I would love to see the devs reply about their stance for evasive arcana/elementalist in general. It would be much easier for me to make decision to reroll other prof or not.

You might want to rethink that. PvE wise, ranger are doing good, except for the subpar damage and utilities at dungeons. But we will be getting some buffs soon, just not this time around.

The community is exaggerating this time because there were promises made and the minimal fix we had. (Rangers do not get any changes at halloween patch, none at all)

Devs do not visit any of the profession forums at all. I saw that there was one (1) post in one (1) of the forums, but that’s it.

Jon Peters replied to the ranger and warrior forum regarding the lack of fix from this patch.

Again, it’s not about OPness or the use of bugged part of a trait. It is simply the death of a very fun playstyle. Blast finisher at the expense of a dodge seems reasonable enough with a good CD.

It is awesome that the community has made more thread than the mods can merge. The front of ele forum is all about EA.

Clearly they have ele in the spotlight, with the majority of prof changes goes for ele. Dev response in the ranger forum has yet to bear any fruit.

I am quite embarrassed with the personal attacks to that guy. I was looking forward to this patch and disappointed too, but these are not even criticism, just plain hatred.

I’m kind of at a loss too. I used staff heavily in dungeons as support and buffing with fields and Evasive Arcana to combo blast.

Same with me. Please share any alternative build for dungeon support ele.

Here’s a build. Take 4 other people in that dungeon and make sure they know what a “blast finisher” is. Problem solved. Seriously, stop looking at dungeons as if you have to solo them. The selling point of the whole puppy game was team work and stuff. You are not supposed to support everybody all the time, you provide the field, they finish it. It’s THAT simple. It’s also how I’ve been playing the whole time and, strange enough, it works!

Well, if I can chose the people I can go to dungeon with I would, but mostly doing PUGs. The only team work I’ve seen is ressing teammates when downed.

FYI, blast finisher is limited to certain classes with certain skill/weapon and other finishers are nothing compared to blast finisher. Do you expect it to proc as efficient as Evasive Arcana build?

You might say it is broken beyond balance, but only for PvP. Evasive arcana is very fun in PvE and the only way for viable group healing in dungeons (unless you can point it out for me). I guess now I need to reroll to war/guardian shout for playing dungeon support.

Hint : Separate PvE and PvP trait like they do with the skills.

I heard crafting from 1-400 will net you around 10 levels, but does it still stand?

I started crafting at character level (not craft level) 50, artificer from 1-100 but didnt even to gain 1 level.

Anet nerfed exp from crafting?

Unfortunately, I don’t think this is a random mystic reward and I don’t think this has been found yet.

The skin many people saw is I believe the legendary short bow precursor, as it share the same skin as feathers of dwayna.

And I haven’t seen it in TP, if it was another mystic forge random drop, there should be some already with the precursor craze.

Also, there are other weapons related to gods discovered as mystic forge recipe (Tear of Grenth and Melandru’s Staff?). So it is safe to assume these are undiscovered mystic forge recipe.

Trick or Treat NPCs

So, in sylvari sub forum, someone mentioned about sylvari trick or treating NPC. Can someone confirm this?

I thought that there are only 10 ToT NPC, 2 for each race; with Quaggan representing sylvari (You can see 2 NPC in the Halloween camp on every starting area). But then there are more?

Let me know if there are more of these cute seasonal NPC which I hope come back as minis

Dungeoneering for Rangers

I wanted to ask any tips for doing dungeons as a ranger because I feel my ranger doesn’t bring anything to the table when you compare them to other classes when doing dungeons.

Mesmers and guardians with shield bubble, thieves with stealth ress and scorpion wire, etc2.

Is there anything else rangers can do aside pet tanking and damage? Other things that come to mind are only water field and QZ ress.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the glow for armor is based on the skin glow, as such, hair and body mark will still be brighter than the armor.

The combination of T1 and T2 med armor, the armor is not glowing like the hair or AC weapon. The edges of the coat glows like the skin mark.

I had a combination of TA armor, T1 and T2 for medium male. I can confirm T1 and T2 glows, while only the skin color part of TA armor glows. (Anet please make the whole thing glows for TA set)

I suspect that the glows take the bioluminescence value from the character creation. So if you set it low, the glow might not be noticeable. Light color glow is also more noticeable.

Also, I think AC dungeon is the best place to see the glow (my sylvari is glowing like crazy everytime I do dungeon there)

@Crucifer, I have to say it is a really well written feedback. And I agree with you.

The alternating path fix is also a joke, it won’t help make dungeon less grindy. Just create a lockdown, like several instance in a week to fix it.

And I have to disagree with the buff to Magg route. I like the idea of several routes, with alternating difficulty, so those who like more challenge can choose the other route, with balanced rewards.

Now, the dungeons are impossible for PUGs. I can imagine this game will only cater for PVP and the so-called elite guilds.
