In general Guardian can’t out dps warrior. If you mostly focus on pve, I would say get a warrior, since the current pve meta is dps. A lot of group would kick a guardian for a warrior in dungeons.

Which dungeon beside CoF P1?

Killed yesterday with berserk gear and without any consumable, traits 10/0/30/30/0.
For the first step I used sword/focus to teleport to the gravity bubbles, then I switched to scepter/focus to DPS Liadri and stay at long range.
Also, signet of resolve, purity and smite condition are pretty usefull skills/traits to go with as she puts a lot of cripple (I killed her with just SoR anyway).

Neither WoD nor ZD work, I didn’t try with sanctuary or SoA, but I’m pretty sure of the result.

While the game has its flaws (many flaws), it still is the best game I’ve ever played after its predecessor.
That said, we are very far from perfection.

150€ for CE, 50€ for character slot and about another 50€ for bank/inventory slots or cosmetics stuff.
Really worth it for me.

Not much of a legendary weapon hunter, a crafter, achievement hunter, or collector, I’m not much for pvp or wvw either. Living Story seems nice but I don’t think I can do that since I haven’t completed my personal story yet(yes/no?) And since I can’t purchase dungeon gear I guess I can do that. And Fractals. I don’t have a guild though so I don’t have many options.

I think you really need a guild or some people to play with. That is all GW2 has to offer and is pretty much, if you don’t enjoy any of those activities, maybe GW2 is not the game for you.

Very good points, but I need to add a couple of more about the guild message:

- Let us edit the guild message and copy/paste from it. It is frustrating to rewrite the whole message if i missed one letter, or been forced to manually copy the ip address of voice chat (or something else).

- Make the guild message show on the chat panel once you login, it’s much more efficient and GMs can be sure that everyone read it (just like GW1 and any other MMORPG)

I’ve put down a possible build with celestial armor. It looks pretty good, hits much harder than knight/berserk build and still has some points in survaivability.

This still defeats the purpose of exploring the map. And if your character doesn’t have a specific area explored/open yet, why should you be able to magically transport there to help with a guild mission, or for any reason? I mean if you had all wps available you would never have to actually travel anywhere. I mean you could just teleport.

This is not a valid point, otherwise no account bound item/title/skin etc. would have any sense.
And why is bad not being force to travel trought the whole map whit an alt? If you want to, just do it.

Actually, guardian is one of the strongest class in sPvP and quite balanced in WvW, maybe you should try another build.

Tipically, for general PvE and trash mobs I use GS/Staff, when fighting single bosses Hammer/Staff and when long range fight is required (I never play long range if not forced) I use scepter+focus .
I rarely change those weapon sets.

I have many guildies who do PvE 90% of the time making money, farming dungeons, world events, fractal etc.
Do you remember when Colin said that WvW ranks would have reward people with “Lots of ectos”? Well, almost all my guildies were excited about it and couldn’t wait to rank up in WvW and obtain those ectos, then, as they saw there were no ectos for ranking up in wvw, they ignored it again, just like since release.
That said, I think that with better money reward and MUCH higher chance to drop rares/exotics and T6 materials, either form killing people and ranking up, PvEers would be much more pushed to play WvW and could appreciate how much fun it can bring to your game experience.

An italian localization would be greatly appreciated!

I have two piece of armor with identical stats but different rune, I tried to trasmute them because it costs much more to buy another rune to put in my armor than using transmutation crystal but the game doesn’t allow me to do so.
Also, I can’t savage the rune I want from the other piece because I bounght it with karma.

Is this a bug or an intended feature? If so, they didn’t count all the cases because in my situation I actually need to trasmute the items even if they have the same stats.

Please, can you give me a feedback about this build for general high end PvE?

Against general mobs I’m not a fan of hammer, I find GS much more useful. Against a boss, hammer wins hands down.

I’d spend up to 20€ for everlasting merchant, bank access or trading post but I can’t stand buying black lion keys and hope for a very rare drop of such things.

Hi all, I want to present you a small application made by me.
It simply checks main events status and warns the user with sound (a sexy voice ;-D) when one of them starts. It’s not much but I find it very functional as it optimizes my in game time and allows me to forget about event timers on the web. The application will do the work for you!

This is a valid point, in fact i saw the event list reset about 1hour and a half ago and slowly getting populated.

Is it just me or API are not working fine? I see some duplicated events from event names API and some other are not present (Shatterer or Jormag for example).

I’m afraid 20$ are not enough. You will need armor pieces, weapons, runes, sigils and trinkets. Maybe you sould go with 30$ worth gems.

Be sure, I know how to dodge, but it’s simply not enough to mitigate all damage, especially if you go melee, otherwise all builds would be all berserk + scholar and gg.

I disagree with you in this point.
skill #2 hits all mobs around you, #1 has a much smaller AoE. Also, faster attacks means more crits and more burning.
skill #3 hits hard, blinds and is a leap finisher, which all together is better than an autoattack
skill #4 puts retaliation and does damage -> just more free DPS
skill #5 is not for damage but for pulling mobs.

Well, rune of the scholar are pretty bad for a melee and cost way too much. For the rest it’s an interesting build, but you took away 20% faster recharge on 2h weapons which means less spam and less DPS.

Maybe in 1 vs 1, but PvE is almost never 1 vs 1. What I love of GS and can’t live without is Binding Blade, such a useful skill.

Hi all, I just wanted to share the build I’m currently using in PvE, please be free to take a look, maybe try it and let me know if you like it or if something needs some work.
Although I know most of DPS guardians like to go with Knight armor, I find those additional 2,7k hp pretty important for my general survivability while still having high precision and crit chance.
I tried so many builds over the past months, from cleric to berserk, and magi too (yes, I spent an insane amount of gold/tokens for my guardian equip) and imho that one has best DPS/survivability ratio.

Pleas, don’t give so much importance to utility skills, as you may know they are constantly changing based on the situation I’m going to face.

DPS guardian all the way, we don’t need full defensive traits and equip to be a support class.
The worst guardians imho are those who play staff as primary weapon as they didn’t understand the class at all.

I will have to disagree with your gear choices. You are punishing your party by going this route as it sacrifices to much DPS.

I am a 100% backer for the full Knights armor + Soldier runes and Zerker trinkets. You still have high survivability and good sustained DPS output. Coupled with shouts you are good to go in the support department.

Obviously you switch skills around based on the encounter and situation. Merciful intervention, is not one I recommend in using.

I second your concept, in a game without taunts, it’s pretty useless to go full defensive in PvE.
Anyway, atm I’m running with soldier armor and runes and knight weapons and trinkets.

They said that they aren’t actively working on mobile app, so don’t expect them in near future.

Let’s start by saying I’m a long time GW1 player and passed an insane amount of time playing PvP, especially HA.
In GW2 I have much more fun playing minigames like kegbrawl and crab toss than playing sPvP, I see a lot of potential in these games beacuse they have great mechanics, require a lot of strategy and… there could be great space for teamwork.
Countless times while playing kegbrawl i whished I could do a 5 vs 5 match with organized teams because the game itself requires strategy and teamwork that is difficult to apply with random teammates.
The same thing goes for crab toss, it would be simply awesome a crab toss match with 2 teams, where attacking and defending team would be constantly changing based on which one currently has the crab.
Anet please, bring those minigames to the next step, now they are really fun but it’s clear that they can’t exploit all of their potential and that’s too bad, and don’t forget the bar brawl, if it’s well implemented, it could be another awesome minigame to add to the list.
Just imagine minigame tournaments, prizes and all of that great stuff… I’m excited.

What you think about that?

TL;DR
While I really can’t get into sPvP right now, I’d be playing all my in game time in organized minigame tournaments.

I love Kegbrawl alone more than whole sPvP, so it would be fantastic to have team based kegbrawl matches and, why not, guild vs guild.
I definitely support that.

Kegbrawl alone is far way better than whole sPvP, I have a lot of fun with it.
I would be really pleased if ANet decide to improve the system to be more e-sportish and add some actual reward for playing it, not just the achievements.
