Shall we give Kits to all other professions so they can properly utilize Rune of the Engineer?

Wow, as if the treatment of Engineers wasn’t enough of a kitten at least you made your feelings clear. How about this? you give every other class bundles, then give us engi’s a way to change weapons without wasting a slot skill? You know like everyone else? (eles have attunement, everyone else can change weapons)

I don’t know if this has been covered, but since the search function never seems to work for me I thought I’d ask. I recently made Predator for my engi, as he is my main. Basically what I want to know is are there any plans to make the visual effects from predator stay on when holding a kit. 90% of the time I’m using a kit as I’m guessing most engineers are, and would like to see some kind of effect for this. I’m guessing this isn’t high up on ANET’s priority list but does anyone know if it even is there?

interesting, a couple of minutes ago there was a post by an IRON guy complaining about a BG commander talking bad to him. He posted a screen shot as proof. I noticed one of his guildees was asking a fellow member of the guild if he was on BG. wonder why this was taken down?

My two cents.

I think most of us transfers from gw1 resent the living story because we think “hey they could bypass this stuff and be working on an expansion” and though I do like most of the living story, none of it compares to visiting my old stomping grounds in Cantha or Elona. There is so much potential there it makes me salivate,

I just despise when posters presume to speak for me. I hardly doubt you know 1% of the players who came from GW1, much less do posters have the right to suggest what “most” of us want. I see this happening all over the forums, and its really starting to get old. I like the living story(well a lot of it anyway), and I feel all of this talk about expansions is foolish. They have already explained that I do not need to purchase an expansion disc for them to add a new race, class, or land mass.

Thats why I used words like THINK and MOST. based on what I have seen on these forums, and the cross sections of players I have talked to about this, I stand by that. I apologize if you think I am trying to talk for you. I am not

My two cents.

So after reading through these forums I thought I’d give my suggestions, observations etc.

First the good, this game is absolutely stunning! Almost every area has interesting features and give me reasons to go there. I also like how open the world is, you have many options to keep yourself busy, I was never really into achievements before, but I’m getting close to hitting 10k and really enjoy this aspect. The LFG tool is great, and a much needed addition to this game.

Some things I find good and bad. For example living story. I’ve heard people on here complain endlessly about the LS, but for the most part I find it enjoyable. I played GW1 for 5 years and find the holiday events here much more fun. I also like the new dungeon paths, teq etc. Though I do see problems here. I’m not a hardcore gamer, but in a good party I can hold my own. Some members of my guild are more casual and they like to do these things too, so the runs through the Aetherblade dungeon (for example) become quite painful. I would like to see a variable difficulty mode. I enjoy the teq battle immensely, I’m from blackgate, and It feels great to lead (or just join) my server in battle. But on the other hand Teq is now a wasteland, and it’s hard to get the people together to do it, especially with the new WvW season. If I were to change one thing about it, it would be to get rid of the poison for below a certain number of players (not at release but now that the shininess of the event has worn off) As it is now when teq pops most people warp in, see no organization and leave. If it wasn’t for the almost insta-kill poison we would probably have more people attempt it.

Finally some suggestions, most of which I’ve seen here already but would like to reiterate. As a guild leader and a long time GW1 player, I really miss the guild hall and associated guild functions. I would like to be able to see when my people last logged in, repped, and so on. The guild hall in guild wars one was like our home. I for one am really looking forward to getting one here and personalizing it.

The first year birthday presents were one of the low points in the game in my opinion, I started playing this game in beta and got the bright idea to make all of my characters the first weekend. I figured I’d get birthday presents quicker and thought I was so smart. Unfortunately by the time a year had rolled around all my characters were around lvl 80 (none lower than 70) so now I have a bunch of minis I can do nothing with, and 6-7 scrolls to bump characters up to level 20, which do me no good.

And last of all I really, really want more races/professions. I could use some of my scrolls from above and I love learning the ins and outs of each profession.

There are of course other little things, like hiding the engi back kits, but what I’ve listed above are the most important things that I as a daily player would like to see.

Also for my fellow gamers out there I get kinda bummed out by all the negativity here, I know that is a side effect of the anonymity of the internet, but please remember the devs are doing new things here, and learning from what happens just like we are. I hope (and believe) they are listening to our input on what works and what doesn’t and will use it to make the future updates better.

I know there have been a ton of topics about being able to hide your backpieces, and I really want to be able to do this. Yesterday I was doing the Golem event and standing off to the side throwing grenades, there was an engineer right next to me doing the same, but he didn’t have the grenade kit on his back. When I saw this I thought “oh cool, there must be a way to hide backpieces now” I searched the internet and could find nothing. I wish I had asked him how he did it, but I didn’t. Anyway my question is, how is this done, or am I somehow seeing things?

Let me save you the trouble of reading the blog fellow players… basically it says “hey guys you know that MF stuff you spent laurels, commendations, gold, and crafting materials on? yeah it’s worthless now and you’re getting nothing back. hahaha hahaha hahaha”

Ok so I just kinda glanced over all the posts, but what I got from all this, my MF armor is now useless. on my characters that have magic find armor, that is my secondary set, basically a pve set that I use for world events, etc. I have better armor that I use for WvW or dungeons, or anywhere that it actually needed. So my armor that I only use for MF, will become account bound, and I get to choose a stat? That does me absolutely no good. I spent gold, and crafting materials making several sets of MF equipment, and Anet is telling me that it’s all garbage. I know it’s hard to make everyone happy, but still, I guessing alot of people are in the same boat as me, and aren’t going to ever use this armor again. I just don’t understand why this seemed like a good idea.

What I don’t understand, and maybe you can explain this to me, is why does this bother you? Personally I love Jumping puzzles, and have done them all but I understand that there are people who for whatever reason can’t do them. Why in the world would you want to diminish their playing experience? I’ve used my mesmer more than once to help a guildie or even a stranger with jumping puzzles. Honestly it just seems like you’re bitter about something and want these people punished. Your suggestion confounds me because not only does it do absolutely nothing good for anyone, it is bad for some people. IT sounds like you’re bitter because they get the same rewards as you without the effort, but for some people jumping in this game is the worst aspect.
