Hi all,
Like the title says. My game randomly self-minimizes its window every couple of minutes while playing and every time I load into a new map. Any one knows what the issue is?
Thanks.
So I’m working on this collection and stuck in third tier because of Grenth temple. I need to be corrupted while fighting Risen Priest of Grenth and I can never find a map with this temple contested (aka need to be capped).
Any suggestions?
Tried on a different toon and now Rytlock is bugged. He won’t move. Please get this resolve soon as this has been going on for over 3 weeks.
Still bugged for me.
The two achievements for this chapter are bugged for me. I can see the icon on the screen but there was no smiths. I also interacted with all the journal pieces and at the nest but no mob spawned. Anyone running into this problem?
Hi,
Since today’s update, whenever I tried logging into a wvw map then I’d get stuck at the loading screen. So then I’d restart the game and try logging into a regular PvE map from character selection screen, a Network Error keeps appearing (Code = 1083:5:7:1595:101) and crash the game.
Any help?
Still bugged for me. Need to train the Itzel poison mastery before I can continue.
Exactly. Spread it out so people would stop complain about legendary armors.
With HoT bringing legendary armor (along with legendary weapons) which would allow players to change gear stats “freely”. This is great, however, having to buy and replace your sigils/runes that would fit the with the new gear stats. This can be problematic and take the “convenient” out of having legendary weapons/armors because when you replace your current sigils/runes, you’d lose them. So this may be a disincentive for players to experiment with new builds etc…
Here’s my solution. Have someway to unlock “legendary” runes/sigils (recipes perhaps) that allow superior sigils/runes to be combined in the mystic forge or crafting. This can be progressive like how we upgrade magic findings or agony resistance.
For example (using mystic forge):
Tier 1: 1 superior rune/sigil + 1 different sup rune/sigl + 2 other ingredients
Tier 2: 2 superior " " 2 " "
Tier 3: 3 ………………….
Each tier would only unlock the runes/sigils that were used in that recipe to unlock that tier and it requires a higher number of the same runes/sigils. This would allow for a much better “quality of life” improvement when it comes to experimenting/changing builds. Which would be especially true in the new raids content where you’ll have to experiment with builds and change your roles according to each boss encounter.
Yup, just did it with guild buddies. It was awesome. Thank you Anet for this amazing JP!
A couple of things:
First, as many argued, the name doesn’t really fit because every class will be hunting and killing dragons not just dragonhunters (DH).
Second, the devs argued that this specialization specializes in hunting dragons. Lets break down that argument. It implies that DH are especially good against dragons (dare I say, better than other classes due to the implication of the name DH?). but are they really? No where in the weapon skills, utilities, elites, or traits do I see +% dmg, condition, or gain special buffs against dragons….meaning DH does the SAME damage, and has the same effects on any creatures in Tyria then why the heck do they call themselves DH when skills wise, they are not especially good against dragons?
You can argue that it’s the player’s skills that matter but doesn’t every class depends on the skills of the players and all players will be fighting dragons (doesn’t matter what class) therefore all players are “dragon hunters”….which comes back to my original point, DH don’t fit well.
Seeker fits better since this spec is bow base…arrows…seeking….fits well.
Might as well call it “Hamburger” or “Pizza” if names don’t matter
However, I think anet did this on purpose even though they know how ridiculous this name is. Maybe their plan is to tie the profession into lore something. I mean, they tied a race (Sylvari) to be associated with an Elder Dragon. Maybe their next twist is linking a profession spec into another Elder Dragon. The Six Gods might be involved? You can argue that light magic is associated with the Gods and Guardians use light magic, the Six Gods might be utilizing Guards as their instruments to get rid of the EDs to make way for their return.
Anyways, just trying to give rationale for why they gave Guard Elite Spec a ridiculous name like Dragonhunter.

This one is bugged. I’ve completed dailies for the past few days and yet no progress for this category.
Yup, I understand your pain. I remember during the dragon bash, I opened close to 2,200 dragon coffers to get a ticket while a guildie got one ticket by his 10th coffer, and 2nd ticket by 150th coffer. He ended up with 4 tickets just by opening 2 stacks of dragon coffers. RNG needs to be weighted so that each time you fail to get something, your chances increased the next try and reset if you get an item. It doesn’t even have to be double each time. Just a small incremental increase would satisfy me.
It would be nice if instead of posting what is bad, you could post suggestions as to how to improve it. Since, you are a supposed AAA developer, how can you change it?
The negativity of your post guarantees that most of the replies will be negative also. Nice way to start a pile on thread.
Learn to read. He did post suggestions.
Charr ranks:
Legionnaires -> Centurions -> Tribunes -> Imperators -> Khan-Ur.
Rytlock is currently a Tribune. It is unlikely that he rises up to Khan-Ur that fast unless he found the Claw of the Khan-Ur.
The character is indeed voiced. Did you ever played your personal story ?
Warning: nerdy devspeak ahead!
The player character (PC) hasn’t had new voice recorded since the game launched, so you’ll only hear your character speak in the following circumstances: conditional chatter, in cinematic conversations in the Personal Story, and in painterly “full” cinematics. We retired cinematic conversations with the Living World, so right now the PC can only “talk” through unvoiced dialog trees.
We’re exploring some technical improvements that may allow the PC to speak under new circumstances, but it’s actually a bigger undertaking than one would imagine due to the complexity of player voice implementation (10 possible voices, currently shared lines of dialog that we want to split out, scene timing per language, etc.). That’s about all I can say at the moment.
In short, we’re looking to make the PC speak again, but it’s going to take a bit of time to redo the code and content pipelines to make it work, not to mention updating our tools to allow us to generate PC lines that deviate based on race & gender, prior accomplishments, etc. We’re not ready to announce what those changes will actually be or when they might be deployed, but we’re seriously looking into it.
As always, thanks for playing.
If this is true, then you have no idea how happy that made me to read. I had the first fan girl moment of a lifetime and I don’t normally squeee at all considering I’m usually so pessimistic.
But yay! This would be incredibly awesome if my characters can speak again. Even if it starts off as being generic dialogue at first…. but to just have a voice again and not be the invisible person holding the door for other characters to walk through.

Braham: Hey there.
Me: Hi, how are you doing?
Braham: Did you… just talk?
Taimi: What’s going on?
Braham: I think he just talked.
Me: Hi, shorty.
Taimi: HEY! He did talk. Hey wait a minute, did you just call me shorty? You do remember I have Scruffy here.
Me: (laughs) Never Change.
Kasmeer: Hey guys? Ready to move on? Is something wrong with our friend here?
Me: Taimi is threatening to flatten me with her Golem.
Taimi: It was only a warning.
Kasmeer: Did… he just speak?
Braham: Yeah. All this time and I thought he was a mute.
Jory: I heard talking, what’s going on here?
Kasmeer: The Commander just…talked.
Jory: Right. You didn’t just talk, did you?
Me: I might have, the verdict is still not in yet.
Jory: @#$%?! Does Rox know?
Me: Well -
Rox: Oh I knew already. Why do you think I’m sitting way over here. That guy can’t shut up for two minutes.
Me: O:-)
Thanks for putting a smile on my face
They might have heard your name, but would they put your face with that name in a world where there is no television and no mass printing presses?
I understand your point. However, what I find to be inconsistent with this is that the majority of the time the NPCs get recognized but the PC doesn’t? How does that make sense? The PC is arguably more of an important figure than the NPCs and yet they get more recognition than the PCs when there is no television or mass printing presses?
Well it’d be really cool if the PC could talk again like the Personal Story, but that’s not really what I’m getting at myself. Apologies if my thoughts are coming across as jumbled or rambling.
The point I’m making here outside of all of this, is that I do not feel like the PCs are being brought to the forefront as the main protagonist. Maybe we’re not meant to be the main protagonist, but it still feels like we’re not even particularly important. Like I said, I feel like we’re the sidekick characters on The Superfriends being dragged around.
I didn’t feel like that at all. In fact, for the first time since the Battle for Claw Island mission, I’ve really actually felt a part of the story. I play a sylvari, and when I played through my character had to make it clear to Marjory that Aerin was Soundless. My choice of race was not only taken into account, but actually made important to the story! I’m sure the same thing would have happened had I played a different race, but what counts is the fact that it felt important that I was a sylvari. I really felt like I was adding an extra perspective to the group. There were numerous other moments like this in the new release, such as Kasmeer having to explain the human class system, and given that guildies who play asura engineers have told me that that race/class combo get unique dialogue with Taimi later on, I feel like it’s not just me.
I’ve already spoken my thoughts on this, but reading that thread should tell you that not everybody wants to be at the forefront. In fact, according to this poll, only 14% of players seem to want what you want. The trouble is, there doesn’t appear to be much agreement between anyone.
The poll I linked above tells us that if you go into the game with an expectation that ArenaNet build the game that you want, not only will they fail to please everyone, but they will fail to please anyone. At some point in the last few months, the community has collectively decided that because ANet is a company that listens and gives the community a voice, that the community is entitled to the game that they demand. Except, as the threads about jumping puzzles in Dry Top will tell you, nobody can agree on what the community is demanding. So rather than telling ArenaNet how they should develop their own game, let’s just all stop, take a step back, and let them create their own vision.
You are giving a skewed interpretation of the poll. As you can see, only 7% of the vote wants to be nameless soldiers and only important NPCs should be recognized. The rest 93% wants to be recognized in some way such as recognizing as a group, one hero amongst many, central figure, etc…What the majority of the dialogues throughout the open world/living story has shown is that the player is a nameless soldier/sidekick that other NPCs order around (and yes, there are a few occasions that you may get recognized but can be easily overlooked because they’re very subtle).
If Anet add something like “Hi Commander”, “Greetings Commander”, “Welcome Commander”, etc…when they address the player then it would be more noticeable that the player is an important figure (one of many). The way it is written at the moment makes me feel that the player is a subordinate of the NPCs instead of their equal or superior.
I am fine with having the NPCs do all the talking to be honest. However, I do feel the writing is weak or lacking in a sense that shows the NPCs recognize the player as an important, respectable figure (Commander of the Pact). Looking at the current living story, the Seraph addresses the player as some random, unknown adventure or as his subordinate. This is widespread throughout the game outside of the personal story. Even pact soldiers outside of the personal story seems to be giving you orders (due to the way the dialogue is written) instead of the other way around.
I am not saying that NPCs should not ask the players to do stuff. But it should be addressed in such a way that mirror your rank. If I have time, I’ll log in and get some caps on some NPCs to show my point.
Would love it if Master of Peace is Razah
Majory mentioned during that instance that those Zephyrites were killed before the crash and were just thrown off when they crashed.
Menzies the Dire
Fix this, please.
Hahah, fixed. It was my goal to confuse you
If the Master of Peace is so powerful, then he could’ve just destroyed Aerin so easily. What was the point of being chased around by Aerin?
But it would be awesome if the Master of Peace turn out to be Lazarus the Dire. I’ve always loved the Musraat as a villain. This would be an awesome way for him to reemerge and bring vengeance. The musraat, being an ancient race, fought the EDs before. They have the most understanding of the EDs and their nature than any sentient races living at the moment. So it is not out of the realm of possibility that they’ve found ways to utilize the magic within dragons. Also, the bloodstone was used as a “battery” that power the prison gates that locked the Titans away. So this can be a cool way to reintroduce the bloodstone.
Many players feel that lore from GW1 were far more interesting and compelling than GW2’s. We left GW1 with a lot of lore unsolved/unfinished. This can be a good way to close some lose ends
(edited by lnguy.5127)
Another idea could be that Mordremoth was trying to influence Aerin and corrupt him, so he wanted to get Mordremoth out of his head. The only possible that he think might work (considering where he is) is getting help from the “powerful magic” from the Master of Peace to try and block out Mordremoth’s influence. His actions could be a result of not wanting to be corrupted by Mordremoth. Which is similar to Scarlet because it seemed like her main goal during Season 1 was trying to get the voice out of her head since it was driving her insane.
The closer the sylvari are to the Maguuma, the closer they are to Mordremoth (now that he’s awakened)…so his influence is stronger. So Aerin could’ve very much been turned during his trip to the Maguuma.
So looking ahead (if this holds true), sylvari might have a hard time fighting Mordremoth in the future since they could easily be turned once they are near Mordremoth. So we might have to find some “ancient magic artifact” to help combat corruption on sylvari from Mordremoth. Which is similar to how we handled Zhaitan’s corruption using the krait’s artifact so that the dead within the artifact’s range cannot be risen by Zhaitan (during personal story).
So, I’m at the part where Aerin put up the shield and when I use the sun crystal to try and break the shield, it just kicks me back out. I tried using the crystal to push all the way through, to the middle with the small bubble, to the outer shield, etc…All possible ways I can think of and nothing breaks his shield.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
So now every time we waypoint to an area where any events are occurring, our gold is taken, but we don’t go there. We go somewhere we did not want to go.
This is worse than having most of the waypoints show uncontested, even when they aren’t.
I’m concerned that a lot of players will look at this as simple robbery?I think you should probably reread the patch notes and consider how the game was operating prior to the change.
This patch actually SAVES the playerbase coins.
Before patch: Want to go to Map A, WP A but it always shows as contested so you have to go to Map A, WP B first (spend 2s) and then go to Map A, WP A (another 2s) for a total cost of 4s.
After patch: Want to go to Map A, WP A. One of two things happens:
1. You arrive at WP A (spend 2s).
2. WP A is contested so you arrive at WP B (spend 2s) and walk to WP A.Let me correct this for you.
Your doing the Boss train, traveling around.
WP A was a lie so WP B, also contested, is a lie and you end up at WP C.
There is no way you can get back to WP A where the event is before the Boss melts away to the Zerg. You lost the cost of traveling.
You lost the reward from the event.
Did you die trying to get there? (Megedestroyer comes to mind)
Travel cost again to repair.
Did it make you late again? Lost reward.Apply the concept to what players actually do and this thread wont seem so funny.
So how is this any different in terms of getting to the boss in time compares to before. Before if WPs A and B were contested, then you would have to go to C and run to A to do the boss, now if A and B are contested, it automatically takes you to C and you still have to run to A to kill the boss. It’s the same thing, it just saves you money in the event that the WP is actually uncontested.
How does dying trying to get there apply here? It’s the same circumstance before and after the patch, if it’s contested then you will have to run there no matter what!
Your post doesn’t make any sense at all.
Let’s take a look at an example. Waypoint A and Waypoint B, you want to go to WP A (which is contestable).
Earlier system will disable all contestable WPs before you get into the map and once you go into the map and A is not contestable then you have to WP there again, costing you say another 2silvers and if WP A happens to be contested then you still have to run there.
With the current system, all contestable WPs are opened before you get into the map and if the WP is actually open then you are already there. In the event that it is contested, then you have to run there anyways because you cannot wp there.
So the new system doesn’t cost you extra silvers if WPs are actually opened, and nothing changes if it’s contested….so you are actually saving “2s”….how is saving money a gold sink?
Drops can stay the same, but I would love to see an ascended mats exchange vendor. 5-to-1 ratio should suffice (5 mats of items you don’t want to 1 mat of items you do want.) This is an easy fix. However, I doubt that Anet would do anything like this since the company wants players to play all contents in the game. And this way would only encourage players to focus on one area that they like to play. They may be able to avoid this by creating a higher exchange ratio like 10-to-1 or even 20-to-1 (I actually would be ok with this.) They can even add a gold sink system into this approach, costing a silver or something every time they exchange the mats.
I’d like to hear a dev comment on this topic.

I’m not sure where people get the idea of “Anet does not listen.” Anyone read the latest blog post? Anet’s completely changing how they deliver the living story based on players feedback (from temporary content to permanent content) https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-story-journal/. And reorganizing the living story tracker according to many of players feedback….so how are those changes “NOT” listening to players?
It’s a buy to play game, no monthly fees. Any other buy to play games that kept you interested and play for 2 whole years?
GW2 is meant to be played until you are bored, go play another game, and come back and play gw2 again when they add something new (if you want because there’s not subscriptions). So tbh, I don’t get why many players are angry at this.
2 years is not just getting started. We all see the pattern and that is that all they want is to milk it as much as they can. The only new stuff that is coming is more holiday events because that is all that the living story is. Those are nice little snacks but there is no meat and potatoes to fill you up. Maybe there is some out there that just want appetizers all day but for me it gets old and I want something savory and filling. If the chef never brings out anyone’s food then people will leave the restaurant. Promising that the chef has something big planned and then bringing out another appetizer is not going to satisfy people and they will leave the restaurant and never come back.
The game’s been out for less than 20months not 2 years and living story has only been out for 1 year (and during that one year, they’ve been testing out different methods of delivering it). And did you read the latest blog post?
if you don’t want to put your hand into the RNG god. put in 1 at a time. More tedious, but you have less chance of getting nothing.
Haha, true enough. I should have considering my luck.
I have a 1000-collection slot which are filled with empyreal fragments and bloodstones dusts (with around 230 of bricks and stars) and 100-slot inventory mule that are completely packed with fragments and dusts. This while I don’t have enough dragonite ores….something’s wrong with that picture.
Some kind of exchange/tradeable/more option system would be great.
Thanks for all the replies. And yes, I do understand the law of probability hence I stated " My RNG luck has been absolutely dismal in GW2" so the point of this post was to inquire other players of their rate for mystic clovers, if they noticed any decreased in drop rate (as Anet is known of making changes that they don’t mention in the patch notes) or that unlucky streak with RNG continues.
Please read the whole entire post before replying with the implications that I don’t understand RNG.
Completely agreed. Anet needs to boost dragonite ores drop rate or have some kind of exchanged system to exchange bloodstone dusts or empyreal fragments for dragonite ores.
So just put 90 shards worth of mystic clovers into the mystic toilet and got 0 clovers. Did Anet decrease the rate? My RNG luck has been absolutely dismal in GW2 since game’s launch but this is the worse yet. Anyone else noticed the change in clovers rate?
So that’s a total of 90 ectos, 90 obby shards, 90 mystic coins, 45 skill points with no Mystic Clovers….and to clarify, I did this back to back. I would’ve tried some more but ran out of obby shards.

Haven’t played arah since patch. Which path did you do? I wonder if the added a we to p1 after the Shoggroth, that bug has been there since game’s launch. The patch note was very vague on which we the added for p1.
Happened to me too.
There is a bug with the CoE change, the golem doesn’t activate when we walk through the door and hence stop the dungeon progression. It already happened twice for me since the patch yesterday. We just gave up on that dungeon during our dungeon tours run. It was quite frustrating.
So, my server has been matched up to servers twice our size in terms of active WvW players. It is no longer fun because every time I’m in there, I get run over by a zerg. How do you guys feel about changing the caps to WvW depends on the servers that get matched up. For example, Servers A, B, and C get matched up. Server A may have an average of 100 active players, B has 60, and C has 30. It would be much more of an even match (and more fun to play) if for that particular match, the WvW maps cap would be at 30 or even an average of those 3 at around 60.
Currently, the cap for each map is at 100 so it’s not fair nor fun for a less active server to be matched against a more active one (such as 30v60v100). I’m sure Anet can develop some kind of algorithm to determine the average active WvW’er per server.
So, I completed my Emperor title long before the wardrobe system was announced. Had to buy kitten cultural armors of every race. I deleted all my t1-2 and some t3 armors or transmuted them but now they are not unlocked in the wardrobe. However, anyone who works on this title after this patch will be able to get them unlocked and then they can just delete those to make room.
So is there any way for those of us who finished that title before April 15th to have those skins unlocked instead of having to buy those armors again?
The megaserver system means you won’t encounter overflow maps anymore.
And how we will make organised raids for Wurms? No overflow means no taxi to same map?
Read the entire article please. Here’s a direct quote, " you can still party with a friend by right-clicking on their name and then select to join them in their version of the map"
I guess its time to farm all the dragonites you need because we may have to say bye bye to event trackers with that update, even finding open CoF+CoE maps might be a pain in the kitten >.>
I hope their announcement later this week will allow dragonite to be farmable and somehow provide a realiable source of open CoF/CoE maps.
Not necessarily, it could be an all or none system. For example, CoF is opened and the map is full so it’ll just create an exact copy of that map which could mean that copy also has CoF opens. This may put an end to event trackers in a good way because if you are in that map and you see that CoF is closed, chances are it’s not opened on another copy (what are the chances of having multiple copies of Fireheart in a given time once this goes live…probably just one map for all servers most of the time). And now, with this megaserver system more people will be in the same map making it easier to complete the dungeon even.
They haven’t posted the changes they will make to events and world bosses to accommodate this new system. But I would suggest adding dragonites at the end of the events to open dungeons, this would encourage players to do the events more.
I love this system but I guess if too many people are concerned about the “lost of rarity” then easy solution would be to not allowing legendaries to be added into the wardrobe. On a side note, if it’s called “the wardrobe” then why have weapons in it at all? I wouldn’t mind if it’s just for armors and backpieces.
Didn’t anet mentioned earlier that their events are being neglected by most of the players because it’s not offering enough rewards. So wouldn’t nerfing reward from events further discouraged players from actually doing events (and possibly exploring)?
I’ve never considered armor repair costs to be an issue, and to balance that out by reducing rewards for events might discourage exploration.
I think they’re making these changes based on WvW point of view because players die a lot more (making no costs to repairs reasonable, encourage people to experiment with builds more, and not afraid to fight instead of running away), a lot more events that are extremely quick to complete (so nerfing gold/karma gain can also be reasonable). Again, I see that it makes sense to have these changes in WvW.
However, if you look at PvE point of view, there are many ways to make gold and events aren’t one of them, while anet wants to encourage more exploration in PvE and doing more events, nerfing their rewards will not help that. At the moment, many PvE players are starting to feel a shortage of Karma since its nerf so I think in PvE, events should have their rewards increased (meaning karma and gold) to encourage more exploration, doing events and help with karma shortage.
In my opinion, these changes should be separated by WvW and PvE.
How will cultural armor work? Once we buy a piece of cultural armor, will we be able to use that piece on any race?
What about the GW1 armor/weapon skins? Will those unlock into the wardrobe? If so, will they cost any transmutation charges because currently, we can use those for free through the Hall of Monument?
I do have some concerns about having to wait until level 30 to play with traits.
Just a quick note to let you know i am up to date.
I am assuming that you all feel that for example a Dredge rework is higher priority than say a rework to rolling?
Chris
If you rework rolling without fixing the Dredge fractal then that fractal would never get played because players would just skip/reroll that fractal. This would make Dredge fractal a waste. So yes to reworking Dredge first.
Why is rolling an issue? Rewards rework is at a much much higher priority to me.
And yes to large scale instance, my guild has been dying for something like that. Bring back gw1 8-man or 12-man challenging instances plz
P.S. Is there a way to create some type of ranking/polling system on here?
