To anyone involved in the 3-way battle for Bay on Maguuma Borderland that occurred tonight, I salute you. After a 6 hour Mag siege of Bay, and our YB defenders dropping more siege than our moderate numbers could actually man, that was absolutely the perfect ending.
Attacked from both sides by Mag and DB, a three-way fight at the keep lord over 4 rounds, a partial cap by DB that got interrupted by Mag running back from Garrison and Yaks respawning on the waypoint tick at exactly the same time. A ballista on a boat even.
Mag won the keep, but I can’t imagine anyone coming out of that in a bad mood.
yeah that was pretty crazy…trebs reigning down gas……I think we (DB) started building arrow carts on the walls inside the keep….
I thought yaks had it then the mag i mean the PYRO :X swarm stacked and came in full force….i died….
nice…DB BL is the only map that is queued up right now I WONDER WHY?
What’s there to wonder?
I just thought that EB was the place to be on reset night, not some boring BL…
;/
nice…DB BL is the only map that is queued up right now I WONDER WHY?
I would like to thank Mags and Yaks for the ton of badges when they tried to take our garrison in our home BL. That was quite fun. We thought we were done but we wiped yaks and then mags tried to come in rights after…and got wiped as well.
Despite being the most skilled and swag presence, Mag has also been the most empathetic in the matchup, easing up since Friday, sensitive victory within the tier assured.
We wouldn’t want to harm the already bruised ego of NA DB, as the only players of the server who get mentioned are the SEA pvd zergbots.
Only time our SEA is mentioned is usually in the tone of complaints from opposing servers in this tier. No bruised ego here…..
“Eternalight.4708: I’m honestly not sure what can be done to fix situations like this. We could easily tie the scoring to current WvW participation but we’d still have outmanned servers fighting larger forces day in and day out. Rough spot to be in.”
There are two options really:
1. Wait for us (SoS) to go away and pray we don’t come back.
2. Join usI’m not trying to be a smart-aleck or show any disrespect for CD or SBI in this regard. It’s simply that we retained some of our NA WvW strength and we remain the unofficial Oceanic server.
I’m sure that if you’ve stayed with your server through the ups and downs, that you have a lot of server pride as we do; but the green spot of T4 will be filled with either a server with significant night presence (SoS, Maguuma, Kaineng) or with a large NA zerg like Yak’s Bend.
As far as option 1; you can either keep being frustrated for 1-2 more weeks until YB brings a whole new frustration to the game or you can roll over.
As for option 2; we are always welcoming to individual transferring players and even entire guilds who want to join our active community. We have regained our footing in WvW, without neglecting the desire for PvE and even SPvP.
Ball is in your court.
or 3. just ignore this guy, and for the love of everything that is sacred and pure do not do 2.
been meaning to keep an eye on this tier and see how sos is doing after swapping places with mags. to be honest mags is putting up a pretty darn good fight since joining our tier, is in 2nd place right now. but if you join sos, and they move up a tier, you will be faced with the same frustration with db’s oceanic. trust me. unless something has changed and they got like 2 or 3 oceanic guilds and their na is better than yak’s now. yaks and mags have been going toe to toe in na coverage in tier 3.
I miss the good ole days where seige placement along with coordinati……bleh nevermind…
Wish they bring back build templates and get rid of the cost of retraiting.
cost of retraiting is honestly not an issue. It costs 3 silver for a level 80 to retrait, i wouldnt really notice nor care of the difference. Build templates though would be good, and im guessing they may return, especially if they split PVE an WvW skills, in fact they would probably get rid of cost of retraiting too.
Still i think the problem is the cost of re gearing, and not just with money, but with convenience, inventory, and manageability.
Its not really a matter of cost…its just unnecessary. Its not needed. I would love to retrait while im in wvw without having to go visit someone just so I could retrait. It could cost 0 silver. Its just the fact that I have to go to an npc to do it. It wasnt in gw1…why is it in gw2?
Wish they bring back build templates and get rid of the cost of retraiting.
Arena net…. stick these people in overflow servers and make an environment where people can improve ones skill in the game without the annoying waypoints to run all the way back into battle. Can you imagine a 5v5 where the goal is to down the other team? Have the match end on down. Do a first to 5 wins…first to 10 wins. That would be great.
Wait does something like this exist in pvp?
Preeeeeeety sure he trollin.
The majority of people are missing the point in this thread. It’s not that anyone HAS to do them, or NEEDs to do them….it’s that the design creates a situation that causes players to feel like if they don’t do them they are missing out on something they need to get what they want. Does that mean the world will end? Of course not…but that doesn’t make it good design either.
For a great many players, dailies control what they do in the game…in a game that specifically made “play the way you want to play” their log line! And yes…it affects the more casual than the less casual. Take three groups of players:
The very casual that only have time to log in a few times a week…are screwed. They’re not going to get the items via hardcore routes as they are probably still level 5 or 6 in fractals. They’re going to get laurels very slowly as they may not even finish the monthly, let alone a daily more than twice a week. And when they DO get to log on, they feel compelled to do the daily as it’s the only slow path to getting what they want.
The average player probably has time to log in most nights, but not for a long period of time. Maybe an hour a night. For these people they are given a choice between doing the dailies or doing what they want to do. The problem is, a great many of these people will feel compelled to do the daily because they want to work towards progressing their character, and they get stuck in a rut of feeling like playing for fun costs them getting what they want on their character…which is not fun.
For the hardcore player…none of this matters. They are going to get the gear via other means, and they play so much that the time it takes to do a daily doesn’t matter. In fact…they play enough that they probably don’t even have to look at the dailies because they just happen.
Pro daily arguments that come from a stand point of “they just happen”, “it doesn’t take long to do them”, etc…are really irrelevant because those arguments support a play style that is completely unaffected by dailies.
Arguments of “they don’t give you much so it’s not a big deal if you miss them”…miss the point. As long as they are the ONLY avenue to attaining a currency that gives things people want…they pressure the player into playing a certain way and that is bad design.
fyi…the time that was spent typing out this post, you coulda done your daily ;x
hmmmmm….
i’m assuming both of you were on your thieves and …well…thieves are annoying to fight…
I experienced motion sickness when playing FPS like Borderlands 2 and Battlefield 3. Rapid camera movements can do that to you as well as staying focused on one point while moving the camera all over the place.
I had to change up my playstyle in FPS such as
1. Try not to move the camera so rapidly when looking around. I know this might be hard to do in a competitive environment, but it helped me quite a bit.
2. I know this might sound wierd but moving my head slightly to the left or right before panning my camera around helped some.
I can be playing borderlands 2 for quite some time if I made a conscious effort to implement these tips. But as soon as I jump in the back of a car and tried shooting stuff while my buddy was driving prompted a 2 hour break from the game before I could even look at a computer screen.
There is a youtube video out where I saw a one handed sword with 8bit flame effects….might be a hint. ..
I agree, 30 days is plenty. As fun as it is the novelty would be lost if it were permanently in the game.
I honestly want to know why you would apply this logic only to the SAB dungeon-like world, and not to, say, other dungeons (that also provide unique and cool skins), or jumping puzzles (that also provide unique and fun challenges).
Honestly…saying that s.a.b. is dungeon- like is laughable. I wouldnt even call it a dungeon….
I have a hard time finding a counter arguement with your statement though….since…southsun cove is here (who even goes there anymore?) . It isnt going anywhere. Fractals…yeah…not going anywhere. Only thing I can see is that people eill want more of this s.a.b. where the focus is supposed to be mainly on guild wars 2 mechanics.
Edit: If there is a compromise where actual gw2 content development will be impacted if s.a.b. need additional support/developmeng time… I say shelve s.a.b. and come back to it when time permits.

Game Over.
I think a month is enough.
i want to buy a tshirt with the s.a.b. logo and ‘stop the graphics!’ on the back(or vice versa)…..and of course the gw2 logo somewhere….lol
awesome tips. and who cares what arenanet says about a class. we play the game more than they do, i guarantee that.
I can see this being discontinued at the end of this month, but make people pay for the add-on if they wish to keep playing it. i’m not sure on how much it should be priced, but if people want to keep playing it i’m sure they are willing to pay for it. that would provide some income to pay the devs to keep adding content to the s.a.b. game.
edit- i can also see anet charging gems for each new world that is added in the game…purchased through the bltc.

wow you were watercooled too?

hey what about this laptop ?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009H8RG0S/ref=mw_dp_mpd?pd=1&qid=1363890877&sr=8-1
only has a 3630q though….i have a nice desktop at home already [i7 970 @ 4.2ghz, 2 680gtx sli]…but would like to play games on the go…
And on that note….our AR guild tried so hard to take SM from the south last night….we were reigning down the treb terror and had 2 walls down. We didnt have the numbers to push past the well place arrowcarts/ballistas/cannons. We were outnumbered as well. It was ugly.
But then I noticed BP borderlands was slowly turning blue
Oh well I logged this morning and saw BP was back up to 465 pts. :x
Kinda sux that wvw domination isnt based on the number of kills you can get per encounter.
I thought nsp was taking a break. They seem pretty lively here. They put up an excellent fight last week. Our guild sure has fun taking pangloss sp and fending off 20 +nsp with arrowcarts and ballistas for a while before being overran…you guys will be missed if you jump down a tier.
Dontain posted a pretty cool looking condition warrior build a few days ago. Heres the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6SAPzcn2jc
I’m so going to try this build. It looks like it synergizes well with fast hands and how fast he builds up adrenaline for that arrow burst shot. Giving 6 stacks of might to your party is pretty good too, and he crits so much for that omnomberry ghosts to proc the life steal.
I’m almost willing to bet that most of their resources are tied up in Wintersday :X
Var Charr Twenty is mine.
Another round of nerfs for retaliation but Thief still hitting too hard

wow your jewelry could use some serious upgrades. Also, you need more toughness…. :X
This is were I would disagree because I would stop and help if I happen to be roaming around on my mount and the De is right next to me.
I dont get your theory on how it would have the opposite effect? If the zones are empty there would be nobody there to help with a DE. My theory is if there are people riding around in the area there would be higher chance that they will stop..
I applaud you for being a contributing player and helping out others. but I don’t think that people are going to be enticed to do lower level DE’s if they have a mount at lvl 80. I know I wouldn’t. :X Hey, at least I’m being honest.
Only use I could see is to make 100% World Exploration easier. I know that’s what I would use it for.
Do clones really do that much damage?
" I think it greatly increases the chances that they will stop and help with an event which would fix the problem for people saying that the de’s have died down in certain areas."
I don’t see that as the case. As a matter of fact it would be quite the opposite.
Personally, I think it’s just oversight to allow for such a thing to even be possible. Those armors types should be disabled based on the armor-class you are playing. Why even allow it? Why are they even showing “Heavy” and “Light” armor types from vendors if the class you are playing only wears “Medium” armor?
Makes no sense whatsoever.
Panning fast in a game tends to make your brain think that you are sitting in the middle of a merry-go-round, and that is exactly what it feels like when I play first person shooters. I can literally play GW2 10 hours straight without flinching. But playing Borderlands 2 for 20 minutes leaves me nauseated.
The only way I could play Borderlands 2 with my friend is to try panning slower. If you can. It might be kinda hard to do in a fast paced WvW match or PvP (especially considering the aspect ratio of the game). It helps me some in FPS that I play with my friends, holding the motion-sickness feeling at bay for a little while.
The chef is annoying with his “Seize the moment” line …it’s like…gawd…shaddup…
But the tailor one, love it. “Excelsior.” I literally run up, hit “F”, click “X”, wait…..hit"F"……click “X”…wait…..hit “F”….
“Excelsior.”
Has to be the cutest kitteh voice in all of Tyria.
I think that everyone has covered various options to the symbol nerf. You can still rock a greatsword but for the love of the game please weapon swap on the beloved symbol cooldown. Like a scepter and torch. By the time you burn through skill 2, 4 and 5, a a whole minute has passed….lol…..
j/k…but weapons swap…please?
Look forward to fighting alongside you and your guild on the battlefield.
