Keep in mind that gamers today might not have. A 16 year old kid today was born around 1999. Their first console might have been a GameCube, or a Wii.

Tons of people, if not most, won’t even know what “retro” refers to. They’ll think it’s some kind of artistic choice to make things “non-HD”. The last thing they’ll do is identify with it.

Maybe some sort of dream bond for sylvari , Great hunt for norn , Lab partners for asura , Warband members for charr aaaaaaaaaannnnddd , uhm Same family for human ?

Character slot expansions are on sale right now for another 22 hours. They’re not likely to get cheaper than they are now.

Hope you see this before they go off sale.

Would you like to explain what kind of mode that is for those of us who are not familiar with those games?

Each side has a base to protect , The other side tries to destroy it. There is 3 paths to the enemy base. The is a never ending stream of AI units walking the paths and fighting each other. Then the hero (Player) makes a diffrence by destroying the other side’s AI so his side can gain ground. The first one to get his army to the enemy base wins as it is kinda impossible to destroy it without a army because of the defences.

Anyone with a better explanation ? I suck at this

Also if you run up against an opponent that is 10% better then you on all their stats. You have 10% more health and armor to get through of theirs while they’re beating you down 10% faster. It’s WAY MORE then just 5-10% better you don’t need it. Math helps just a hint.

At the NO…Effort I was talking about PvP , Your stats are the same in pvp , a Green level 10 item has the same stats as a level 80 Ascended item.

Last time I was in WvW there was not gear equalization. Okay well in that case I stand corrected if they added gear equalization at some point in the last two years.

My questions would be when are they going to get back to a game that is played for fun rather then played to grind? Grind for gold, grind for gear. When they released the game it was all about playing to have fun and running around killing Yaks all day in WvW was a blast. Then they brought out Ascended, Fractals, and a slew of other grind fests. I am playing through War Lords of Draenor and there is no sense of grinding at all. Even at the end of Pandaria there wasn’t any grinding. There was some fun guild raids and PUG raids if you were in to that. But the PvP you could get the best gear in the game relatively quickly and then just play.

It sounds like GW2 promised something different from the other big games, but then it evolved to to the worse case of it then any of the other games. Right now not playing GW2 and doing anything else in other games or RL is time better spent.

I don’t know if they can fix that. Even if they did remove ascended gear,(which would tick off a ton, but wouldn’t be the first time they just remove some achievements), or made Legendary’s non pay to win they’d still be going back to a concept that most who have left don’t associate the game with. They won’t get those people back and they’d still be trying to go back and fix a game that’s now 2 years old. Like if they came out with the legendary scavenger hunt. Great we’re now able still have to put a ton of grind in for something that’s two years old……… Dunno how they’re gonna fix the game I don’t know that I could even from that state they’ve put it in. Probably just let it pass in to history as just another next big WoW contender that failed.

You say that WoW have raid for people that are into it ? Well so is fractals , if your into it do it , otherwise don’t. And in pvp in GW2 you HAVE the best gear , it does’nt take little effort…It takes NO effort….You can’t get less grind than that. Also Ascended have a 5-10% increase in stats If you dont plan on doing fractals it ain’t needed

I have a idea , Why don’t Arena net send out IN-Game mails with lets say 3 options , The player gets to chose which of the 2 options he/she would like to see in game and press reply. That way Arena net can at least know how many of the community want what.

and so on

I run the same build as you op , and all you have to do is Use obsidian flesh when they burst , wait for the worst to be over and kill them while there abilities recharge , If it is melee , activate all your signets on them , Chill will make there skills slower , burning does a solid 10K burning if you use carrion stats and Imobilise will make any melee attacker useless. Dont be afraid to activate signets

For the rewards, I found it really underwhelming (gold wise) the first time around. Then I organized a map with killing all 5 breach bosses. Turns out you get a big key (for the big chest in the middle) if you kill all 5 breach bosses, so that’s a nice bonus.

That’s what I did as well. I helped command one of the fortresses the day after this episode went live, and we killed all 5 bosses on our first try, and got a key. I went into the labyrinth, died about twenty times trying to get to the center, and then got some green items from the chest for all my trouble.

So let me get this straight.

• The whole map organizes itself, and defends the fortresses.
• They then defeat these 5 bosses within the time limit, and are awarded with a key.
• And that key opens up a chest, that is annoying to get to, and gives a few greens, with a very minor chance to drop a box with armor.

All I need to do is use one shovel, to dig up a better reward. Is there really any reason to do the labyrinth? I don’t like the game play, so is there any real gain?

The chest gives rares exotics and 3 champ containers , no greens……

A little help please ? in PvP I play S/F and WvW staff but In pve I struggle to get a good build. I’m thinking D/F as I hear it is crucial in higher fractals , also how do I might stack with it ?

Win 10 000 Rated arena matches should keep you busy I promise that aint easy AT ALL. Or capture Stone mist castle 2500 times is also one that will take you a while. Most pve titles aint all that hard , they maybe take a while like dungeoneer and dungeon master.

Haha, didn’t say it didn’t have any at all ^^ But it could sure use some more. It’s a good motivation to keep you playing
