CDI-Guilds- Raiding

i don’t want stat requirements to join in a raid, I always hated that in other games. what is the point in doing a raid if you know everyone there could solo everything up until the final boss?

we don’t need new daily achievements for the raids either, that just makes it feel like a job rather than a game.

no new gear tiers,

open and instanced raids should be created. ( we sort of have open world raids already anyhow)

im seeing items listed for less and ordered for a lot less than what its allowing me to post it as.
never had this problem before

also its not allowing me to sell to people with orders about half the time. it was fine a couple of months ago. then somebody decided to prick with something that was not broken

why cant we set our own prices? I cant sell to someone with an order because this kitten thing tells me the lowest price allowed is the lowest listing price…

I don’t want to charge 20 gold for something I think is only worth 2…

then I have massive hordes of stuff people want to buy apparently, but it forces me to list it for a price nobody in their right mind is going to give..

Lets talk about the new Gem conversion [Merged]

poisonality.8972

theres problems with the conversion. just as an example
you need 10 gems, to get them all at once you pay say 400 gold. that’s 40 gold a gem
but if you got the gems one at a time, you could get them for 36 gold per gem

I once got almost double the gems that entering in 80 gold could get me by buying them 3 at a time.

it works something like this for example. 5 gold gets you 1 gem, 6 gold gets you 1 gem as well, but 6 gold and a few silver gets you two….and so on

raids in other games like rift were fun because after you have done them a number of times you can run with people that never done it, I ran dungeons hundreds of times that offered nothing I needed just to help people that did need the drops we had fun even when we failed

they don’t have to offer anything better, just another path to get what we can already. some of us just enjoy that kind of thing. I would do them even if there were no drops

I have been playing this game for a year or so now, and im still not sure I have ever taken part in “the living story”…maybe I have, or maybe those were just quests that always exist, hell who knows. that’s part of the reason I keep taking 2-3 month breaks from the game.

im playing a single player game that just happens to have random people pop in from time to time, im grinding for 100 different things, nooo clue if the quests im doing are part of this ever changing story the devs are trying to tell or if they are static quests that always exist and always will.

then when I do take a break, and come back I have no desire to join the story anyhow because I have already apparently missed 90% of it already, have no idea wtf is going on and no longer care wtf is going on. my entire playtime in this game has consisted of me (and sometimes one friend of mine) running around killing random stuff and selling the drops or salvage.

I only want one set of gear that looks somewhat decent per character, I don’t need 3 weapon sets, 5 costumes, and an inventory of crap that doesn’t help me kill any faster or get any more wealthy.

about the coffee, I have seen it lol although thats a bit of a derail. but no, I understood your point entirely, I have a different opinion

edit: oops, hit the post button on accident. anyhow to get a number on those that are complaining you would have to go in game because not very many actually use these forums compared to the total playerbase, and some remain silent and hope for the vocal ones to be loud enough to make a change. nobody knows how many want changes made, or more of the same.

all we are doing (you included) are offering opinions. there is no need to get a chip on your shoulder about it on either side of the discussion

you know why some (not most) that complain are not spending money?

Because the forums attract “hardcore” players who devote most of their free time to playing the game (aka grinding). By grinding the game, they accumulate in-game currency which Anet generously allows them to trade for gems instead of spending cash.

If you choose not to spend money on the game because you don’t think it’s worth spending money on, so be it. But a lot of players have spent $60 on a product that they enjoyed over hundreds of hours, when they could have spent that same money on a meal for two and enjoyed it for a single evening. Then they have the nerve to tell the devs to disobey their bosses and give them orders and expect the devs to follow those orders (some of which directly conflict with other orders from other players) immediately and without question.

I’d like to see these people go to a restaurant and order dinner, then go back the next day and claim that they have the right to order around the waitstaff because they spent so much money the night before that they should pretty much own the place. See how far that gets them.

Spend $60 or $600 or $6000, it still doesn’t give you the right to make demands, you got what you paid for and the devs throw free stuff at you every two weeks besides.

if they expect us to keep spending, then yes, we do have the right to make demands. nothing I read said anything about disobeying a boss, we have told them let the big-wigs know they suck, the policy sucks, and many other aspects of the forums, communication, updates and such suck just as much.
I’m not sure if you have ever been very high up in a company but when large portions of your customers are complaining, its time for a change.

And you’re not helping things at all.

You know what will also cause the dev’s to lose their jobs? Being laid off because the game goes broke.

That’s amusing.

This game doesn’t have a monthly sub option. Most of the people complaining here don’t spend money on the game. Most of the people spending money on the game are not complaining.

Your arguments are not going to have any effect on Anet/NCSoft revenue, and therefore have little chance of having an effect on anyone who isn’t responding here. That includes both the people spending money on the game and the bosses who make the rules.

you know why some (not most) that complain are not spending money? for many of the same reasons I have not in a long time. they are
1. unhappy with the game / do not play enough for the gems to be worth it
2. unhappy with the company
3. think that it is total BS to spend 10 bucks on gems for something like a character slot, one in which they may spend maybe even more than 100 more on over the next few months.
4. are not adults.

not sure where you found our bank and credit statements but I have spent well…it is none of anyone’s business what I have spent, or even if I had just got the game and never spent another dime, I am still a customer the same as we all are.

Oh my god! Progress!

how that much time, effort, and money could be put into such garbage is mind boggling

it is then pointless to communicate with us at all, I prefer the entire staff go back into hiding than just keep repeating “sorry, no comment”..you guys sound like government officials.

About that blix exploit....

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

poisonality.8972

I agree with them fixing it if it was not intended to work this way, but it was made to work this way, they just forgot the fact that players would use it to their advantage. so this is not a fix, it is a way to cut back on farming again.. I don’t see why anyone would care if 50-100 even a thousand other players were using this to make gold, it was not hurting anyone.

never ran it myself, but to those that got in on it early, grats. the reason for these “exploits” is the gem store, nobody wants to have to pay more money just to make one more character. the whole argument about them not wanting you to farm is BS, because the only way you are going to get what you want is to farm..its an MMO..that is simply the way it is. dailies and monthly achievements are farming, loot is farming, crafting is all about farming…
I would be buying gems often if they were not trying to force you to resort to buying them. this company has went down hill ever since nightfall

i think that whoever is doing it is likely not a hacker. seems to be a script-kiddie – using tools that others have written and all is needed is a little button pushing.

there are distributions of linux with the tools already part of it to perform a DoS attack. a botnet is not really needed. though its helpful. i doubt the attacker could afford its rental on his/her pocket money.
.

why would he need to rent? setting up a botnet is one of the easiest things in the world to do, and can be done in a couple of weeks, or even days. a DoS attack wouldn’t take all of these games down, especially at the same time, hell a regular DoS attack is nothing but a few minutes of an annoyance for even a home PC…….

as far as these guys getting in trouble, or guy, I doubt it. its not impossible to trace, its against the law, but hardly anything is ever done about it. its been this way since ohhhhh…..91?
