Every post here supporting WULD has just cherry picked example match ups that would’ve benefited from it, most of which were due to transfers (which won’t be happening as frequently or in such large numbers), completing ignoring the fact that it would destroy match ups every other weeks due to the red server constantly being 2 tiers below the green one. It’s never going to happen.

We had a decent amount of oceanic guilds interested, but they all ended up going to JQ or SoS. There were tears. We do a pretty good job holding out despite the big coverage gap though.

BG and FA, i sincerely hope you guys pulverize TC into tiny bits of RP’r dust. I’ve never played against a server that constantly complains so much about everything. Needless to say it was a great joy spawn camping them to the extreme ( trebs, ballistas, shame ram trains and barricades). I can trully understand why FA detests TC so much now that i’ve played against them.

Oddly, the first time SOR faced them, i dont recall them being this way.

It’s too bad the rest of your guild can keep it classy only to have you ruin it.

This was supposed to be addressed in December, then got pushed back, and now it’s on the same level as ranger fixes.

It would also explain why you don’t see this problem on Friday reset, but it gets worse and worse as the week goes on.

Well, this thread stopped being stupid for like a page. Glad to see that it ended and is back on track now to see who the biggest troll is.

Breakouts made holding the bottom two towers for the defending server pointless unless they were already just crushing the competition. It really didn’t solve the issue and just made things frustrating for anybody playing home borderland defense.

TC may have lost the fight, but I think Eury won us the scoreboard posting contest. SoR needs to get their stuff together!

Are we seriously passive aggressively accusing other servers of DDOSing TS servers now? For the love of god, do I really need to point out how stupid that is? SoR is winning by 150k and will be blue next week in T1, which, from what I hear, was the plan all along. Just enjoy your victory.

I’m also pretty sure TC is happy about the rating reset because it means we’ll be shuffled into a more balanced match-up faster, and not because of anything related to SoR. Not all of us care about being a T1 server.

Really, this match-up thread should really just be closed. SBI seems to be the only server that can keep it classy now.

There is no server thats made it further than T3 on their own including TC.

I’d like to hear what transfers TC got to get them from T3 to T2. TC was always one of the hardest, if not the hardest, server to get in to due to being full, and we didn’t gain any guilds that suddenly changed us from a T3 to a T2 server. Unless you have an example to prove me wrong (which is possible), I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t try to write our server’s history for us.

You have to keep in mind that we were body blocking in hills against a zerg 1.5 to 2 times our size for about 2 hours by then. Can’t be all rainbows and sunshine at that point. For what it’s worth, it was only two people.

Today, about 1pm central US time, an arrow cart hack was used while TC was assaulting Ogrewatch Tower in EB. I didn’t see what guild(as I was inside) nor did I even see the ac.

Basically I was getting hit dead center with an ac while well behind the tower gate. Apparently it’s some zoom hack or something similar, I don’t know. Anyway, thought whatever TC commander that was there would like to know.

SoR does this literally every day. It’s not a hack. This is like the fifth time we’ve had someone come screaming hack at the slightest thing.

Tempers are flaring up a bit because of the state of the match-up, and honestly, I imagine it’s hard to find it fun on all sides, especially given how competitive the tier was when we first entered it. Regardless, I think it’s safe to say that those in TC still playing are picking up a lot of new tricks and relearning a lot of things that may have been forgotten in the weeks that we dominated T3.

To TC, you gentlemen started out as honorable combatants, but as the weeks have gone on and you have received more transfers, your players seem to be made up more and more of angry children. Players taunting downed opponents when it was 5 to 1, camping the last leg of JP’s and then taunting after you manage to kill folks etc. Part of the beauty of WvW in GW2 is the comradery, let’s not lose that and turn into 13 year olds that try and tea bag people because it’s just so “lawlerskate funnies!1.”

I wish I were talking about an isolated incident. It’s really widespread… If you see people doing it, give them a public tongue-lashing. Were going to have to shame these people until they’re afraid to do it.

This always makes me laugh. Should I come here every time I get spam emoted at when I get killed by 10+ people? Or when I go to a JP and find it camped by SoR?

The irony here is amazing.

I don’t really think any guilds should be ashamed of or accused of “abusing” culling. It’s just how the game is. And it’ll hopefully be a moot point in a month.

What I’ve found works best is if the guilds and individuals interested in the server came onto our mumble and chatted for a short while. It’s much easier to give you an idea of the server over voice chat. We’ve done this for several guilds already, and while not all of them chose to come to TC in the end, they’ve all been glad that they had the talk. As to KH I am glad you guys went to TC. TC had more forum trolls than any other server we ever fought and now you guys would fit right in there. I really hope we are faced in battle again soon.

This is hilarious. Do I need to link the old match-up threads? How many times did Derv troll the TC/FA/CD threads talking about how no one on the other servers had skill and it was all just numbers, and how GODS were the masters of the universe? How many pages of got filled up with complaints about being outnumbered? It’s like when FA said in their current match-up thread that the “dolyak event” was just a couple of random FA who decided in the spur of the moment to attack, and TC were the big bad bullies looking for an excuse to retaliate (as if any server needs an excuse to go out there and WvW) – completely ignoring the trolling forum posts from the two GUILDS responsible about how they did it on purpose and would do it again.

TC has and always will have forum trolls but the large majority of every match-up thread was just responses to crying about losing. The funny part is that I went to the score site and looked up the old tier scores for fun earlier today and the first few weeks were incredibly close. FA defeated themselves convincing each other that they couldn’t win. Even your commanders were telling me how people just stopped showing up despite the close scores the first two weeks.

Either way, you guys are making a serious effort to rewrite history. I just wish you’d keep it to your own match-up threads.

No doubt is TC one of the best servers out there but personally I would join SoR ive been on a couple servers and SoR is the only one that has really exceeded my expectations. Even to the point where we organized a HUGE WvW event that is going on as we speak. PvE is great as well we are planning some events for that as well. Huge dungeon races in about a month but no one knows yet i have to farm a crap load of gold for the prizes.

SoR has some great guilds, but it’s not going to be in T2 long and I’m assuming their guild is an NA guild, which I’ve been told repeatedly that SoR does not need or want any more of. It’s also pretty poor taste to try to hijack a guild thinking of going to your current WvW competition for this week and the next when your server already massively outnumbers everyone.

Since every server just went to very high, I’m going to assume the answer to my own question is “Yes”.

Population caps just increased. If your guild has decided on moving, now is the best time to do it.

If anyone from SoR has been patronizing or falsely sympathetic to you TC, I truly apologize. You can ask anyone on my server that I havent slept more than 2 hours a day for 4 weeks now, purely because of trying to fight tooth and nail to hold ground in one map when out coveraged. I know how you feel, I truly do. If your community leaders have ANY questions/advice on how to organize mass logoffs so you guys can get coverage in, I’d be more than willing to shoot you all ideas. If you wish for it, that is. I wish not to force advice on anyone who feels they have it under control.

As for the whole beating down hills gate without siege..We dropped a few, but your mortar shots are 100% spot on, props to the guy manning that inner one. Also, we were just clearing outer siege for a golem..I did not expect people to beat the gate down.

Which one of you is the guardian commander with sunrise? I tried inviting/joining on them after the door man mode/golem extravaganza to register the door union’s complaint in person, but they were in a full group. So sad.

Just bumping this back up top because it’s a really important issue for a lot of guilds and servers right now. An answer of some kind would really help them plan for the future.

TC has a very stable population due to it’s unofficial RP nature, and that population will likely keep us from dropping any lower than T3 once the new super-servers move up to their correct places. We’ve also gotten a few WvW guilds from other servers transfer in during the few slots where we show up at Very High population. In short, both the PvE and WvW side of the server is very much alive and I think it would fit your criteria nicely.

Unfortunately, as Random said, the biggest worry would be getting into the server. So far we’ve had a few times where the server drops down to very high every day, so the earlier you start the better the chance. We’ve also been coordinating blackouts throughout the week. Feel free to PM or whisper me in game if you have any more questions.

I don’t get what arguing about this is going to do. SoR is going to do whatever they feel is best for their server, and TC and SBI should focus on doing what’s best for theirs (in TC’s case, getting the server pop below full for more than 2 minutes at a time would be a start, we’ve got a lot of people looking to transfer in who haven’t been able to). I’m sure everyone has their own opinions on what’s going on, and not all of it is going to be pie and cakes, but it’s all been hashed out and it’s pretty obvious no convincing is going to happen.

To the SoR guys, the door union called and they want to talk. They prefer rams and not 50 people beating them down with sheer rage. We prefer that too.

The unfortunate part is that a lot of people started arguing about how it didn’t work and such in LA, so we (TC) don’t even know how many people did it outside of the guilds that committed.

I think there’s a lot of drama and overreacting in this thread. I’m on Piken and have played the entire week and weekend and I never wait more than 20 at max for a queue. Piken has slowly been rising rank and sure there will be server hoppers but so what, Piken has a solid community that sticks with the server and it’s also the only European RP server which brings a lot of maturity and a nice atmosphere in Divinity Reach and other cities that other servers don’t have.

Going to an American server is also no option for any serious pvp’er unless you consider fighting tower npc’s while your enemy players aren’t yet home as pvp.

This might be what it appears to be on Piken, but being part of the WvW community, on the forums, contacts in the guild etc, unfortunately most of the WvW guilds that made our server what it is, are leaving the server due to the horrendous Q’s. Without the guild raids, the server itself will fall down the rankings rapidly, and the server community will fall apart. Such a shame, but thats band wagoners for you the damage is done.

I can’t find the original post to quote, but the thing about American servers really isn’t true. A lot of the top 2 or 3 tier servers have pretty good European coverage, so joining the few servers up there without would give you plenty of opponents to fight against.

Hi, I am a guild mate of Rhongo, and he just got banned again three days after getting this incident resolved. He has asked me to post this on this thread:

Hi Gaile – so my previous ticket (130118-002396 – closed and resolved and account restored) was RESOLVED and my account RESTORED.

However again today while in-game I am booted with the same message (present ticket that is unresolved: 130121-002098).

I am extremely disappointed that this has happened again, included below are some of the reasons I put in my previous ticket that was resolved:
“1) I pre-purchased the Deluxe Edition
2) I purchased Gems from the BLTC with RL money
3) My main has a Legendary Weapon equipped (i.e. 100% map completion / Crafting / WvW / etc. and non-tradeable – do bots do that?)
4) If you check my play log, it is 99% in WvW, doing productive things (not killing tonnes of Krait in the Lake in the Borderlands as bots used to, I don’t see them anymore)
5) The remaining 1% I am not farming things in PVE, but perhaps in Divinity’s Reach doing light RP
6) If needed, I can (reluctantly) ask some of the people I have sent gold to, to corroborate the above (many a time when I send gold/items to people, I explicitly prefer to keep it confidential)
7) Last week I crafted an alt (Mesmer) to level 80 in one day, not sure if this was considered fishy behavior (I did this due to WvW needs in my guild and server)”

The topic pretty much says it all. A lot of people are still trying to move around to finalize where they want to play, be it for PvE, WvW, or whatnot, and it’s sometimes hard getting into the server where all your friends have settled. Will server caps be raised again before the 28th?

The bad blood with CD goes back to a dolyak parade. Yes, really. Some individuals decided to have a roleplaying event wherein they designated a dolyak as nearing retirement. During the parade, they (as well as the dolyak) were randomly killed by some FA players. In retaliation, Tarnished Coast and Crystal Desert spent the rest of the reset openly double teaming FA.

This is entirely wrong. Actually, the dolyak was not nearing retirement. There was no ‘role-playing’ involved in the sense where we were NOT pretending we were real yaks, or battle hardened escorts, or whatever. We just wanted to walk with it around the map, explode fireworks, then have a massive brawl. Also, the Dolyak and one escort survived and went all the way to its final destination.

One TC guild decided to camp FA – it just happened to be PiNK which is a very large guild. They had a commander and many members in the yak parade. In fact, in the screencaps from TC’s end, there were 6 commanders in the parade that I could see. And after they took the entire FA map, they came and took the entire CD map as well. My guild leader actually yelled at me for causing armageddon because they kept wiping all the maps during their primetime for several days afterward.

Also, it’s not that some FA “randomly” killed the yak. One, maybe two, FA guilds walked up to the event, knowing it was happening because their own server-mates were advertising the event and asking people to not attack, then set down ballistas and killed everyone. When people complained on the forums, they bragged endlessly about it, and said that they’d do it over and over again.

This happened on a Wednesday, and TC wiped the maps the next night on Thursday, CD BL included, so “rest of the reset” is technically correct but also misleading, and it’s hardly any kind of double teaming since CD got wiped off the map too.

Those hacks man. How do thieves works. Going to jail.

PS: The thief suicided because TC was leaving the map.

I don’t think it’s bad at all. PS is having queue problems during the European prime time, TC has the opposite problem, I’m pretty sure our queues teleport you back in time before it puts you into WvW during that time slot. All the people posting here have been doing is offering a solution for the RP/WvW guilds that wanted to go to PS but can’t because of queues.

Of course, this assumes that this isn’t some kind of psychological trick to get more guilds. I have no clue anymore.

I didn’t say that my experience was the norm, it was an exception, which I’ve noticed since we got into T2. I used to example to illustrate the fact that TC has a few bad apples too and my anecdotal experience is that we didn’t have those earlier.

For the specific example, I didn’t think to take screenshots at the time to forward to the guild leader; I will be sure to do that next time. Without screenshots, I’m not going to accuse anyone by name. But my example still stands as an illustration of a problem.

I don’t see how you go from that to implying that I’m driving WvWers away from TC. Or do you think most people are so delusional they really think that there aren’t kitten on every server and that the number of kitten in WvW seems to be not proportional to the server’s standing in the rankings?

And sorry, I don’t agree with you that I shouldn’t say anything at all unless I take names. If you think I’m actively trying to damage our server using a figment of my imagination, I can’t help your point of view.

You didn’t say it was an exception either until this reply. Either way, there was zero reason to post it on a public forum, and doubly so to do so, then say you weren’t going to name names, then drop a ton of hints. Even without screenshots, every WvW guild leader/officer on TC would be willing to hear you out and investigate. Lastly, I guess using the word “actively” may have been a stretch, but very few guilds want to go to a server that prefers to be in lower tiers and complains frequently about how bad their community has gotten and how it didn’t used to be this way, which, by the way, I still don’t agree with. You also shouldn’t feel like that’s directed completely at you either, because it isn’t – plenty of people have been doing it and it really is counterproductive.

In the end, everyone can post what they want to, all I’m giving is my two cents on why it may not be great for the server.

A morning in the last week ago I saw someone wearing the tag of one of the more respected guilds on TC outright insult, abuse and heckle a teammate in WvW map chat for a good 30 minutes because the guy at the receiving end actually called strategy when nobody stepped up to lead in the absence of commanders in EB and we lost a keep. The guy dishing out the abuse didn’t squeak during the defense, but the vitriol he poured out after was astounding. I’m not going to name the person or the clan (lets just say this guild’s name comes up frequently whenever anyone distributes accolades for TC). This experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

This would have never happened when TC was T4/T5.

If you weren’t going to name names, then you shouldn’t bring it up to begin with. As it is now, it’s just going to leave everyone reading this (from TC) guessing and likely start a bunch of rumors. And also, everyone who says “People only started yelling when we got into T2” makes me question if they ever WvWed when TC was in T4/5. Relatively, the community has gotten much much better since then. The chat in /team /map has no more yellers now than it did when we were in T3. The only difference is people notice and harp on it more because we’re not winning.

This is a very delicate time for WvW across all servers, with most servers doing their best to attract as many solid WvW guilds to them as possible. TC is the only server in the top 3 tiers actively driving them away. Which is fine I guess, but everyone lives with the consequences.
