Just to add…In the edge of the mists map the same broken gate can be seen…a solitary one, and if you look in you will see lions arch fountain.

I just wanted to throw this out as well. What if the gate is symbolic of all gates. ASurans have been tapping into energies to get gates functional and if those energies were in some way rooted to ley lines and not just dragon energies she could be for all intents and purposes be seizing all gates in Tyria, with that broken gate being the teaser. The back flow of energy for however she is seizing them could be responsible for a break….that would certainly change Tyria forever. Furthermore she could be dialing them into somewhere else like the edge of the mists but also anywhere else we have been before or not. Underworld, fissures, etc. We don’t know the state of these realms or what’s going on in them. If she has found a way to control a gate she could have found a way to dial into these locations in the mists as well. Another major change and reason for a new area.

Onyxguard is looking for new social members to join the fold and the Ehmry community. We are an old guild having GW1 beta origins with 7+ years of life with old and new creating our body. We do dungeons, fractals, guild events, WVW, PVP, a truly pvx guild but do have an added focus on havoc WVW squads at the moment that we would love to have skilled players fill spots in and really flesh out the guard. If you are a WvW experienced leader we would love to have you but if you are social, don’t have a chip on your shoulder and plan to be native in Tyria for many years to come you will be of good company.

It was such a good spot to go for a few mins and start from bottom to top for the farming and just the fun. This is one of those places I wish I had accessible to me at any point in time to do and not in fractal form, as a component of the living world. Anyone feel the dame?

We have server ts, forums, all run by the community itself.

-Give people the capability to see the squad count on a commander or give people the capability to see the player count surrounding the commander.

Been a few times as a commander for pugs that I have had very little people around me and it would be nice if other people knew that versus having one tagged commander pulling the group.

-Also commander objectives, allow them to be set. Some commanders are on home defense building siege, some are out there assaulting. Would be nice if you could broadcast the intention of your command.

I have never seen so many people salivate over two people before….two pages of Craig and Brutus. One thing you can credit to them is your love and affection. 12 roses guys, make sure you ship 12.

I haven’t put a ton of thought into this and its completely not thought out but what about time framed objectives…during time x to y we have objective 1, during time y to z we have objective 2 and link them together. This way you preserve the feeling of progress for your day time hours and night time hours, you de-link the two periods and don’t lose progress in each but have each contributory to the next and swap on a cycle. Maybe one is stronger then the other but that’s fine, you work with what you have or you don’t.

You can even have common objectives like towers that are done at any time and uncommon objectives that are time based that will contribute to the morning if done.
It may become more advantageous to not take a tower because you only have the night time to do whatever the uncommon objective is and put focus there so the daytime folks can’t get the advantage of getting what the nighttime objectives provide and vice versa.

I personally enjoy the two week content but it might do wonders if you deploy every two weeks but persist it for four where applicable (i’m sure you cant persist a story on top of itself). This might make the players comments of trying to keep up with it a little less relevant for each nugget that comes out and frankly in my own experience I very rarely have any of the content not done half way through the first week with the exception of a notable few that have stuck around anyways (queens gauntlet for one).

ONe of the things that makes this world feel living the most is VO dialogue that happens around it. One of most effective things that we can do to make it better is to increase the dialogue that can occur. a lot of the dialogue in the game comes with NPCs interacting with each other my example to this is the NPCs in my Lions arch reacting to the lady walking By and what she is wearing. increasing this or obtain the tools to automate this in a fashion that makes the development of it goes by really quickly would really aid in making the world feel alive. also to aid in this if the development takes a long time you can reduce the amount of voice over work and have the NPCs make a one liner VO comment that leads to a text description of the commentary. maybe present an icon on top of the NPC to advise if I interact with the NPCs at that time and that time only I will have dialogue relevant to the situation the NPCs is in at the moment that is directed just to me. If they move on the icon goes away. with that you can add more dialogue and more content for each Living stoRy release which is what we really want along with a better quality version. I could spend hours just reading and PC dialogue in Guild Wars 1 every time there was a release and I could still spend that amount of time doing the same thing this gives your loving story writing team or responsibility but to be honest dialogue content for every living release is minor. spend a lot of time writing story content in a way that will work, add some voice over content but not as much to stress the update cadence, and provide npcs to give it out and even give it out between NPCs (directed story).

Also for quality…we need more depth and less thin content where the blog posts have depth. Bring the depth to the in game, the adventure box content left me talking for hours after the events and that’s what you want over my 2 weeks of wait for the next.

the lag is horrendous, even in LA…its not just WVW. This is the first time out of all the list of issues that I have felt like not playing the game. Its really debilitating and its not just lag my frame rates are doing really weird things I have never seen before.

problem with you yaks is you server zerg so of course why wouldnt we backfill wherever you left whether it was BP or EB? We always know where you are not.

eBay is a t8 server for a reason, I understand this, but do you guys really frown upon open field fights that much? Only early in the night did we ever get any and then we found ourselves watching full blobs running into structures when went to eb to look for fights.

Just know that Os enjoys the fights and if we are in eh, that’s what we are there for, so don’t be shy! We know eBay has organized guilds ready to fight and Yb too!

I think bi-weeklies are fine but they need a proper release cycle or slam more testers at it within the limited time frame.

Right now I would assume they have teams staggered and offset working for a month on each biweekly release (so one team starts beginning of the month the other mid month) and they are dedicated to that bi-weekly so really they are working a months worth of time but releasing every two weeks.

What I think they should do is keep that format but have a team working 2/3 month development cycle, slot the bigger ticket items in there that would require the time frame to test properly and have a release schedule merge with the two week content on that.

That means you scope what really takes a month to do in the biweekly, you can scope what might take more on the 2/3 month, you can even offset if you need more time (dependent on whether it plays a part in the living story schedule or not) your pain point would be your code merge but hopefully the offset would allow for the option of moving stuff that needs more time into its proper place. We would never see the difference as all content would come bi-weekly but we would get a big bang in longer periods and maybe more quality.

If the resources are there you can even do a 6/12 month cycle. Again this all takes resourcing pressure to have it done right so its speculation.

*edit, i think they probably have more time then a month because if i remember right there were three teams, so the offset is a little greater

Literally, the order sequence of what was happening was the following…

- Lag spike
- Speed spike as the client caught up
- This is subjective but I believe I could still chat while in the spike indicating network activity
- same sequence as above and drop
- Looked at my physical connection and it was established on a link layer (can’t really tell anything beyond that although network wise as anything could happen or have changed upstream)
- reconnected and had the best performance I have ever had in game
– Asked a party if they had the same performance gain, consensus was no but no one else dropped
- Asked a guildies and one did confirm on reconnect a great gain
- In my mind blown moment about 10 mins later the post goes out about maintenance window (queue x files music)

Lucky for me I work for the tel/data Co so i will be checking today if they did a profile switch to upgrade my service.

Just to re-iterate…this was an IMMEDIATE PERCEPTIBLE gain in service, this wasn’t over time and it coincided with the maintenance window a day before the Teq patch where you would expect a massive hit on performance. remix and requeue x files music

one other thing to note, at times after that patch (and maybe this is just perception) things seemed to move slightly faster then the normal speed but never a lag moment again.

Honestly, everything turned to butter smooth play its fantastic. I just got the maintenance message to so they are working on something and as far as im concerned its extremely positive.

got lag/excelerated play spike, then dropped…now my game is like butter! I never played this well! Is this prep for tomorrows teq battle? because if it is keep it like this always.

yeah seriously, please fix this. I had a better time in tribulation mode then with this. At least I could see why I was dying eventually and not do that, this I have no choice but to fail.

Is this an open thread somewhere? I would think it is as I have had this problem since release. Mouse keeps disappearing in high action moments…I personally haven’t found a reliable way to get it back instantly but after a few seconds it does come back. Anyone else have tips around this one if a thread is not open for tracking? I have had it for forever but yesterday I had a rage quit moment thanks to this puppy.

Onyxguard is a social guild dating itself from the GW1 beta era’s in our founding members. We are small in numbers but long in presence and will continue to be so until the servers turn off.

If you are a new player we would love to have you join the fold and specifically if you are a WvWer we are currently reforming to put focus on small group squad tactics. No I think no one can point to a comment where AN has said they are refusing to do anything for us. I think no one can point to a comment where Devon or ANY member of AN team has been disrespectful. I think no one should be disrespectful in kind when they have paid us no such disservice and you can be angry and voice your opinions all you want without being so base as to try and justify your right to be ignorant and rude as it if one exists. Many people have in this forum and I have nothing but love for them.

It takes much less effort to form a coherent thought then to be dramatic, so if they do it for any reason I believe they put the effort into the attention they would get by being a clown show.

Hey Kerigan, we are on Ehmry bay (Onyxguard) and would love to have you especially if you are a GW1 player. Really small guild we were in gw1 since beta at core and are currently trying to form a WVW squad/s to focus a little more in there from the ground up but we do have pve in the mix. There is nothing like a guild wars 1 player so if you want a long timers group, come help us build it!
