NO undead Sylvari, this is stronger evident to support the theory that the Pale Tree COULD be Mordremoth’s champ (making Sylvari its minions) that broke free from its control, and that EDs cannot corrupt/control each other’s minions therefore we do not see any undead sylvari.

You are assuming that the mechanics of creating champions by each of the EDs are the same. You need to give evidence in-game/lore to support this. Each champion controls their own minions and the ED control the champions therefore “controlling” the minions. So if a champion fall from and ED path, it only makes sense that the minions under the champion’s control stay with them.

Again, we see with Glint that a champion can be freed of an ED control. And there’s nothing in game or in lore stating that ONLY a “ritual” can free a champion from an ED (referring to how the Forgotten freed Glint).

Sylvari can’t be corrupted, and why’s that?

Because it kills them.

Of interesting note, can one ED corrupt another ED minions and turn them into their own minions?

Yes, see Subject Alpha. So, Sylvari are not dragon minions.

Subject Alpha was experimented on by the Inquests by combining/sewing different ED minions into one. You cannot assert this into arguing that one ED minions can be corrupted by another ED and be under the control of that ED. Subject Alpha is not being controlled by any one ED in particular.

Also if one ED is able to corrupt and control another ED minions, then wouldn’t that imply that ED is stronger? Any evidence in lore that one ED is stronger than another?

The idea that the pale tree is the result of a seed intended for dragon minions makes sense, and I agree that it is probably Mordremoth. The Nightmare Court / Mother dichotomy is a nature / nurture thing. The Mother sees her role as fighting the dark influence by controlling the pale tree’s children, whereas the Nightmare court are either wittingly or not preparing to serve a new master, the dragon.

Scarlet’s plan is to somehow remove the dragon’s influence, possibly by killing it. I also have a feeling that the Mother is intended to be a Champion, and is linked to the dragon, and that what Scarlet intends to do to the dragon won’t be good for the Mother. If successful the Sylvari would lose both the malignant influence of the dragon and the gentle guidance of the mother. Scarlet intends to fill that void.

Freeing a Dragon Champion from it’s link to an Elder Dragon requires considerable magic, and a rare ritual that only the Forgotten know of. Which is something that never happened to the Pale Tree or its seed, as far as we know.

Plus Sylvari can’t be corrupted, while we know that dragon minions CAN be corrupted by other dragons. So they aren’t dragon minions. It’s as simple as that.

Sylvari can’t be corrupted, and why’s that? Of interesting note, can one ED corrupt another ED minions and turn them into their own minions?

2. The Pale Tree could be Modremoth champion, might have fallen off of Modremoth’s path due to the influence from Ventari’s teachings.

No it couldn’t. The Elder Dragons existed long before the Pale Tree even came into existence, and have been sleeping ever since. Somewhere before they started awakening, Ronan found a cave with seeds, and took one with him, which he planted in what is now the Grove (Arbor Bay back then). It is only years after the seed had been planted, that the Elder Dragons started awakening, starting with Primordus.

So how could the Pale Tree possibly be a dragon champion?

If Mordremoth was still asleep, like all Elder Dragons, how could Ronan find a seed belonging to Mordremoth? Are Elder Dragons just spawning new champions while they are asleep? And were all these seeds potential champions of Mordremoth? In which case, how did Ronan and Ventari give this champion free will? They didn’t do any special magical rituals. All they did was plant the seed symbolically, and then write a marble tablet. It was their attitudes and philosophy that affected the Pale Tree…. but that is not enough to liberate a Dragon Champion from its master!

If that were the case, why aren’t we all crafting our own marble tablets with words of peace and harmony, and liberating the Claw of Jormag, or Tequatl? If it were that easy to turn a dedicated servant of one of the Elder Dragons from evil to good, it would kind of make a mockery out of the Elder Dragons and their powers.

Once someone serves an Elder Dragon, it takes considerable magic to free them, as we know from when Glint was liberated. It is not something that can simply be undone. Jora had to kill her brother to free him, it was the only way. The Pale Tree cannot be a champion of Mordremoth.

For this very same reason, the Pale Tree can also not be an Elder Dragon itself. That was simply a hypothesis put forward by WoodenPotatoes and his videos, who reads a lot of lore discussions and borrows from them. He is however not as knowledgeable about lore as the lore community. But this theory has been shot down multiple times.

I don’t know if you played GW1. During Eye of the North, players fought the Great Destroyers, a champion of Primordus, which was before Primordus awakened. So to answer your question, yes the Elders Dragons can send out champions before they wake up. I never mentioned anything about the Pale Tree being an elder dragon so I don’t know what the point of that comment was. We don’t know for sure the specific mechanisms of how each champion is created by each Elder Dragon so one cannot rule out my theory for sure. Seeds (the Pale Trees) are young and can be easily influenced by whoever raise them (Ventari and Ronan) [the old nature vs nurture debate].

Still rooting for Abaddon to be the source of her madness and the thing staring back at her through the void.

After all if Anet almost had an Abaddon fractal, they probably already have all the assets for him and got some story link for him to GW2…somewhere.

Also his spheres were that of magic and knowledge, so it kinda fits.

1- abaddon is dead. not banished, not hiding, dead. i, and millions of others, made sure of it.

2- the abaddon fractal was going to take place far, far before GW1’s playable time, all the way back when abaddon was defeated and sealed by the other 5 human gods. there is no way that anything related to scarlet could be related to that fractal.

3- they didn’t start working on the fractal until the voting was over. they didn’t have any assets lying around.

Hahah, yes I’m still sore about Kormir ascended to godhood :P
But just for laughs and giggles, Abaddon was a god of secrets. So who know what secret knowledge he had, maybe he’s not completely dead after all.

I think there is are some pictures missing from this discussion so far (below).
In my opinion in picture 1 on the left on the table shows that scarlet is indeed searching for something (i think physical) underground.

Also i like the picture lying under the table because it is somehow giving off this sense of dread. It could be a cave/opening or it could be a maw.?
Generally black does not seem to be a good color. Dark vortex in the middle of the writing-spiral anyone? also red seems to confront black on some pictures.

I think there is something to be found if we look at all of scarlets pictures, so here are my thoughts on them:
First there is the (pale) tree strangled by Scarlets red vines (see ‘what scarlet saw’/her dream) although it seems strange to me that the pale tree would be painted as a palm-tree.

Then there is the picture that just looks like scramble but if you look closer the red scrambles are again thorns and the black things look like blood oozing from whatever is stung by the thorns. i wonder why this one exists and if there is more to it.

The eye the red eye in darkness. Now she talks about this in the journal and i think the abyss and the power within was why she wanted to look behind reality, because she wanted to find out what that power is and after she found out (still inside the dream) she changed her name and her ‘color’ to red. So basically what this makes me think is ‘red eye => scarlet’ = she adopted the color/thinking of whatever looms in the darkness and now does its bidding, which turned her against the pale tree.

But what does this mean, is she now a slave of primordius? is she maybe not searching for him but maybe for the roots of the pale tree, which in my thinking could stretch across the whole globe (as the pale tree is a kind of life-tree/mana-tree) and maybe strangle primordius?

I kind of do not want to subscribe to that theory because scarlet to me always seemed more like the “i need to do this to stop something bad (there is no other way) even if it means killing millions of ppl” kind of guy and serving someone just does not seem like her style, but there is something more disturbing that i found while looking around for more subtle hints:

Warning:
Now this could be complete ‘bs’ but i can not unsee it. It could be a coincidence and i could totally waste your time but if you are willing to bare with me look at picture 3 the ‘dragon’ looks very odd to me in the middle, almost broken, not like a real dragon, to me it looks like the top half is something else something with 2 hands that looks kind of humanoid and also the whole painting is in red, not that red has to mean scarlet but i grew fond of that idea.

Maybe scarlet found out the pale tree is a dragon and turned the minion-master link around and enslaved it (symbolized by entangling it with red vines) which means she now has the power of a dragon/is a half dragon. This would explain why the pale tree did not ask us for help or tell us about scarlet yet.

Ok it is much to late and 90% of what is up there probably does not make sense or does not mean anything but i just thought let’s be a little creative and show it to ppl and let them figure out if anything and what it means… ^^

I don’t think the Pale Tree can be an elder dragon since in one of of sylvari’s personal story, we encountered a sylvari from another pale tree.

“Please: go no further. In seeking to comprehend the forces that shape us, you will unleash them. Society cannot withstand that.”

“But I reject that call. I reject the notion that that I must choose the Dream or be lost to Nightmare. The forces that push us this way or that can be redirected. They can be set against one another to the detriment of both, and now I know how.”

“Empires will fall, continents will burn, and when the conflagration is over, I’ll be there to put my stamp on whatever new world this one becomes.”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Short_Story:_What_Scarlet_Saw

Clearly Scarlet is trying to build an army of mechanical beings in hopes to control what she is about to unleash. Her plan is to direct it elsewhere and let whatever happens happen, while using her mechanical army to seize the aftermath for her own.

So she’s made an alliance to steal enhanced forging from (Molten) and another to steal a mechanical technology to be enhanced (Aetherblades/Clockwork). She took an interest potions to control wildlife (Southsun) and to control Tyria’s population (Toxic). Now she’s tracking the flow of energy (probes) to learn the path she must direct this “unleashed force” and to better control it. All the while taking pop shots at “empires”.

It seems to me she wants to direct this “force” (Mordemoth?) at another target, possibly Primordus via Lion’s Arch (or just using it to topple all the empires at once). She is “mad” after all.

Hmmm, interesting. Well, we know that Elder Dragons’ minions are not friendly to each other. So this could be interesting.

I think her journal offers a clue. She mentioned that the voice that was taunting her at night came from the jungle. Could this be in reference to the Jungle elder dragon, Modremoth? Here are some things that I think could link Modremoth to all of this.

1. We did not know about Modremoth (or its name rather) before the living story started. Colin gave us that name in one of the interviews regarding the living story in 2013 (don’t remember exact date). He wanted to prepare us for its awakening?
2. The Pale Tree could be Modremoth champion, might have fallen off of Modremoth’s path due to the influence from Ventari’s teachings. We saw something similar to this with Glint. I remember reading Scarlet’s backstory how she did not want to be defined by Ventari’s teachings. Could Modremoth be influencing her somehow through the Dream?
3. The Pale Tree tried desperately to pull Scarlet looking deep into the Dream. Was The Pale Tree trying to stop Scarlet from discovering the truth?
4. In one of the Sylvari personal story line, we met a Sylvari from another Pale Tree. So it makes sense that an Elder Dragon has multiple champions?

People that said “I don’t want over the top animations. It’s fine the way it is.” Should read my post and replies carefully. The animations are fine WHEN it is shown which is only when you are in combat.

So lets go back in time when they announced it. They said legendaries will have:
1. Special animations
2. Foot prints
3. Auras
4. Changes the way your skills look.
5. Changes the way your armor look.
6. Especial sound effects.

I like playing shield on my guardian. So when I created (probably one of the first ones) I expected it to have all of the above features or at least most of them. So I was greatly disappointed when only 1 (may be 0.5 since animation is only there half of the time) out of 6 mentioned features are there. While the rest of the legendaries have 4-5 of 6 features. There should be some standard (like 4/6 features included in each legendary).

My complaint isn’t about the animation on FSP, where is the rest of the features that you proudly promised legendaries will have? To make matters worse, the rest of the legendaries have those features except for FSP.

I wouldn’t be mad tbh if they didn’t say anything about especial features in legendaries but the fact that they misled players is what got me. And then again they misled us by making a blanket statement that legendaries will be reworked and then exclude FSP.

I’m not saying FSP and a real job have the same value. My point is they should have the same standard for all legendaries. If all precursors have the same chance of dropping and use pretty equal amount of mats to craft. Aesthetically, it should be on the same level.

I was slightly disappointed after I crafted it (misled from the devs) but I was ok. Then they announced that legendary animations will get improved, (false) hope. Then they announced that the shield will stay as is (poking at an old wound).

God kitten I love that thing, why haven’t I got it yet?

EDIT: You got it based on how it was, which means you clearly enjoyed it, so how can you complain it’s not updated? It’s a pretty idiotic thing to do to purchase an item and hope it gets updated.

An example to illustrate my point, you working at a job that you really enjoy. You work as hard as your coworkers and yet they have got a raise except for you. How would you feel?

For those that think that we should have looked it up before making it. Well, I got the shield very early on so there was not much information about the shield. The only information that you get from Arenanet was legendaries will have special effects, foot prints, animations, changes armor, etc…So it’s not unreasonal to assume that the shield will have those and craft it (especially if you like playing shield).

When anet announced that legendaries will get reworked to improve the animations, so it’s not unreasonable to assume the shield will get reworked.

They never said all the legendaries will have all these special effects EXCEPT the shield or legendaries will get reworked EXCEPT the shield.

When they make a general statement about legendaries, it’s not unreasonable to assume that statement applies to all legendaries.

Thanks for the positive support. I’m honestly so fed up with her announcing that, that it overshadowed anything else that they could possibly have given us. Nothing says kitten Like spending several months on obtaining something and going “it will get an appearance update. I know I made the right decision” And then getting this. Worst possible scenario.

I understand you’re upset…but maybe you should have waited until they officially announced that they’re updating your legendary before equipping it. IMO you shouldn’t craft a legendary for what it may be but for what it is now. Otherwise this happens.

While I understand this, don’t get me wrong. I like to mildly roleplay the profession that I am. A shield like this goes perfect with my guardian. And while already having Foefire’s Essence, I felt it was the obvious choice to go for. When I have it equipped, I do feel like more of a guardian. At the same time, I look at what everyone else has to show with their legendary, and for putting the same amount of time and effort into it, it makes me sad knowing that I was the one that was dealt the least amount of cards.

I respect your reasoning. For what it’s worth I don’t think that other legendaries, like Flameseeker’s, shouldn’t be enhanced. While I’m not working towards Flameseeker’s myself, I do find it to be a pretty sweet legendary but lacking a footfall while a bunch of others have it is a bit disappointing. While it may not have a footfall effect, it certainly does stand out in combat, so I know I’d try to take some comfort in that if I were you.

All of this aside, don’t give up hope. Lindsay did say that they may still go back and touch things up in the future. You may still get a footfall or similar effect some day.

I don’t know about you but I felt like she was implying that legendaries what got worked on may get worked on again. Does not mean that the shield will ever be touched.

What’s annoying is the SAB shield (and possibly others) has more animations than the legendary.

I would have been less angry if she didn’t say anything instead of saying “It’s good as is.” It’s like poking at a wound and yelling screw you!

This is speaking from someone who’s only character access from Flameseeker would be an engi, which automatically would make the shield a waste: I love Flameseeker as is. I don’t think it needs anything else because, at least to me, it’s easily the best legendary in the game. It’s so sleek and streamlined I can’t help but want it.

I think you might feel differently if you actually spend time acquiring it. You spend pretty much the same amount of resources on each legendary. I don’t want to repeat myself but the shield does not have all the extra stuff (animation wise) compared the the rest of the legendaries.

Imagine this, you and your friends buy a brand new car. You all pay the same price. Your friends have power windows, special stereo system, gps, etc… in their car but you don’t. How would you feel?

You feel the shield is the best legendary in game while it has the least animations (and probably the least worked on) but I guess that’s just a personal preference so can’t argue with that. But I would like to hear your opinion again after you acquire it.

What’s a weapon with special auras/effects? A non-legendary.

So long time reader and first time poster here.

I just watched the ascended crafting video and it talked about changes to the legendaries. Pretty much the majority of them got some kind of improvements to their animations except the shield (I know Sunrise and Twilight stayed the same but they’re already great). And the reason (that was given) that the shield stayed the same was because its animation is already great.

So let’s compared, the only special effect/animation that the shield has is when wielded. There are no footprints, no bodily glow, no changes to armor, no special effects when attacking, no special sound effects. The other legendaries get all of that plus their animations is always there (not just when wielded).

Personally (and I don’t mean to offend anyone), I feel it’s a crappy and lazy reason to say that “we’re happy with The Flameseeker Prophecies” so no changes is necessary.

The reason why I got the shield was because I like using shield on my guardian.

I want to get your thoughts on this. Which shield owner is happy/unhappy with the current shield?

Before they break down that wall, I want access to the floating Wizard’s Tower. It was a mystery in GW1 and still is in GW2. I want to know what’s in it!

I just did Crucible of Eternity Explorable Mode option number 2. It’s my first time in this dungeon. Spent a few hrs in and at the end got 1 crystal while most everyone else got 60? Is this a bug or what? This is frustrating. Please fix this and if I could get the rest of the 59 crystals. Again, this is my first time running this dungeon.

Game freezes and crashes.

I’ve been having the same problem for the past few days. I’ve been playing GW2 since prepurchased and haven’t had a problem. The game started to freeze on 9/14 (after the latest game update) and I had to manually restart the computer. I’ve tried everything, from updating the drivers (both graphics and motherboard drivers) to even formatting the computer and reinstalling everything. Nothing really works. Here’s what I have:
Win-7 ultimate 64bit
GTX 560
16G RAM
Intel i7-3770K
