Mawdrey Glider would be a great addition! Haven’t seen plant related glider for sylvari (maybe moth wings, but meh)
Reading this thread, I am a bit worried regarding “fixes” that might be implemented to circumvent this. Fixing auto-loot bug would be great, but a more “extreme fix” would not be beneficial to the community as a whole.
@Anet, it is clear that some people just intend to twist the words and rules to reap benefit. Please also take into consideration people who are not part of these groups and understand that the GM team are not suspending people without valid reasons.

Someone in reddit linked this comic, which sums up the situation: https://xkcd.com/1172/
But it is interesting how things are quickly acknowledged when it is a “personal request” from their streamer.
Exactly the title, so don’t be like me who spent few golds to craft some of these for my characters.
I thought this will be a better replacement for my invisible bags, but for whatever reason, it is soulbound. Why is it not account bound (or soulbound on equip?) So far, I think this is the only soulbound bag (not sure).

Hi all,
Just bought a new gaming mouse Logitech G602. I have been playing around for a bit, but I just can’t find the right feel for GW2.
Can anybody share your keybind if you are using the same mouse to play GW2?
Thanks!
As you said, there are 2 “extra” stuff when playing sylvari: (1)you hear mordremoth speak instead of a roar and (2)“things” happens.
(1)I am not sure for voice of Mordremoth, in the lore, only sylvari could hear though.
(2)From my experience, for “things” to happen, sylvari character need to open the instance. Any other player is treated as guest, and “things” happen only to the sylvari commander. Nothing happens to non-commander sylvari.
Going through the story, I enjoyed getting rare weapon skins as part of the reward. One weapon which caught my eye the most is Chak Focus, when wielded it looks like my character is part Chak with wiggly fingers.
This is probably one of the best focus skins in my opinion, it is very difficult to find foci that you “wear” instead of hold. The other focus that I know is similar is only the HoM reward focus. Is there any other that I miss?
Anet, please please make similar designs for future foci! It gives a lot more variety in the weapon design.
It seems that the personal story is bugged, as it doesn’t give the correct mission choice path.
For example: after finishing Apatia’s quest line (Wet Works) and meeting Trehearne back in Fort Trinity, he kept speaking about Tonn. I mean, who the hell is Tonn? You are mixing the wrong dialogue.

Agreed, red panda looks very low res, please do something about it… Please don’t make one of the most loveable creature on earth looks substandard.
Kinda excited about HoT here, but do we know what will happen to the old story content?
Personally I would love to replay the Pact storyline with the uber new Revenant, is it possible? Or all the old vanilla is obsolete once the expansion is out.
I’d rather have long range non-aoe oriented with land trident
This game is almost entirely defense, with offense only throw in in as an aside
Simple fact, look at every overpowered build and strategy we have had since launch, what do they all have in common? Was the healing guardian at launch offense based? How about the cantrip DD bunker ele? The clone/confusion spam memser? Stealth/evade spam thieves? The hambow/stance warriors? Every single one based on their method of preventing, rather than dealing, damage. Low investment, high uptime defensive mechanics (the more passive the better) rule this game with an iron fist.
Why do you think there isn’t a PvP build worth its salt right now that doesn’t give ridiculous uptime on vigor or tons of endurance regen? Why is the warrior the preffered zerker dungeon runner when it is proven that other classes can pull more DPS?
Because those vigor traits are a tiny investment for a ridiculous defensive uptime. The warrior has the perfect storm of passive affects with little to no investment; high health and armor, the most passive healing, the best passive condi-cleanse.
Please tell us more about those amazing defensive builds for PvE.
I’m curious the know as well since every single one of my PvE builds are full zerk pure DPS with little to no damage mitigation skills, except for my Guardian he is full zerk with some defensive utilities cause that is his job.
I believe Conncept is saying that Berserk War are really popular because they can easily obtain good level of defense with very tiny investment. And can spend the rest for damage, thus bringing high dps with good defense.
Other classes have to specialize in damage or defense, but War can produce nearly the same output as other classes on and get more on other area.
The topic is which class is most used in PvE and I have to agree that is the case. War is the most forgiving class with a lot to offer.

Human and Norn are the two general flavor race. Asura, Sylvari and Charr, either you like it or hate it.
Other things that you would want to take note are weapon size and animation. Everything is supersized on a Norn, but you will hardly see daggers on a Asura. Asura also have a unique dodge animation, while Charr a different running animation.
My suggestion is you look around at gw2 armor site and try the races on HoTM as well.
Please bring back the old Air Elemental model. A new mini would be good so people have option. This should be very easy to implement as the model was already in-game.
I like my floating ball of plasma.
1. Elementalist
2. Ranger
3. Necro
Blossoms are very gimmicky, learn to tab-targeting and keep constant awareness of blossoms in your surroundings. After a few bad runs, you will get used to it, heck many players managed to avoid almost all enemies and blossoms in Up path.
Bring back the old Evasive Arcana or more blast finisher.
Way back when, the golden era of Ele bunker, Evasive Arcana gave blast finisher at the end of each dodge. Anet consider this a bug with the reasoning that they don’t like self-initiated combo (pfft), but now they give us blast finisher heal.
I do agree that at that point it needs to be tweaked down, but self-initiated combos bring a lot of diversity to the game. With Evasive Arcana, you traded dodge for combos which brings different style of play and it was sooooo much fun.
The new heal is the step in the right direction.
I had problems with Superior Runes of Ogre as you can’t turn off the effect. In dungeon it will most of the time be more trouble than its worth.
Based on my rock dog, they are as durable as a ranger feline pet, not that useful as damage sponge in dungeons. Damage are negligible (they dont hit hard and hit rate is pretty low against moving target), but Golems do have knockback whirl.
If you love golems, you can always roll an asura and summon one through racial skill.
I would love to switch all my male char sound clips to male sylvari’s, he sounds so posh! cant get enough of him.
I was hoping for a more magical weapons, floating orbs maybe? Trident is also lot cooler than the staff.
Okay, I guess range makes sense, Fiery GS makes me get up close to him after all. Time base wise, I don’t think that’s the case as I had been in a very slow group without triggering his GS.
So, the myth is busted!
Mods are welcome to close the topic.
I would stop playing as soon as I hit 80 and finished personal story. Not even the one time events make me think to go back.
That being said, the era of MMO subscription is over.
I don’t know if this has been discussed before, but is it true that if you use fiery gs (ele elite) when his hp < 50%, it will trigger him to switch to gs as well?
I have not tested this formally, but before one pug told me about this, I used fiery gs elite all the time and he switch to fiery gs a lot of time. After being told, I never put fiery gs vs Ashym and I have yet to see him use it on me.
Can someone confirm?
Quaggan/Kodan are popular. I honestly can’t see them not making Quaggan a race eventually as people love them.
Quaggan is more of a mascot, so I doubt they will be playable, but Quaggan wearing Quaggan backpack……. faint…….. Yes please!
I take issue with a lot of things about the ele profession, but doing a lot of work with them is the main appeal to eles funwise, for me anyway.
Other professions are a snooze festival, including engineers.
This.
I recently dropped my level 40 Ele to reroll a Guardian.
I did the opposite, left my level 30 Guardian for an Ele. I like to constantly switch attunements and I find it much better than weapon switch. Each to their own.
I do agree on equalizing base stat/armor or to somehow make up the difference. It does not seem fair at the current position.
This is a very fun thread, especially because of the profanity filter. Lol!
I believe its O-ree-kal kitten
Edit : Looks like the kitten got me too!

This stuff happens for every game and nearly impossible to avoid. Players will always try to find the most efficient way to do things and in a way create new holy trinity.
I can only pray my favorite class is the flavor of the month on the next patch.
As much as I think it is true, you shouldn’t discredit Anet for making the content viable for ALL professions. Currently, the specialized groups are only limited to either speed runs/higher level fractals.
However, I foresee in the end that the meta-game for PVE will be moving towards DPS/Berzerk with the dodge mechanic as the player become more skilled. It boils down to which group composition deals damage higher/faster unless Anet do something.
Since the fundamental objective in most encounters is the same – reduce hp to zero, you will get bored eventually even if you do not use these as you say… overused tactics.
Edited my post, I hope you get my point. Yes, the objective is the same, kill enemies. But the dev spend their times to make each encounter different. This LoS tactic basically is trying to ignore that flavor and make it to a tank-and-spank.
I am confused how this could be an issue. People are doing smart things in those regards, and none of it is any kind of bug.
Forcing your enemies (especially when there are greater numbers than your own) to funnel into specific locations to take advantage of terrain and their grouping is a pretty intelligent and classic move both in and out of game. The suggestion that it is an issue is fairly silly.
As for reflection, I don’t see why it would be an issue, but I suppose I also don’t care as much as someone suggesting the stacking could be an issue…
My viewpoint is, it trivialized the content. Say, in case of stacking, it takes out certain challenge when facing an encounter to a tank-and-spank. Some example:
- Dredge Fractal boss, you don’t need to face the mob and boss at the same time.
- Fyonna, TA, no more eggs hatching
It makes me think, “What is the point of having two different dungeon when we are doing the same thing on both?”
Sure it is the smart way, but when it is done too many times/everywhere, it just makes me bored(which is not the point of playing a game).

From what I experienced doing dungeons, there are 2 overused tactics (not counting terrain exploits) :
1. LoS or Stacking. Using walls/obstacle to group up enemies. This greatly benefit several melee weapon set which gives high cleaving damage.
2. Reflect projectiles. Currently, some of the boss big damage is in the form of projectiles. While it can also be dodged, reflection is preferable as it gives gives extra, if not big, dps.
These two tactics create preference of certain professions when tackling dungeons. Also, few encounters are losing their flavor as it is now a norm, you are expected to do it.
Is this an issue? Thoughts?
Wow, very nice summary.
I find fire minor traits are just a waste of points. Flame barrier? With ele natural squishiness, I doubt anyone wants to get attacked intentionally. Sunspot is very situational and we get the same trait as Burning Rage in adept major slot, wasting a potential for synergy.
My wishlist is Anet to add +field duration (not only fire) and to modify those +movement speed traits. After the buff on signet of air, none of these trait are that useful anymore.

How come this hasn’t been fixed up yet? The token price is messed up for quite a long time. Dunno how many times I have reported it in game.
I have to ask this, does melee weapon set considered AoE then? For example War GS.
The discussion also mentioned about dynamic events AoE spam fest and I have seen War GS to be very effective in decimating clustered enemies.
In fact, I believe most melee weapon would hit both resurrector and the ressed. So I don’t see why it became an issue. (Hitting downed player with AoE)

The screenshot shows Trinity Torch which have the same model as Beacon of Kryta.

So here’s the problem. Several of the rune traits might be problematic for some situations — I am talking about those that summon pets when hit — , but the only solution is to switch them all altogether.
It is to great to be able to turn off several traits but keeping the rest. Using Superior Runes of the Ogre for example : Turn off (4) that summons pet, but keeping (5) and (6).
And other things is uncontrollable pet mechanics need to be worked on, at least no random trigger please.
That does it for me when Anet limits buffs to 5 entities. (Not sure if its fixed yet)
There’s one time when pet simply takes away buffs from your party member, now since its prioritize party member, you can hardly buff your pet in dungeons.
Is it just me or it feels kind of out of place, the image used as a starting screen for bell choir activity.
What is it anyway? Tyrian constellation?

I experienced the same issue quite recently. I have been using “Best Performance” setting from the launch, but the problem only comes few weeks ago. Not everytime, but very frequently.
Any other tips than lowering display options and flushdns?
I bumped to this bug 2 times and I think this has something to do with how Detha is following the group.
1) The bug happens to me when our group split up to reach cannon area from the trap event. (1 goes to Kholer WP -> bridge, the other run through the right side of the map)
2) 1 person AFK after Kholer (in WP) while 4 of us finish the trap event.
I haven’t tried to reproduced it, but so far, these are the two times Detha bugged for me.
Does this mean Staff Ele is viable again?
Doing dungeons, many people (other class) complained about pets because they simply block the boss mechanic.
For example, lure boss to x, most of the time pets will simply aggro boss to another area. Or when you dont want to lure everything. Pets simply does it badly.
To circumvent this, we can just stop pet from attacking, but it will drop our dps.
And with the latest patch limiting healing/buff to affect 5 at max including pets, can pet get any lackluster?
Yes, it should be easy. Grinding for stat is never tasteful.
This video is hilarious – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htHRErZM7QM&feature=player_embedded
+1, made me laugh so hard and so true!
Overall is fun, but they really don’t need to make it that long.
Karka reinforcement shouldn’t be repeated, same with going up and down in the hive.
The event itself is very nice, but execution is bad. If they don’t have the capacity to house the players doing one time at the same time, they should forget about one time event.
IMO, one time event itself is a very limiting decision which will ALWAYS be criticized.
