Teammate DCs for half the match, comes back at the end and just dies constantly feeding enemy team points, I thought there was a system where u don’t lose a pip if someone DCs?
So I made my charr revenant today, when I got into the world I looked really small, like I stood next to a human and was barely taller than them, which was weird since I always set my charrs to max size. So I got my friend to get his huge charr he made a year ago to compare, and it was tiny, I swapped to my other charr, tiny. I thought it might be something with the camera but I haven’t changed my FoV or anything and by comparing to other races I’m convinced I’m way smaller than I should be, this is affecting all my charrs and my friend’s… Am I going insane or is anyone else getting this??
Update: Compared screenshots to ones before expansion… 100% definately smaller this is distressing invested so much money on my main charr and its meaningless to me if its now stuck being tiny forever plz fix

I’m queuing solo and just got put against the same pre made 3 times in a row I thought the system was changed to only put premades vs premades or like 3+2 with 4+1?
I understand that the odd pugs v premade has to happen (well it doesn’t you could split queues but that would be fair we cant have that), but this is stupid having to endure 3 matches of people who only gank with naturally better rotations due to voice comms and running from even fights and zerging me down later, I enjoy the chaos of pug battles not gank wars 2 please fix.
Also this is prime time not some obscure hour.
Erm I eat meta builds for breakfast on a regular basis it’s just it gets boring after a while cos once I beat them once in a match they all start running away from me unless it’s 2v1 or greater, fgs such skill yea. Keep telling yourselves ur good players not at all being carried by passive easy to play builds
.
Oh so you’re resorting to questioning my skill are you now? You have no idea how lucky you are that you’re on NA.. I have probably played every common and less common build in existence on all classes for multiple hours. What do I destroy the most with? The three celestials and the common zerker builds (shatter mes, medi guard, thief). Yes OFC you can play them skillfully but the problem is you can still play them badly and get away with it. The difference between a shoutbow who can properly use his intelligence sigil and one who can’t is minimal. But the difference between a scepter dagger fresh air ele who can pull off a full, proper rotation and one who can’t even tell when his air is off cooldown is MASSIVE. One will one shot, one will get oneshotted. If you really think you are a good player cos u can weapon swap on cheese bow before your bow 3 hits I feel sorry for you. Anyway I knew I was derailing this thread a bit but this has gone way too far and I need to sleep. Have fun indoctrinated meta worshipper cheeseplays!
I can play on eu.
Great counter to my argument there… Cos I totally wanna see how amazing you are at celestial ele.
But if you insist… Where and when?

Are people upset that there is a list of functional builds on the internet and people can go there and see them? xD Wow.. Almost as bad as the “TS is unethical” guy.
Ur sidelining my argument.. My problem isn’t so much metabattle as it is the fact a dev would sooner reccomend the website rather than balancing the game so newbies don’t have to play passive cheese to feel as if they are playing well…
I’m not sidelining your argument, I’m belittling it. Metabattle is a resource that changes with the meta – what youre saying is “Don’t tell them about the library until it stocks books I like.”
No.
I’m saying it’s wrong if the librarian is going “oh ignore all this complex stuff all you ever need to be successful is right here”. And then showing them a kids’ section which is what is making the library unpopular because all the little brats go there and disrupt the intelligent people in the other sections with their annoying kitten. Yet it’s effective in making their parents and themselves think they are studying and getting good.

TIL getting outplayed is fighting a celestial running in circles on the point spamming random buttons 1v1 until the group shows up to kill you with random sigil procs.
Also it’s you’re not a very nice person.

I can blame them… But that’s not what I’m doing here I’m blaming metabattle for handing them builds on a plate. At least before they had to do some digging and then end up with old or competing versions of the same build to weigh up for themselves. Metabattle is “play this its better” and now a dev is “helping” a new player by essentially saying “don’t even try do things ur own way here have this and you never have to think for yourself again”
That topic should be mentioned here because that’s why I think it’s unbeleivable that a dev would endorse metabattle…
It’s not just used by beginners. The vast majority run exact copies of those builds and destroy diversity, it is killing the game and will continue to do so until there are just 5 viable lumps of cheese any skill level can play with ease, and it seems anet are fine with this.
Hmm lets see – every single beautifully crafted build that has ever been put on there has been reduced to disgusting passive cheese, a lot of its “tips” are borderline exploits and it has destroyed build diversity.
I mean pirate bay has some nice movies but…
DID SOMEONE FROM ANET JUST RECCOMEND METABATTLE?!
Jebus digging your own grave just wasn’t enough? Have to buy the coffin jump in it and scoot your way into the grave like a canoe too rofl.
Celestial ele crying about passive play LOL.
Step 1: Unlock Glider
Step 2: Find enemies
Step 3: Spam spacebar on said enemies
Step 4: Enjoy the not-quite-as-painful-as-hammer-but-still-painful dps from the aoe attack you get every time glider is stowed.
Step 5: Prophet

Can all u idiots who somehow think this is a good or somehow necessary thing plz kitten if anet even see one positive post they will kid themselves into thinking they did a good job and that’s it redundant weapon forever. How can u be stupid enough to think this somehow looks better or is somehow a dps boost. Nobody stowed it, and they managed to nerf Lightning whip without kitten ing the animation or gimping the normal dps output of the skill, hell it’s meta for dungeon speed runs atm when conjures aren’t up. Mesmers exploit stow, I even know fresh air eles who have started stow casting arc lighting during downtime if they mess up their rotation for extra healing. Find me a forum post moaning about an insane stow casting necro instantly applying 25 vuln to everything and 1shotting it whilst getting stupid amounts of passive healing from leech traits.
No I’m not sorry for the rant until anet are sorry for giving my necros a bone/ nerve related disease in their arm I will probably get banned for mentioning.
Yea I’m pretty sure this subforum has the name revenant CDI on dev PCs or some kitten.

(edited by shadaux.5192)
Agreed, with terror where it is atm 2 very nice traits which have finally been made viable are NEVER getting used….
For a main yes, but it sux for peeps like me who have a ton of other chars sat at under 10% map completion who are used heavily but only in wvw and pvp (not that the latter is affected). It’s kinda bs force feeding us 2 year old content before we can do what we enjoy… But hey ho it’s a few hours I can endure that but having to put up with necro and it’s useless traits still around and the only good ones now in the same spots? No ty
But do you actually NEED every single trait/skill in the whole game? Most people having one or two builds, not four or five.
The HPs you get for simply being lvl 80 will be enough for multiple different builds.
Buildcrafting is my favourite part of the game, I have 3 sets of armour on most chars so yes, I need most of the traits. But yea I’m hoping lvl 80 gives a decent amount of unlocks.
I was STUNNED you have to run YET again threw old content to get mastery points ( old skill challenges ) 2 1/2 years and they still want us to recycle old content, this is not the same team whom made GW1.
Except that you don’t.
If you have already done them before the system goes live they will be given retroactively. So if you have done 65 skill challenges (and are lvl 80) before the update you will have enough HPs to unlock everything of the core specializations.

I was really looking forward to getting the expansion but now I know my 2 necro pvp builds are getting nerfed to the underworld whilst every other class gets insane buffs I’ve decided I don’t wanna
.
So I’m just curious as to if I get to keep the old trait system when HoT drops so I can continue to fight with some dignity rather than getting pigeonholed into cheese celestial ai pew pew meta? Thx <3
I think calling it a power necro has confused you, the main aim of the build is to gain death shroud RAPIDLY, as in under 10 seconds every time so you can get back into it as soon as the cooldown ends. As amazing as staff is it does not present the necessary skills to do this.
Scepter is not there for the damage, that is what death shroud is for in this build, another dps weapon isnt all that helpful when you are going to be using it for less than 5 seconds after swapping out of/into axe warhorn before going DS. As for the immob on dagger, unlike what is sadly an incredibly high proportion of this game’s community, when I see something broken/stupidly OP I don’t go EXPLOIT THE CRAP OUT OF IT! LOLOLOLOL, same reason I try to avoid celestial. But I have already said if you want to use a dagger I aint gonna try stop you or hold anything against you, Scepter’s #3 skill is actually incredibly strong if used at the right time.
Another reason not to use energy sigils is you cannot weapon swap in death shroud, where you will be spending a vast majority of your time, like I said this is a skilled build. its better to learn how to effectively close range kite (from what I gather, sorry if i misinterpreted you but Brandon says it is not possible to kite at 600 range, it is, especially when you are only doing it for 10 or so seconds, positioning and movement beats getting carried by extra dodges, and using wail of doom is exactly how I stop resess/stomps, its range is 600, I’m not scared of melee and if downed people are around its hardly dangerous to get close anyway, don’t forget spectral grasp, 1200 range, buggy I admit it but its short cd makes it a great way to save downed people or stop a res).
I already play with a team as a matter of fact, over the last few days we have won the vast majority of our matches. Like I said multiple times already this does not play like a power necro. I paintrain with a shatter mesmer and/or a s/d thief, both synergise great, I get up in people’s faces with deathshroud, but they will still be so focused on avoiding shatters and the theif that they forget about the life blasts slamming into them. I will normally stay on far or close points, if a theif, shatter mes, medi guard or ranger show up, I take them out 90% of the time, the beauty of this build is the fact people get complacent about necros, thinking I’m the standard power or just think I have no idea what I’m doing due to my bizarre weapon choices, and then they find I have seemingly infinite amounts of deathshroud and still hit HARD. If a cele shows up I fight till my thief or mesmer buddy show up to help finish them off, but recently I have had a few surprisingly quick 1v1 wins, again I think due to complacency. In group fights I have accepted the fact necro is terrible when it comes to ally support, and i solve this in a rather different manner than normal, again taking advantage of the stereotype. I wait for a ranger, medi, theif, shatter etc to focus me, doesn’t take long, pull em away from the main fight, and boom suddenly I’m from near dead at 20% hp and running for my life to 100% death shroud and rapidly sinking their hp. Again skilled play is needed here to remember when to continue the disengage as that 20% health problem isn’t going to magically resolve itself, you are working against the clock to down their dpser, but normally it pays off. Far better than giving allies a bit of protection from wells etc imo. One thing I will abuse on necro is their 1v1 capability
.
Oh you are right locust swarm is for lf, but it isnt needed to get that 100%, on this build I pop it when going into DS, it carries through, then when I faceroll stuff it keeps building lf, again this is frustrating for the foe, not only do you have full deathshroud but it doesn’t seem to be going down at all, I get people all the time convinced I am hacking/ have bugged something.
I never said at any point I struggle stacking life force -_- but if you can build up to 100% in 10 seconds consistently even when you only have 1 foe to hit on a normal power necro then I guess this build is indeed useless
.
Boon removal? Spinal shivers is a thing.. dat chill and damage is nice too, just make sure to flesh golem charge or doom them first if its 1v1. This build is more focused on countering other damage builds rather than cele’s.
I had some other points but I forget them >< I think I have covered everything you 2 pointed out but remind me if i didn’t.
(edited by shadaux.5192)
The ones i posted were moreover a suggestion/ideas for sausageninja, but it is new to me for death shiver and not running 6/2/0/0/6 on pwr is somehow also the meta. Also, no lich.
Lich skillcap is too low, either the enemy team are good and know how to counter it, or they don’t and they get rekt, against decent teams all you do with lich nowadays is slap a massive bullseye on your back. Flesh Golem on the other hand presents the opportunity for some great plays, its unpredictable ai makes it hard to use sometimes but as long as there is nothing between it and your opponent you can command it to charge at any time, and 90% of the time they don’t see it coming. The whole point of the build is to build lf as fast as possible and get in death shroud, where after a few hits you will have stacked enough might to hit as hard as lich anyway, but you will be far safer. Also like I said this build is a natural side point fighter, lich form 1v1 is not a good idea.
And that would change the entire build. So this isn’t exactly criticism of this build, it’s a
suggestion to use something else entirely. Which would normally be fine, except that he prolly wants suggestions on this build.Anyways, I’m running this exact same build, and have been doing so for like half a year. It works great, It’s quite fun
I use it with soldiers gear for survival, not the best dps but wears people down eventually :P
Cool I knew i couldn’t be the only one
, problem with soldiers in spvp is the celestial meta means the match will be over before you kill anything
, someones gotta up the damage and they sure as hell wont.
i really like ur enthusiasm on not sticking to the meta and copy\paste like 70% of the players,i myself am trying to make a sustain build, atm im trying max crit dmg with high toughness and spec attun+mastery,225% crit dmg comes handy with death perception, even on low power
but i still cant find the sweetspot between reasonable dmg and survivability (spvp wise)
Thanks man, good luck finding that sweet spot
.
now that i am not on my phone.

First one is if you want to keep as much power as possible(only 30 less power than a normal 6/2/0/0/6 setup), second one for if you don’t mind losing more power to pick up an alright GM(not amazing but it has its usefulness). Offhand dagger can also be swapped for focus if u want more burst/boonrip/vuln, i guess staff too i just dont like using staff on pwr build myself
These are just meta builds :S… I’m not a noob I know what a power necro looks like normally, but in terms of survival these ones really needs support from others to take out the traditional hardcounters, its good but it plays another role.
This is just a spectral necromancer build, but with worse sigil/weapon/rune choices :/
I know many spectral power necro’s, it isn’t as meta as 6/2/0/0/6 but it’s known.Weapons: drop scepter, it’s low-decent dmg and worse LF regen. Use dagger/WH with staff. LF regen on AUTO ATTACK is the best LF regen. Plus, spectral necro’s have more then enough LF already.
Sigils: where are your energy sigils? Necro’s almost always need these. I haven’t learned this until recently but it helps a ton. If reccomend fire/air on dagger/WH and energy/hydro on staff.
Runes: I’d just reccomend pack. They are veryyyy strong and everything is useful
Just some tips, this build can work (like most builds) but can be better.
-Hollts
I don’t get ur point with the weapons really, like u said this build has more than enough lf regen, dagger or staff is thus useless. Dagger is melee and I have seen more than enough necros die after trying to faceroll a medi guard or hambow warrior with the aa, if you stack condis properly scepter 3 is very powerful at life stacking. Life siphon on the dagger is terrible and the immob is ok but personally i think aoe ranged cripple from the scepter is better, plus the troll bleed stacks which confuse ur opponent and trick them into wasting cooldowns. Suggesting staff leads me to thinking you have missed the point of this build. Autoattacking for lf will take waay to long, scepter 3 and focus 4 has far better ‘burst’ lf gain, and u get the boonrip and chill, which can be devastating in fights vs eles etc.
This build can survive fine without energy sigils, it loses a ton of damage and ability to spot stealthed targets if used, I know even terrormancers have been running them lately but, no offence to anyone who does use em, i find it too much of an easy option.
Pack runes are a waste cos too much precision and swiftness, both redundant to this build.
Thx for the input though, dagger is a very valid option if u wanted but I find u lose too much of your kiting ability.
So… In fights the aim is simple, stack to max life force as soon as possible whilst getting down as much soft cc and cheap hard cc as you can. This is the charge up phase, however you can still deal devastating damage, especially with ghastly claws, but play it like a normal power build at this point, kiting around etc. Keep an eye on your flesh golem’s positioning, it can flatten everything on a point, save you from a theif or smush a ranger mid-rapid fire with charge, pinning them down so you can feed off of them with ghastly claws with ease. A good opening rotation I use is spectral grasp (many are not used to this skill on necros, but in 1v1s i would recommend waiting until they are close to guarantee the vital life force), banshee’s wail, ghastly claws, unholy feast, swap, reaper’s touch, grasping dead. Alternatively you can troll your foes by starting off on scepter with a few autoattacks to trick them into thinking you are a terrormancer, this combined with the aoe cripple and ranged life force gain+ damage is why I use scepter instead of dagger. If you get focused right off the bat pop spectral armor, but try conserve it for your next charge up phase. As soon as your death shroud is full, which it will be very quickly, jump in it. Now feel free to fight on point, using tainted shackles and dark path to lock enemies down, keep life transfer for when you can fully benefit from its life force gain. Go for enemy squishies, despite life blast’s predictability you will be amazed how many thieves and mesmers are constantly caught out by it, even 1v1. Save doom for if your enemy does the sensible thing and closes in on you to circle round you to avoid life blasts without the need to dodge, or if you see a thief putting down a smoke field before they try stealth, this messes up their initiative upkeep a lot, also possible with wail of doom ,spectral grasp and flesh golem charge, pulling these off consistently is how you stop a thief focusing you out, always follow them up with burst to keep them panicking. If they stealth use grasping dead, unholy feast (if you get retaliation they are still in the area), or life transfer, watching for the fire sigil procs. Learn to fight in this style of using cc at critical moments of enemy rotations whilst kiting away till death shroud is ready and you will dominate everything 1v1. This makes this build a brilliant backcapper/ close holder, even defeating turret engis is possible. In team fights it is a nasty damage source, however you will almost certainly be focused, take advantage of this by moving away to try and get only 1 enemy to pursue, then gank them out. If the focus is too strong use spectral walk to force them to reduce numbers, at least 1 has to stay where you activated it and 1 with you, and if they don’t, you get away. Thanks to spectral attunement it will last longer than they think.
I will probably think of more tips later on, and I am bound to have left vital info out, so please ask and challenge away, I hope you enjoy this build as much as I am. ^^
Oh yea, I prefer pirate runes to strength or hoelbrek because the parrot synergises well with the flesh golem, and when it dies, life force!!
Due to Anet’s habits of nerfing anything even slightly OP sounding on necro I was having second thoughts about releasing this, but with all the distraught necros on this forum recently, especially now with revenant turning out to be everything necro was made out to at launch I decided this was a good time.
I created power build this back in September and have barely changed it since, it is amazing fun and played correctly can take out usual hard counters such as medi guards, d/p theives and s/d theives, and can sustain indefinitely against celestials, gaining from every mistake they make.
I warn you now it is not easy to play, it takes a lot of patience and time to understand its mechanics, but it will hit just as hard as your traditional power necro whilst being a whole lot more survivable once learned, so I feel it is worth the effort.
My original aim was to create a necro with insane life force gain, with just enough tankiness outside of death shroud to give itself time to regen significant life force and dive back into it. The cooldown nerf later on in the month significantly affected this build, and I spent about a week smashing my head onto my keyboard in frustration as a result. However looking back it was probably for the best as this “exploit” encouraged sloppy play, deliberately losing all life force and then diving back in as soon as possible rather than building up useful amounts of it.
Below are the build links for spvp and wvw roaming.
WARNING: please read ALL of the info about how to play the build below them, or you will have no clue how to play it and just die a lot.
PVP: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQRBHhtu1IHNt2WbjxNs3mAZog6JjOAKgDg6mIKeVA-TJhFwAAeCAMOJATLDEf/BA

Already at this stage you’re probably questioning several build choices, but allow me to explain:
Traits:
Reaper’s might is obvious enough, necros have very few might stacking options so we must take what we have, and this is a very nice trait that allows you to stack a lot of might whilst attacking.
Reaper’s precision: I don’t think people normally use this trait, but i could be wrong. The reason for it is it works in death shroud, where you have 99% crit chance, 100% for the first few hits. Theoretically every third attack should proc, and whilst 1% doesn’t sound like a huge amount you will actually see the bar jumps up a decent amount when it does proc, helping you stay in death shroud that little bit longer, which is key in this build.
Spectral attunement: Spectral skills are a fundamental in this build, they keep us alive when out of death shroud and help us rebuild it, thus a bonus 5% and a longer durations are very nice indeed.
Banshee’s Wail: Gives us near perma-swiftness without even using spectral walk, important when it comes to this build’s job in spvp later on, and I’m sure roamers won’t complain. More importantly it increases locust swarm’s duration, more life force gain, more cripple, win win (you want to be aiming to keep your enemies permanently crippled). And it increases the wail of doom daze to three seconds, making it very powerful for its cast time and cool down.
From the reasoning behind the traits listed so far you should easily be able to work out why the traits in soul reaping have been taken, feel free to challenge anything below.
Yea I get this at maw boss etc all the time ur not alone, I am 100% certain it’s not just the obstruction bug projectiles often get either, it’s only at world bosses, can’t confirm eotm I hate that place too many farmers but I wouldn’t be surprised ><. I find that if you reposition the camera behind ur character it usually prevents it.
Which is in a worse position? (tPvP wise)
Necromancers or Rangers?
Are u actually for real?
Its not fun doing stuff like this by myself, teamwork content u have to do with randoms, such sense.
But they’re unranked. Unranked is the new hotjoin. You get nothing from it lb wise, so why worry about new players using it? It’s more of a matchmaking problem than the fact that it’s unranked.
Read the whole post, I wouldn’t care about losing if the matches were as fast to join and get started etc as in HJ but they aren’t, plus the atmosphere is waay more serious than HJ cos of all the premades, people treating it like HJ with more loot is the problem…
Soo, do an unranked match, get put with some guy who said he was in his first ever pvp match, deciding he was too good for hotjoin or some kitten, who was so kittening kitten he couldn’t even find the nodes and spent the whole match running round getting 1shotted by a thief and messing around with the trebuchet…
Next match, and we up against Sizer with what I think was a premade judging by their beastly rotations… Seems legit.
At this point I had done around 40 unranked matches. I think I’ve only had like 5 where I haven’t felt like I wasn’t having to carry the team hard, constantly fighting 2v1 whilst the only person I can rely on is my friend who i queue up with, the pugs doing god knows what.
I’m OK with the whole soloq and teamq merging, had some hilarious games where we destroyed some full guild groups with proper comps with a necro, mes and 3 rangers etc, but can we have some system that forces newbies to actually train and get good before they come kitten my matches? I know unranked is meant to be more casual but since matches take so long to get started its kinda annoying once it finally begins and u realise instantly u don’t stand a chance cos of ridiculous variation in skill.
No its most likely because the pvp amulets overwrite all your other stats, including the celestial buff from the refractor which makes u shiny.
Bought one of the awesome new poly-luminescent undulating refractors and just found out as soon as you go into heart of the mists the effect is removed, I doubt this is intentional and if it is then why?
Cant see how having a spray tan would give me an advantage. Really annoying cos i do a lot of pvp.
New must have for all commanders:
Sorry for kitten graphics, I have no words for this, wasn’t sure which forum to put it in if better one for it plz say so.
I might be a bit slow, but I don’t see a strategy if taking a tower or a keep is basically only a zerg vs zerg matter.
What if don’t a zerg that can help me because I’m outnumbered? I should just leave WvW, I have ZERO chances as being inside the tower does not give me a single advantage, in open field it’s pointless.
Its a double-edged blade, why should 5 roamers not stand a chance at taking a tower because it is t3 seiged to the teeth with you waiting in it on a superior AC, if you are outnumbered it makes sense that all u can do is slow them down by doing a bit of damage and holding or bannering lordsroom, not be able to wipe them before they even manage to finish building a ram, and then just locking it down with disablers if they do?
- make a big flat terrain
- remove every object
- let people banging their head on each other
Fun fights!
Seriously: do the word strategy (strategy, not tactic) means nothing?
Strategy still needed with this, but strategy that requires more brain input, that’s all, not “oh they attacking our tower? seige disablers and mass zoomhacked acs plox.”
As soon as there is an enemy in a tower, it stops giving PPT, unless the forces in there spend more than 60% (Balanceable) of their time in stealth.
This actually seems meaningless; if there are enemies IN a tower, it’s about to stop giving PPT to your server anyway…
Remove ALL Seige, make doors scale in HP with number of players so that 1 player in full soldiers= 1 min (I know this sounds short but read whole post before complaining, defending too easy=no fun fights), 2 players still takes roughly a min all the way up to a full 70 man zerg. Reinforced door= 2 mins.
This would just create a new, lazy meta, as with anything else in WvW that works on a timer. If we all know that killing a door means doing damage for “x amount of minutes”, instead of doing “x amount of damage”, and that the difference between 1 person hitting the door and 10-20 people hitting it is negligible, then every server is going to start sending out Stealth classes to take down doors, then simply call the zerg in when the timer’s almost up.
Door scaling means outnumbered sides can still ninja Garrisons if enemy is slacking, forces people to spread across maps and use brains. It doesn’t entirely solve the server stacking and mushing everything else with pure numbers but it will help that and fix almost all the other issues.
If this is about combatting servers with much larger numbers during a certain timezone or something like that, you’re going the wrong way with it. It’s always easier for a server with larger numbers to be in several places at once than it is for a server with smaller numbers. This system would seem to benefit the larger population servers.
Reason for PPT halt:
Nah, its not huge but I feel its needed to stop a new cheese meta of 5 full nomad warriors per tower rotating banners and holding circles, forces them to actually fight to clear them out, with 1 min doors no point otherwise.
Lazy meta:
The counter? People actually having to actively defend towers rather than stick the guild noob on an ac and tell em to click a kitten ton when baddies show up, get the stealthy kittens before they reach the tower. If they send in zerg, send in your own one and FIGHT!
Big servers:
The really big ones which get bandwagoned by tons of players before seasons are usually people who will only zerg and are not amazing, the stubborn ones left on the small servers are smart and and co-ordinated enough to pull of ninja caps when their stuff is getting their doors chewed through by blob server.
Here is my idea of how to make wvw fun, encourage fights, split zergs and not be broken:
Remove ALL Seige, make doors scale in HP with number of players so that 1 player in full soldiers= 1 min (I know this sounds short but read whole post before complaining, defending too easy=no fun fights), 2 players still takes roughly a min all the way up to a full 70 man zerg. Reinforced door= 2 mins.
Bring back bannering Lords, maybe stick some sort of downed penalty style thing on him, other posts on that.
As soon as there is an enemy in a tower, it stops giving PPT, unless the forces in there spend more than 60% (Balanceable) of their time in stealth.
Replies are welcome but think carefully about how this will change the game first, it will pretty much force battles to occur early before enemies reach the tower if they want PPT, which are the sort of battles we want. Door scaling means outnumbered sides can still ninja Garrisons if enemy is slacking, forces people to spread across maps and use brains. It doesn’t entirely solve the server stacking and mushing everything else with pure numbers but it will help that and fix almost all the other issues.
Cause plague stomp/rez isn’t enough?
No.. as i already explained it is ineffective in most scenarios and is no where near as strong as many of the other classes’ abilities which allow them to stomp with impunity.
You can still spam blinds while in plague even while you stomp or res. That is cool. But personally I never understood why going into DS would interrupt a cast.
Yup and dont forget other classes like thief (black powder) and engi (smoke bomb) can do that on top of their other tricks, and its useless if you’re trying to stomp someone and you have anyone outside of the blind area pewpewing you while you try to stomp.
True and also for plague to be at its most effective you need to be at high health to start off with so your health scales up well, so in multi-person fights when you are trying to ninjastomp on low health all you are doing is gaining stability and a tiny bit of health, but for reviving it is pretty good, but you still can be damaged so its not entirely on par with the other classes skills, and there is the cd u mentioned ofc.
So…
Eles can mistform stomp/res and obsidian flesh stomp/res
Mesmers can stealth stomp/res, blur/distortion or whatever its called stomp/res, and even portal stomp.
Theives can stealth stomp/res and shadowstep stomp
Rangers can also stealth stomp/res and signet of toughness stomp/res
Engis can elixir s stomp/res and stealth stomp/res
Warriors can pop any of their stances and stomp/res, the important ones being defiant stance, endure pain and balanced stance. And any shouts such as shake it off or fear me during a res or stomp.
And finally Guardians can pop any of their virtues and shouts while stomp/ressing and shield of wrath. I’ve even seen a guardian pop sanctuary between himself and the person he was about to stomp, this could be done with wall of reflection too and ofc they can res with sanctuary too (and don’t tell me that is their special res ability like signet of undeath, they have signet of healing for that).
Then there’s necro, unable to execute any of the fancy moves described above, who is forced to leave deathshroud to stomp their enemy or to res an ally, and are often killed before healing if they were on low health thanks to the big cast times on all of their heals
. Would it really be so overpowered if necros could res and stomp in deathshroud? They would still be CCable, still take damage as well as losing lifeforce over time. Deathshroud is not even as overpowered as many claim it is, sure for 1v1s and maybe 1v2s its great, but a lot of the skills above negate all damage and so can be used to escape a zerg or unfavorable situations in pvp, deathshroud cannot do that if there are enough of the enemy. Everyone please stop acting like necro is super overpowered so Arenanet can give us something to avoid this irritating scenario like all the other classes can, i cant remember the last time an existing skill was buffed instead of nerfed in the patch notes. Also if any devs are reading this while you’re at it pretty please fix some of the bugs maybe?
If you don’t know what I’m talking about ask I will happily make a list of all of them.
Looking forward to reading other people’s views on the topic.
not cool now i cant get the backpack for my engi
