we polished our skill for fast dungeons runs years and now with the reward nerf what is it worth?
35 silver…go ahead, i know some rich iron ore nodes. doesn’t even take 1 minute to farm them, and its worth more.
know you know how much anet values our skill and their dungeons…content they created. less then mining in the open world.
let me quote this for you:

looks like mining ore is harder. xD
I wish there was a farm like this in the jungle to be honest.
not as fast as cof p1, but the “spiderfarm” near the itzel grounds is good.
made several levels + loot there. pretty nice to do it with 5 players, you just run in a circle, pull the spiders together at hotspots and kill em. when you finished the circle, the spiders will have respawned at the start location.
many players search in the lfg-tool, and it got hard to get a empty map, so better farm at the night if you got the time.
don’t know if anet will nerf that spot, exp. is okay (~5k per spider i think with all boosts) and you get loot. its not the overkill, but nice after all if you have nothing to do.
i don’t think this is a bug from the system, more like a coding bug wich crashes the game.
i have that very often…error log says always that it could not load certain textures and such stuff.

this was just in lions arch. most times i get errors like that in openworld events and sometimes in fractals / dungeons, but there not that often.
has anybody an idea if it helps to repair / download the complete game new to get a clean version?

Ignore the Necro title, it is just the Necro picking up the Icebow and being on of the people Linecasting, but essentially that is what happens thx to Icebow linecasting. And the exploit works with meteor shower aswell.
OUCH…nemesis, you should explain linecasting again in your part II or your army will make themself ridiculous like it just happend.
you have to go further into detail with #fake math, so they understand what compressing aoe indicators mean (show two circles-> aoe indicators and move one away from the other (“dodge phase”) and see how they overlap -> area where stuff hits. ).
better show it in slow motion, then they will understand it.
and show it on a small target…since big targets like lupicus get hit anyways by all projectiles. but it looks like they did not get that, so be sure to mention that.

Maybe there are ways to go support for something, havent seen the need for it yet tho.
one thing you fail to see:
support is not the stats on your armor. these are numbers wich are comfort for your gameplay.
support are the skills you use at the right time to safe your teammates kitten.
if you are playing guard in my group in a projectile heavy fight, i will thank for your support using wall of reflection.
if you are playing guard in my group and use aegis because you see me already failing the dodge on lupicus kick wich would down me instant, then i will thank you.
if you are my guard in the group in ascalonian katacombs and fail at every encounter stability where its needed and just spam some heal with your clerics-staff, i will rage hard.
…its not about the stats, its about the skills & traits. if skills & traits are enough and do not need to be powered up through stats, why run them?
i would like to see such an option. i have the game messages turned off too, because they just flood the godkitten chat.
even better: one option for friends and one for guildmates (in the currently active guild for sure).
edit: vayne, you can either write stuff like you just did or say: sorry, i was tired and did not read all of it. still your “fault” anyway (if you could say fault…maybe the wrong word for it), no need to get picky.

I know i can probably save at least 2 mins with a revised build and proper rotation. But definitely not 4 minutes to get close to a warriors time.
You completely missed the point though. This is a solo fight you are talking about. Nemesis’ vid was about groups, and he was fighting from range. Due to it being in a group, the lack of active defenses on Necro doesn’t matter that much, meaning way higher DPS uptime since you don’t have to “waste time” dodging / healing where a warrior just pops a block or invuln and keeps spamming damage and lifestealing. Group setting =/= Solo Setting.
But come HoT this will all be moot anyway, because below 50% enemy hp timewarped critting gravediggers are completely insane X)
yeah, and nemisis missed (or ignored completly in full consciousness!) the point that he got fully buffed by everyone else in that group setting (especially by that warrior) and compared his dps to that of a phalax warrior…a support setting!
i don’t even know why he choose a ps-warr? still the thought from pugs 2 years ago that warrior are the best dps class or what?
if you want to compare fully buffed dps classes (i guess that was his point), then he should have compared his dps to that of a fully buffed dps warr (so with 2 warrs in the group, one running ps with banners, so the other one can go full dps).
since i don’t have the numbers, i don’t know wich class does more dps in that time. could be still necro since lich form does a good dmg chunk…and since its about bursting stuff down in group settings atm, maybe necro does more dps here in that short time window…i don’t know.
on the other hand, he will still not outdps a ele since lavafont uptime, fireball spam and meteors will raise eles dps to top notch.
while that, ele brings much utilitie to the group.
we all know that necro does good dmg and we all know he is not in the meta because its a selfish class. neverless you can bring a necro without problems into a group if you are fine with it. just get one ele out or so, dmg will drop down but if someone wants to play a necro, why not.
(i am ignoring here that he completly skewed with numbers and had inkonsistent timer starts because “he would start the kill timer when prestacking might”
…as many said, you either start the timer at the start of a dungeon / fractal or when the boss gets his first hit. thats the baseline what all people do when doing videos and just because one person said its wrong, it is still not…the rest agrees already that it is right.)
nemesis did only one thing: creating drama to get more (anti-meta)ppl into his youtube channel, so he gets more views.
only problem of what he did: he messed up with the completly wrong people and insulted them.
yeah, there are some daily “toxic elitist scrubs” out there in the lfg-tool, who have probably no idea what the meta is about or how it comes to that and mess up their fights in dungeons and insult other people while playing bad.
but those people are not the people shown in the footage of his video and the rest who is posting in forums or maintaining stuff like gw2dungeons, publishing meta guides and doing numbers for sience. also not the people who solo stuff and show their skill with good times in those solos.
if nemesis wants to save his face, he should get out a apology to all these people he insulted…
…sure, you can create drama to get more people onto you yt-channel, but with insulting (completly wrong and more famous people so he gets more attention)? thats just not the right way.

So you dont GS 3 away from it.
Thus free dps uptime….
anet fixed all skills like fiery rush from fiery greatsword and all other skills that behaved like that (bear form rush from norn, the rush on dagger / staff from ele) so that the created firefields don’t stack anymore and doing insane damage on one spot.
at the same time, the whirl attack from warrior did stay as it is, and guess what, it is intented.
using the terrain is not a bug, its tactic. if you get more out of it, better for you.
it is not our fault that the AI from enemies is dumb and don’t get out of such spots.
its like i would say: it is exploiting to use wells from necros under enemies because they are dumb and don’t run out of hard ticking aoes. in gw1 they did.

Just because Guardian has Aegis and all sorts of invulnerability doesn’t mean that every class should get it too. Just an example.
Revenants are better then Rangers with a sword. I see nothing wrong here.
Sword is basically Revenant’s best weapon and probably the “main” one. Rangers have bows.Regngers are way better then Revenants in condi cleanse.
That’s how the game goes and what balancing means. Balancing doesn’t mean that there should only be 1 class, lol. Classes are different and can only fit some roles (with the only exception being Ele that can currently do everything).
you either don’t understand english, or you did not get the topic.
first: there is nothing like a “main” weapon.
second: how would you feel if every class had a root on his auto attack wich prevents you to dodge when you want it (or more: when you have to dodge).
it has nothing to do with balance when you simple can’t break out of your animation to dodge when necessary!
maybe we can push this topic a little bit more so this problem gets attention again.
nearly 3 years and nothing has be done about it. but when rev gets beta feedback it instantly will be reworked. why not give old classes (and serious gamebreaking problems like this one) some love. this aa-chain problem is not such a big thing like a complete class rework. its just 2 skills.

Mate do what hundreds of ranger have done so far : change class or quit the game.
Sadly there are not many other options left for the ranger
well, the thing is, i play my ranger once in a year because he’s is somewhat cool and then i see the sword and how often i can’t dodge when i have to.
…aaaaand hes gone for another year.
maybe after this long time anet decides to look up at this problem, if not, ranger will just stay mostly unplayable with sword in pve. a shoutout is never wrong, but i won’t get my hopes up.
it was intentional that the ranger has two leaps so he can follow up fast without running, just with hitting. they said it two years ago or so.
i don’t even ask for evade on the autoattack like it is on gs, but you should be able to rupt every skill with a dodge not being stuck in animations.
since the last 2 skills on sword aa-chain are leaps and you cannot dodge while jumping there is this issue with beeing “rooted” (that feeling not being able to dodge while attacking a target wich stands still).
other thing is you can’t even go in max-melee position since you will always jump towards your target.
edit: and you can’t hit without a target, since you will just jump across the room with aa-chain skill 2 and 3 without any control over your charakter. pretty annoying. i hope they finally see that this is a major flaw with the aa-chain on ranger and it does not work in terms for the player like the idea behind it.
edit²: solution could be -> is target farther away then 180 units? if yes -> skill will be a leap. if there is no target (but a hit), aa-skill 2 + 3 should never leap.

…in animations, rangers still can’t dodge while sword autoattack skill 2 and 3 because they are leaps and you can’t dodge while leaping.
yeah we had this discussion before, don’t enable the autoattack thing, blablabla.
it is still a very fast aa-chain with 2 leaps where you can’t dodge and its unfair that you can’t rupt them with a dodge to avoid getting hit.
double standarts? i don’t know.
…but hey, its a unique technique that you can’t control your charakter for 1 second in a 1,8 second aa-chain! l2p with no control over character movement! /sarcasm
(yeah i know how to disable auto attack and how to rupt the chain with other skills /esc and stuff. but i don’t think that this is how it should be, since it is a very fast auto attack and thats not what a autoattack should do with your charakter. if it was on another skill, fine, but not on a autoattack.)
tl;dr: you can not break the animation with a dodge while attacking with the sword on ranger while skill 2 and 3 in the autohit-chain because they are leaps and you can’t dodge while airborne. it’s deadly when facing onehit guys in dungeons / fractals.
also while attacking and hitting without a target set, you just leap across rooms into the mists.

solution: if hit target (doesn’t matter if target is targeted by player) is in reach of 180 units: autohit skill 2 and 3 are no leaps (no need to leap when a target is already in range!).

okay, did not try it out with staff, since i barly touch it. don’t know if there are some bugged fields. i didn’t tested it that deep. :P
While the rule is “first field down” it’s not always consistent and not something you should count on because of Anets fickle coding.
its pretty consistent.
there are also the rules: how high is the combo field, wich field is touched first by the finisher and in wich high does the finisher goes off.
example: guard lays first down a firefield and a thief lays down a smokescreen inside it.
if the thief blasts with bow 2 inside the smokescreen his projectile will first touch the smokefield and so he stacks invis.
would an ele blast right in this field like the thief with arcane wave, he would blast the firefield.
same with projectile finishers (even when they don’t matter so much). if a small field is lay down first and a bigger field is arround it and the projectile goes through both fields the bigger one will trigger since the projectile touched it first.
all just go by the rule: first comes first served and don’t look at the other rules and then they wonder why its not working. :S

yes, there is some kind of trigger when you reach a certain distance (or its in the terrain, not sure!)

yes, the first player who triggers this action.
Does this occur only once? Can enemies “path” multiple times?
this occurs normaly only once, when the instance (like arah) is reloaded at certain points then it can happen twice, since the mobs respawn at their old points.
Does “Move to target” or “Move to location” break when enemies aggro? Or do you have to hit them?
it breaks when you aggro. they will go back at the point where you aggroed as this is their new “standing” point when you loose aggro again.
What exactly happens when you waypoint? Do enemies teleport or just follow?
i think it depends on how far the teleport was. the teleport thing mostly happens when you where invisible and you did not give them a “standing” point because you rushed by without “touching” them when you where invisible.
when they reach you while you are invisible, they get their “standing point” and u can walk save away, without them pursuiting you.
What happens if enemies can’t move to your location?
sometimes they teleport. when you are near and they can’t move to you, they can also get their “standing point”.
2) When enemies reach their target or location, that location becomes their base location.
Do enemies return to this base location when aggroed and deaggroed?
yes, like i wrote earlier. they never go back at their spawnlocation (execpt you “parked” them there.)
i think parking is the word the community uses when you stand invisible at a certain point to let the mob in this location if they where such a “patrol”.
Bonus:
List of enemies which can be pathed? How should they be pathed?
the first mobs i think of are the ones after the ooze at arah p1.
you can trigger their pathing and then go invis at the right wall somewhere in the back.
when they reach your location you can go save away (still invis).
in exp. groups you just run invis by them, but in non-exp pugs this often made it easier.
also the slimes / other mobs at arah p1 at the way to the ooze. you should park them invis, else they will follow you.

some things you can’t compare (like gameplay). some things you can.
you can even look at other companys.
just see riot. when you get no ban the whole year and you are not reported because of bad speech and such stuff you get a mystery gift at the end of the year. some guys even get a legendary skin out of it.
in gw1 at some point at the birthday u could get a tormented weapon (they where really expensive). but since it was charakter bound, it did not destroy the marked or something like that.
this are things you really enjoy when you get them.
when i see my 10 jennah minis and birthday blasters…well. useful? nope. i enjoy them? nope.
its just sad.
and i hope they think about that it the future and come up with some great ideas. i know that they can…they did it often enough in the past.
sure its not for everyone like this, but much people play / follow the company since years and enjoyed more or less gw1/2. sure its a completly other game but it plays in the same world and tells the same story…they are bound together.
when there was the birthday of the game, it was always something special…since i don’t know if you played gw1, i just give you this wiki page to show you some details of the event.

the birthdays in gw2 are more or less a joke if you look back in time and saw what happened in gw1 and the company was capable of.
what i really hope, is that in the future (and its just some months until gw2 birthday) it will get better and we can really enjoy it.
don’t see it as blind hate or something like that. i enjoy gw2 and give you this to think about it, so maybe gw2 will be getting better in the future, that is all i want.
when i played gw1 all events (wintersday, talk like a pirate day, wintersday in the summer, etc.) where something cool and u could feel the vibe, neverless wich place you visited.
i had this vibe in gw2 only at the first halloween and wintersday…after that somehow the magic was gone and all where kinda…boring.

we all know, that arenanet has some issus with giving out informations about data like how much players / accounts are active and stuff. infact i asked the german community manager already and he just told me that the firm policy is, that no numbers will be given out about things.
only time they did something like this was in gw2 first year (at the bottem of the page: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-the-first-year/ ).
well, my idea was, that anet could print out some numbers in diagramms how active we dungeons guys are in gw2, like:
-how much instance are opened at a day / month
-how much dungeontokens are spend / do all players have together
-how much dungeonsruns do all players have together
-how much people have the dungeonmaster / dungeneer
-wich exotic item dropps most
-how often dungeons where runned in general of all players together
well, just stuff like this in general. if you have any more ideas you can post it.
so, i don’t want to give up yet and i think it would be really nice to get some numbers about the stuff we love to do. maybe our forum specialist can advance a little bit further then i could with our german community manager and some people at anet could think about this as a great idea to get it rolling.
i would like to hear your opinion guys.
the same happend to me a year ago, when the telekom had routing problems…anet contacted (?) them since many player got the same problems and it got fixed.

you can leave a dungeon with waypointing, no need to run out of the front door…just go to the map, click tyria (surface) and you see all the waypoints, just saying.
hi,
i’m a player from eu (riverside / provider: telekom), near frankfurt, the lag i have everyday now makes the game unplayable for me. it always start at ~ 4 o’clock pm and ends at ~ 1 o’clock am.
i play other online games too, there i have no connection issues.
it all startet 4 – 6 weeks ago and i thought it will be there only a short time, but no. it keeps happening and i can’t play the game.
it starts with lags like 3 seconds and then it goes even further. in the evening i got like one to three minutes of lag where nothing happens, then all actions done in this time go incredibly fast like the server sends me all information. if i have this lag and start dodging (dodgebar won’t get empty with lag) i get instant dc’ed like the server knows whats happening.
at the weekend the lag starts even earlier.
also all outgoing commands i do go to the server, i asked my teammates over teamspeak when i get a skill out and they say i casted it. sounds like the server gets all information wich come from my client, but he can’t send me a response fast enough.
same with chatting.
it happens on all maps, doesn’t matter if openworld, dungeon or pvp / wvw.
would be cool if u look into my case…i know from others that they have touble too, but not as hard as me.

when you go out of a group (doesn’t matter if kicked or not), there is in the chat the message:
player x left the group
player y left the group
player z left the group
…
so you actually see who was in the group and you can report if u wish.
works manually…should have tried that first.

@dub: since i am missing the boosts, i could not start the programm in vs2013, thats right. i just used it to look a little bit at the code since i got curious over my problem.
i have the .exe at my pc and it says dll not loaded when i start it (it does the same at my laptop when i don’t have gw2 open and works perfectly on my laptop when gw2 is open.)
at my pc the .exe says always .dll not loaded even when gw2 is open.
so:
- gw2 freezes when i run the .exe as admin or gw2 does not freeze, but .exe is not running.
- .exe says at the console “dll not loaded!” when opened as normal user.
exe and dll is in the same folder as it should be.
sorry, i am german and maybe my text was a little bit to sloppy to understand and first. :S
edit: oh, sorry frifox if u wish i go with that, no problem.
i’ve got a problem, too.
i can start the programm without problems, but i get always the massage dll not loaded in the console…dll is in the right place tough (so, the programm itself works actually from the view at the code).
when i run it as admin the game freezes or, if it does not freeze at all, nothing happens and it simply does not run.
since i study IT, i looked at the code but couldn’t rly find the problem…can’t run it with VS2013 since some stuff is missing and i did not look deep enough at the code (got exams atm so no time ).
all other things mentioned are in place as they should be. using windows 7, 64 bit.
funny thing: it runs on my laptop (same system) without any problems.
any ideas what i am missing or why it does not find the dll?
putting stuff in another folder at another drive and so didn’t work too.
checked the permissions (read / write) and changed it so it should work, but this didn’t work either.

Actually, the damage is not listed in the tooltip, since it’s not the regular ChaosStorm. It’s the Descend into Madness (trait) change, which creates a CS on falling damage. So until this has been fixed, avoid standing on the bottom of cliffs.
As for WvW … I guess it’s hard to do so with flame rams.But well, we can expect a fix soon, it’s pretty broken.
actually the new tooltip from the trait showed the damage.
i testet it and looked at the traitskill…damage showed something with 21k…thats how we explored it that it was bugged.
well, it was funny…good that they fixed it fast, but that was a funny night yesterday.
maybe they should do a holiday from it…15th octobre….holiday of the flying mesmer.
waiting for it next year :P

i have a serious question. why are most of the nice skins only obtained through the mystic forge?
most of the gamers have the same weapons, wich are easy to obtain and look good in their eyes. so, every warrior runs around with the sword from zitadel of flames or ascalonian catacombs.
is that what u wanted arena net? there are so much nice skins, why can’t we get them from chests in dungeons or something like that?
why do i have to pay 250 ectos, 250 skillpoints and 100 mystic coins for the anomaly?
just let it drop in arah way 4 with a little chance, some lucky player will get it and they will have a good feeling.
we already have to pay much ectos to get max equip, so why on nice weapon skins too? that won’t go into my head.
i would like to see, that all players have different weapon skins, so not everybody looks the same over and over again.
let different weapons drop in different dungeons like in guild wars 1. that would be more of a nice concept.
at the moment i look at the gallery in the guildwiki und just think: well nice weaponskin, where does something like that drop….oh….mystic forge…nevermind.
i go into dungeons just because of one thing: money. the exotics wich drop in dungeons are a joke…when i get one, i hope it has a expensive rune, because i know most of them don’t have a nice skin.
