Traps should be cast in from of you, not at your feeds. That is the very first thing that must be changed.

Like a Venom sharer myself i call this change a nerf, if anet was concerned about de new weakness be too OP they can just cut duration to a 50%. It coul be a hugh buff to support thieves, but the chance was missed.
In dont get the change to body shot, now dungeon a pve thieves can stack 10 of vuln x 1.5 seg to big bosses? were is that a improvement? Any anet thief tester acctually play any pve content? because seems a pretty stupid change.
Is bugged to do the minimun or the maximun damage? anybody knows? if is bugged to do the minimun then must be fixed, but if the current will be the maximun damage, then is a crap change for weakness.
They nerfed to force thieves use the stunbreakers of the utilities, you know, to improve variety in builts <- sarcasm.
The only stunbreaker that my VS built used now is gone, dredge are worst than before.
-Lotus Strike: Poison duration increased form 2s to 4s. <-Well
-Shadow Trap: Increased recharge to 45 seconds.
Destroy Shadow Trap: This ability now teleports the thief back to the trap location when it is destroyed. Added range skill facts. This skill now breaks stuns.
Shadow Pursuit: This ability now grants fury and 10 stacks of might for 5 seconds along with stealth when used to teleport to the enemy who triggered Shadow Trap. This ability now breaks stuns. <- And the other traps? still usless?
-Death Blossom: Now costs 4 initiative. <- A bug fix
-Body Shot: Aftercast reduced by .4s. Decreased Vuln duratrion to 3s. Increaased to 10 stacks fo Vuln.<- the aftercast reducction is fine, the vuln duration thing is a nerf.
-Pistol Whip: Decreased the time between the sstun and the sword flurry. <- another bug fix
-Scorpion Wire: Decreased aftercast by .2 seconds. Reduced cooldown to 20s. <- a bug fix + a buff
-Signet of Malice: Increased the base heal by 33% of the passive ability. <-a buff
- Steal: Recharge reduced to 35. <- good
- Cluster Bomb range set to 900 from 1200. <- nerf. If Anet want me to use p/p, then fix the pistol nistead of nerfing the bow.
-Larcenous Strike: Initiative cost increased to 2. <- a nerf coming from QQ land
-Nine tail strike: 3 initiative to 5 <- nerf
- Shadow assault: 5 initiative to 7 <- nerf
- The ripper: 5 seconds of bleed to 7 s of bleed <- meh, still you can stealth underwater only with the heal.
- Deadly Strike: Weakness duration 4s – 5 s, damage increased from 1 to 1.2 <- a buff
- Skale Venom: Replaced Weakness with Torment. <- Anet are you serious? why change the only good venom? why dont put that new condition in one of the usless ones? Jesus, sometime i think they are brainless.
- Dancing Dagger: Reduced initiative cost to 3. <- bug fixed, still bad skill
- Shadow Return (infiltrator strike toggle): This skill is no longer a stun breaker. <- nerf
- Withdraw: Travel distance cut in half underwater to match the land distance. <- a fix or a nerf? lets call it a fix
- Deadly Strike: Reduced weakness duration to 3 seconds. <- nerf
- Crippling Strike: This ability no long applies weakness. <- nerf
- Rusty Scrap Strike: Reduced weakness duration to 8 seconds. <- nerf
- Throw Scale: Reduced weakness duration to 6 seconds. <- nerf
And thaits, well, more nerf than fixes or buff. I really hope this is a fake, if dont, then anet reaaaaally hate PvE thieves most.

I’ve had no problems, salvaged 50 rares bought with tokens yesterday and got 51 ectos
Well, then hope is just me in a bad luck row.
you are a bit late, the train of complaints got a responce already from the economist on staff.
What he/she is saying is since the fix they are still low. I really can’t say as I have been selling and using the Mystic Toilet lately.
Exatly, i mean, after the last patch the amount of ectos from salvage get low again, or is the feeling im geting from salvage right now.
Anyone has noticed that the amount of ecto coming from salvage rares is still very low? i salvaged about 100 rares and get barely 20 ectos from them between yesterday and today. Is the bug back again or is just me in a bad streak?
GW2 is a game of team cooperation against multiple foes, be in open pve, be in dungeons, be in WvW and even in SPvP. The main problem with the traps (Needle trap and Tripwire to be more specific) is the 1 sigle target activation/aplication, that make both of it very lackluster in this game.
I belive the firt step that Anet must do with Needle trap and Tripwire is make both hit at least 3 targets. After that we can see if those traps need more love or not.
Shadow trap, well, i dont know what to do whit that trap, some people love it, many hate it (including me), so no ideas for that.
Ambush trap is fine rigth now.
Also, thieves need a trait for use traps at range, just like ranger´s traps or necros´s wells.
Master Trapper need something more besides the 20% of faster recharge, maybe fuse together Master Trapper and Corrosive Traps in 1 trait, and then create the aoe trap trait that i just suggested will work fine.

So, if stealth is not a op mechanism that can be countered just learning to play, so why dont make all invisible for thieves (and mesmers too) when they stealth? i mean, if a thief (or mesmer) stealt him/her self, also at the same time all their surronding enemies (including pets, summons, clons, etc) become invisible for him/her too aswell while he or she reamain in stealth mode.
If Anet do this, then all the nerf to the thieves can be reverted, even so, they can rip off the revealed debuff aswell. I think all the thieve must be agree with this change. This way we can show to all the QQ players how to figth against a invisible enemy.
Then was a bug? each time i was using S/D flanking strike it removed 1 stack of Defiant.
So, the new Flanking Strike +Larcenous Strike don´t remove Defiant from bosses. At least before the patch i cold done that, but now is just half efective agains bosses… Most foes in PvE dont use boons, most bosses neither do (just try in AC, CM or the new Flame&Frost dungeon and see), so what the kitten i will go steal from them whith LS? Why they remove that? the steal boons in PvE is not so great or useful like it is in WvW or PvP, so the defiant remove dont deserve been baned like that. At least make that we can stealed=changed to stability.
Another nerf for PvE thieves from Anet, they really must hate us.
1- Steal should work in yellow targets, like world bosses, objets, walls and doors in pvp and so.
2- Steal should always steal 1 random buff from target and 3 if traited, 1 of them shared whith his/her team.
I do more PvE and dungeons that wvw and pvp, so the heal will be a great boon in boss figthing and i wellcome it very happy.
Only Ambush Trap from time to time.
The problem with p/x was adressed by the thieves comunity since the release of the game. Then, one day, Anet say “yea, we wanna give someting to pistol/pistol” 1 month later Ricochet was incresed from 5% to 20% and Pistol Mastery from 5% to 10%. Was so disapointing to the comunity that everybody just leave the pistol in its sheath and forget about it so anet never ever mock us again.

And 1.5 seg of turnig gray a legendary boss each 40 seg. is stupid for a elite, better any other. Im runnig a venom share built and i can tell you, is a not very long stun duration at least all the team rotate their attacks for that, if dont, it last 3 seg. max because BV dont stack.
If the 1 seg. cast of BV were changed in PvE to instat cast like all the others venoms, it would be a very good interrup for big bosses, working even for no SV thieves, that is what im suggesting. The 2 seg of duration, well, not needed if the casting time were intant, i can admit that.
Some creature types are intrinsically immune to stuns. Even a lowly jade colossus or earth elemental will be immune. But a creature that acquired immunity through defiant because it’s a champion or legendary will be vulnerable to BV. I didn’t try to stun Abominations recently though, they were vulnerable last time I tried.
A tried, BV is working in Unstoppable creatures if they dont also have inmunity to stun. Maybe that was my confusion, good to know.

Also, Basilisk Venom is the worst elite in PvE if you don´t aspect for it (and even so). So, why Anet dont make BV instant cast whit 2 seg. of duration in PvE?
Thief downed state is the worst in PvE right now, is almost a sure death in most case wen you are soloing. That is one of the several reasons why new thieves have so bad times leveling up. I hope anet at least split the downed state betwen pvp/wvw and pve.

The main raeson why steal feels better in pvp than pve is beacause in pvp thieves know of what will get if she/he steal to X or Y enemy, which allow them to think for ahead and planing the best choise.
In PvE we cant be 100% sure of what we will get when we steal, sometime we steal weapons useless against the same foe who we stolen to (like rocks from the Veteran Jade Colossus in the Jade Maw fractal) and sometimes we get nothing at all, like i already posted here. Is Like the whole mecanic of the thieves was not very well planed for pve in any way (like poor condition removals and not sourses of stability for a primary melee class, is very stupid when you think in most boss figths).
Also, anet wanna give us more mobility? so the best thing than thives will can do in dungeons is not to die? each second i spend moving around in a fight is a second that i loss to help my team, mean hitting the boss, using sr, buffing whith shared venoms or anything else. More mobility will be pretty cool for trolling in WvW, and maybe thieves will get less down in dungeons, but that is not a smart solution for the PvE thieves at all.

Probably:
- Cluster bomb will cost 8 of ini
- Mug will aply 1 stack of bleed instead the damage.
- Blind will affect the targets only 50% of time
- A thief can not be in steal more than 6 seconds no matter how much you stack it
And finally:
- Steal will make thieves transparents, not invisibles.

Pff, the Thief class skill is by far the least interesting anyway. I wish they’d just replace it all together.
Agree and agree, but asking anet to change a mecanic when the current one is still broken will take ages. I think that steal should have to steal one stack of boon from the current target (full length) including the posibility to steal even 1 stack of defiant from bosses.
But, meanwhile, at least i hope they fix what i ask in this post. Too many hate on the thieves has make the devs think in us only fron the nerf glass and nothing more.
I know is not going to help us kill Tequatle faster. But is, somehow, very immerse-breaker when you see all others 7 profession using their f1-f4 skills agains the Yellow bosses and then, when you tray to steal something from it you only get a 50 seg of cooldown (no traited steal).
I had done a list of tested epic boss in the world that give you nothing when you steal from them.

Great Jungle Worm (starting sylvari map)
Fire Elemental (starting asura map)
Shadow Behemont
Golem Mark II
The Nightmare Tree from all the three exp paths in Twilight Arbor
Tazza from path one in Sorrow’s Embrace (she is not even a yellow boss).
And others that i dont have tested properly yet. So, my question is for Anet ¿Why, since the launch of the game, our f1 skill has been so useless agains the big boss of the world? why other profession can use their own unique profession skills against everything that the pve world have but not us? is also for the pvp thing? (<= sarcasm).
Hoping any sort of answer from devs i say bye and thanks for reading the post. Also, if any other player want to add more creatures “immunes to steal” just posted here and a will edit later. thanks for reading again.

Noy only stealth, was caltrops making the thief op in dungeons or open pve? i dont think so. -5 seg. to caltrops only for QQ players in pvp.
and the cuasi extint venom share thief and his Basiliks Venon change? who cares about those thief wen you have another better 7 profession to do suport in pve.
This is the kind of post that contribute nothing to the thief forum, made for another QQ player.

Change de Ele for a Engie or the Guardi for a Thief (or change both) and maybe i take this seriusly. Not all the pugs has an Ele and an Guardi so conveniently for the icebow and the stability that they may bring to AC.
Well then, not all PUGs would have a thief for their stealth or an engie for their amazing versatility now would they?

Maybe im a bad thief who dont know how to use it, or maybe they are bugged. I mean, why 20 seg of cooldown in this Downed skills? are they superpowerfull in someway that i missed? 2 seg stealth will bringme back to the fight? How is that?
Really if someone can explainme how i must use this skills i will be very thankfully, both seams to me very stupid and useless, other class have a powerfull “last hope” in their 3th downed skill, but thieve have 2 seg of agonized waiting for our dead.
Any advice of how i suppost to use this skills will be very gratefully wellcome by my part.

I was also one of those who deleted the first caracter created whith the mini rylock, the chalice and the tome, the only message i get was the delete caracter message, not the message to remove all items (at less i dont remember it).
Can you tell me please if Will take much time to get back those items?
