The answer is yes. If any skill you use deals damage to another player, you will get credit. Someone mentioned there is a damage threshold, but it isn’t a lot – somewhere like 500 dmg or something.
Fort Aspenwood
Pretty sure this is either intended, or a bug. I am on FA and this happens very very frequently, ive noticed it happening mainly in EB but sometimes on another map. Keep in mind the change to the way outnumbered works. You may have it for 5 minutes during the ‘tick’ and then once you pip, it goes away due to players just joining the map in that time span. If you have a squad that floats from map to map, you will see it more
I suspect.
As for the lag, this has been happening quite literally since the start of GW2. Hope you find something that helps!
Fort Aspenwood
Oh no – it’s happening again!! Anyone else been in WvW long enough to remember the turtle?
Fort Aspenwood
Not upset firstly. Giving my 2 cents from my own pov. I would never go out of my way to pick someone apart in game. I am just failing to see how posting here about it will be constructive. Anet already has systems in place to deal with this so why not utilize them is all I am saying.
Fort Aspenwood
For people asking how to get might in WvW for your group – you use one of the 10,000,000 fire field skills & blast them. The might lasts longer too.
Fort Aspenwood
It is a total of 1450 pips per week – totaling 365 tickets/wk.
Fort Aspenwood
Sucks to hear – I am sure a lot of people are in a similar situation. However – how did you come up with 12 weeks for 875 tickets? in 3 weeks you can get 1100?
Fort Aspenwood
Being 5 years into the game and getting pulled into walls/rocks/the ground on the nightly.
Not much of a glitch but watching people hack the orb around the borderlands maps was pretty funny to watch.
Fort Aspenwood
Like Famine said. I use the ABC’s (always be casting), if you realize you are being kited, swap weapons and use something that can hit whether it is range, spectral grasp is a good utility as well. Or simply disengage and wait for them to come to you

The outnumbered tickrate should be the normal one (and outnumbered bonus should be decreased from 5 to 1 or 2 pips). Then it takes around 10 hours to complete the chests for a gold ranked player.
20 hours (5 pips per tick) is absurd and feels not fun but exausting (to me at least). It is a huge timesink. Server population is already dopping massively because people realized it takes ages just to unlock some stuff. Not worth it.
The 175 cap is enough to keep players busy for months or even years.
If it is exhausting, then the cap is not a goal meant for you. Do you think it should be easier to be legend rank in PvP? WvW is not a “take a day and grind this reward out” like it is in PvE. Diamond chest is not a goal meant for casual play, please get that through your head.
You should get through your head that your opinion is an opinion and not a fact even if you try to make it look like one.
If you want to tell people how things are “meant to be”, program your own videogame!
Besides that I wrote the exact opposite of what you know try to ascribe to me. I said the 175 cap is enough to keep people busy for a VERY long time – even if they reach it every week – for what 10 hours/week would still be a noticeable amount of time! 16 weeks just for the backpack, not to mention the armor or the weapon skins!
Please take your time to read and understand posting before you enter rage mode!
He literally quoted what Anet has said in their Guild Chat stream – They said that Diamond chest is meant for more dedicated WvW’ers while they expect more casual players to reach around Gold-ish. Whether or not it is fair – it’s not my place to complain, I’ve waited 5 years for any type of reward so I am stoked I get something to work toward while I do what I enjoy doing anyways.
Fort Aspenwood
175 is the weekly cap yes… And IMO I think those that reach it are either AFKers or insane, lol. If there was no cap, people would be be logged in 24/7 standing around in spawn.
I’ve played pretty casually (about 2 hours a night) and reached it pretty easy, I think on Wednesday.
Fort Aspenwood
Not botting. A lot of WvW players take short breaks and stick coins between keys to avoid getting booted while making a sammich, bio etc.
Just an observation over the years.
Fort Aspenwood
Excellent information here for people just starting out and / or needing a refresher course after a hiatus and what not.
FA/SF has a great community that is very diverse in different styles of gameplay.
Fort Aspenwood
I run Axe/Dagger – Staff – only for boon corrupt, 99% of my dmg comes from ripping boons, marks, and reaper shroud.
If you can target a backline, corrupt boon, well, axe #3 then epi? It’s almost a guaranteed 5 down.

Guild uses Discord for txt capabilities only. We can pin builds in chat, link videos that are auto embedded etc, that way on lunch breaks we can still spend our time bsing or working on builds and junk.
Fort Aspenwood
Venom share now days to most is just considered a leecher to most organized groups. Not to say it doesn’t have a place… I let people play how they want.
Fort Aspenwood
You are part of a linked server, AFAIK – if you get at least 100 pips for 3 weeks running and beyond, you will retain loyalty pips regardless of who you link with.
Fort Aspenwood
It’s not an increased drop rate, it’s due to the fact that The population is over saturated so more people are playing meaning more people are finding the drops and linking them.
Not entirely sure. Normally I get a ring like once a week with 5-6 days rallied in wvw.
In these last 2 days ive had 6 rings drop and 1 armor chest..
Fort Aspenwood
Was running with my guild the other night and got several chains of WXP potions out of chests, so I opened one, got another, opened the next, another. Ended up with like 30 levels. – Must have been incredible luck for me.
Fort Aspenwood
This will last until the hype dies down. Looks like I will be afk in LA until queue pops.
Fort Aspenwood
1st) All available damage is to support a quick combat system…
2nd) Conditions are meant vs high armor targets (armor ignoring)
3rd) Burst Power Damage is meant versus squishy targets (no dmg reduction)Versus condition dmg:
- resistance,
- trooper runes,
- generosity and purity sigils sigils
- condition duration removal food (sweet bean buns anyone?)
- condition duration removal runes (melandru? hoelbrak, antitoxin…. it was a thing in WvW?)
- plague signet and condition transference (necro’s?)
- light fields and blast, whirl and projectiles?
and- => CONDITION CLEANSE SKILLS <=
Versus DPS:
- dmg reduction food
- dmg reduction traits
- dmg reduction runes
- Protection
- Weakness
- Retaliation
- Aegis
- Blinds
Of course there are also reflects, walls and ressurects…. and other mechanics to cheat the system.
And in all cases you have dodges:
Do not tell me we have a totally invincible strat in conditions in this game because people seemingly do not want to do anything against conditions. Saying conditions are invincible is saying you do not want to look into the options this game system provides other then qT Meta builds….
Pretty well summed up. While I agree some classes need buffs to catch up so we get even more diversity in builds – People just refuse to adapt and play the game. There are so many tools at your disposal but they would rather jump the gun and cry for nerfs.
I’ll just be over here building my guild comp and getting better at playing while everyone else is PvF.
Beep beep.

Definitely interested in one. I will msg you when I get off work later.

For group’s I see a lot running Mace/Shield + Hammer – Marauder stats w/ mix of cele trinkets. Durability runes etc.

Shameless bump, 10 more members this week!! Come help restore FA to it’s former glory!

If desert BL was more —-- desert, like rolling dunes and stuff, less cliffs – it would be my favorite map..

Queuing order based on rank? I hope not, I said before in another thread – most of my playtime in WvW was ages ago before the rank update, so I have like 192k kills and I am about rank 700.. How would that be close to fair?
Fort Aspenwood
Even i am +5k rank. How much people have been slacking if they are lower than that?
I am rank 650 ish, 5K hours, 102K kills. I took a 2 year break and recently came back.

Hello!
We are APS or – Amici Per Sanguinem. Oldschool WvW guild that is old as dirt and we are currently looking for more members to join our roster!
New or old, we have no requirements other than to show up and say hi and play with us a few nights per week.
We are located on the NA Fort Aspenwood server, raid times have not quite been worked out as of yet since a lot of us have just recently returned within the past few months but I will update this as needed.
We are a mix of PST/EST/CST so any of the NA timezones are great for us.
You can reach me or the GL in game here:
zectra.6978 – myself
Silo Menel – Guild Leader karmik.2641
So! If you want to come join us, and grow as a guild, then don’t be afraid to come say Hi and learn more about us!
Fort Aspenwood
Yeah, you can take 2 characters and spend like 2 hours there for a piece of gear. Not too shabby.
Make sure you do the hearts, and then just farm all the nodes. There are probably maps and guides for best routes online.
GL!

Hate to say it, we need a Warfront style WvW (sorta like Rift, obviously not exactly the same) Where we just queue up solo or as groups/guilds and rek WvW for 45m at a time…
Better rewards, small and big groups, everyone wins.
You mean just do that for PvP instead. That gamemode has 1 foot in the grave just as well as WvW.
That could be interesting as well but I don’t think they would ever abandon sPvP like that.
Even adding more selection for PvP, could add AB style 10v10.

Interesting thing about watching older video is how many players are playing before skill lag becomes an issue. Then you are reminded about how the power meta facilitated such larger fights because condition damage calculations weren’t such a thing that dragged servers down. :feelsbadman:
Remember how blobs wouldn’t even show up until like 1m after the fight started? Remember mesmer feedback turtle bombs?
Remember no target cap?
Retal bombs?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I’ll be kittened. I hope next week I will be eating in a tub of Ben Gay eating my shoe.

So you want PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds for GW2 basically?
Fort Aspenwood
Billiam, I don’t want to break your heart. However, there will be no new content for WvW for the remainder of the games lifespan.

Out of curiosity, which build(s) are you normally playing when you get this whisper grief?
Why would you wanna know that? what does that even have to do with the OP?
Ur asking for trouble m8. No matter what you run it doesn’t justify toxic comments.
Because he’s somehow reached a block list limit that none of us even knew existed, and him running a cheesy tell build could explain that and all of the gate whispers he’s getting.
For most people this isn’t a problem.
A lot of us players that have been here since beta weekend have reached it – there was a time when gold sellers were soooo bad.

[…] but mesmer is one of the classes that is -fine- right now.
You cannot be serious… The profession that can unleash non stop condi bombs and then stealth when something goes wrong is fine?
I will say, there is a counter to every class
Fort Aspenwood
yes xfer to BG so MAG can get more bags.
More like sit on siege and ktrain

I run t4’s every day, I have never had an issue (let alone even noticed) the anomalies… Not sure what to say??
Fort Aspenwood
I got one shot by a hammer rev for over 13k last night – I was running full 100% glass. I laughed my buns off!!! Of course that’s because I was running the completely wrong build for the situation.
Not sure the point of this post except to cry, but mesmer is one of the classes that is -fine- right now.

Jeweling 500, Visible Jewelry
Cooking 500, Assorted Options for +% (magic find, reward tracks, experience, karma, rare gather, rare salvage) added to lvl 80 Food.
Cactus Fruit Salad + Ruby Shard = +8% Reward track
Cactus Fruit Salad + Sapphire Crystal = +10% Rare GatherSo ya I would limit use to t4 and t5 gemstones for +8% and +10% added bonuses.
Not a bad idea really. I wouldn’t mind my toon having a gangsta gold chain.

Any class! Start from 1 and learn it, that work’s best for me – perhaps it will work for you, plus you get a lot of l00t now when leveling.
Have you even read the original post?
I did!
With 80 boost a lot of times you won’t learn the class, just getting thrown in the deep end with no idea – when you level you get to learn the class inch by inch on the way to 80.
There are also a lot of guides that will help you learn rotations with any given class that could be helpful as well.
Necro and ele are both solid classes for all game modes – if you want something different, I enjoy Dragonhunter and CPS Berserker.

You just mentioned you’ve never raided… But you are speaking on behalf of the raiding community here. As to the class imbalance with raids, I agree it’s silly we don’t have more build diversity, but most people (myself included) only have so much time to dedicate, so we play with the best builds we can to get through it. What you are mentioning though, I have never seen in game. That is not saying it doesn’t exist – I especially know that mapchat is basically cancer, if anything – I urge any random pve player to go play sPvP for one hour, tell me how many PM’s and mails you get from salty toxic players.
If a new player is interested in raids, join a guild, ask what type of gear/class they need & play it! That easy, I have every class ready for raid/wvw/pvp whatever – be versatile and hard to replace, and have fun!
Fort Aspenwood
Why is it that raiders always assume people who don’t raid are newbies, man I’ve played this game since launch and got daimond for 3 seasons of pvp, and never raided. People who raid are so full of themselves.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Most of the raids I have joined have been super laid back and casual, basically the game in a nutshell. New/Old – as long as you can follow mechanics most people outside of the forums really don’t care.
Fort Aspenwood
I think we can say the best possible solution to your dilema is to quit warrior…
can’t escape it.
There’s an influx of zerk Wars who keep joining my raid training groups thinking they are 1337 dps and refuse to play anything else.
It’s kind of difficult to break it to them that Warrior is a low DPS class, without any particular build to give them other than Viper’s.
If it were just 1 or 2 people, then that would be a problem on an individual basis. But the design of the game keeps misleading new players into choosing Warrior for damage.
Pretty much! In PvE I have my viper’s set – medium DPS and a little bit of dmg utility for the group. Otherwise, I am looking for a new main class until the new elite arrives.

Warrior Elite: Spellbreaker art
Hey dude, that looks sweet! Is this OC?
Fort Aspenwood
Get a meta build set up on your toon. Read up on the mechanics, then join a group. Raids in GW2 are so flippin easy it’s crazy. If you dodge, and follow mechanics – the rest is cake. Cheers
