my ranger gets 11-12k rapids quite often. i don’t think that’s bad at all when you add in pet dmg and trap dmg. of course this is PVE, where nothing dodges so you can actually land 10/10 shots instead of 3-4/10.

i even hit a 17k rapid on a veteran ogre in wvwvw but i was so surprised i didn’t get a screenshot.

No no, I meant the guy I was quoting thought he was getting 6digit crits on each of the last 3 shots of the Rapid Fire. He’s thinking he’s hitting people for upwards 60k damage throughout the Rapid Fire channel time. And of course, he’s basing his argument off that.

Which is why I’m laughing.

What? Same as auto attack? Ive had crits of 12 13 and 14k with the last 3 of those 10 shots from rapid fire.

So I’m going through this thread (Because I love the “debates”) and I just can’t but notice this person’s responses. Sounds like some people still think that each damage number in the Rapid Fire sequence is the individual shot’s damage instead of total damge of the channel. Would explain a lot of the die hard LBow fans.

Depends on what weapons you’re using.

Shortbow = Sigil of Strength (As Berserker, you should be 60%+ Crit Chance. With Fury up, you can stack a lot of Might with the shortbow shotspeed).

I think Accuracy for Longbow.

Yeah forget it, I run full berserker and wanted Quiver of Swift Flight too, but no flavor item short of a legendary can be worth 60 gold to me. The stats on that quiver just aren’t exceptional enough to justify that kind of expense, for my bank account at least

Use your noggin bro: get the backpiece with stats you want, make the cheapest quiver(AFAIR ~10-15g), transmute.

Voila, quiver with the stats you want AND the look you want w/o spending 50-60g.

That said, 50-60g is CHEAP. I’ve seen a lot of “too bad for WvW players like myself” comments…yea that doesn’t work, because I WvW TOO and I have one. Spend an hour a day doing CoF p1+p2, salvage the tokens, and you will end up with an easy 3-4g. Throw in another dungeon or so on top and you’re probably near 5g. That’s less than 2 weeks to get the quiver with stats you want(w/o having to transmute).

Not that hard.

Well kitten it. I didn’t think about it too much and just went and bought the last 200 Vials of Powerful Blood off the TP. That itself was 60g (guess I didn’t watch the price too closely and bought it when it was expensive). All together with everything, I think it was near 100g total.

Well I guess it was okay since I wasn’t saving up for the Rainbow Unicorn Shortbow anyways.

I never get booted from a dungeon group (only up to Fractals 14 though). The only group I never get into is CoF Path 1 farming. They only want Warriors/Mesmers.

As a matter of fact, most groups appreciate it when I blow my QZ for rezzes and slot Search and Rescue. Or when I kite the boss for a crap long time so others can rez.

Full Glass Canon Berserker Build with Superior Rune of the Ranger.
2x Shortbows with Sigil of Strength.

All I do is stay on the move with my weapon swapping (for swiftness+fury) and buffed evasion regen.

Works great on most dungeons.

Not so great Fractals 10+.

Could not answer your question except that confirm the slingshot has a rubber band sound. It’s awesome but.. I wish they would disable the default sound if we’re going to have the rubber band sound. Both of them together sounds weird.

I would hope the NPC will still be there tomorrow since I logged off right after looting the chest. I was already running late to work and couldn’t risk being even later. I did not have time to go spend my tokens.

Yeah, some Elementalist just happened to run across my screen with his/her flames right when I took the screenie. I thought it worked out fine. Sporting the blue/white of my Guild colors. And I think I stepped in something in my 2nd shot.

Are you sure your pet didn’t put you into combat? I’ve seen so many rangers run around without putting their pet passive.

I believe getting a Rare weapon for beating the story mode makes perfect sense. If you’re doing it right, you completed your Personal Story shortly after hitting 80. This would be the perfect starting weapon to help you farm those Exploration modes for Exotics. I believe this is what we call “progression”.

It might not make sense for all of us that have been 80 for awhile as we’re all Exotic’d up, but future level 80s might appreciate this.

The only problem I had was that I couldn’t see the initial ghost behind the beginning NPC. There was like 100 people around doing the food fight thing, and the ghost is sort of.. transparent. Other than that… How do you miss the huge freaking orange circle that denotes the event in LA?

I really enjoy finding random trick or treat bags in the normal mob loot tables.
