How do I report a violation?

If you encounter a player who you believe violates our guidelines with inappropriate actions, vulgar language, offensive character or guild names, advertising of cheats or exploits, or any other breaches of our User Agreement or Rules of Conduct, we’d like to know about it. Please use our online help tool’s Ask a Question tab at the top of this page to inform us of the violation.

Here are some examples of violation details that you should send in your report:

The name of the character being reported
The name of the character you were playing at the time of the encounter
The time and date of the incident (with time zone)
A description of the offending action, dialogue, or name
Screenshot(s) of the incident (please ensure any screenshots are in JPEG/.jpg or GIF/.gif format and under 2 megabytes total in size before you attach them to your message)
Any other details that you feel are relevant
We will use the information you have provided to investigate whether a violation of the rules has occurred. If we do find any rules have been broken, we will take action

To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, reporting players maliciously, attacking a player based on race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated.

This is totally our fault, we dropped the ball on this plain and simple. We planned to have this messaged ahead of time to be fair to everyone, communication broke down between those who knew it was supposed to be messaged, and those who were supposed to message it and it simply didn’t happen.

As game director this is ultimately my fault first and foremost, and I’m sorry for those who potentially lost some karma as a result. It is our policy to message these kind of changes ahead of time with lots of warning, I’ll do everything possible to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.

I’d recommend not using your karma consumables yet, give us a day or two to try and see what options we have available to help mitigate the issue.

The rumor that I just made up says that BG War Council paid him 10,000g + an Eternity to move to BG in an agreement that he would continue to make videos and insert BG propaganda in each of them.

I resent this, we spent 90 000 gold, an eternity and a handie from Morgoth on the premise hat he would strike fear into his enemies via telepathically scaring off his opponents with how intense he is in TS.

Actually, I heard it was 9 000 gold x10, a twilight and sunrise that was merged into 1 sword and the act of smiling like a donut from Morgoth to scare and intimidate enemies in a Voip.

Tarkus we all know that IRON is one guild, ok we have around 4000 members total but one guild cannot control 4 zones, which is why one guild cannot control the overall ppt. Plus we win more fights than we lose so whats that saying about your guilds? (and dont try using the numbers argument, as we are very often outnumbered)

This kind of childish lies show how trustworthy are their members. At least they believe they are good… Nobody else do XD Why? Are you a WvW guild working for your server weekly match ppt and win : you stated you rank fights over ppt and dont care of WvW but more of GvG… Are you somehow high ranked in GvG ? Not even. Do your members are high ranked in spvp : no. Are they able to complete fotm 40+? : no. Are they dodging? no. But they use TS and have a nice tag that make them belive not to be any longer pugs, to be fair they are sweeter lootbags with this tag up there^^. So everything you keep doing is bragging on fake assumption about how great is Iron (with the equivalent of the half of Monaco states amount population as members) but you are a joke to many old timber harcore pvp gamers like me and many others.
Much respect to any of you who are worth it (so few :p), no consideration for others.

Titan, really? Before you comment on stuff you know nothing about at least try to get a clue – you can always poke and ask to avoid situations like this in which you look like a royal kitten.

IRON roster is like 110 with 20ish AFK for summer / holidays atm. And as for us losing commanders, dude, really… I’ve been the main commander of IRON since it began and the other two guys who command regularly have been here so long I can’t remember not having them. So ye we might be ‘few’ commanders but we have a year’s worth of enemy tears under our belts. Show me a guild with three solid commanders like ours Titan cause I can bet you 100g you can’t find one.

Oh and an edit cause I forgot to add- Are you high? We don’t tag up cause unlike you Titan, our members have two eyes and are clever enough to follow my beautiful behind without issue.

Hey folks,

I wanted to take a moment and address this, it’s a totally fair question and something as a player (removing my GD hat) I’d wonder the same thing as well. As I covered in my blog post last month, a major focus of our living world releases in the second half of the year will be on focusing our living world releases on content that has a larger sense of persistence, and more permanent effect on the world.

You’ll start seeing this strategy come into effect with the release 2 weeks from now, and grow as the year continues. The story of these living releases will occur long enough for it to play out reasonably and then update as the story moves forward, while the content and playable experiences (except specific story beats) will persist forever as a result of that story occurring.

We still want to have some content that can happen each year, our holiday festivals, Super Adventure Box, Zephyr Sanctum, and the new Queens Gauntlet are all intended to be content that will regularly return. The goal of having these in our portfolio of event content that can occur again each year is they allow us the opportunity to easily build on something we’ve already completed as themes for some of our releases for year 2.

We wanted to get to the end of the first year of Gw2 with a decent amount of these events that can happen each year in our pocket, to allow our second year a lot more opportunities to lean on these while we focus on much larger projects we’ve been working on in the background. You will not see another new recurring style event in 2014 once our core portfolio of returning events have been completed with the Queens Gauntlet. You’ll already see the benefits of this as the return of Halloween, SAB, and Wintersday has given some of our teams time to focus on other bigger projects during that time.

As to the point of this specific release, there are a ton of permanent features and content. From the update of mini-games becoming permanent on a rotation, champion loot, solo queue PvP and leaderboards, dungeon reward changes, currency wallet, PvP leaver penalties (dishonorable), the FX culling system and more! However, we do recognize one of the components is returning content rather than constant, we need one more core event in our portfolio to fill out our ability to pull off the ambitious plans we have for next year. We too want to have an even larger playable content impact as stated in our goals for the second half of 2014, you’ll be see seeing that play out shortly.

Soon, you won’t need to ask “is this permanent or temporary?”, you’ll simply be able to look at story specific parts and know the story goes away when it’s done, and the playable core content remains and changes based on the outcomes of the story. As a player, I’d rather login and experience an event knowing the outcome and the results of the story will create content I can see and experience for years, than have it all go away 2 weeks later, and have no impact.

We’re also looking into options that would allow players to experience the story sequences that will go away as the story moves forward for those who missed them, but this is still a ways off as we look at various options.

They should warn on the forums, and discipline as in, kicking them out of tier 1 for a short time.

Come on guys, grow up a little. The week might be lost, it might not. You can hate Blackgate all you want, but at the end of the day we are just as resilient as you. We’ve been to Tier 4 and battled back. Guilds have moved here for our community and helped us rise through the ranks. How is that any different from your server? I understand the notion of trash talking opponents, but flat out wishing the death of the only servers that give you competition is pretty lame. Maybe we should make a god tier where you can run around in your maps all by yourself while JQ, BG, and DB enjoy a friendly, competitive match since you are so out of our league?

That’s what I do. I read gw2 forum when I’m completely bored at work. I usually skip WvWvW sub-forum unless AreaNet is implementing WvWvW change. I chose skip it because most of the posts, especially in T1 thread are full of troll and negativity. They are useless. I don’t care what people think about other servers and/or guild and I’m sure people don’t care about what I think either.

It is outright selfish to insist they stay on in a server where they feel it’s no longer fun. This is a game and the aim is to have fun.

Guilds will move servers, populations will change, that is a reality. Lack of change breeds stagnation. Face it, the international nature of the game means that the basic building block is the guild, it is not X server or Y server.

The server name is merely a title given to a database that records the points. Servers facing destruction? That is merely creative destruction that prevents stagnation through movement either up or down the tiers. You see this phenomenon in nature all the time.

Lastly, I wish WM all the best with BG and being able to play with their korean friends in ND.

The trolling has to do with concluding an event many players are working hard trying to keep alive. Then some players, with dedication (it cannot be done by accident), work on finishing the event and ruining it for the rest, even when everybody is nicely asking them to stop. It also has to do with dropping wrong consumables and spamming banners in dense farming areas.

First of all, gj to BG and JQ. You brought the A game.
Second of all, most of us on SoS will fight until the reset on Friday and if we dropped to T2 then so be it. That just means this week is not our week. It doesn’t matter how many time we get dropped, what matters is how many time we get up. Just don’t count us out yet. We’re definitely not going to stay down and let ya’ll get free stomp, that’s for sure.

Kudos to JQ and BG, SM 3-way fight tonight was full of awesome.

All drama, server pride aside, regardless of who wins, it was one hell of a week in T1. It was full of fun and excitement. This, I think is why we are all here (at least it’s why I’m here).

If for some odd reason, blackout is considered an exploit. BG and SoR will fight it out to be number 1 in WvWvW because most WvWvW guilds in T1 and T2 will be banned.
